This AU consumes my mind every SINGLE moment. I can't even imagine the brutal practical torture he would have gone through because of quirk awakenings. He finally gets used to something and they pull out an entirely new method that will plague his dreams. And does the quirk itself reset after he loses it or does it stay awakened? Cause if it stays awakened the government will try and keep making him get new ones to be even more powerful but if it resets he's gonna go through even WORSE.

anyway yes you are 100% correct, that was me yapping about potential ideas for Monoma's quirk awakening with the tidbit about the government hiding away in the tags

ANYHOW, to Aizawa's reasoning

Aizawa's desire to keep Monoma's awakening a secret stems from his concerns over Monoma's autonomy and freedom. and Aizawa's worries are not without reason.

one of my personal headcanons is that, although Monoma is a top ranked hero by the time the manga comes to a close (i.e. after a lengthy time-skip), his first few years out of high school were rough. he was a pivotal part of the war, sure, but a lot of that information was concealed from the public. that said, for Monoma's first few years as a hero, he faced a lot of the same shit that he did growing up; namely, claims that he was too weak to be on his own or, worse yet, that his quirk was one suited for a villain. (there were... a LOT of comparisons made between [Copy] and [All-for-One]. Monoma fielded them gracefully, but it could get overwhelming.)

if the news got out that Monoma had developed a skill that could allow for him to copy a quirk and then modify it to be more powerful than the original, i could easily see the public—and the government—suddenly placing him under scrutiny yet again. there would be debates over the ethicality of him modifying others' unique powers. there would be questions over whether or not [Copy] should be so freely used, or even allowed to exist unchecked in the first place. it would place a spotlight on Monoma's every move—driven by fear that his ability could be weaponized by villains or that he himself could go rogue—and it would lead to him being kept under tight surveillance as a result.

Hawks, as the new president of the commission, would do everything in his power to protect Monoma from being exploited the way he himself had been. but at the end of the day, the government is still the government; they would see the potential for a new weapon and, with or without Hawks' approval, they would get a hold of Monoma eventually.

it would be simple enough. Monoma wouldn't want the public to be terrified of him, so he’d willingly agree to stricter regulation to ease their concerns. from there, the government could easily manipulate him into working for them—preying on his desire to prove his worth as a hero. the recent media attention would reopen old wounds, reminding Monoma of the ridicule and doubt he faced growing up, and it would only push him even further into the government's control.

it would be brutal. after all, awakenings don't just happen. they necessitate that the quirk user be placed into a situation where they are so stressed out that their power physically mutates in an effort to protect them. and the government wouldn't hesitate to throw Monoma into these situations, finding new and inventive ways to push him to the breaking point, time and time again, to force each new awakening.

(it's ironic. the public would be scared by the idea of Monoma being weaponized by villains, but in the end, it would be their own government that did it. and the very system meant to protect him would instead be the one exploiting his abilities, all under the guise of maintaining public safety.)

This is set in a sort of AU of mine where adult Midoriya is a quirkless police officer who's moreso treated like an overpowered FBI agent who could take on 30 armed men. He can still feel those embers of OFA but can't activate them...

Until he DID.

I feel like he could still awaken and train those embers under certain circumstances, such as seeing a loved one get hurt (ahem ahem, Bakugo—). Soooo, in this case, it was his friend (one-sided love oof) Aria Kotaru (OC). He may or may not have realized some feelings during this time... 👀

HC: Deku can have a feral, lop-sided smile. No one thinks he's capable except for Bakugo who has seen it once. No one believes him.

@evilminji recently made a Post about DP x MHA and I'm in love with the idea of those 2 fandoms together. (I'm gonna tag this dpxdc just to spread it around but there won't be much dc in it. Maybe a few crumbs here and there)

So! Quirks came into existence the same day Danny became a Halfa. He wasn't directly responsible for it, but when the Portal opened it released a truly Massive amount of Ectoplasm into the world at large. The Dr's Fenton didn't notice it at first, because Amity Park had always had that level of Ectoplasm and all of their Sensors were within the City Limits.

