Had to share this passing thought bear with me.
Qui-Gon lives au he's a General in the clone wars which Clone would be his Commander?
Obviously Fox. Obi-Wan has his own army to deal with they need someone else to do Qui-Gon's paperwork and rein in impulsive need to follow the Force's will which works well when you're in a small group but not when you're leading an army.
Fox benefits in that this is actually excellent enrichment for him and Qui-Gon will let him use his name and forge his signature as he sees fit.
This all is the worst case scenario for Quinlan Vos who now has to do the walk of shame in front of Qui-Gon Jinn for the second time in his life.
#Qui-Gon jinn#commander fox#quinlan vos#quinfox#qui-gon lives au#implied quinobi#although it probably could have been all three of them obiwan probably works with quigon a lot

~Chapter 2: Snippet~
Maul is scooped up with the force, left helpless and suspended. He howls about it.
“Wow. Is that… a cat?” asks a mon calamari coming over to look at him.
“I believe so,” Kenobi replies, “Though it needs a bath rather badly.”
The force which has him pulls Maul back to the medical bed, and gently holds him there. It smells terrible in here, like antiseptic and bacta.
“No kidding… but don't they hate water?” The mon cala asks.
“Bant my dear, I honestly have no idea,” Kenobi offers, “I've never seen one outside of holos before.”
“The horns are so cute…” the healer muses, pulling a scanner from her belt. “...looks like it's a ‘him’? He's intact too. I hope you aren't looking to get him neutered, I don't know how.”
Neutered?!
Cursed or not, Maul is going to kill these jedi.

Thoughts on Xanatos in the Jedi Apprentice Books (so far)
m reading the jedi apprentice books for xanatos lore. im here for my blorbo who did it all. i do see why the obi-wan whump enjoyers got onto this, there is so much bad stuff happening to obiwan.
In summary-
Qui-Gon:
“Why was it so hard for Qui-Gon to trust him [obi-wan] still? Because I trusted another. I trusted Xanatos completely, and disaster was the result. The sense of loss was so great that even now Qui-Gon felt it like a living wound. He’d rather have taken a dozen blows from the pirate chieftain’s vibro-ax than to ever feel such loss and pain again.”
Me: xanatos mention!!! 🥺 🥰 🎉 🍿 <- eating popcorn
Xanatos: *haunting the narrative*
Obi-Wan: *numerous injuries, passes out, develops a dangerous fever, blames himself for everything*
Xanatos's entrance in the second book is brilliant. thats my blorbo, hes shown up late without starbucks and hes definitely up to something.
“The door suddenly flew open. A young man stood in the doorway. His shiny black cape was lined in a blue so deep it was almost black as well. A broken circle scar marked his cheek. Qui-Gon's gaze locked with the intruder's. The moment hung suspended in the air. Then, to Qui-Gon's surprise, Xanatos broke into a delighted grin. "Old friend! So you are here. I hardly dared to hope." Xanatos strode forward, handsome and commanding. His black hair flowed to his shoulders, and his dark blue eyes matched the lining on his cape.”
the only warning qui-gon got of this was an ominously vague note:
"“I have been looking forward to this day." The message had included a small drawing of a broken circle next to Xanatos' name — there was a gap where the ends should meet. It was a reminder to Qui-Gon. A taunt. Xanatos had a scar on his cheek in that form. Qui-Gon meditated on the message again, letting all the possible implications come to him. He could be walking into a trap. Or Xanatos could be playing a game with him. He could be galaxies away right now, smiling at the idea the he made his former Master shudder in fear at the sight of his name.”
now im thinking about an all is well au where xanatos is a jedi and now a knight. he still gives his former master heartattacks leaving ominously vague sticky notes in unexpected places and kiddnapping his apprentice. but instead of for evil, he is taking obiwan out for milkshakes at dex's, feeding him too much sugar, running around the city together and doing things that obiwan would think quigon would not let him but qg probs actually would. xanatos is a teeny bit desperate for his padawan brother to like him that hes resorted to both blatant attempts at bribery and asking feemor's advice, not that he'd admit to any of it.
