While as much as I'd have loved to have seen Nemona, Arven, and Penny in the DLC, I do think it's funny to imagine reasons why they couldn't have gone on the field trip anyway.

The funniest reason I can think of, particularly for Penny, is that there was a criminal case brought up against Team Star and she had to stand trial.

The player sends her a selfie from the trip, and she sends a mugshot of herself in return.

honestly though larry is so cool in terms of the more foreshadowing side of him

like at first he comes off like just the normal gym leader, whatever. you dont think too much about anything hes up to. then you get to the elite 4 reveal and suddenly... things make sense

he gives you the tm for facade. hes trying so hard to act like just some every day guy and not an elite 4 member by not loudly broadcasting it to the world.

he terastallizes his staraptor into the normal type, despite it already being normal in its normal/flying type. this is obviously to make it a pure normal type, a literal manifestation of his attempt at trying to be discreet about his elite 4 position as the flying type handler.

not only that, but his design reflects this as well with his tie. its harder to see in game, but in the key art its clearly sky blue with a little cloud pattern. the sky is usually associated with flying types, but because its a tie its super subtle and out of the way as a distinguisher. i suppose the button pattern on his suit sleeves could resemble feathers, and the black triangles on the lapels make the bottom pair seem like wings, but these are more loose conclusions for subtle details

like this shit is actually so good because you never think twice about these sorts of things until later in the game.. which is what good foreshadowing is all about. i appreciate this aspect of his character immensely

Still playing through the Indigo Disk, but I think Lacey is awesome and it’s so cool she’s related to one of the Unova gym leaders! I think it’s Clay because of her hair clip (and her Excadrill lol) so I wanted to draw Clay taking little Lacey to see a Cottonee migration, since in Unova fairy types are few and far between lol

definitely about 2 yrs late but I really think that there would have been so much more potential in pokemon s/v's victory road arc had they not decided to go with this "everyone can be a champion (generic) if they beat geeta (also it means nothing bc geeta stays la primera no matter how many times she's beaten)":

- you go through the game thinking you'll face geeta in battle

- you get through the e4 only to find that nemona has unseated geeta as la primera (doesn't really matter if you can unseat her in turn imo)

- nemona has completed her arc by becoming the strongest trainer in the region, only reasonable place left for her to go is area zero with you and the others

- post-game nemona gets bored and starts a battle frontier/facility and becomes the final frontier brain

- geeta moved to a secret final boss in the post game where she actually uses her team properly with competitive strategy so all the in-game hype about her means something

- geeta maybe going through her villain arc as was foreshadowed but never realized in the dlc