The Ectoplasm released onto the world quickly and integrated with multiple Humans across the Planet, and eventually enough Ectoplasm gathered in a single Human to form the first Proto-Core, aka Quirk. That human was the Glowing Baby.

This phenomenon spread across the world as the situation in Amity Park devolved. The GIW knew for certain that these "Meta Abilities" were the result of Ectoplasm Contamination, and doubled down on Amity Park to try and fruitless contain the spread. Not that it would have worked, the Portal opening had sent a Shockwave across the fabric of Reality, creating mini-portals that continued to feed Ectoplasm to the Earth.

Eventually the day came when Amtiy Park was Evacuated from the Mortal Realm by Clockwork for it's own Protection. It's disappearance was blamed on a newly awakened Quirk destroying the entire Town, which was used to feed the flames of hatred in the Early Dawn Era.

Then one day, Amity Park returns. In Japan of all places.

Clockwork had dragged the entire Town through Time, to an Era that would accept their abilities. It was placed in the countryside of Japan. Clockwork had considered putting them in a dimension of Heroes, bur decided that would like to stay in their home dimension for now.

Thats the basic world building, but there are other parts we can expand upon in this AU

For Example, OFA and AFO

All for One was the first True Core in the 1st Gen of Quirks, but he was born with a Defect that made him unable to generate his own Ectoplasm. He felt a Hunger that could never be satiated, and eventually found a way to feed that hunger by absorbing the Proto-Cores of other people into his own True Core, stealing their Quirks.

One For All was the Opposite, born as an empty True Core but without the insatiable Hunger that his brother had. Then AFO force fed him a Stockpile Core and it fused with his own, giving him the power to Generate and Stockpile his own Ectoplasm.

He also had the power to Pass On his Core to another Body, basically just passing on his power. Then his Successor did the same, and their successor, and their Successor. Eventually we reach the 9th Holder of OFA, and the Singularity.

In this world, the Quirk Singularity isn't just an event where Quirks grow too powerful for their Bodies to handle, it is an event where the Proto-Cores of Quirk Users experience an Apotheosis, and change from Proto to True Cores. True Cores which the Human Body can't handle having.

But it's different for OFA. It was a True Core from the beginning, born within a Human Body, and it has the power of 6 other Proto-Cores within itself all ready to Apotheosis into True Cores themselves. When OFA is passed onto zuku Midoriya, it floods him with 7 Cores worth of Ectoplasm, and turns him into a Halfa.

When Danny and the rest if Amity Park reappear in Japan, they find not only a world populated by mostly Liminal Humans, but also a Powerful Halfa who doesn't even know he is a Halfa. Maybe even 2 if All Might also experienced the same Apotheosis?

“we interrupt the usual programming to report an arachnid issue in the subway this morning. it seemed to be that humanoids with bad demeanor were causing disturbs reported by users who were taking the subway on their way to work and alerted to the district police. when the police force arrived at the location, the alleged instigators had been captured in a kind of spider web. fortunately, no one was hurt. events indicate that it may have been the masked mystery that everyone nicknames spiderman... many wonder if he is an ally or an enemy, and if his presence will go for better or worse?”

static sound envelops the room when you turn off the tv and your sigh joins with one of the many forced exhalations your boyfriend makes to catch his breath. his wet hair sticks to his forehead and his mouth is half-open. a pink hue takes over his cheeks when he resumes his exercise after pretending not to have met his gaze with yours.

“this spider boy...”

“spider-man.” you look at him staticly as he shallows hard, “i mean... i think it's spider-man... with a hyphen in the middle,” he adds in a nervous chuckle.

“right,” you say, convinced. “this... spider-man, do you think he's good-looking?”

mark is startled when he checks in and sees that you've come closer since he last saw you sitting in his bed. from up close, you can notice that the blush has spread to his ears and neck. “good-looking?” he repeats, looking everywhere, but you.

“my girlfriends bet that he is,” you mention, searching his gaze when he starts to do sits-ups now.