whats driving me mad is that in the comics (THERE ARE XANATOS COMICS OF HIS LAST MISSION AS A PADAWAN AND FALL THAT HARDLY ANYONE SEEMS TO KNOW EXIST GO READ THEM AND SCREAM WITH ME), he clearly has light brown hair as a teenager, not black, and his eyes are brown that looks sometimes murky greenish or hazel depending on the lighting/colouring consistency but unmistakably not blue. i need an explanation other than inconsistencies in the text. the hair is explained by xanatos dyeing it for goth purposes, but the eyes? darksider burning orange would not be unexpected, but not dark blue. i think the answer could be that he's wearing coloured contacts to cover the darkside orange then chose blue both cause its different from his natural eye colour and for dramatics. also we need more brown-eyed characters, im sick of everyone having blue eyes as default.
okay back to reading the books, i simply needed to ramble. this will happen again.
he's my blorbo as in im grabbing him and shaking him in a most feral way. why im suddenly so obsessed. also why did they make him pretty with his swooshy cape and swooshy black hair and dubious intentions, that was somehow a choice made there. i want that cape.

skeleton crew season 1 finale questions and theories under the cut:
10/10 I loved it I was yelling while standing in front of the screen holding my face the whole time
OK, I’m gonna stay up front. I have been purposely avoiding lots of conversation about this because I wanted to see where the show was gonna take it. So if I’m saying something that was clearly obvious to someone else I’m open to hear things that I missed or different theories. I also have no one in person to discuss this with so it’s all being thrown up here:
I’m extremely intrigued about that lightsaber and who it belong to. I know realistically this is something that we most likely will never find out, but I want to know who it was and how was it obtained. It was in pristine condition. It wasn’t battle worn, it wasn’t broken. It was looking practically new, which means that either it was taken from a Jedi as a trophy or it was found. As a high/old republic gold and white silver colors, that saber was old. It could have totally be silver and black placing it slightly before/IN the clone wars, but its colors are so distinct!!
Similar to how cal kestis had discovered the whole underground OG Jedi force users infrastructure on Koboh. Along with the left over back up plan of the Jedi order if eveything fails. (Guys I’m still playing the game there’s more to it I’m sure)
So back to the “now” Jod not only being smart, but minimal with his force control was giving me a lot of different vibes. So he was found by a Jedi and trained. Idk why but I was picking up betrayed by the Jedi, similar to Ahsoka, or falling away from the Jedi ways for personal gain or survival. (After having to watch his master fall). I am also aware that could just be a regular force sensitive person that was trained in ways of the Jedi within his own survival. But I keep feeling like there’s more than that? I might be grasping at more than what’s there, I’m sure.
I don’t see him as sith considering how he’s reacted with the kids this whole season. It was giving maul and Ezra vibes, but had less of mauls “join my side” and more of “I just need you to do as i say”. After the finale and the end credits, you can see he was a “Padawan” and had been trained. It makes me wonder if his former master knew quigon because of the quote he said, or if it was a more popular quote within the Jedi than we’ve been informed. Sort of like the “live laugh love” quote of the Jedi.
Even coming up against a Sith in battle. From the end credits, I don’t see him as sith. Just a survivor.
I’m furious (because cliff hanger) that they left Jod in an open window without telling us what happened. Which I hope leads to a second season, but there was no hint of his standpoint, not even attribute to the original long John Silver of getting away with some sort of credit.
I noticed the slight shift in his facial expression when he was called out, and it was giving a different personality than the one he was trying to portray. Almost like Wim was talking to Jod’s former padawn self. But Jod, giving the true “long John silver vibes” of “wim you’re a good kid, I’ve made bad decisions and I’m watching my defeat happen in real time”.
