A couple style experiment sketches - some old, some new - of Lup, since I’ve missed drawing her.

Been a little tired lately, so I wanted to have a little break from working on some current requests to add two new Lup sketches to this old pile I had.

i don’t have the mental capacity to write a full report on my thoughts for the chuuoku stage, but here’s a condensed list for you lol:

i hated the amount of singing in it and while i can get a gold medal in mental gymnastics to justify it, i still don’t want it lol

otome has the voice of an angel tho LOL

i regret having poked around for spoilers bc nemu experiencing her very own betrayal, the aohitsugi right of passage lol, would have been even more devastating if i didn’t know it was coming

but it did add an additional layer of comedy on inori’s end lol she really did just lie to nemu about not being spy when it really was her ass LOL

having that knowledge that inori would betray her made me notice more clues tho like the way tsukuyomi’s and hers mics paralleled each other’s and they showed those off in the opening dance number lol

could literally cry all day about nemu being brainwashed and the times it started weakening was when she was wondering if she really hated her brother and when she was standing up to chuuoku on behalf of the friendship she had with inori TO BREAK FREE FROM THE TRUE HYPNOSIS MIC ITS DEPENDENT ON BONDS YALL

AND THE WAY NEMU REFUSED TO FIGHT INORI JUST LIKE SAMATOKI REFUSED TO FIGHT SASARA WHEN HE WAS BRAINWASHED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGH—

could also cry all day over ichijiku she was mmmfrrtfghpgf and i just really liked how you could tell she was soft on nemu, like very soft, but was still trying to maintain the leader/subordinate relationship they have like uwu honestly

honobono is an entire fcking menace what a sociopathic queen 🩷

and like literally lmao her solo in this stage takes inspiration from an awich song called bad btch bigaku and yeah honobono sure do have her own flavour of bad btch 🩷🩷🩷

honobono does not want to be understood, much less woobified to uwu soft sad girl, but genuinely i want to know, why is she like that???? what happened lol?????

I really appreciate how hard the dialogue works to convince us that the wibbly computer graphics are in fact an incredibly beautiful and advanced ship.

"The last time you vouched for a doctor, we had three dead bodies, the station was trashed and an Ikarran war machine was shooting at everything." - I also appreciate that in Babylon 5 they don't suffer from Star Trek End of Episode Amnesia Syndrome.

The interaction between Jacobs and the guy selling Identicards is great; Babylon 5 criminals have common sense.

"So, powerful and mysterious alien, I just so happened to be spying on your ship that you didn't want people to look at..." - Sheridan really isn't the best at the whole diplomacy thing, is he? I'm impressed that his approach actually works.

The way they circumvent Cranston and his team is great.

"To see what you really are inside that encounter suit" - I get where they're going with this but the way it's expressed just sounds pervy, like Sheridan just wants to get Kosh naked.

This is such an elegantly plotted and constructed episode.

And it was alive! I knew it!

Othil is the smallest continent in Voturn, it's particularly notable due to its bird like configuration. Othil isn't populated by many individuals, those who are there are primarily fae and of avian fae ancestry or directly linked. The majority of other inhabitants of the continent are various species of avian who primarily thrive in heavily wooded areas or the sparse land near the sea.

Another notable feature of Othil is the migratory pattern of the avian on the island are towards the south east region where an island, known as the Eye of the Avian is located. Here, a particularly large number of the animals breed and lay their eggs.

Othil is primarily a location for zoologists to come and research the avian in this habitat, and especially becoming more populous during the migratory season, with local guides as the leaders of these small expeditions. It is a difficult group to become apart of and to be invited to Othil for these research trips, so anyone who is invited tend to take the time there seriously.

aziraphale is the thing you need but cant catch. humans thought he didn't exist, didn't know he was there until they went poking around, but he's been here the whole time. he is the gentle breeze tickling your neck on a cold day, the force keeping you on this earth and said earth from spiraling, the gales from the mountaintops and the hand who delivered the apple from newton's tree (only for knowledge, only for them, for Good, only for Good). you need to keep him, you need the air to stay clean so your children can breathe without oxygen tanks and respirators, but without even knowing he's been pulled down, down, down to you. polluted by the factories, life, and retrograde. it's slow damage. will he ever go too far? will he ever let the earth fall? no. it's never been considered. (not if he can help it.) whatever damage he has to take, it's worth it. the humans just have to keep living, and he will have succeeded. it would be fixed. they would fix it. (that's all there is to it, really.)