“oh.” you watch him do five sits-ups before moving in front of him and leaving him with no escape.

his big brown eyes stare at you until he breaks a silly laugh. “i mean... i wouldn't know. isn't he wearing a mask?” his hair sticks to his partially wet forehead. “do you think he's good-looking?” he inquires after.

mark is sweaty from head to toe, he has sweat stains on his shirt, he probably stinks and yet you still consider him mesmerizing. “no. i don't.”

a silly smile dances at the corner of his mouth as he positions himself face down to start doing push-ups. his shoulder blades tighten under the shirt attached to his skin due to sweat, toning the muscles under the fabric; you contemplate the details of the back of his neck before deciding to press a little harder. “but he definitely has a lot of girls drooling over him, don't you think?” you put your head on your hand, eyes going up and down following his face every time he flexes.

“uh...” he chuckles. “he probably has, right?” you bite your lip at his curious quirk of answering your questions with another question. “he's quite famous nowadays. he's a superhero.” you see him having thoughts behind his eyes. “he's strong, he's agile, he shoots cobwebs. besides, everyone loves superheroes.” he looks at you, and the way he does it awakens something in you, an analgesic shot with a featherweight feeling.

you take advantage of the moment when he rises from his push-up to get into the small gap between his arms. his breath causes your lips to tingle. “he's just a guy.” you lighten his countenance with a soft smile.

“didn't you say he could get all your friends?” he asks squinting before he comes down to your face and his lips get inches away from yours. so close, you can already know how they feel like.

so damn close, it only takes you reach out for them.

and it is ephemeral, and charged. full of. mark's lips meet yours in a quick kiss that barely lasts a fraction of a second but wreaks havoc on you the next ones, leaving you lightweight. “he can't have me,” you say, eyes trying to stay open and struggling with your sedated heart.

your stomach is pulled when his mouth collides with yours, increasingly eager, deeper, burdened.

you don't have time to concretize your disordered emotions for him when he comes down again. and this time, he stays longer.

his mouth tastes of lollipops and fresh mint. his kiss is soft yet you feel stuck and short of breath, inviting his tongue to play with yours, melting your insides and leaving you perplexed when he pulls away.

and you've had time to catch your thoughts and put them back in place, falling into fulfillment where you can't escape what you think you know; it's not like you were stupid. “oh, my god. he can pull any girl!” you state dumbfounded, resigned to the meaning you both are aware about and don't want to confess to each other.

because he doesn't know that you know what he know... ?

you're stay in awe when mark kisses you slowly, his lips starting to move sheepishly over yours. his hot breath soaks your tongue in the caramel flavor of his mouth, as he breathes softly, going down a little bit more to kiss you better. “if it helps..., if i were spider-man, i'd choose just you, every time.” his doe eyes gaze at you dazingly and you give in.

“it helps, actually.” a smile emerges on your lips, wanting to meet his again.

mark pulls back slightly and you are a little groggy to pay attention to what he's saying. you barely grasp a little less of the end. “not saying that i'm spider-man, but if i was...”

“mark, i get it.”

you hum. “my boy.”

“you know, just to make it clear, because i don't want you to go around thinking i'm spider-man. i would love to, really. but i'm not. i'm just mark.” you kiss him to shut him up, and he smiles foolishly “your boy.”

AU idea: what if Izuku was born with a perfect combonation of his parent's quirks? telekinesis, pryokinisis and pyro-generation he would be a perfect counter to Bakugo, blocking the blast with his telekinesis and catching the fire with pryokinisis.

I'm going to take one serious liberty with this AU because I thought of this while working on it and I think it's super interesting. In this AU, Midoriya did not go to UA. He didn't even apply. He gave up on being a Hero and went to a well-respected but non-Hero high school, thinking that being in Gen Ed would hurt too much. For the purposes of this AU, the MHA plot is getting stretched out a bit.

The Eight Precepts sold a lot of Trigger to fund Overhaul's bullshit. Some guy got it in his head that shooting Heroes with Trigger would make them better Heroes. Look, compared to Stain this is normal behavior. Uh anyway after darting a few Heroes, this guy's face is known, a Hero recognizes him, a fight breaks out, Midoriya wanted to watch, and oh whoops there went good trigger discipline.