What instantly boggled my mind was how long has at-attin not only started, but how long has it actually been running. Regardless of it having Old Republic credits and being a perfect time capsule up until now; the supervisor being a droid wasn’t unexpected. With a perfect society like that, I expected a droid to be running it. It’s giving “going to mars to start a new population” vibe. But for the sake of the republics money creation’s secret bank planet.
the fact that the planet had been hidden for so long, BUT the supervisor was receiving active information of what was going on from the Galactic Republic up until ORDER 66. The supervisor calling out that Jedi were the enemy makes me highly confused of the planets loyalties. If the planet was creating Republic credits and they had not received an adversary to pick them up, but the supervisor received an update of order 66???
When was the last time the supervisor had received contact from outside the planet? And who was sending them??
Was the supervisor aware of the clone wars? was it aware of all the political changes up until the first galactic empire was established?? I understand that the droid was programmed to keep the planet running, which makes me wonder at-ackran, if the people of the planet fell into survival and “war” because of the pirate that had infiltrated the planet and destroyed the supervisor the same way Jod did for at-attan.
There’s more than enough information to hint at the timeline, which is helpful to the storytelling. But dropping the hint that this planet was aware of order 66 makes me wonder if someone loyal to the republic purposely cut off all ties to the planet for safety the moment order 66 was established. It had to be someone high to dictate a communication with a planet like that.
So if the order had been received galaxy wide, but that’s the last set of communication did someone willingly cut that tie to preserve that old republic credit safety or was there more to the story that we didn’t know because Jod shut down the supervisor?
I was genuinely yelling at my screen the later half of the finale. There’s notes I’m sure I missed this is purely an after the episode word vomit because I’m grasping for more details I’ll probably never receive.

@pickleprickle found a little something for you! I think I need to write a Sith Obiwan, he needs a Sith name though, I think in a universe where Obi-wan fell to the dark side it goes one of two ways; option one: he fell after Quigons death and he killed Maul and just never returned to the Order. Option two has two possibilities: either he fell to the dark side after he killed Anakin on Mustafar and realized it was the fault of the Jedi that this happened and how corrupt they were. Possibility two is very similar in that Anakin realizes he’s attacked Padme and thinks he killed her so he turns his lightsaber on himself, Padme later lives long enough to deliver but when she’s told Anakin is dead she looses the will to live and Obi-wan is completely lost and picked up by Palpatine or maybe he kills Palpatine and he takes the name Darth Solitus, drawing from the Latin word “Solitus” meaning “alone” or “solitary” and I think it definitely reflects on the solitude and emotional detachment that characterizes Obi-wand Jedi personae. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

Considering writing a small segment that will inevitably turn into larger arc in my Kitsune!Anakin verse where he is suddenly in a similar position that QuiGon was in with him.
Planet is being overtaken by Separatists and the Republic come in to sort that out and at the same time they discover a slavery situation. Separatists using the native residents as slaves is nothing new by this point except... they lose to the Separatists. The Republic is ordering them to concede as its too much effort to secure this one planet that doesn't have enough going for it to warrant the resources being spent on it. Nobody is happy about this.
The Jedi do not have clearance to get further involved as they were only there to drive off the Separatists. Now they have to leave. They are not happy about this either.
Anakin is practically chomping in fustration and is sniffing around to find any excuse to have them stay and sort out this mess when one of the slaves find him. Mind you, he's quite the prominent Jedi and his image as a Kitsune has spread quite far now. This slave sees him, knows that the Seps are not going to be pleased after having the Republic on their turf and causing collateral damage, so in a desperate plea she foists her kid on Anakin.
The child can move things when she's scared, it's already caught the attention of their slavers and the mum needs her kid off planet now.
All Anakin can think of is that day his mum let him go, to free him from that life. How much she must have loved him to do that and he can see that same love and dedication in this mother's eyes now. She trusts him to keep her daughter safe, she has no idea he has already lived this moment from the child's point of view.
He realises what he can do.
Anakin takes the daughter and takes her back to his troops. Obi-Wan sees what he's done, what was asked of him and they find their loophole. If the parents ask to take their children to be trained as Jedi, under the assumption they are force sensitive, war has got nothing to do with it. The Senate can't stop them. Whether all of them actually show force sensetivity is a bridge they can cross later. They can't save the adults right now but they do have a way to help the children.
