Please talk about Vernon he’s such an underrated character. So so nuanced and nobody explores his character in depth. He’s just my babygirl whose never done anything wrong 🥺

How I view him:

Incredible. Show-stopping. Award-winning. The songbird of a generation. Very gruff and scary on the surface but that hides his soft, sweetheart personality. A naturally jealous and overprotective guy, I think. He would freak out when he found out about jily because he wanted to protect Lily from an assclown like James. Very driven and hardworking. Worked his was up from a lower class neighbourhood to a good job at his firm. Also a romantic? I feel like he'd be such a hopeless romantic and always yap to Lily about it in their childhood lmao. Really funny, too. Just a silly guy who'd always make people laugh. Incredibly charming, so he was a triple threat of humour, charm, and good looks.

My fave hcs:

Met the Evanses in his childhood, was childhood sweethearts with Petunia and besties with Lily

If Dudley was a girl, he wanted to name him after Lily (similarly, Lily wanted to have 2 boys to name one after Vernon)

VERY skilled handyman and tradesman. Started his relationship with Petunia by flirting with her when he came over to fix things for her

Would plan the most elaborate and adorable dates for Petunia. It was his fave activity.

Wanted to travel the world with Petunia after they got married, but she got pregnant with Dudley (Vernon and his super sperm smh) and so they never did

Cishet but a MAJOR ally! When Lily came out as bi to him, he baked her a cake 🫶🫶

Has a beautiful singing voice but he never uses it unless egged on by Petunia or Lily (originally dreamed of being an opera singer as a kid)

Younger than Petunia but older than Lily, he was the one that kept the peace between them

Vertunia — yes. Soulmates. Meant to be. They fit each other so well. Childhood sweethearts that fell apart and reunited in adulthood? Yes. Give me 15 of em.

Verlily — not a romantic shipper but I LOVE QPR verlily. Them being so close since childhood and the angst that produces PLEASE

Verames — honestly? Not a fan. I think Vernon would've been extremely protective of Lily and would always keep his eyes on James to make sure he isn't fucking up, though, and they could probably bond and make friends

Verjily — QPR verlily with jily is wonderful. Vernon lives with them and they couldn't be happier

Verius — lowk unpopular but... I love it? Someone as carefree and rebellious as Sirius with someone as stuffy and anxious as Vernon? Could they be the next wolfstar?

i myself am constantly confused, anon ;-;

i like wolfstar when i personally write it, and i generally don’t like it when other people do(even if the characterization is closer to canon.)

i prefer to view sirius and remus’s relationship as a friendship or qpr. most of the fans are deeply annoying, and they make every post about sirius about remus. even some fans of the ship who generally have good opinions are of the tendency to make everything wolfstar because they assume the poster ships wolfstar because they’re in the marauders fandom.

it’s annoying. i used to really ship wolfstar but that happened during my first time in the fandom and continued into my break from fandom, but i didn’t really interact with the marauders part of the fandom during my first time anyway so my experience with wolfstar was pretty much just them being harry’s godparents.

the fanon surrounding the first war era version of the ship pretty much ruined it for me.

Usually I write romance? I'll read other things, but romance is what I enjoy writing. BUT!

I have one fic that is mostly platonic prongsfoot with a hint of pre-wolfstar, if you're interested! It's James and Sirius discovering Nerf guns :D

One of my longfics, Long Story Short, had a qpr between Sirius and Marlene that I'm super proud of. It also has Dorlene, Wolfstar, and Jegulus, but (not to sound braggy) I really love how Sirius and Marlene interact in it.

I'm also always willing to look at requests people send! I'm a bit behind right now but if you send one, I'd love to try it! I love a challenge!

this is a band au for the marauders era BUT the original marauders are not the band. let me explain. also i want to preface by apologising because i just jump from character to character w the povs so

Moths to a Spotlight: Sirius, Peter, Marlene, Dorcas (no band name yet so shoot your shot if you want to)

the marauders era characters have a LOT of different roles here. Regulus and Pandora are ballet dancers, Mary and Peter grew up together & met Remus in highschool in America and did music but now Mary and Remus are like what billie is to finneas? (also i made Remus southern) Alice is a ball of whimsy and the next artist of our time painting only in vibrant and swelling colours BUT has one singular monochrome painting and i'll explain later. Evan manages Mary and Remus and MINERVA, queen that she is, is basically the band's mother/manager. fluffy black brothers!! oh, and andromeda is dead. whaaaat who said that

i know what you're thinking "where the fuck is james?? lily?? barty??" heh heh WELL you're not gonna like this. lily is the villain here and not in a good way. it was a VERY toxic marylily and lily is the Casual girl (chappell roan) ANYWAAAY you're gonna see a LOT of that BUT she does have her redemption arc. i think. maybe.

barty broke up with sirius right before they went on tour, a couple months before the beginning of the fic. they grew up together, its very bittersweet, might give you heartburn. AGAIN redemption arc.

and uh the jegulus here will just slap you in the face

OR. Mary and Sirius break up with Lily and Barty respectively and have to figure out how to clean up the mess from here only to be slapped in the face with new love interests. Mary joins Sirius' band as an opener for the european leg of their world tour and along the way finds that to love someone isnt pouring all of yourself down their drain hoping they'll eventually be satisfied but to be respected, remembered and cared for. While Sirius slowly falls head over heels for an oblivious Remus who joined Mary on the tour. At every stop it becomes more and more obvious until finally Sirius, a rockstar, ends up performing a sweet love song completely different from his music style as a love confession with help of Peter.

basically the journey of their lives together. they find love, they find FRIENDSHIP, they find beauty in the little things, they find laughter and peace and passion. this entire fic for me was to discover all the little things, the day to day things that makes life what it is. the shitty things people do and how they can come back from that. it's filled with jokes and family and bittersweet memories, pain and heartache and stretched silences. its all those moments you weave into stories to tell when you're old on a porch swing or young in a rocking chair. its their life.