Midoriya figured that he'd need to see a doctor because getting drugged is generally bad, even if, say, it's Trigger and you're Quirkless, but as he made his way towards the ambulance on-scene, he suddenly felt woozy. Halfway there, he collapsed, and everything went to hell. Flames, stuff thrown around, glass breaking, cars overturned, it was a whole mess.

He wakes up in the hospital and has to be told what happened. The Trigger boosted his latent Quirk, forcibly manifesting it and then driving it wild. The Quirk in question is fairly simple. Like Todoroki, it has two functions, Psychokinesis and Flame Generation. He can use the former to control the latter.

Due to the volatile nature of his Quirk and the violent awakening, Midoriya is transferred to a school that can help him properly control his new Quirk. UA.

+1. Bakugou doesn't think Midoriya was hiding his Quirk because he heard about the accident. That does not mean he is happy.

Why do you write Steddie?

They’re just a really fun ship that you can do so many different things with. Just guys who need some healing and loving and I like giving it to them!! Also I see a lot of myself in both Steve and Eddie, so there’s some catharsis in writing them too.

I feel like I’ve written all the canonverse stuff that I wanted to now, so I’m excited to try out some au’s. Maybe once I finish up my current wips, I have this batman Steve and comic book writer Eddie idea that’s been in my mind forever now

What is your writing process like?

I brainstorm by writing down all the ideas I have for a particular story, then I try to organize it into a plot. Sometimes I just plan scene by scene, but I always write the dialogue first and then build around it.

Do you have any writing quirks?

Usually the best things aren’t added until I’m editing at the end, going back and doing finishing touches. Like with Trouble for instance, I didn’t add the kitchen conversation or the porch swing conversation or the joking scene with Gareth originally, it was all stuff I just decided to add when editing. Same for a lot of my fics, usually the things I get comments about the most are things I almost didn’t add.

Do you prefer posting when you’ve finished writing or on a schedule?

I’m the worst at scheduling and posting so whenever it’s done is when it goes up

Which fic are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of Bleed Me Dry Before You Go because it’s the fic that I was really able to put the most of myself into.

How did you get the idea for Trouble Looks Good On You?

Well I knew I wanted to write a sub Eddie discovery fic, and honestly this just started as like a gag, just thinking about Steve’s jock habit of slapping asses and what would happen if he did that to Eddie, and that’s what awakens it. Then it gradually became something more serious and more thoughtful. I wanted to explore more of Eddie having this past where he’s had bad experiences with certain dynamics, and what it would mean for him to be comfortable enough to get to explore that side of himself with Steve.

When writing Trouble Looks Good On You, what was something you didn’t expect?

It started out as mostly crack so I didn’t expect it to become my longest, most character involved fic. Also I didn’t expect people to read it or like it because it was mostly for myself, so I’ve been very pleasantly surprised and grateful for the response to it.

What inspired Wrap Me Around Your Finger?

I realized I hadn’t written a virgin Eddie fic, and at the same time I wanted to explore more of what Eddie’s aftermath in Hawkins would be like, the full extent of his injuries and his reputation in the town, and maybe Steve helping him out, so it all meshed together. I worked on this for like a year so it had many phases, but adding in some Flight of Icarus lore also inspired me to make Eddie more gritty in this, very stubbornly attached to his independence, and I just love the depth it gave him in that fic in the end.

What was your favorite part to write from Wrap Me Around Your Finger?

Definitely all the banter, especially during the smut scenes, love a silly smut scene. Also can’t forget “I made sure there’s no stairs”

How do/did you feel writing A Cup of Good Intentions?

I cried so many times writing that. I just put myself in the position of Eddie and Wayne, thinking about my relationship with my dad. It was cathartic just writing that familial bond between Eddie and Wayne, and how deep that love goes through mourning and missing each other and then actually getting to reunite. It was an emotional one.

What was the most difficult part of writing A Cup of Good Intentions?

The fic had several different tones from grieving to yearning to suspense and also fluff and romance, so it was hard to blend that all together and make it flow without whiplash. Not sure if I succeeded but it was hard to do.

Do you have a favorite scene and/or line from any of your fics?