They gather all the kids the parents are willing to part with - which is nearly all of them - and take them back to the Temple. Some are discovered to be more force sensetive than initially thought but others are completely null. Those not to be trained can still be kept safe in the Temple, for they are wards of the Order until better fostering arrangements can be made. There are more than just Jedi within the Temple walls.
Those to be trained would probably be kept in the same group to not overwhelm them in a new environment after a traumatic experience. Clans are taught side by side for classes anyway so there's plenty of chance for integration and they are young enough to mingle.
Clans usually get given names, like Bear, Krayt, etc, but these kids want the name Kitsune Clan. After the beast that carried them to freedom.
Anakin has no idea.

people don't play enough with anakin's jealousy towards obi-wan and i'm of the opinion that there's a very strong possibility he would not have been on good terms with obi-wan if qui-gon lived and taught him. wonder if you agree on that?
like i'm not into quiobi but there was one fic where quigon + obiwan were basically married but split because qui-gon would constantly take anakin's side over obi-wans and it was good shit. good good shit, anakin needs to be ruining obi-wan's life at all times.
what if i told you i have a "qui-gon lives and trains anakin therefore making anakin and obi-wans relationship super fucking weird" wip ... what then ...
anyway. you're so right. i think obi-wan would've just fucked off in the beginning. like "im a knight now im going to go on missions and avoid you as much as possible byeeee" but eventually he comes back around and its Weird. i think obikin in this dynamic would be much more overtly resentful of each other, but its interesting in its own way bc i still think that red thread of fate binds them, and they'd still be sooo obsessed with each other, only now qui-gon is there to witness it and hate it with all his heart.

Finally done with this piece! Nalu O'tekke and Zomm Yu'tura!!! I can finally introduce Nalu and Zomm properly, of course they'll get their own proper posts/drawings soon instead of sketches, but for now enjoy this!
Nalu was born on Iridonia in 54bby, he was found by Qui gon Jinn on Iridonia while he was running away from his parents at the age of 5 (10 in zabrak years as they age faster and live up to 180, more with the force) he was taken to the Temple in 49bby where he was on fight or flight mode 24/7 and only trusted Quigon and Yoda. That's where Zomm comes in and talks to Nalu, helping him get comfortable and sharing his experiences with him to make him comfortable. Of course he..left out some parts because he didn't want Nalu to know too much for obvious reasons. Zomm helped Nalu with.. everything really, and because his Master in 48bby once Yoda thought Nalu was ready. From then on they got into all sorts of trouble because Zomm is a chaotic bastard despite being 148 years old. There was always something about Nalu that made Zomm's hearts hurt (zabraks have 2 hearts) because Nalu reminded him of his older sister who díed when he was 5 in 191BBY while helping him get on a Jedi ship to get off Dathromir since..they were force sensitive and the Jedi went to get them. She díed in the process sadly and that caused him to make a rule for himself to never attach himself to anyone. If that didn't happen he wouldn't care, but since it did-.....yeaaaaa.
This took 50 hours 😀
I spent 45 on the background alone

rough plot outline for the 2 wizard ocs (dubbed oldman and wizard lady)
-wizardry is a learned skill but most people only become an apprentice for a few years to learn some basic skills
-becoming a full fledged wizard, someone who can sit on the council etc takes basically a lifetime dedicated to the art, even when you graduate from formal apprenticeship and theres various stages and trials (you could be a full fledged adult wizard but if you want to go to a higher level of magic you'd have to find a mentor, etc, someone who can vouch for you and teach you throughout the next phase)
-wizard girl was in some kind of communal living situation for children (like an orphanage but children could be given up if their families cant afford care) and was taken on by oldman wizard as an apprentice when she was around 10-12
-this was super rare as he hadnt taken on an apprentice in decades, and his reputation was a stubborn loner who constantly butted heads with the council and disliked teaching, so everyone was like ????? okay give it a year youre not gonna last
-unfortunately he is stubborn and picked the other most stubborn person in the realm aka a 12 year old girl with something to prove
-given the nature of wizard apprenticeships she was basiaclly a live in apprentice, and given her age and lack of parental figures he (for better or worse) was the closest thing she had to a father. unfortunately he sucked ass at any kind of parenting and she was very similar to him (antisocial, stubborn, very driven) so they did not bring out the best in one another personality wise. but they Did bring out the best in eachother Magic wise . they are close. they cant stand eachother. no one really gets it
(toxic tragic mentor trope hiiii i am calling!!!!!)
conflict i think?
