The love the Andi Mack fandom had for any and all minor characters was unparalleled. I will never forget when Lauren Tom’s son had a 5 second cameo that was literally just him opening his locker and we all dubbed him “Leo the Locker Boy” and drew FAN ART and many of us had ENTIRE HEAD-CANNONS for him. I think one of them was that he loved aquariums?? And we all collectively agreed?? We were unmatched

Thinking about how Leo says he uses his jokes to cope and y’know, thinking harder on it I think it may very well be because of what else uses one-liners and puns and that type of humor.

Specifically, 80’s action movies and campy sci-fi. Even more specifically, the protagonists of these.

So I can imagine why, exactly, Leo leans toward this brand of humor. It’s directly linked to things he loves! But even more than that is why I think it’s used as a coping mechanism.

In these genres, these quips tend to be said by the winner - or, if not a winner, then someone who will stay alive. So there’s a confidence behind them, an assurance, almost, that even if things go wrong, things aren’t ever too serious. There’s no bad endings here! It’s all good fun, even if the stakes seem high.

Leo canonically has been known to steer his brothers away from the more brutal villains and toward more fun, lighthearted activities and not-so-dangerous criminals. So for Leo, these jokes definitely make things less heavy, make the situations they find themselves in less intense.

It’s kinda not just coping, but also can be seen as a form of escapism. A safety blanket. A way for Leo to defuse the tension of knowing just how dangerous their lives are and replace that with a levity which implies that things will be okay.

Unfortunately, levity alone does not alter reality.

bakugou seems the type to just kind of hunker down and go bush if he did end up getting lost in Australia if he goes camping while he's there, he's spiteful, resourceful, and he 100% read up on what to look out for in Australia so he knows not to stick his hands in any holes (though he might still box a kangaroo just to prove to himself he can lol)

Deku flies over to Australia in a panic and finds him munching on some bush tucker with twigs in his hair and going "what took you so fucking long"

I understand that literature nerd Jason Todd is kind of overblown in fanon compared to it's actual presence in canon (a few issues during his pre (and post?)crisis Robin tenure that highlight it) BUT consider that I think it's hilarious if the unhinged gun toting criminal has strong opinions on poetry

Deku: since were all adults and all have different jobs now it's hard for everyone (aka at least 20 people) to get together. (As opposed to when we were classmates and shared a dorm and as such spent at least 8 hours a day together).

Fandom: Omg they abandoned Deku once he got back to being quirkless! How horrible!

If you are still accepting stuff for the au headcanon game, how about an au where izuku’s quirk is that he can imitate the quirks of those he admires strongly enough

1 - Hello to the AU where Izuku has the quirks of every pro hero he ever sees, because his hero fanboyism is just that strong.

2 - Interestingly enough, it's not widely known that he can mimic the quirks of people he strongly admires.

3 - Izuku isn't bullied, since his quirk is incredible, but there are tensions with Katsuki who absolutely hates when Izuku is using Explosion.

4 - A lot of people are annoyed at Izuku's very quirk. In a world where quirks define you so much, someone stealing your things just leave people a very bad taste in their mouths. There is also the idea of "Okay, if Midoriya can't use my quirk, does that mean my quirk is worthless?"

5 - Toga and Izuku are foils to each other and more philosophical conversations between them.

+ 1 - Izuku loses the ability to use Endeavor's quirk after Shouto talks to him during the Sport Festival.