The cold open in Trouble, where it sounds like they’re hooking up but they’re actually moving an amp, probably the most clever innuendo unfolding I’ll ever make

Do you have any upcoming projects or fics you’d like to share/promote?

I’ve got some stuff for sub Eddie week but after that I’m just focusing on finishing up Trouble finally

If his own quirk even awakened, would he be happy the government didn't make him do it, or would he start fearing his own power? As a kid, he resented his quirk. He finally started to like it, and then when he started his pro hero career, he started fearing it again. It's a self-destructive loop nobody can pull him out of, and it isnt even his fault. This is organized torture all for the sake of another weapon. He just wants to make people feel safe exactly like he did as a kid.

Because under all of those layers he's that exact same kid who just wants to be told he's doing okay, he didn't have the time to heal.

ANYWAY

I wonder with all the other awakenings happening if Copy could awaken itself to force these awakenings without the stress, but that doesn't make particular sense to me so moving onto my other idea. Would Copy self preserve itself and to defend Copy's quirk wielder, would it shut down?

Maybe it would malfunction or get so worn down he needs a break from it all and the government HAS to give him a break, or they find another way to break his quirk so he's only a machine to them.

oh that quirk awakening au angst,, monomas really stuck between a rock and a hard place here. Unforgiving public opinion on one side, and a government ready to take advantage of him on the other. no easy nor good way out.

anyways im gonna make it worse

because the hpsc are the ones that give out the hero licenses, theyre also the ones who can take them away. And they make sure that monoma is well aware of that fact. That in itself is bad enough, but he knows that if he doesnt do what they want, hed never be able to see his friends again. After all, contact with a wanted person is reason enough to strip them of their hero statuses as well, and hed never be able to forgive himself if he took his family friends down with him.

you are 100% correct. the HPSC never outright threatens Monoma—they have to maintain some semblance of deniability—but they do make "suggestions." he has such a unique and potentially dangerous ability. if he isn't willing to do anything in his power to get it under control, then maybe he isn't suited for hero work after all, you know? the current restrictions might not be enough. maybe the public would be better off if his license were revoked until he can pull himself together.

and if Monoma continues to resist the HPSC's attempts to help him, then it would only be natural for them to question where his loyalties lie. after all, why wouldn’t he want to control such a powerful quirk? maybe he’s not just unsuited for hero work—maybe he’s hiding something. doesn’t he want to protect people? or is there another reason he’s unwilling to push [Copy] to its full potential? if Monoma really isn't willing to work with them, then the HPSC has no choice but to assume that it's because he has some sort of ulterior motive. and, were that the case, it would be their moral obligation to take him—and any of his closest associates—in for questioning.

(the idea that he might be labeled a villain and drag his friends down with them does a lot to keep Monoma in line.)

of course, then there's the subtler, more chilling suggestions. for example, if Monoma is struggling to awaken a quirk to save himself, the HPSC suggests that it may help to give him some more personal motivation. it would be unfortunate if someone he cared about were caught in a situation that only he could prevent, wouldn't it? surely then, Monoma would find a way to push beyond his limits and manifest the next awakening.

More of the Avengers AU, from their time living underneath whatever city had all those tunnels.

“Has anything not been to your tastes?” Mobius cocked his head. It had been, almost universally, which bothered Loki. He hadn’t expressed any interest in food, had never even asked Mobius to bring it, but the man showed up like clockwork with meals that were both filling and flavorful. There had been one or two instances where Loki didn’t particularly care for what had been brought, but he ate enough to satisfy his hunger—an unusual change after living so long with that ever-present feeling.  He was used to people trying to curry favor through the use of gifts, but the meals Mobius brought felt different from that.  “Are you attempting to find out what I like best to earn a reward?” Loki asked.  Mobius chuckled again. “Nope, just making sure you have what you need.”  Loki wasn’t sure if he believed Mobius’ motivations were as simple as that. No one’s ever were. When asked what the Mind Stone had showed him, Mobius had answered, Who to protect. Loki suspected there was more to it, but in his current condition he wasn’t up to fishing out the truth.  “Are you sure I can’t interest you in something for your head?” Mobius said, but the quirk of his lips suggested he knew the answer already.  “No,” Loki said, without the irritation he'd expected to accompany the word. “Go away, Mobius.”  “Yes, boss.” Mobius didn’t make much of an effort to hide his grin as got up and let himself out, but Loki chose not to call him out on the impertinence. There had been at least one truth in what Mobius had said during their conversation: the meals were better if Loki ate them while still hot, and he intended to do just that.

