Urahara Kisuke - Short Story: Chapter 2

On that day, you became their allies. 

After every battle, through every moment, you had one goal, to stop any and everyone that supported Yhwach’s corrupted ideals. You fought with everything you had, and so did Ichigo and his friends. 

When Yamamoto died, it was devastating. It had taken a toll on everyone. You hoped that would be the only casualty, but even that was naive. Because bodies kept dropping. 

Jushiro Ukitake. 

Unohana Retsu. 

Komamura Sajin.

You memorized each face, each name, because you needed to be reminded why you were fighting. 

At the end of the battle, Ichigo’s final face off, you were terrified. More than anything you wanted to help, but you weren’t in much better shape than any of the other reapers. 

Yet somehow, just like that, Ichigo won. 

You thought it was an illusion, but it was real. 

The relief of everyone around was almost instant and you’d dropped to your knees, crying pathetically.

No one stopped you, because a few of them felt the same. Everyone involved had lost something or someone. 

But it was over. 

You were free.

“(Y/N) (L/N).” 

You stood before Rukia, the newly appointed Head Captain. 

All the other captains were present, lined up, ready for Rukia’s instruction. 

You bowed your head, ready for your faith. 

Although you were an ally in this war, you know there must have been some part of them that resented you. Not personally of course. 

At the end of the day, you are a Quincy. You would accept any decision, because for once, you didn’t have to run and hide, and it was freeing. 

“We will provide the necessary resources to rebuild your home in the world of the living. For the time being, I hope you will consider staying with a friend of mine in Karakura until your house is done.” 

Your head lifted almost shakily, because this was the last thing you were expecting. 

“B-But I’m a-” 

“Comrade. One we are all grateful to have on our side.” 

Her words made your eyes tear up, and the captains looking on just smiled in agreement. You lifted your hand, rubbing your sleeve against your cheeks to stop the tears, but they just kept coming. 

“T-Thank you..” 

Rukia smiled, moving to your side as she placed a hand on your shoulder. 

For the first time in your life, you felt like you were living. 

Ichigo was the one who’d offered to take you to where you would be staying. 

“If he does anything weird, don't be afraid to kick his ass.” 

You laughed at the instruction as Ichigo continued to give you pointers on his former mentor. 

Urahara Kisuke. 

Walking in stride with Ichigo, you couldn’t help but feel fortunate. You’d not only made loyal friends, but they’d taught you what it was like to have hope again. 

You gave a tug on Ichigo’s sleeve, and he turned, about to question it, but you moved forward, wrapping your hand around him as you hugged him tightly. He was clearly taken aback, but when he heard the muffled thank you in his shirt, he couldn’t stop the smile. His hands lowered, and he patted your head. 

“You’re welcome.” 

When you made it to Kisuke’s shop, they were already inside waiting for you.

Ichigo gave introductions and you nodded to each one of them. 

Tessai, Jinta, Ururu and finally..

“Kisuke Urahara, friendly and respected shop owner. “ 

He moved closer, fan in hand, getting in your face. 

Ichigo was quick to kick said man in the face. His body dropped like a log and Ichigo merely huffed. 

“If you do anything weird to her I’ll kick your ass hat ‘n clogs.” 

You weren’t sure what their relationship was like, but clearly this was normal because the rest of them had just casually gone back about their day as if their boss had not just been floored. Kisuke stood, rubbing his face. 

“That’s really mean Ichigo, don’t you trust me.” 

“Not at all.” 

You were still peering at him curiously. Kisuke merely tilted his head to the right. 

“I thought you would be older. Your outfit is cute.” 

It was just a statement, but he jumped forward and hugged you, laughing happily. 

“That’s so nice of you to say! You can stay here as long as you like!” 

He was laughing joyfully, which just earned a kick from Ichigo.

“QUIT BEING CREEPY!!” 

That was the end of that.

Thoughts?

