The one good thing that came out of Carlie Cooper's existence is that in QuilSniv's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, she ended up being paired off with Yuri Watanabe and it actually worked pretty well.

Isn't it strange how a lot of MJ critics use the "SHE'S TOO BEAUTIFUL" argument to justify why they hate her? Yet I don't hear that same reasoning for Gwen, Felicia and the other love interests.

Wait scratch that - I did hear those same reasons directed towards other Spidey girlfriends. MJ tends to get the brunt of the storm.

Get it? Storm?

So MJ, Gwen, even Debra Whitman, they're too beautiful for poor wittle Bae-B Parker?

Your hapless totally realistic character can't be in a relationship with conventionally attractive women because that's unrealistic? Yet Peter himself is acknowledged within the Marvel universe as attractive and dare I say sexy?

Yet certain writers wanted to pair Peter up with an Asian beauty whose entire conception revolved around pairing Peter up with someone with the same exact powers as him. Because OF COURSE he'd go out with someone with the same powers as him. 😑

Silk is not like other girls but yet she has... a conventionally attractive design!!!!

Even before the Event that Shall Not Be Named occurred, Marvel tried pairing Peter up with a Stacy cousin and later a woman who, in another life, could have been his fricking DAUGHTER!

Lastly who can forget our true Lord and Savior CARLIE COOPER!!! You know, one of the most obvious examples of Relationship Sue ever, who stole a bunch of traits from previous love interests. Who leeched spotlight meant for his established final love interest (and the plot as a whole)? Who apparently was made because she and Peter both like science? Bitch was so inconsistent she didn't even have a design! No seriously her appearance often changed EVERY time she appeared because the artists couldn't figure out a look for her and settled on generic Nerd.

Because she and Peter are nerds so they HAVE to be together!

Even though later issues would sexualize Carlie, including the issue where she almost got a Green Goblin tattoo to spite Peter.

They made such a good couple! NOT!

Peter and MJ couldn't have their kids, yet Quesadilla saw fit to name his little Pet Character after his own kid!

God, the comics and writers were so full with shit back in the day! Thinking about all this makes me so furious!!