MARIN'S POV

The event was nearing its end when we left the special screening of an All Might documentary.

Midoriya-kun, obviously, couldn’t stop talking when there—his eyes practically glowing with excitement and admiration as everything coming out of his mouth was about his mentor. At one point during the session, I asked how they met in the first place. Midoriya-kun spoke so fast, but what I got was that it had something to do with him jumping in front of a villain to save his friend Kacchan (who’s Dynamight?!), All Might taking him under his wing as a disciple, and his late-blooming quirk awakening.

Damn, Midoriya-kun had a crazy teenagehood, no doubt about that.

Someone told us to shut up—so we focused on the documentary and picked up the conversation again after the session ended.

He told me how hard it was—and I didn’t doubt it for a second. Broken bones. Always having to give his best—because everyone was already ahead of him, given how late his quirk had developed. Always having to do more because if he didn’t, it wouldn’t be enough to become the hero he wanted to be. A hero who saved everyone, no matter what, always with a smile; 

“Kitagawa-san, I want to be a hero strong enough that no one would have to worry about me.” as he said at that moment too (That stuck with me. Stuck—Why?). A hero who honored his mentor’s legacy.

As he spoke, I couldn’t help but think about the enormous sense of responsibility he had with all of it: becoming the hero he always dreamed of, fighting to protect people…

Slowly, the outlines for my article started to take shape in my mind. One that wouldn’t just honor All Might’s legacy but would do justice to Deku’s. His own. As Deku.

That’s what I wanted to do—what I wanted people to know. I wanted people to experience how genuine, hardworking, sincere, and real Pro-Hero Deku was.

“Oh! And All Might was also my teacher, back at UA. He was an amazing mentor! He really was! He really took care of me—even when I didn’t deserve it. I learned a lot from him—and from Aizawa-sensei, too.” Midoriya-kun chuckled softly. He seemed to recall those days fondly. “I… I miss him. All Might. It’s been a while since we last saw each other. But we still text all the time!” He stared off into the distance, like he was reflecting for a moment before turning back to me and saying: “I… I hope I can one day be at least 1% of the hero he used to be… I—I already have my own hero path! And I’m following it, o-of course! I’m really happy with that.” He looked ahead, almost nostalgically watching a bunch of kids running around in All Might costumes, holding special trading cards in their hands. I followed his gaze. “But… to inspire people the way he did, inspire them to be the best they can be, overcoming whatever life throws at them… To always go beyond, no matter what…”

Purpose. Determination. That’s what I felt while looking at him now.

“That’s the kind of hero I’m working to be, too.”

The smile of that little girl from early came to my mind—and the gratitude shining on everyone’s faces when they saw him, whether he was stopping a villain or helping out with the simplest task possible. Even the regretful tears of today’s wrongdoers, who seemed like they’d rather die than commit another crime after hearing Deku-kun's words.

The look of admiration from that child who so kindly asked him to sign their school notebook.

“You’re already doing that. A great job. More than that, even.” I spoke softly, kindly—but not as kind as he was. That was impossible for me. I’d known that for a long time. So many smiles, so many admiring looks of ‘I want to be like you’ came to mind, all directed at him. At them. “You know that, right?”

I waited for him to blush, like he usually would. Then I’d laugh and say, ah, Deku-kun, for God’s sake, you need to get used to compliments, man!

But the blush never came.

Deku’s expression seemed to drop—and he became a little distant.

Not shy, not embarrassed—like usual. Just… distant.

“Not enough, though, Kitagawa-san.”

I frowned.

But before I could say anything, one of the kids dressed up and running wildly around Hero-Con bumped into us.