It's been so long since I've written anything but I'm thinking about writing a long, multi-part romance story for Shunsui Kyoraku taking place after Aizen but before the Qunicy War. It would be my spin of what if someone got thrown into a world they were not used to. I kind of want it to be a slow burn leading into some spice for the future commander. Would anyone be interested in seeing something like?

Is it okay if I ask what Quincy Jones said about Michael? I never knew about any of that, but I shouldn't be surprised as seeing as for 'Billie Jean' they had some issues regarding the royalties as Qunicy believed that he stole the beat from "State of Independence" by Donna Summer.

He’s said a lot of bullshit about MJ. He said “Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs. He was as Machiavellian as they come. Greedy, man. Greedy.”

He said MJ bleached his skin and that he wanted to be white. He denied that MJ had vitiligo or discoid lupus. He also said MJ was obsessed with plastic surgery which is obviously untrue. He also tried to sue MJ’s Estate for money he wasn’t entitled to. He tried to act like he made Michael or was responsible for Michael’s success when he did practically zero work for Bad, and the biggest song MJ ever made (Billie Jean) was 100% made by Michael and Michael ONLY.

MJ went to court and proved he made that song, too. He didn’t steal anything from anyone. If anyone is at fault for a similarity, it’s Quincy Jones because he produced both songs.

It wasn’t even a week after MJ died that Quincy was saying bullshit about him. He was a bitter old man who was mad that MJ kicked him to the curb and found a much better producer for his other albums.

He sued MJ’s Estate over the doc This Is It for songs used in it, songs he was already paid for 30+ years prior… meaning he had no legal right to any money. He sued and was awarded millions in damages, millions he then had to repay the Estate when it was eventually found he didn’t deserve the money.

He also was definitely a guilter of Michael’s because he removed his music in 2019 from concerts and the like, when Michael was being lynched.

Quincy Jones did not produce all of Thriller. Michael did the majority of the work, not Quincy, just as with Bad, Michael did 98% of the producing, yet Quincy still tried to insist on being named co-producer. That’s why Michael ditched his ass. Quincy also kept great songs off of Bad like Streetwalker for example

Some MJ “fans” get amnesia over ppl who’ve done Mike dirty the second they croak just because they’re so called “legends” or whatever. QJ was a dick and he was never a friend of Michael’s yet these so called fans wanna pretend Quincy was Mike’s bestest friend in the whole world 🙄

Daisy has only recently struck out on her own and has been doing all kinds of different things to keep herself afloat. Contracted work, treasure hunting, perhaps more questionable(tm) jobs here and there.

This is why she had to get so good at gunslinging. Some jobs won't guarantee her and sort of safety; she had to learn to protect herself when necessary, and her safety was likely compromised more than she would prefer.

Joining Quincy's crew is the first form of stability she's had in her adult life. She's glad to have a roof over her head that she'll actually see for an extended period of time lol

Very very loyal to Qunicy and her crewmates. You got her back? She's got yours. She likes that she's found a place to belong and she isn't gonna squander it.

She is also excited to see more of the world around her--there's so many places she hasn't been or seen. Who cares if there's danger! she's used to it, just show her more of the world and how cool it can be.

Something tells me she's like. A VERY good dancer and absolutely blows Quincy out of the water in that aspect.

Her scarf's a comfort object. In addition to keeping her warm she fidgets with it when she's antsy or nervous

She has a slightly higher than average peripheral vision than most Steambots thanks to how BIG her eyes are. She very much uses it to her advantage and it's another reason why she's so good at gunslinging

Unohana is not in the best of mood to begin with, let alone when Isane returns from the Twelfth with a silent vacant Uryuu trailing behind. She had argued against it; there was no point in sending the boy back to that place when she and her subordinates could deal with anything that did happen.

But the news of the recent developments with the boy’s Zanpakutō, a thing he should never have developed in the first place, had given Captain Kurotsuchi plenty of reasons to demand the boy be returned to him and the head captain had settled it by allowing Kurotsuchi to run some tests.

