Hello I'm here to explain my backstory for q!Phil

I have the headcanon that he was a child soldier before he resided to hardcore worlds. He's an expert at fighting, and I think this is also a really neat way to incorporate Techno into it, cause just like imagine:

Phil and Techno met as children on the battlefield, maybe Techno was saving Phil. Tech taught him how to fight, and they became best friends. Once the war ended, they left and started a life together as friends. Then, maybe something happens to Techno, idk, but Phil leaves what he knew to go to Hardcore. This is where he really "spreads his wings" (aahahaha-)

He gets a letter to go to the QSMP, he does, we know the rest, but the reason he wants to protect the eggs so badly is because he wanted someone to protect him when he was a kid. And maybe he taught Chayanne how to fight because it's what he knew as a kid.

can we talk about Phil and Jaiden today and their interactions after Jaiden finally shows her wings because I’m going crazy.

Jaiden showing off her wings for the first time to Phil, and Phil both happy for her and also insanely jealous, because why did she get to keep her wings, while his got clipped so badly he needs his backpack to counterbalance the weight he lost - or at least the weight he looses having to keep them close to his back.

and the whole time they’re talking in a group, hanging around spawn, Jaiden is perched somewhere above the group. up in a tree, moving from branch to branch, or against the wall, or right on the top of that lamppost. Phil, on the other hand, stays sat on the bench the entire time. grounded.

and every time Jaiden hops from perch to perch, he looks specifically at her. zooms in whiles she’s sat on the lamppost even as he continues conversation. its such a small detail but really helps punch in just how much Philza can’t let it go, can’t stop wishing that he could do the same.

I might've touched on this earlier but I kinda wanna make a post about it now since something has kinda become clear to me after Chay and Lullah's departures; I feel like from the moment they woke back up, the kids and Phil have kinda been gently preparing us all for their story to end. Phil apologized to the kids with the promise to be more open, Lullah was officially adopted, they spent some of their last days on the server building a new floor to their house with a wall of memories, and they even went on one final adventure together. Removed from the context of Chay and Lullah's goodbye, these all seem like pretty average death family things, but with the ending in mind, I feel like these last few VODS absolutely screamed finality. And like, I dunno. In a way that makes me feel more at ease with how things turned out. We were never gonna be prepared for the story to end, I don't think... But it was always going to end, no matter what we did, and In a way I kinda take comfort in that. There are a million ways that this story could have concluded, and I'm glad that at least in regards to Phil, Chayanne, and Lullah, they were able to draw the curtains close by their own hands as opposed to letting it fade away into nothing. And the party isn't quite over yet! We're still going to get Q!Phil's backstory in some time from now, and with this recent development in mind I'm very curious to know how it's going to play out!! Their conversation implied that they would be all saying goodbye to eachother, but I wonder if that was more of a goodbye for us than it was for the three of them, since Phil said that he'd still tell them his stories when they woke up. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a cinematic in his back pocket of him with the kids that will be paired with the animatic. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

He talked about his backstory animatics/animations he was talking about making, and that it's the backstory for all his characters (with the exception of Origins).

He's going to have 3, called 'the beginning', 'the middle', and 'the end' respectively. 'The beginning' is in the works and it looks really good, according to him.

The criticism of the QSMP storyline rn are kinda wild to me because other than just people being negative nancies for the sake of it , people really just say that "players don't have input in the lore anymore"

Like did y'all forget that q!Max's nuke a plotline created BY A PLAYER ended up being one of the major factors in Purgatory's ending ?

Other than that those QSMP streams aren't taking anything away from the plot, they're giving us information and storylines we couldn't've gotten otherwise.

With the player's POVs we wouldn't have gotten the Egg's rescue (idk why people keep pushing the idea the islanders should'vr rescued them, meta wise it would not have worked), Elena's POV (along with her backstory) and overall a Lot of the things that have been happening because only the Federation could've had access to this information.

If we had gotten rid of the streams literally all that would do is make the story more confusing than it needs to be.

