[EN] Nothing wears me down like the grind of everyday life. The photo might hint at a touch of optimism—there was a glimpse of sun, at least for a moment. Yesterday, for the first time in I don’t know how long, I skipped posting here. I woke up today feeling tired, trudged out to get my steps in and tire myself out even more, and then indulged in a brief moment of relaxation in a hot bath. Now I’m ready to sleep, but first, I have to go through the photos from the entire week. Then there’s my daily dose of social-promotion efforts. And, of course, this post. What else? There’s always something.

Tomorrow, it starts again—pushing toward a better future. Or just any future.

I’ve started baking bread at home. It’s surprisingly easy and deeply satisfying. Two loaves down so far, and both vanished within 10 minutes of coming out of the oven. A queue of eager family members forms, and they devour the warm bread instantly. Being the obsessive type, I might one day grind my own flour. Or plant rye and wheat in the garden to become a total purist. But that probably won’t be sustainable. Then again, who cares?

We live in times where you walk into a store, and 80% of the products are edible food-like substances. I’ve eaten enough of that junk. This is one of the changes I’m making. We’ll see where it takes me. 🍞🌾✨

Jutro od nowa, po lepszą przyszłość. Po jakąkolwiek przyszłość.

Chleb zacząłem piec w domu. To bardzo w sumie łatwe i satysfakcjonujące. Dwa bochenki na razie za mną. Oba zniknęły w 10 minut od upieczenia. Zaraz ustawia się kolejka chętnych i pochłaniają jeszcze ciepły wypiek w mgnieniu oka. Jako człowiek który miewa pierdolca do kwadratu pewnie jeszcze któregoś dnia zrobię własną mąkę na ten chleb. Albo zasieję, żyto i pszenicę w ogródku żeby być takim purystą totalnym. Tylko, że to pewnie nie będzie sustainable. No ale co tam?

Żyjemy w czasach kiedy wchodzi się do sklepu a tam z 80 procent produktów to takie jadalne wyroby jedzenio-podobne. Zjadłem tego już wystarczająco dużo. To jedna ze zmian które wdrażam. Zobaczymy dokąd mnie to zaprowadzi. 🍞🌾✨

Treasures of Ruin Headcanons

It is not uncommon to find stone figures of Ting-Lu marking settlements in northern Paldea. In ancient times, the custom was to put coins in the domed vessel atop its head, typically whenever one arrived or departed the village. The reasoning is not well understood. Some scholars believe they were merely respectful offerings. Others speculate that the coins were intended to weigh Ting-Lu's head down, to prevent it from escaping its shrine and ravaging the earth.

Paldea is home to a proverb, often translated as 'melt the sand and leave nowhere to stand'. It cautions against the ruinous effects of jealousy or envy, and likely traces back to Chi-Yu's origins. Both in Paldea and its surrounding regions, envy is associated with fire and heat.

It is commonly believed that flowers and fruit trees do not grow in the woods surrounding Grasswither Shrine, but this is not true. As any local will tell you, the fruit grows quickly, but rots quicker still. Wild pokémon do not eat it.

Paldean fables warn children against walking alone in heavy snow. If they see a snowman, they must ignore it - especially if it seems to be waving at them. Chien-Pao is the most playful of the Treasures of Ruin; while your eyes fix on the snow figure, you may miss the sheet of ice descending from above.

The exact nature of the Treasures of Ruin is poorly understood in modern Paldea. While their existence is accepted, there is dispute over the extent of their abilities and the level of destruction attributed to them. Some academics argue that they were only symbols of the bloodshed and environmental discord under the ancient monarch's rule, later elevated to legends via oral storytelling. However, more recent research supports the Treasures' historic reputation. A newly-published geological analysis of Grasswither Shrine detected elevated levels of heavy metals in the soil, with no clear source but the shrine itself.

Ornamental metal vessels, often known as 'worry bowls', are found in many houses across Paldea. They are a common gift for children, who are told to write their fears down on scraps of paper and put them in the vessel to be rid of them. Some believe that these bowls are styled after the vessel on Ting-Lu's head. The protective nature of the bowls is at odds with Ting-Lu's generally negative reputation, which may suggest that the Treasures were not always a symbol of evil in Paldean culture.

In old Paldean writings, frostbite is often referred to as 'sword touch' or the 'bite of the cat', thought to be physical evidence of Chien-Pao's ruin on the body. Even in modern Paldea, children are encouraged to wrap up warmly against the cold, lest 'the cat nip their nose'.

I wonder something. Like I doubt Jax does it for Gangle's benefit, but it seems like a good thing that Jax gets her mask broken all the time.

In the episode she says that her comedy mask is usually broken by this point, it feels like the plastic mask of happiness is weighting on her. She is too tired to keep up with fake positivity.

When Gangle started freaking out on Jax, he looked like this is something he already faced. 'Positive' Gangle being forced to stay positive for too long.

Sherlock Holmes (pronounced Holl-mess, as he is constantly reminding people) just had the misfortune of having parents who really liked the books, and his attitude towards his fictional counterpart is pretty much the same as that of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sherlock runs a Youtube Theory channel called Mysteries Unwrapped with Sherlock Holmes. He has received no less than seven cease and desist letters from the Conan Doyle estate, all of which he has so faded managed to rebuff by pointing out that that's literally his name.

(No he won't change his name. He's Sherlock Holmes the real live human person. Let Sherlock Holmes the non existent fictional character change his name.)

John is Sherlock's flatmate. Sherlock almost refused to live with him once he realised that it would mean staying with a medical student named John, and only gave in once John pointed out that: a) he's a biomedical student, which is completely different from an md, and b) his surname isn't Watson.

It's now been three years, which is long enough for them to have developed a genuine friendship, and for John to have a) started working towards his PhD in biotechnology, and b) for him to start dating somebody with the surname Watson.

Sherlock can feel the narrative closing in.

His Youtube channel is meant to be focused on lost media, fan theories and stuff like that, but he keeps accidentally stumbling upon and then solving genuine crimes.

His brother Mycroft may or may not have chosen that name after he transitions specifically to annoy him.

He doesn't even live in London, but somehow the only flat they could afford was on a street named fucking Baker Street.

I love how whenever ATLA recognizes Sokka is smart enough to solve a problem but it’d be too fast they just stick him in some kind of situation. Like he COULD’VE stopped jet from drowning a town so they tied him up and dumped him in a forest.
