✍️ What’s your ideal writing setup?

I don’t have much of a set up, mainly because nowadays I write from my phone on Google Docs, so I can write whenever i want, wherever i want.

When I used to write from my laptop, i would either listen to music or put on some YouTube videos (i watch interviews, i love watching interviews) and it had to be at night, because I can’t concentrate during the day when I’m on the computer.

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

My Stony fic, i hold that one very close to my heart because it help me deal with all the negative emotions that CA:CW left in me (and a few other MCU movies)

Right now though, I’m obsessed with my second Hangster fic, How Long Does It Take?, it’s the one I’ve re-read the most.

Hello! A character study fic examines some part of a character's personality or their thoughts and feelings about a situation. It can be introspective from a character's POV, or it could be an outsider POV, with the character observing someone else. It can also analyze some aspect of a relationship. It is less focused on plot or dialogue.

i don't know if you meant vampire here or not but my immediate thought when i read 'unhinged beast' was tommy with fangs open nasty blood dripping everywhere (sighs lovingly)

I was thinking more along the line as just in general cursed, in a fairytale-esque way? There’s something just slightly off about him, maybe he has some rules like touching things in a certain way or not being able to enter certain rooms if x and y apply etc. And I really like the concept of an object that in some way is part of the creature’s body influencing its physical form? Like how there are the swan maidens (and many similar tales) who are swans by day but can take on their human form at night, when they take off their feathery dresses - and said dresses can be hidden, thus trapping them in their human form?

So Tommy has to wear the glove because it helps him keep his human appearance, since without it, the blood-dripping right hand he used to shake on the contract becomes visible and his inhumanness is proven? If that makes sense? (Alfie’s goal being to get that glove and hide it so he can - idk, kill Tommy? I’m not sure what his goal would be)

but yes yes obviously he has fangs!! I love that for him. And just - a true nightmare with his dripping hand and ice-clear eyes. He probably has razor-sharp claws he uses to slice people open? Let him have sharp teeth. Let him unhinge his jaw. Let him break someone’s ribcage with his bare hands. Just. Let him go apeshit.

Can’t Stand the Heat

(Set in my Specificity AU, because I can.)

"Ow! Bloody-," Eames backed away from the kettle, hand held against his chest and a teapot shattered on the floor. "I didn't expect it to be that hot," he said, making puppy eyes at Arthur.

Arthur wrapped ice in a towel, handed it over, and pointed to Eames' table. "Sit." He started that pot over while Tadashi cleaned up the mess, breathing through the rush and getting everyone's orders done to his ownd exacting standards.

Eames was still cradling the damp towel when Arthur came over, scooting his chair close enough their knees interlaced. Arthur's touch was gentle but firm as he examined the burn. "How bad is it?"

"Mostly hurt my pride," admitted Eames, letting Arthur kiss the one blister, wincing when he prodded the nearby red blotches. "It's not so bad that it'll keep me from knitting, anyway."

"Small favors," said Arthur fondly, kissing Eames' mouth instead. "Let me get the first aid kit, anyway, so you don't aggravate it."

He turned to find Tadashi holding a tray with a pot of tea, two cups, and the first aid kit on it. Tadashi handed it over without a word, shooting Eames a wink as he went back to the counter and the thankfully small line that had formed while they were both occupied.

"We owe Saito so much good tea for bringing him to us," said Eames, staying unusually obedient while Arthur got the tray settled in place and found the burn cream.

Arthur was careful as he smoothed it in place and wrapped Eames' hand up with gauze, being extra careful with the blister in the tender part of his palm. Another kiss to the wrapping, and he turned to put things away and pour the tea. "Everything but the blister should be better tomorrow, thankfully," said Arthur, handing him a cup of tea with exaggerated care.

Eames took a sip and melted as he always did, a soft sigh escaping those lush lips that begged for a kiss. "This is incredibly soothing," he said. "Camomile mint?"

Arthur sipped it, making a pleased sound of his own, and then kissed Eames with both their mouths warm and sweetly scented. "Among other things. For a nerve-wracking day."

Eames got an adorable hangdog look. "I'm so sorry, petal, you know I would never."

Arthur sharpened his gaze and caught Eames' eyes. "You will never, ever step behind my counter again, or I will make sure they never find the body, you mean." His voice was low, even, and perfectly reasonable.

Eames' eyes went wide and his breath caught, tongue flicking out over his lips nervously. Then his pupils widened and a flush crawled over his cheeks. "I, um. All right, yes, sorry. Never again, darling."

Arthur nodded, sitting back with a smirk and sipping his tea. "Perhaps I'll give you a proper punishment later for the breakage."

Eames nodded, swallowing. "I, ah. Clearly deserve it," he said, and Arthur's smile grew wider. This was going to be fun.

untitled formerly haiji day 2023 fic (kakeru/haiji)

this will now just be posted ... someday after i finish writing it, possibly this year if fates align. intended to be a shorter, slightly different version of the longer heist!au project to let me get a sense of character and worldbuilding. i've felt recently like i'd lost my grasp on writing that narrates a sequence of events but i was really pleased with how much work these specific verbs are doing.

