Quilts
Quilting has a long history that can be traced back to ancient civilizations. The earliest known evidence of quilting is an ivory carving of the Pharaoh of the Egyptian First Dynasty, which dates to around 3400 BC.
A quilt is decorative textile, often used as a bedspread, made by stitching together a top, middle, and bottom layer of fabric.
Quilts are practical and beautiful bed blankets that keep you warm on cold nights. Some Quilts are works of art that can be hung on a wall for display. The Tristan Quilt (14th century), made in Sicily, is one of the earliest surviving examples of a decorative quilt.
But Quilts can also be so much more!
Quilts can be loving memories of someone we lost, of our past, of family and can tell a story.
Quilts can be a tribute to our life's work or military service.
Quilts can be a security blanket and support for a frightened child or the sick.
Quilts can be used on windows or doors as draft stoppers like tapestries of old.
Quilts can be used as tents or forts for children's play time.
Quilts can be beautiful, unique gifts for someone else or yourself.
Quilts can be made into practical garments such as jackets, capes & skirts. (Crusaders in the Medieval Days, wore quilted garments under their armor)
Quilts can be used to recover upholstered furniture like stools & chairs.
Prior to the development of the sewing machine, quilting was always done by hand, sometimes with a long running stitch or by hand tying. Women would get together to hold a "Quilting Bee", a group to help complete the hand stitching of a large quilt. Quilts were traditionally made from cotton and when times were tough people would turn old clothing into quilts.  The original Reuse, Repurpose, and Zero Waste!
In today’s world, some will try to tell you that Quilts should only be made from Top Brand Quilting Cottons but really Quilts can be made from almost any fabric: cotton, polyester, wool, flannel, t-shirts, uniforms, etc.

you’re right men famously hate quilts and also only like dark muted earth tones. and if it’s not earth tones it’s GOTTA be football, soccer, golf, or cowboy boot themed (all quilt patterns in this book)

OP didn't even adjust for inflation
I was curious about what my wage and time, plus materials, would bring the cost of a foundation paper pieced and handquilted king size quilt to...and...
Okay, anyone willing to pay this amount will be enough to convince to make something this...outrageous. it'll close commissions for a year or two, and require frequent breaks so I don't burnout.
$23,800 USD.
$27× 900 hours + cost of materials (batting alone will be $200, 25 yards of fabric will be about what i need, i'll kill several rotary blades with all the cutting, and likely go through at least two spools of thread) = final cost
That amount of money will be what it takes to convince me to make this. If you're willing to pay for one of these now, hmu. I'll make the listing.
If you want just a king size quilt top, that's still $6150 USD. I'll need around 25 yards of fabric, a couple spools of thread (or a cone), and two to three rotary blades. This will take around 200 hours for traditional piecing. Foundation paper piecing will add another 100-200 hours easily because I have to print each section of each block, cut them out, fold along the seam lines, cut all the fabric, sew the fabric to the paper, press each seam, trim, rinse and repeat many times, sew the blocks together, remove the paper (sooooo many pieces), make the rows, and sew the rows together. So foundation paper piecing will bring the top to $11,650. For just the quilt top.
If you're 100% certain you want a king size quilt, and you're able to pay, let me know. I'll put the commission listing up for you, and promptly close commissions until further notice.
Money is good incentive.

Texture and Style: How Handmade Braided Rugs Transform Your Space
Tumblr media
When it comes to elevating your living space's aesthetic, few elements have as profound an impact as a well-chosen rug. Handmade braided rugs, in particular, offer a unique blend of texture and style that can transform any room into a cozy and inviting haven. At Casagear, we understand the importance of these versatile pieces, and we're here to show you how they can redefine your home decor.
Unique Appeal
Handmade rugs are a timeless classic that have been cherished for generations. Their intricate designs and rich textures bring a sense of warmth and authenticity that mass-produced rugs often lack. Each one is a labor of love, crafted by skilled artisans who put their heart and soul into every braid. This results in a piece that not only looks beautiful but also tells a story of craftsmanship and tradition.
Texture that Speaks Volumes
One of the other standout features are their texture. Unlike flat-woven or machine-made rugs, braided pieces have a three-dimensional quality that adds depth and character to any room. The braiding technique creates a tactile experience, inviting you to run your fingers over the surface and feel the intricate patterns. This texture can make a significant difference in a room's overall feel, adding warmth and comfort underfoot.
A Style for Every Space
Handmade braided rugs come in various styles, colors, and patterns, making them a versatile addition to any decor. Whether your home exudes a rustic charm, contemporary elegance, or bohemian flair, there's a braided rug to match. At Casagear, we offer a wide selection to suit every taste and interior design scheme.
For a cozy and traditional look, consider a braided rug with earthy tones and classic patterns. They are perfect for farmhouse-inspired spaces or rooms that seek to evoke a sense of nostalgia. On the other hand, if you prefer a more modern aesthetic, opt for pieces with bold colors and geometric designs. These pieces can add a pop of personality to minimalist and industrial interiors.
Transforming Spaces
One of the great advantages of handmade braided rugs is their ability to define and transform spaces. Placing a rug in a particular area can create a visual anchor, drawing attention to specific elements of the room. For example, the right piece under a dining table can delineate the dining area, making it feel distinct and intimate.
In living rooms, rugs can tie together various pieces of furniture, creating a cohesive and inviting seating arrangement. In bedrooms, they can add a touch of luxury and warmth, making the space feel cozy and serene. The versatility of these rugs allows you to experiment with different layouts and arrangements until you achieve the desired effect.
Conclusion
At Casagear, we believe that handmade braided rugs are more than just floor coverings—they are works of art that have the power to transform your space. Their unique texture and style bring warmth, character, and a touch of tradition to any room.
Explore our collection today and discover how these timeless pieces can elevate your home decor.

