bucks takes it upon himself to go outside of his job and directly approach tommy in order to connect and create some sorta scheduled hang out session. and it isn't until eddie suddenly appears and makes it clear that he's already been hanging out and making friends with tommy that buck's jealousy comes along. and rewatching with full episode context now, it totally reads as someone jealous over their bestie hitting it off with their crush better/much sooner than they did. letting it get so far between them that one friend hurts the other over a boy

like eddie is literally just... bro-ing out with a friend who will finally play basketball with him (because his best friend's answer is always an established no) and meanwhile buck's green with envy because he's the one that wanted to shoot his shot with the pilot. eddie off to the side likely killing time during shift talking to his girlfriend on the phone and bucks just "that should be me on the phone laughing at whatever tommy is saying 😡"

Okay, see, the thing about your story ending on a negative/dystopian/'despite everything that's happened nothing has changed in society' note and doing so successfully? It needs to have been set up for that in the first place, and it needs to be done in an intentional manner.

I have nothing against works that reinforce how cruel/meaningless/pointless/etc. the world is -- I enjoy a fair few! -- but the works themselves need to be some sort of commentary about it; the plot might be demonstrative of the futility of everything, but the story never should. It should take that and build on it and use it to make a statement, underscore a point, etc. to its readers. Having everything carry on business-as-usual without acknowledging it, especially in a genre that's generally meant to conclude on optimistic, uplifting, and hopeful notes, comes off as callous and in direct opposition with the values it extols.

Plus, the story itself should never be futile because, then, well, it never mattered as a work and it makes no difference if you've read it or not. Which... that's just a badly written story lmao.

I know these are another ancient relic of a tumblr rpc long past, but I'm doing one anyway. I've had this blog since like '13 and a lot of people have came and went and while that flow can be sad sometimes, I think it's also important to appreciate the now and make memories to look back on later. i'm neutral to majority of them, no strong feelings would i associate mutuals with certain pairings? most definitely. it's cool to see what they personally enjoy.. makes me really happy the only ship(s) i think about on the daily is anything with shrigs, lamp and warren. i'm extremely indecisive so depending on the day i either focus on one particular duo pairing or all three of them. i am going to fight for the nightbugs title if i have to draw millions of fanarts i will. i'm not normal

tbh i sincerely hope none of u here r elden beast apologists. i don’t wanna hear shit abt it ‘making sense for the lore’ for there to be no torrent elden beast is a boss MADE for torrent. this last attempt i only managed to hit this massive space cunt twice, the rest of the time i spent catching up to him, and every time i did he fucked off to the other side of the arena again. arguably the worst boss in the game which rlly sucks bc it’s the final boss and tbh i expect better frm fromsoft and i dont think im wrong to. elden beast rlly doesn’t hit the mark the same as any other final bosses for me, though i will say it’s only marginally worse than soul of cinder, but for completely different reasons, and not even SoC being from ds3 can save elden beast frm this unfortunate ranking