The admins still are doing lore with the players like Fred, q!Forever's infection, q!Phil, THE ENTIRETY OF THE REBEL LORE (q!Etoiles infiltrating to rescue a Code) and MORE. They are not gonna abandon lore with the players because of a few streams that allow them to do lore they couldn't have done otherwise.

It's even worse when it's been confirmed that this is supposed to be the start of a new chapter of course things aren't going Crazy already.

Q! Brazilians Background, Lore and Summary, as I could gather from Day One

Backstory:

Felps is at fault for crashing the boat, he didn't had a license for controlling the ship since he thought it was just like riding a bike

Pac, Mike and Cellbit already have a story together, Pac and Mike have been previously betrayed and saw friends die due to Cellbit's fault

Pac and Mike are a Duo, Do Not Separate

Cellbit and Felps have been friends for ages

Pac and Mike have a backstory when dealing with Herobrine, coming from an old rp series called "Herobrine: The Legend", where they started getting haunted by Herobrine at age 14, managed to banish it around their 17s, and then it came back to haunt them when they were 19, and its still around

Forever had a lover, Brunim, that looks eerily similar to Phil and it's the reason Forever is obsessed with Phil and took such a hit when Phil kept pushing him away

Q!Characters server lore and summary:

Forever has brought weed with him in the boat, and made a deal with Quackity to create a prison, lock up everyone, and get rich with a drug empire

Later, all Brazilians agreed to make a mafia without anyone else knowing

When Richarlyson was adopted, first thing they all did was teach him how to steal quick and then how to kill. That diamond sword of his is crazy

Forever didn't care much for Richarlyson at first, leaving him with the other 4

He went after Philza, finding him with Tallulah, Chayenne, Dapper and BBH. He and Phil fought when Phil offered to help him build a home, when Forever wanted to live with him

Forever then said he didn't want Philza as his sugar daddy anymore, and left their place crying

He then decided he'd build a prison and lock up Phil to force Phil to love him

Forever got tricked by Quackity at first into believing Tallulah was Q's child and that Phil had kidnapped her and vowed to help

Later, when Cellbit went find Forever, Quackity tried to convince him of the same. Cellbit talked to BBH and made a deal to get some itens or else he'd help Quackity get Tallulah, BBH payed him

Quackity and Cellbit fought, Quackity started berating all the eggs, and Cellbit stepped in when Quackity talked about Richas, saying Q only hated the eggs because he had none

Quackity jumped off the wall, and so Cellbit felt guilty and offered 1% of Richas' paternity to Q, who accepted

Meanwhile, Pac, Mike and Felps were almost dying to a LOT of mobs while trying to find a place to settle. Richas was honestly the MVP here bc he defended all 3 of them when they barely had armor and weapons

(Between these two things happening, Forever was trying to find Pac, Mike and Felps)

They regrouped and everyone grumpily accepted Q as one of Richarlyson's dad, they had settles over a couple of mounts and decided they'd build a big house complex on the hillside (A favela)

Suddenly, they saw a white man walking around and Richarlyson had disappeared. Out Of Character, what happened was that the mod Richas' admin was using crashed and he stopped looking like an egg, but Quackity managed to save it lore wise by saying it was Osito Bimbo/Cucurucho that had kidnapped Richas so everyone went with that as well

Richarlyson showed up fine couple mins later

While everyone went out to gather wood and food, Cellbit went with Richas to mine

As they were digging down, Richas fell into a cave, with Cellbit immediately jumping for him and managing to kill some mobs and get Richas out of there

He told Richas to not tell his other dads that they fell into the cave, but else they went down carefully

Cellbit met Felps building, and got him to go down with him and Richarlyson to the cave

This is when Richas died

Cellbit immediately held Felps to make up a lie to make up for their failure. They settled in saying a "Cloaked figure with white eyes, probably a Necromancer, invoked tens of Skeletons that killed them and Richas", hoping to take advantage of Pac and Mike's trauma with Herobrine to be believed

Cellbit's plan worked when Pac immediately asked if it was Herobrine who took Richas' life, but when Q overheard the talk he said it was probably Cucurucho again who killed the egg