-new character (am i making a new oc or dropping in an old one to combine my stories? idk yet) , promising youth looking to learn magic
-oldman decides to take on the role of mentor. this is decades after wizard lady, shes pretty much a full fledged wizard by now
-once again everyone is shocked. this is not a man who takes on apprentices with One notable exception
-wizard lady is Pissed bcus she's about to take the trials and move onto the final stage of her studies so now is a Terrible time for oldman to get a new apprentice since that will take all of his time up when she actually needs his ass
-hrmmm what kind of compromise will we have to work out. will new girl get two awful teachers. will old man die like quigon jinn and make her train the new girl liek obiwan and anakin?
find out next time (i dont know)

Princess Jedi
Support Jedi au
Support Jedi are a type of Jedi that help a Jedi line prosper. Gather information, healing, helping train padawans, maintaining gear, delighting with the politicians, up keeping the lines apartment, keeping traditions, scheduling and keeping up with classes.
Each Jedi line has an apartment with four bedroom and a main living area with a kitchen and a small garden area. Grandmasters get the biggest room. The knights get two medium sized rooms, though if a line has more than four knights they share the medium rooms. Support Jedi get a modest sized room but they have the window and a private freasher with a good sized wardrobe.
Because a support Jedi spend a lot of time with politicians, their robes are often more stylish and have pattens. That’s why the nickname ‘princess’ Jedi is often thrown around
Support Jedi can actually marry, but only inside the Jedi temple and has to be courted.
Support Jedi blesses the home and the newly knighted Jedi.
All Jedi are required to go to classes, even grand masters but only one a month. A normal Jedi goes to classes twice a week. Same for Support Jedi
While the knights have the council, the support has their court. Since the joking name of support jedi is princess. The head of the court is the Queen, no matter what gender
The court keeps the halocorns, the archives and relics of the Jedi order, halls of healing and lastly the classes.
The court has its own rules and trials (need to flesh that out)
Some Jedi believe that the support Jedi are simply Jedi that couldn’t cut it.
Benefits of being a successful support Jedi. Access to the lines credits, days off, clothes, marriage (if wanted) access to the deepest part of the archives and relics. Also protection by the Jedi line. (If you mess with Obiwan? Not only do you get you’re teeth kicked in by Anakin, but Dooku and Quigon as well)

I’d be interested to see what you’ve got for your OC Obi-wan Insert?
Ah, another WIP Wednesday ask! Thank you.
Honestly I should rename it Weekday WIP at this point alfjksjd. Also this ended up being WAY longer than originally anticipated, my bad lmao
__
“You fought well, but you hold much anger within you.”
Obi-wan Kenobi pulls up short, blinking rapidly as they stare at the absolute goliath of a man that looks over them. There’s something about the guy’s presence that almost feels threatening, in a way. The emotions that emanate from him, what little can be sensed past the impressively fortified shields that befit any master, are tinged with something that tastes like judgement and final resolution.
As if this man had taken one look at Obi-wan before they had even stepped out into the tournament ring and had already decided his opinion of them.
Which is exactly what Quigon Jinn had done. In fact, even before setting eyes on Obi-wan, they know that Jinn had already made up his mind. Coming to the tournament to watch them fight had the sole motivation of finding some excuse to reject them as quickly as possible.
Which is fine. Jinn doesn’t want a padawan and Obi-wan knew that from the beginning. In fact, they find the meddling of the council — or perhaps one person on the council — quite insane and manipulative. They had no right to force Jinn to basically adopt another child when he didn’t want one.