Kakeru feeds a bill into the machine, and Haiji watches a can of black coffee tilt off the rack and fall with a thunk.

the way you see me is not really (arthur/cobb)

i've only been writing this fic since uhhh 2020. it's about arthur and cobb on the run right after mal's death.

 The days on the road and in motels alternate sun-bright and cloudy, a perfect checkerboard of a calendar month.

narrative!fic (kakeru/haiji)

i do have a working title as of about a week ago but i'm not willing to jinx it so it'll stay narrative!fic here. this is about haiji, post-ekiden. yes this is gently cheating bc its three lines but the first line isnt complete alone and i really didn't want to read thru the other 20k of drafted material

Haiji expects feeling to come back in parts, after that, and the romantic in him wants to believe that what will come first are the places Kakeru is touching him: the curve of his shoulders, the place where Kakeru's hand is a tight band around his upper arm. But it doesn't happen like that. By the time Kakeru hauls him up, he still can't quite feel his legs.

Reposting this again, because it’s still relevant currently in my family, especially now that I’m talking to a guy and my family is saying “when I get married this year” and my dad is definitely more hellbent on the idea of grandkids.

I think it’s the need for the parents of our generation to fix their mistakes in raising our generation, but the damage has already been done, and there’s so many reasons for us to say no. I’ve recently come to a lot of realizations about how my family isn’t the best, and my home situation is a lot more toxic than I originally thought, especially after moving to college and being in the beginning of my sophomore year. The only thing I’ll share with you is that I had the idea that someone was going to “yell at me” for not doing something or not fully doing a job or piece of work. I had several people tell me that my professors wouldn’t do anything like that and would be understanding. My professors were very gracious and understanding, especially when someone close to me died on a Monday night and I didn’t know what to do or whether I was going to be in class Tuesday morning. I realized that those people treated me with equal respect and care, and never gave up on me, they always offered help or a hug. A lot of those people aren’t on campus here anymore, through budget cuts and transfers, but their friendships and memories stay with me. I’m about to call the clinic they have through my school, since there’s 10 free therapy sessions, to help me deal with stress and some of my family issues.

Remember, you’re not alone in this.

What part of I don't want kids do you not understand?

Do you see our world today?

I don't want children to grow up in fear of the government or of the people.

I don't want children to be terrified of something they can't see, but can hear and know is there.

I don't want children to be afraid of going outside of the house.

I don't want children to be afraid of schools.

I don't want children because of the pressure it puts on me and the other people in this world.

To be completely honest, I don't want a little version of me.

I don't want children to go through what I went through.

I don't want to be my mom.

I don't want to be so preoccupied with my life that I forget about the littler ones.

I don't physically want kids.

I know there are kids out there who have parents, but their parents are always gone. I want to be a mentor and older sister to these kids. The job field I'm going into is going to be involved with a lot of kids. I would rather help thousands of kids than create more for this world to destroy.

There are genuine, good kids in our world that need someone.

Why should I ignore them for the sake of obligations?

I don't HAVE to carry on the bloodline if I don't want to.

I don't HAVE to save old clothes of mine if I don't WANT to. Especially if I don't PLAN on ever having kids.

Why is having kids so important to the parents of gen z? Because THEY want to have little people again? Because THEY want to have the ability to tell people that they are grandparents?

Why is it my job as the daughter of my house to carry on the bloodline? I'm a legal adult now and have been single my whole life. For some reason, no one understands that I'm doing great by myself. I have friends that are guys, but I don't want to date them, let alone marry them.

My brother is planning on proposing to his girlfriend next month. Great! They're settling down, and I know they'll eventually have kids.

When I was garage saling with my dad, he bought some kids books and a kids toy. The books went to my mom, who's a teacher, but he bought the toy for his future grandkids. He hinted slightly at me, in which my response was to tell him that I didn't want kids, at least not physically.

The thing is, at the end of my rant, my dad is okay with me not having kids at all. My mom, however, INSISTS that I WILL have kids of my own, and tries to relate her child-having experience to me. About how she didn't want kids "through her crotch" and tried to convince me that a c-section would make everything better. But like, I don't want to carry around a mini human for 9 months. NOOOOOO THANK YOU.

Anyone else feel the same? Or have had the same problem? Like, overly intense conservative parents but you're not conservative at all? Just wondering...

Patrick stared at him. “No,” he said. “Absolutely nothing should go like that.”

“It’s a sample,” Pete said. “It’s got a sci-fi feel to it.”

“Not when you sing it,” said Patrick drily.

“Haha,” said Pete, tumbling onto the couch with Patrick as close as he possibly could. “You sing it then.”

“DOOOWEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?”

“You can’t say it, you have to sing it.”

“DOOOWEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”

“See, it sounds great, but everything sounds great when you sing it.”
