you ever have characters you kind of just MISS and it's like. . . more fun to miss them fondly then it is to go back to the media they're from?

In the early days of these accounts, you were asked what characters in media/history inspire Creek/Lake. Now that we’re getting closer to the end of the campaign, are there any new inspirations for the character?

Yes, Creek in her conception was a runaway, scared of failure and attachment, only feeling connected in the context of a chase. She started as Remy a rat with a dream, but the forests surrounding Curious were not Paris, the many places she has gone with her new friends, finding Jerry and getting her to safety, I think Lake might not ever find her Paris, I guess riding horses isn't a place specific kind of passion. It is a people specific one, those she rides with is what is important.

Another influence was Quinten Coldwater, mostly for the name, but also that kind of depression and obsession that play with each other. A love of magic (horses) but a frustration with and an inability to go on with or without it. I think Lake has left that behind a bit. She loves horses and especially Wendy, but her understanding of the world has changed a lot. The magic grad school she got in was in this metaphor, the world beyond her home and the people beyond her home.

I wouldn't say that she is in either of these places anymore, she is very much "along for the ride" in some ways. I think as my first campaign character, that is ok. In other ways Lake is a force of nature, she has spent most of her life living in the forest and in one way or another searching everywhere for ways she can prove herself useful. One thing I didn't expect to have in Lake is this certain amount of intensity, she is often not talking a lot, but when she is she's curt and grasping at metaphor but missing the mark and doubling down and repeating this cycle of trying failing and trying again. I think she is most connected to frustration, kind of in that learning curve limbo where she wants to be further along than she is and is also unwilling to drop the idea that she has come as far as she has.

To answer your question, I don't think I am making a specific effort to pull from other places, I think Lake has come into her own a bit. I'm sure that something is inspiring me, but the collage has gotten so intricate that I can't say one specific inspiration.

Ooooh baby, okay I have so many and non of them are all that comforting. but they make me feel better about existance. They also change over time so these are the main current ones. Steve Harrington, Aegon II Targaryen (yeah no, I know, okay), Regulus and Sirius Black, The doctor (mostly 10 and 11 but they all play their part) and Quinten Coldwater.... Yeah please don't psychoanalys this...

12. what kind of day is it?

It's dark now but it was a really really nice day today! it was sunny but still chilly and wintery. I got a lot of writing done and talked to my friends, so very good day if you ask me.

26. a scenario that you’ve replayed multiple times?

....I may or my not treat myself to a little daydream about people discovering how secretly talented and smart I am and being blown away, Now and then. The other scenarios are NSFW tbh.

33. the last adventure you’ve been on?

I mean I walked my dog on the cliffs of my town today. I also went up to Avebury stone circle the other month. But the last actual, real, adventure was when I went back up to London to visit my friends for Halloween and London Comic Con, very fun adventure.

If there rlly is a “me too” that Jensen ad libbed I’m going to be so fucking angry. I am so fucking sick and tired of all the bisexual representation literally being killed. I’m ducking tired of any other sexuality besides lesbians and gays having no fucking representation at all, same with trans people. I am fucking sick of straight people erasing queer love stories. I am so tired of not having representation and I am getting so fucking pissed off. When are queer people going to stop being unrepresented.

So to the CW, Marvel, and SYFY specifically, stop fucking only giving us gay and lesbian characters. There are more sexualities than those and straight people. Stop fucking making ur bisexual characters bi after they’re dead or only establish them as bi for 2 episodes before u kill them.

Thinking about Eliot in these hours

Not to get angsty but Eliot got completely screwed over in the finale. He was is of my very favorite characters and to watch his story end like this was absolutely terrible.

Eliot was put through a lot through out the series and he was one of the only ones who didn’t get a happy or at least hopeful ending. Eliot had a monster ride around his body putting him through immense trauma for a whole season. Then he finally resolved his feelings for Quinten and went through some actually healthy charater development for once only to have it ripped out of his hand. Eliot lost the love of his life and didn’t even get to say good bye. Eliot then fell for the dark king only to watch him die in front of him. Not only did he lose romantic loves but also most of his friends. He lost Margo. Margo who was a soulmate, who was his best friend and who he loved. He lost Fen. After having to marry her and going through so much together she’s gone from his life too. Sure Kady, Penny and Julia are around but they were never as important to his character as the others.

Eliot at the end of series was left alone with all but Charlton who he was shoved into a one sided relationship with.

This is the last face we get to see Eliot make. This does not look like the face of someone who is happy with this out come. The only reason he’s with Charlton is because everyone he ever loved is dead or missing. His story ends unresolved and with every ounce of character development thrown out the window. 

The magicians had an amazing and complex character named Eliot Waugh and they did him so dirty.

I can’t fucking explain how much I miss Quinten from The Magicians (the show). I related to him so fucking much, it broke my heart during all of his scenes with his mental health and his sexuality. God they really fucked up his character, didn’t they?