“Oh, sorry, oni-san!” Then he grabbed the hand of the kid next to him, dragging him towards a group of people gathering nearby. “Come on, Tsuki! Let’s go get a Hawks hero tattoo, hurry before they’re gone!”

“I don’t want one of that stupid parrot!” The other one looked surprisingly disgusted. “I want one of All Might! And Red Riot, 'cause he’s so manly!”

“Whatever, dude! Let’s go!”

Midoriya-kun and I watched them run off like two little rockets.

“Oh… Hero tattoo stickers… I always wanted to get one of those when I was a kid…” I heard him say softly, like he was talking to himself. A bit nostalgic, even. He blinked, realizing I was still there. “Kacchan never wanted to get one with me, though, when we were kids. Said it was stupid and useless—since they come off with water. Something about it being for dumb kids—which was funny, thinking about it now. We were kids.” He laughed.

I glanced over at the booth: kids, adults, and teens crowded around it. Some were cheering, others celebrating when they saw the tiny less-than-8cm disposable tattoo fixed on their skin. They were grinning from ear to ear. They looked happy.

I grabbed his hand energetically—I could feel the roughness of his scars, the lines they made against my fingers, the history and effort they carried.

Then I smiled.

“So, what are we waiting for?!” Practically shouting with excitement, practically shouting please, smile like that again Deku-kun, I said: “Let’s go!”

“W-w-what?!”

I was already dragging us over.

“W-wait, Kitagawa-san! W-WAIT!”

Fifteen minutes later, I had a small tattoo of Fat Gum's face hidden on the side of my wrist. Midoriya-kun had one of All Might—comically flexing his muscles.

He stared at the tattoo, a bit goofy, a bit embarrassed, and a bit incredulous.

But he looked happy.

“I can’t believe we did this…!”

“Well, believe it! BELIEVE IT!” I threw my arms up in the air and flexed my muscles. I puffed out my chest—and then struck the same pose All Might was making on his tattoo. Making that face. “YOU DID IT, MIDORIYA-SHONEN! IT WAS YOUR BRAVERY, HOHO.” Then I laughed, all proud, just like All Might would. “It’s never too late to fulfill your childhood wishes, shonen.” I winked.

Midoriya-kun burst into laughter. The kind of loud, genuine laugh that’s just contagious, you know? The kind that makes you want to laugh just from being there, listening to it. His hands held his stomach, tears of laughter streaming from his eyes.

I dropped the All Might pose, grinning widely at him.

Not enough, though, Kitagawa-san.

What makes you think that? That’s what I wanted to ask him as I watched him laugh and laugh, smiling and laughing in that sincere, genuine way he always did. The way he showed it to everyone. What makes you think that, Midoriya-kun?

That’s when I realized: maybe… maybe Midoriya-kun carried more on his shoulders than he let on, more than I had imagined—must be a hero thing… like him. Like them.

Because they carried the same too. They carried the same, and I was too young to understand that back then.

But I’m not a kid anymore.

I can fight to keep others safe now, in my own way. Smiling.

And I don’t need to be a Pro-Hero to do that.

“How long did you practice that, Kitagawa-san?!”

“A month, I think?” I was about to say it was for an All Might cosplay shoot I did a few years ago, but I stayed quiet.

Midoriya-kun’s eyes practically bulged out of his head like they were gonna fall to the floor.

“Whaaaaat?! It took me years!” He sounded half-surprised, half-impressed, and half-indignant. “That’s not fair!”

“I’m a natural, pretty~” I flipped my hair, all smug. “Get over it.”

Midoriya-kun gave me the biggest side-eye in the universe.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that!” He shook his head and started walking toward the exit. I thought I saw a flash of a shy smile on his lips—and that familiar blush again. Huh? “Midoriya-kun? Midoriya-kuuuuun!”

He suddenly stopped in the middle of the path, his head lowered slightly.

“Thank you, Kitagawa-san.” His voice was soft, embarrassed—but sweet, gentle. And when he looked me in the eye, that’s exactly what I saw, too.

I broke into a smile.