And trying to force a child upon someone who doesn’t want one never ends well, so isn’t that sort of like putting Obi-wan themself in danger?
So, in this one thing, Obi-wan is on Jinn’s side.
But nowhere else.
Obi-Wan wants to scowl. They already have the answer to this. They have their entire life here. Quigon Jinn is a nonentity.
Except, here he is. Here to bring the mood of the room plummeting down.
Instead of scowling, though, they keep their face passive. There’s little need to give Jinn even more ammunition. Even if the fact that this grown ass adult man has decided to scorn a child for something out of either of their control absolutely burns.
“Everyone holds anger within them, Master Jinn.” They reply politely, sketching a bow that they already know doesn’t have a single fault. The very perfection of it makes Jinn’s frown even more severe. “It’s the consequence of sentience, to have emotions about the universe around you.”
It makes Obi-wan want to needle the man even more.
“Allowing those emotions to control you is a very different matter than simply having them, Initiate Kenobi.”
Wow, the emphasis on that word, as if this grown ass man is trying to make a clear point. Well, point very much made!
The gall.
Obi-wan takes a slow, steadying breath, passive mask barely flinching. Inside, though —
Maybe Jinn is right. They are filled with rage. Curious, however, that the only time they’ve ever felt like this is when confronted with Jinn himself.
Really makes one think.
Theyre lost in thought, they realize, and flit their eyes upward again just in time to catch Jinn shaking his head firmly.
“I will not take you as my padawan.”
Obi-wan simply blinks.
Feeling uncharitable, they reply, “Master Jinn? Were you looking for one? It’s only; last that I heard, you were against the notion.”
That gets him. The man straightens up, blinking in a somewhat startled fashion before his expression goes purposefully blank.
Obi-wan does not allow any victory to show on their face.
“I’m sorry if you were disappointed in my tournament exhibition. Now that the topic is brought up, though, I must say that I have to agree with you. As a practitioner of the Living Force, you’re absolutely correct to pass over me as a student. Our paths in the Force are far too different to work well together.” Obi-wan shrugs lightly, glancing across the room to watch impassive masters and knights pass by on the catwalk below the viewing room that they’re in.
He turns back to find Jinn staring at him with an unreadable expression.
“It’s unwise to claim that you have little to learn from me. Arrogant, even.”
It’s not like he even wants to be their teacher anyway! Why is he so offended at the hint that Obi-wan might reject him?
Fucking adults and their superiority complexes. Fucking men and their egos.
Also! Putting words into their mouth! That’s one of their fucking pet peeves.
Obi-wan smiles politely, as serene as can be.
Maybe going Sith isn’t such a bad idea…
No. If they did that then maybe the council would send Jinn after them. The consequences were not worth the freedom of being able to do whatever the hell they wanted (and look hot while doing it. Fuck you Palpatine, you did it all wrong).
They let their smile drop. Jinn is a grown man, and he’s right here purposefully antagonizing a child.
They are a child. Just a little twelve year old.
Obi-wan blinks rapidly and breathes in through their nose a little too sharply. They turn slightly to look away, but watch from the corner of their eye as a grimace takes over Jinn’s face.
Eat the consequences of your actions, you sorry excuse of an adult.
“Now, I know that you are close to aging out…” the man begins, likely about to say something along the lines of ‘maybe another master will chose you in the next few weeks’ in an attempt to placate them and stop the floodgates, but Obi-Wan interrupts before he can.
“It’s okay, Master Jinn.” They say, gently. They give the pathetic man standing before them a small, somewhat watery smile. “You don’t have to try and make me feel better. I have to experience feelings for myself or I’ll never be able to understand them and let them go properly. I…”
They swallow, blinking a lot — maybe more than they really need to, their eyes are feeling quite dry despite the tearful quality they’ve achieved — and take a small step back.
“My crechemate, Bruck — my opponent for the exhibition, in fact — taught me that. I’m grateful that he did, because it ensured I knew not to hope for the impossible.”