So Unohana had been forced to send her charge to the Twelfth, despite the boy being unable to hide the way his hands shook or the glimpses of desperate terror that kept appearing in his eyes. She had sent Isane to retrieve him, who brought her sister to raise enough fuss to get the boy released early.

Her lieutenant had adopted the boy shortly after he came to their division, and Kiyone had followed suit with much louder declarations, much to the annoyed glares from 11’s fifth seat Ayasegawa and complaints from Abarai.

That was back when the boy still barely came up to her chest, before he proved his chain was still connected to the human world by growing at the speed a normal living child would. 

Which was another issue they would one day have to deal with, alongside his unstable bond with his Zanpakutō that shouldn’t exist, his still living family who may come for him, his entire state of being a Qunicy, his rightful hatred for soul reapers.

Out of all of it the unofficial custody agreement between the Fourth and Eleventh over him was the easiest dealt with.

First to attempt to fix this latest trauma, thankfully she had been prepared and called in help.

“Oh no,�� said help chirps, when she notices Uryuu, “I haven’t seen that look since I found him in the tube.” 

Yes, since the lieutenant of the eleventh while bored broke into squad twelfth most secure lab and left with a similarly small, dark haired child and an artificial Zanpakutō pushed to his chest ‘because it belongs to him.’ then arrived in the middle of a ‘at that point normal-pointless’ captains meeting to introduce her new friend.

“Kenny found a friend my size, can i keep him?” she had asked, it wasn’t a question, ignoring the others as she pulled the boy to her captain, she hadn’t even needed to add “twelve were keeping him in a tube, that’s a waste we’re gonna teach them to fight, they want to.” given the way the boy had flinched and started muttering ‘no’ over and over in increasing terror until he had vanished behind Kenpachi when he spotted Kurostuki.

Every captain that remembered Quincy were all aware of what the boy was without being told and could also feel some of the changes Kurostuki had brought even if the boy himself hadn’t at that point.

The meeting ended and Kenpachi walked away with two small children on his shoulders instead of one while the oldest of their numbers remained to listen to Kurostuki’s explanation.

By the end of that, it was too late to return the boy to the lab, even if it was on the table, as when they went to retrieve him from the 11th, they found Yachuri walking the boy through foot placements and swings while Zaraki watched with an almost peaceful-fond look, the savage grin he gave them made that very clear without words.

“Little Ryuu.” Yachuri called as she skipped toward him, the name hadn’t changed even as Uryuu grew from being her height to almost twice as tall.

The tall female spirit appeared behind Uryuu, draping multiple arms over his shoulder and across his chest him, Yūdokuna doesn’t follow any of the rules that normal Zanpakutōs do but that should be expected since she’s an artificial one created within a soul that should be her opposite. Even so, the strength of her appearance and the fact that she’s started doing it without Uryuu’s intention adds another issue to the list.

What happens when they develop Bankai when they’re barely stable during Shikai.

She shakes the concern away to deal with at another time and Yachiru takes in the appearance of the Jorōgumo without much of a reaction, ignoring the stare from golden-red eyes and grasping Uryuu hand when he doesn’t reply.

“You in there?” she calls a little sharp, she didn’t like being ignored, hand pulling Uryuu to make him stumble.

“Yachiru?” he asked, blinking at her in confusion before he looked around, she can see the moment he realises he is, when his shoulders relax, no doubt still tense from the moment they had told him was being sent to the twelfth.

“Come on,” she bulldozes past any question he might have, and starts pulling him away “we’ll find you someone to beat up. Kenny says that makes him feel better.”

“Yeah that’s-” Uryuu said after a delay “Thanks.” she can barely hear it but she still hears it break.

Kurostuki made a monster because of his curiosity and Genryūsai wanted her to train the boy to become a weapon against his own kind.