“It was nothing, Midoriya-kun! Really!” I winked cheerfully at him, bouncing up to stand in front of him. “That’s what friends are for, right?”

He paused for a second.

And then there it was: that smile again.

“Yeah, it is!” And that laugh, too. “You’re right. It really is.”

“But I’m also your manager, so strike a pose so I can snap a picture of you with that super cool and not-at-all childish tattoo right in the center, please.”

“O-okay.”

“And let’s take a selfie too! Showing off our hero tattoos together! They won’t last long anyway~ We gotta capture the moment!”

AU idea - Alternate Finale for BNHA.

AKA me trying (& failing) to cope.

It makes me very sad that there wasn’t a point in time where Tenko didn’t get to live without All for One’s influence.

I’m thinking of drawing an AU where the final battle was a fight between Deku, the OFA Vestiges, and Tenko- against All for One to take back Tenko’s soul & body.

Tenko, although shattered by the reveal that AFO had orchestrated his life/suffering - would find the resolve to fight back because he wants to see his friends again. He awakens the Restoration aspect of his modified Overhaul quirk and uses that to help defeat AFO.

I like the idea of Tenko, a person who was told all his life that all he’s capable of is to hate and destroy; instead becoming someone who loves and builds.

Tenko uses his new restoration ability to heal the LOV.

Tenko returns OFA to Deku, and though AFO is defeated- the copy of his quirk remains within Tenko.

When the time comes, where Deku finds a successor; Tenko could take away their quirk so that OFA could be passed onto them- and then Tenko would find someone to give AFO to.

The legacy of OFA vs. AFO has ended. A new legacy starts; Where OFA & AFO are a hero duo.

In the meantime- Deku decided to make his Hero Agency double as a Villain Rehab Center.

The whole cinderIzu is great and I welcome with open arms. For my au, I have an idea for them meet.

Again, BK is a footnote in her life and Izumi is not dedicating all her time and energy in thinking of him. (She hears how his quirk remains the same, no quirk awakening bs, how bk's attitude got worse and how Aizawa is sure BK is the future)

Izumi hears about the mpa here and there and ...is not impressed. She needs money, her group can't work by luck...they need ration and more, and Izumi is not happy ReDestro has "schools" for kids to learn their quirks...its just a camp where the kid learns how to use their quirk AND NOTHING ELSE (Geten my be alliterate here)

Stealing from Redestro is not something she can pull off on her own. She needs help to do this heist.

(the quirk schools aren't illegal, per se, but it rubs Izumi in the wrong way. She is right)

Enters Cinder. He shows up with his helmet, all gear up and...well, he too needs money and Mr. Youtsubashi is loaded and if he wants to make quirk schools, fine...let's rob the fucker.

Izumi gawks as Cinder removes his helmet. He is handsome and cute...she wasn't expecting this.

I also live for the moments when a character takes of their mask and reveals to be hot, and Cider isn't the exception. I mean can you blame Midoriya for want him?

Note: Izu probably loves in particular the little scar Cider got in his eyebrown, he/she found that detail to be especially sexy.

Is funny you mention the whole plot of Cider helping Izu to steal stuff from Re-Destro company, as I also have this idea of him making an operation to steal from a werehouse full of valuable tech and support items that Detnerant (I think that's the company name) sells into the black market.

They would have success stealing a lot of merch they later sell to get money, but also Cider found a particularly expensive prototype of a high tech glider he decides to keep for himself and use to compliment his surfing style. As Mizunami is really into surfing in my AU, like he seems to be in canon.

Oh I forgot to mention before but the vigilante name Cider/Mizunami will use for my AU will be "Splashdown". Be free to use it if you like the name.

And since you mentioned Geten here, do you think he will have some role in the story? As I mentioned before I love the idea of Cider being a Himura, but also he probably was rejected by his clan because his quirk is water instead of ice and the Himuras seems to be the kind of elitist jerks to would dishonor a child for born with a "imperfect" quirk.

Which would create a lot of tension between Cider and Geten, especially is they reconogice each other. Geten hating Cider for being "a failed Himura" and Cider will hate Geten because he's just a "an attack dog" for Re-Destro.