There’s an uncomfortable expression on Jinn’s face. Obi-wan’s smile widens just barely, and they hope the sharpness of it is still on the inside.
They sketch a light bow, one much stiffer than the one they’d given in greeting initially. Show discomfort, hesitance.
“I have some bags to pack, so I’m afraid I’ll be leaving you first, Master Jinn.” They say. “Please do have a wonderful evening.”
They turn on their heel and book it out of there. Ideally, it looks like they’re barely holding back tears and don’t want the esteemed master to see them vulnerable, but mostly they just need to get out of that goddamn room.
Here’s to hoping that they never have to be in the same space as Jinn ever again.
Unfortunately for them, nothing is ever that fucking easy.

Star Wars The Phantom Menace 1999
Movie starts off very strong with showing us battle droids, also I entirely forgot about young Obi-Wan, probably because the sequels are focused aroung young Anakin Skywalker, they also show droidekas and the special battle droid ships that store them like cargo. They really introduce Jarjar like, immediately. within the first 10 minutes practically. And he's here the whole movie? There really is no hope. Wow, turns out r2d2 was in every important plot point ever made, he was just randomly on this ship Obi-Wan and Quigon stole, and they give it to Amidala for, reasons? They're treating it like it's important for fixing the ship even though that's it's job, and it just so happens to be the important robot. In a similar note, it just so happens that the closest planet we need to go to for plot reasons, is tattooine, y'know like the original movies, remember the original movies? Watto is another character that's absolute dogshit, Anakin is here too I guess, y'know like the original movie? Only a true fan will catch that detail. Remember C3PO? From the first movie? He's here too, and it turns out he was also in the plot the entire time. They definitely didn't meet for the first time ever on that ship in the first movie with the escape pod. Anakin was immaculate conception? I guess? Darth Vader is jesus? beginning to think this movie is kind of stupid, also Midichlorians, yeah turns out the magic spirit force was uh, cells, in your blood, that allow you to do magic. Such a stupid thing to add. They don't have coins in the future so Watto rolls a 'chance cube' (2 colored dice) instead to make a bet. The pod-racing is pretty cool though, all the ships make unique noises, some guys explode in a cool way, it's kind of odd there's no music whatsoever and it's just the pod-racing and pilot noises but it's fine. Coruscant is cool, the confederancy in general is pretty cool, what if a planet was entirely a city, and there's even more invisible homeless and suffering population, it makes sense why people wouldn't want to live in the council with what they allow to happen, but they only show the people against it that are evil so, they're the defacto good guys. Maul is so cool, the awesome and iconic song and the reveal of a double lightsaber, no ones ever done that before, it's awesome, and he's evil too its a red lightsaber, truly epic. Good fight choreography too
Despite this movie being largely CGI, and most things being bad because of that, it doesn't actually feel too bad for this movie? It's an older style of CGI that isn't trying too hard to be super realistic, it's like something animated, it just works. The aliens and droids look pretty good but it's a different style than anything created in the original trilogy, oddly combined art-styles. It feels like half the aliens in this movie is just a guy in a costume doing a racist accent, the gungans are a huge example, those 2 or 3 guys who were doing the blockade on naboo were kinda doing a racist japanese accent. Watto, all of Watto. The pod-race announcer looked racist against british people. Amidala is incapable of putting any emotion into her voice, this is true in general of characters in this movie.
Final Review: yeah that was pretty ok, like, it's never going to be the original trilogy but at least it wasn't dogshit? they had a lot of good designs to make toys out of in this one.

I’m glad you enjoy my fics! I will try and explain my thoughts here.
The “Jedi should’ve freed Shmi” and “Are Jedi allowed to have emotions? (they are)” points gave been explained to death by people who aren’t me, and there are several reasonable explanations to choose from (including multiple that they in fact did contribute to freeing Shmi), so I will not rehash those here.
