Nasuada: Did you have Elva quiet your memories too?

Arya: No.

Nasuada: Huh.

Arya: ?

Nasuada: I…assumed you had. After you and Glen returned from guarding Eragon and Saphira during their initial training in Ellesméra you seemed no different from how you were before it all. Very well adjusted.

Arya: *stares*

Nasuada: ……

Arya:……

Arya: *bursts out laughing and has to sit down on the floor for a full two minutes because it WILL NOT stop*

Nasuada: Are you well???

Arya: *wheeeeEEZE* oh you sweet summer child, Nasuada I was a fucking WRECK for most of the rest of the war!

Arya: Wrong doesn’t even scratch the surface of how opposite to ‘well adjusted’ I was!

Arya: *dissolves into another fit of disbelieving giggles because holy FUCK that is the first time ANYONE applied THAT term to her*

okay. I’m still stuck on these roran chapters so let’s make predictions about the fate of the characters.

Roran gets his happy ending. I don’t see him, his unborn kid, or Katrina dying. Maybe Carn dies though, which makes me sad because I like him.

Arya becomes a rider. Maybe she becomes queen? Her mom is definitely dying tho.

Nasuada becomes queen of Alagaësia, and hopefully rides off into the sunset with Murtagh

I think Murtagh and Thorn are gonna travel alone to atone for their past, kinda like Sasuke

Eragon and by extension Saphira leave Alagaësia, for some reason

Completely forgot that Nasuada just like went John Wick on three guards with a fucking SPOON to try to escape God she's so cool. She's so cool!!! UGH SHE'S SO COOL!!! I want to see her do more badassery.

Rushed is a good way of putting their relationship. So far she’s the only female character Murtagh has shown romantic interest in, but I still get the feeling that despite their interactions in Farthen Dûr and in Uru’baen, they don’t really know each other. Their relationship feels shallow to me despite the emotions and respect they feel towards each other.

I know many of you will most probably kill me if I say this, but I need to take it out: I honestly feel like Chris didn’t develop Murtagh and Nasuada the way he should have. I mean, their supposed relationship. It would be great if they were together in a near future, I’m not hating on the ship, but it felt as if out of absolutely nothing Christopher decided to put them together… Murtagh decides to convince Galbatorix to bring her to Uru'baen to save her from getting killed and they’ve only spoken once. It’s not like he was already in love with her. If it had been Eragon instead of Murtagh, he may have fallen in love more easily, but we’re talking about Murtagh. This young man has enormous trust issues and I highly doubt that just because he thinks Nasuada is fantastically fabulous he would fall for her. It would take him way more time to do that merely because of his upbringing and so forth. And then, when he takes her and Galbatorix forces him to torture her… Yes, they do get to talk and sort of befriend each other, but I don’t see how –also we have to understand they know each other very little from before their current situation– someone like Murtagh would go to the extreme of literally risking his life for someone he knows very little. I am the first one that wants Murtagh to be happy and I think Nasuada is perfect for him, but considering Murtagh's– and even Nasuada's– way of thinking… It feels like, in order for them to actually be in love with each other, they’d need to know each other way better… I don’t know….

Murtagh is the real "Drama Queen" of the Inheritance cycle

He showed up so dramatically to save Eragon from Ra'Zacs and then from Durza (he even put on a fake beard)

He waited all day just to attack Eragon on the Burning Plains and to reveal that he was the new Rider.

He decided to attack Varden on the day of Roran's wedding and didn't have a helmet, just to show everyone how beautiful his hair was

In the Inheritance, Murtagh was the most dramatic, especially in Dras Leona and with Nasuada (he was wearing a silver mask, which was unnecessary because Nasuada had already known that it was him)

Rereading the last chapter again because I'm going to build off of it for a fic, and oh my god. The love, the understanding, the fucking tension between Murtagh and Nasuada. All these things they won't say because that leads to annother conversation neither is ready for. She wants him to just be arround her, no real reason other than its him and he will stay for her . And just all these little ways they tell each other they love the other without saying those words because again that's annother conversation.

And what about when they have that conversation? Nasuada needs to marry and have an heir for the crowns stability. And in and ideal world she would marry Murtagh because he doesn't aspire to power, and more importantly they love each other. But its not an ideal world. He's a traitor nobody trusts except for her.

And then, there is also his immortality. Nasuada will grow old. She will die. Any children they have will do the same. And their grandchildren. And Murtagh will be an ageless immortal. He will have to watch that happen. And she will have to live with him stating the same (Also I've suddenly been reminded of a ASOIAF fic that explored this theme. I will have to reread it, that was so damn good)

Also they touch each other five times in the chapter, and she initiates all but one of them. Which like yes. I am a shipper. But Murtagh is not a touchy feely guy. And he lets it happen and notes the absence of her touch as much as its presence. And Nasuada probably doesn't get much of the casual human touch, that physical intimacy as Queen. And certainly not from somone who is her equal.

Anyway hi yes, I have brainrot for these two again.