🧵 ACNH Able Sisters Store Set 🪡
Sims 4, Base game compatible | 48 Now 51 items
(added the awning, chimney, and the stairs as a deco item with no footprint)
All the items you'll need to recreate The Able Sisters cute little shop in your TS4 game. All items came with only 1 swatch each. There are a few items that I added a couple of extra swatches for.
As always, turning the brightness down on functional lamps will make them look better (not overly bright) due to my vertex paint issue in Blender.
Type “ACNH Able” into the search query in build mode to find  quickly. You can always find items like this, just begin typing the title and it will appear.
Use the raise & lower keyboard cheat to put your already styled mannequins onto the displays. The displays have slots, but mannequins will only let you place them on the floor, and won't allow styling once they have been raised, so make sure to do that first. They only need to be raised 1-2 notches depending on which display you are placing them on.
Use the scale up & down feature on your keyboard to make the items larger or smaller to your liking. If you have a non-US keyboard, it may be different keys depending on which alphabet it uses.
I hope you enjoy! ☺️
Set contains: Buy: -Books Decor | 1 swatch | 70 poly -Display Tables 1-4 (for mannequins, slotted but see note above for using mannequins on tables) | 1 swatch each | 126, 594, 250, & 148 poly -Dresser Table (functional dresser) | 4 swatches | 796 poly -Fabric Crate | 3 swatches | 1156 poly -Fabric Cubby (slotted) | 1 swatch | 644 poly -Fitting Room Curtain | 1 swatch | 3482 poly -Framed Quilt (storefront) | 3 swatches | 44 poly -Framed Quilting (2 framed squares) | 1 swatch | 86 poly -Framed Wall Photos | 1 swatch | 376 poly -Hanging Flowers | 1 swatch | 778 poly -Hanging Quilt | 1 swatch | 590 poly -Jars | 1 swatch | 1815 poly -Label Doll | 4 swatches for facial expression | 6956 poly -Lamp: Indoor | 1 swatch | 740 poly -Lamp: Outdoor | 2 swatches | 282 poly -Large Baskets (slotted) | 3 swatches | 822 poly -Mabel Doll | 4 swatches for facial expression | 6200 poly -Pencil | 1 swatch | 70 poly -Potted Plant | 2 swatches | 776 poly -Rug: Fitting Room 1 | 1 swatch | 10 poly -Rug: Fitting Room 2 | 1 swatch | 34 poly -Rug: Large | 1 swatch | 587 poly -Rug: Sewing | 1 swatch | 108 poly -Sable Doll | 4 swatches for facial expression | 6200 poly -Sewing Machine | 1 swatch | 1976 poly -Sewing Table | 1 swatch | 224 poly -Sketchbook (slotted for pencil or whatever!) | 1 swatch | 542 poly -Stool End Table (Dressing Room) | 3 swatches | 298 poly -Store Sign (storefront) 6 different items for different languages (English, French, German, Italian, NL, Spanish) | 1 swatch each | 1194 poly -Store Sign 2 (hanging) | 2 swatches | 174 poly -Store Window Display | 1 swatch | 820 poly -Tailoring Machine 1-2 (screen glows in the dark) | 1 swatch each | 462 & 736 poly -Tool Basket | 1 swatch | 721 poly -Wall Hanger (dressing room) | 2 swatches | 324 poly -Wall Hooks Panel | 1 swatch | 380 poly -Wall Mirror | 1 swatch | 44 poly -Wall Spools | 1 swatch | 894 poly