She knows that Uryuu could very easily destroy them all, the unstable nature that Kurostuki made, which in turn created Zanpakutō with the Quincies innate abilities while twisting the boy’s soul into something else.

It is very clear when she looks into his eyes, it’s solely due to the boy’s own heart, his empathy, and stubborn refusal to be anything like Mayuri that prevents all their doom, the boy’s Zanpakutō, has made her wants of revenge very clear since she had started appearing and Unohana is expected to turn that against their enemies.

It would be easier if they stopped giving him more reasons to hate and fear, stopped piling trauma onto a boy that likely had some before he watched his grandfather killed twice and became a lab experiment of the man that he had watched take his grandfather apart.

Unohana once again went through all the reasons she should not kill the captain of the twelfth as well as the head captain. That would be the easiest way to gain the boy’s loyalty, she thinks; she does wonder if Genryūsai has forgotten what is behind her mask sometimes.

But that’s why she has Isane as she watches the boy stop and pull away from Kusajishi to allow her lieutenant to pull him into a hug before he leaves.

She doesn’t doubt the boy could kill him, she just wonders if he’ll survive the aftermath and what it will take to push a boy so filled with mercy and genuine good will to kill.

Uryuu will die to protect those he loves, she just needs to make sure he’ll kill for them and do it without destabilising and taking everything around him with him, if she can make it so he survives it, even better.

Behind The Mask

1979: The Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) a fantastic Japanese electronic band, records “Behind the Mask”. 

1982: Qunicy Jones recommends it to Michael Jackson, who re-writes the lyrics and records it for the Thriller album, but it doesn’t make the cut. That 1982 cut was only released in 2010.

1983: YMO do a great live version for their Propaganda tour. 

1984: Greg Phillanges, who played keyboard for Michael Jackson, does a rock cover version of the Michael Jackson pop re-write.

1986: Phillanges, who also played keyboards for Eric Clapton, plays on the Clapton version, probably the best-known iteration.

1993: The Human League record their version in collaboration with what’s left of YMO, turning it into a bouncy piano number. Is it even a 90s track if it doesn’t have a bouncy piano rhythm line?

2004: Goldie Lookin Chain sampled it for their track, and I am not making this up, “Your Mother’s Got A Penis”. Do not feel any obligation to click on that. You’d never get away with that these days, etc.

Batman Animated Rebirth idea

I have this Idea related to Batman, You might remember the old animated series of Batman in the 1992-1999, I thought of an rebirth of it. Plus it was PG-13

1 (Idea of the story) : The Series took place about when Bruce Wayne was Batman for 5 years. One the first year, he defeated Dr Death and his whole empire and Dismantled the Crime Families. However, over 5 years,he faced countless costume, deadly and mutant rouges. He allied so many Allie’s like Dick Grayson as Robin, Barbra Gordon as Batgirl, Alfred, Lucius Fox and the GCPD. Many other even too place before that series like “Long Halloween, Arkham Origins, War of Jokes and Riddles, Bad Cop, Batman 66 events and a movie, Batgirl Begins from Arkham Knight and Arkham Asylum Living Hell.”.

2 (Changes and a few events): This will have a few flashbacks and it will first part 1 episode were Bruce becomes Batman and Part 2 fights Dr Death and fast forward to The Joker. Bruce Wayne lives at the Wayne Enterprises Penthouse scene he was 6, when Thomas decided to became Mayor and would have the Wayne Terminus as the Batcave. I fell like the whole leather suit of the costumes is old so I thought it’s time to amour it up. The GCPD will be have a big building like the Arkham Knight version. The same goes to Arkham Asylum as a Mercy Island as big mansion part giant building. In Season 1 Harleen Quinzel isn’t Harley Quinn yet, but we’ll get to it much later and soon after, they leave Gotham to go on a cross country crime spree, putting Bonnie and Clyde to shame, come back a few episodes later. A few secondary villains that might come once or twice, For example, Batman did joined the Justice League.