crowley is the thing you need but you can't keep right. the one you can see, the one you can't see without, and there needn't be a discovery to find him. (he already knows. he just needed to ask the right questions.) he is the ocean's current, the flickering bulb hung in your parents' basement, the needles in the sky and the sweat running down your back. you see him, you bask in him, but you can't keep him. the sun is always meant to fall in the distance, even on the longest of summer days. it can't follow you forever, it wants to follow you forever, but your figure is shouded in shadow and that is the one place it cannot touch. when you're sitting there, brooding in a moonless night that you wrought (you couldn't help it, you had to ask him), you long for the morning. you can't stop and neither can he, but you can't take him for granted until it's gone. you always did, though. not meant, never meant, but there you are.

can you imagine a world without rain? without wine? wood? clouds? words? no, not at all. preposterous, that is, there's never been an earth without the pair of you, never been a chance to learn. the world is you, and the world is him. you can't imagine a place without him--there would be no sight. he can see a life without you (he can't help it) but it is dreary, empty and weightless.

you would expect the rays to follow you, yeah? when you head up to the attic to read, or trudge down to the london underground for a ride, you would think that the warmth would spread. set in your bones, like a stubborn chill. you brace for it, looking for the nearest window Above or Below--but it is just out of reach. silly, you think, to expect the light to defy it's power just for you. it's done it before, mirrors and smoke, but not today. you left, and it remained.

and that's the problem. there is only sulfur in hell, and there are no windows in heaven. you can't ask the sun to rise--he will come when he is ready. he is that sun, and you are the core of the earth. he threatens to get close, step far out of line, but you fall back and continue your dangerous orbit knowing damned well what would happen if you deviate. it's worth the risk--you can't comprehend a life any other way.

you watch, from afar.

you bask, at a distance.

you duel, with invisible swords and imaginary flintlocks.

and you will dance, fingers threatening to lock and millions of miles set in between.

And a new intro! I'm trying to stay open-minded here but I DON'T LIKE IT. Sinclair definitely had a better voice for this.

I'm enjoying all the helpful exposition for people who haven't seen season 1, but it's interesting that "We still don't know what Ambassador Kosh looks like inside his encounter suit" is on the list. Clearly this is important in some way. But also, Ambassador Kosh hasn't seen you naked either, Ivanova.

I'm intrigued to find out if the new Sinclair-the-ambassador storyline will play out entirely in Sinclair's absence. Given real-world events, presumably?

I really enjoyed Sheridan being interrupted in the middle of his tedious good luck speech.

"Hi," said Lennier, "would you like me to explain a season's worth of mysteries for you? Grand, so."

Those were all the answers I thought we would get at the end of season 1.

At least I understand why season 1 had so many soul-themed episodes now.

Okay LOOK I know I don’t post my own writing here anymore unless my arm is twisted and I KNOW that I haven’t posted about GitM in the longest freaking time but three of my FNAF fanfics are edging close to 100 kudos and I just think it’d be really funny if this one got there first-

Tomorrow I’m going on a 7-day long hunger strike. I’m doing this in solidarity with the starving Palestinians in Gaza, who’ve been enduring horrendous conditions for more than half a year now—so much so that the IPC projects 1,701,000 Gazans, essentially half of the entire Gazan population, to be in IPC 5 (catastrophe/famine) by July 2024.

I’ve raised 420 dollars to Anera to corroborate each day of my hunger strike; still, if you have anything to spare, please consider donating more to their cause. Anera is one of very few humanitarian aid organizations that have managed to contend with Israeli’s constant aggression, their strikes on aid trucks and their purposefully shutting down the borders through which aid passes, to bring food and medical supplies to a still rising number of displaced malnourished, wounded Gazans. Anything is something, even if you may think a few dollars won’t make a difference.

I’ll also be cold quitting social media for the time I’m on hunger strike. Any posts from May 1 through May 8 will be queued. Thank you for donating to my hunger strike 🤍 it means a lot