Onto your other point. Shmi being freed is largely a separate question from whether Anakin should be allowed to become a Jedi (I say largely because if he ultimately hadn’t become a Jedi, there would have been way more reason to make a specific effort to free Shmi specifically over the millions of other individual slaves, namely that a child Qui-Gon Jinn took into their care would’ve been without a guardian). The question of whether Anakin retained a relationship with Shmi has nothing to do with his responsibility, because he is, as you say a child—he just needs care from someone, because children do that.
The question of Anakin’s emotions is not about him having emotions, it’s about his emotional maturity. And his emotional maturity is important for the same reason a cop’s emotional maturity is important—because Jedi carry deadly weapons and can kill people if they are not able to manage themselves. I’ll concede to an argument that some of the Quigon—Council argument could’ve and probably should’ve been had behind closed doors instead of in front of Anakin (noting that that is as much qui-gon’s fault as anyone on the council).
The exceptions I was mostly addressing though are the ones that have nothing to do with Shmi. The implication Anakin should’ve immediately been accepted as a Padawan, he shouldve been allowed to marry and he shouldve been made a master without being qualified (or occasionally even “Anakin was justified in killing the Tuskans in revenge”)
The last two are pretty self explanatory in the movies showing that he wasn’t responsible enough to handle them.
The first one is more interesting though because it’s the one where the council did in fact grant Anakin’s the exception, not three days after they denied it!
For their first refusal, I think it’s important to remember that although being a Jedi is cool, it’s not actually essential to anyone’s happiness. Lots of kids don’t get their dream job they wanted at nine years old, and that’s okay. Had Anakin not become a Jedi, he would’ve likely been reunited with a freed Shmi and gone on to live a perfectly normal life, no swords in sight—remember, Palpatine hasn’t spotted him at this point.
When the council changes their mind, it’s after they finally have strong evidence the Sith are back, and after Anakin has become a very visible, force-sensitive, public hero. When they rejects him the first time, it’s because the risk of his immaturity is one that could come with heavy consequences, and also because they recognise that not being a Jedi is a perfectly worth life. There are no downside to him not becoming a Jedi other than a likely temporary disappointment. After Naboo however, there are far more downsides to not training him—being cared for by a civilian he would be at incredible risk of being taken by the Sith, so instead they take the risk of his emotional maturity and raise him in the temple.
Further, the Phantom Menace goes out of its way to show us that leaving Shmi is a decision Anakin understands. Don’t get me wrong, I’m saying it’s not a trauma for Anakin of course it is. But Shmi explains the decision, the narrative makes it clear there is no way for Qui-Gon to free Shmi aside from maybe murdering Watto, and then anakin is clearly sad and will miss Shmi but leaves her because she wants him to be safe. Anakin is an informed agent in the situation as best he can be as a nine-year-old. he understands because Quon explains it to him that becoming a Jedi will mean leaving his mother and that it will be difficult.
It’s possible to interpret everything the Jedi do in a negative manner if you want, but I am not interested in character bashing, and I think all of these arguments are what is intended by the canon information. Sorry the arguments are a little rambling, I started dictating halfway through making this post.
Edit: tldr; this post wasn't about Anakin having a relationship with his mom
Choke (and die): Mace Windu is inherently more violent than other Jedi and that’s why he’s good at fighting
Broke: Mace Windu uses Vaapad as the main mechanism to manage his anger
Woke: Mace Windu is cooler than everyone, and that’s why he can use Vaapad where other people can’t
Bespoke: Mace Windu spent many years learning to manage his emotions, including an especially complicated relationship with protective anger, before ever thinking about developing a new lightsaber form, and that’s why the council was willing to grant him the exception to study Juyo and why he was able to develop Vaapad and use it better than anyone else
Also,
Broke: the Jedi council is rigid and unwilling to make reasonable exceptions
Even more broke: Mace Windu and Ki-Adi Mundi were both the recipients of massive exceptions but this is because of favouritism. The reason the council didn’t want to give Anakin whatever exceptions he wanted is because they hate him
Woke: the council is perfectly willing to make exceptions when the person asking for them is trustworthy and responsible enough to handle them
