Queergender(ed) anon here and I think if someone wanted to it could be used interchangeably with genderqueer because it could be looked at as just switching the words around because it feels better that way, I use it like that sometimes. Other times it’s just queer. gender. Like your looking at the way you experience gender as a whole and literally calling it for what it is- queer or at least queer in nature (hence the qinG flag). Your basically gendering your gender as queer. Hope this helps!

queergender

queergender is a gender that can be described as queer. queergender is the term "queer" as a gender equivalent to man, woman, neutrois, androgyne or other genders. queergender is not an orientationgender for queer. queergender is different from genderqueer as genderqueer describes any queer experience of gender, including gender expression, modality etc., whereas queergender describes queerness as a specific non-binary gender label. queergender by definition falls under genderqueer, but not all genderqueer people are queergender.

i coined this term because that's what i thought genderqueer meant but i learned that genderqueer is much broader than just queerness as a gender and also includes gnc cis and binary trans people and it didn't feel specific enough for me. i coined it because i wanted a term that specifically means "queer" is my gender rather than "i experience gender in a queer way. i chose the term queergender because "queer" on its own is still often used in an orientation-centric way with queer experiences of gender being erased and i wanted to be explicit that this is for gender specifically. i chose the term based on the terms "queersexual" and "queerromantic" that i've seen floating around sometimes. of course, if you fit the definition of queergender but prefer to simply use queer rather than queergender, you're still welcome to use this flag.

things queergender people may relate to:

calling yourself "a queer" in the same way that others call themselves "a woman" or "an enby"

"my gender is queer"

using the term genderqueer as a specific gender rather than an umbrella term

feeling like the very base or essence of your gender is queer

feeling like "queer" relates more to your gender identity itself rather than your gender modality, expression or presentation

flag meaning:

i chose lavender and pink as they're colours often associated with queerness. the light purple stripe in the middle merely adds to the symbolism of queergenderness not being a single experience but rather a diverse spectrum.

I think we need to seriously start thinking about what's going to happen next June. Unless a miracle happens, we're not going to be casually hated during pride like we will be for the rest of the year (queer marriages are looking to be dissolved, brands are already removing queer content creators from their pool of influencers, "visible queerness" gains more harassment than we have in YEARS). Next June we will be front and centre as people to target. And I think planning of some sort, protests, parades, or even just a co-ordinated boycot of some sort, will do wonders to our response to it. We will be safer if we have something, anything, in place. We will have numbers to blend into.

We better fight next Pride month, or we'll get one whether we like it or not.

When I identified as a trans man, I was a trans man. When I identified as a vampire cat in the third grade, I was a vampire cat. When I identified as genderfluid, I was genderfluid. And as I now identify as queer, I’m a damn queer even if I’m not next year.

“what if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?” good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesn’t make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know it’s okay if what you think about yourself changes.