After this, things became more chill with Richas. He stayed with Mike building their favela while Pac and Cellbit went down to mine

Here is when the things get a bit more freaky, Pac and Cellbit went all the way down to bedrock and found a weird, man-made cave system, lightened up with torches. It didn't seem like strip mining, since there were literally no holes in the walls that would indicate that an ore was mined out

They kept exploring and ended up lost and had to dig their way up

All the time they joked it was Cucurucho's tunnels and he was going to be upset with them

Meanwhile, Forever got back worried for Richas' death, and so he stuck around to help protect him

Felps, Mike and Forever made a farm, and also a bed for Richarlyson, plus Mike had made a canvas and painted Richas a nice painting of him :)

Someone trapped a chest they had next to the farm, someone they just saw a glimpse of, and when Felps opened the chest, it exploded and killed him

Time passed and soon BBH came by to see how they were, he then noticed Osito Bimbo watching them and Forever and Cellbit chased him down, since he started running. Cellbit got distracted by BBH calling him and Forever kept chasing

BBH warned that Richas was too vulnerable by sleeping in the living room since people could just kill him when they weren't looking

So, naturally, they build a secret room behind a wall and locked Richarlyson in there with stone since they had no means to build a fancy door

Cellbit then talked to BBH in private, since BBH had similar characteristics as the Necromancer Cellbit had made up (white eyes, cloak) and asked BBH to pretend to be the Necromancer to help him out

BBH agreed

They finally managed to build a security door, locking Richarlyson in there (it's NOT a captivity room) and then covering the door with a painting

They all logged out after that

Richarlyson got his life back since it was his first day

There's something really satisfying and enjoyable about how Philza implements lore from his characters from other servers into the QSMP.

The most backstory we get is q!Philza's bedtime stories to Chayanne and Tallulah. We just got confirmation that q!Philza came from his Hardcore world. He and Technoblade took over the Antarctic Empire. He and Wilbur talked about MCC. Then there are other stories about people he knows. Technoblade and the potato war. Kristin, the Goddess of Death, meeting the Ender Dragon.

These all very heavily connect q!Philza onto other servers: i.e. SMPE, s4 of Hardcore. (Hell, technically, the only other server where Goddess of Death Kristin is canon, as of now, is in Dream SMP, so that kiiiinda connects him to DSMP, too? There's nothing concrete that directly connects to that server, but anyway!).

But it's the fact that they are stories is what makes that lore so good, I think. Yes, they definitely aren't just stories. Yes, they are most definitely things that q!Phil has experienced. These are people he knows personally.

But he doesn't let all that consume a rest of his character's lore. He doesn't find Wilbur and imply a complicated familial relationship that includes filicide and letters filled with lies. He and Wilbur just met on the train and decided to father/son codify each other because they just had those vibes. He doesn't run into Quackity and have a grudge toward this guy who held a vendetta against his best friend. Phil just doesn't trust him because of how he treats Chayanne and that's it.

By doing this, Philza is implementing this lore in a way that the pieces aren't all coming together. And that is so, absolutely okay. It doesn't have to make 100% sense. He can imply SMP Earth in canon and move on with his day, even though people like Wilbur or FitMC were part of SMPE, too. Because that backstory isn't at the forefront of his character. They're just nice easter eggs, and they're good stories to tell! They're fun, because RP is just supposed to be fun. Plot holes don't have to be filled. because no one wants to bother and would rather enjoy what's being given.

And at the end of the day, q!Philza is simply q!Philza, even if he's also hardcore!Philza, as well as smpe!Philza, or even if he turns out to be c!Philza. Regardless of all these other worlds, q!Philza is still a new character in his own right.

i love that there’s an ongoing theme with a lot of the qsmp ships (especially the canon/close to canon ones) that is just this typically serious, nonchalant character - likely with a heavy/angsty backstory - and a character who’s oftentimes silly/chaotic, dramatic, or simply exudes wet cat energy, with or without the angsty backstory

i’m mainly looking at spiderbit, fitpac, and pissa/phissa- read my nonsensical ramble under the cut-

spiderbit!! you have q!Cellbit: a former child solider and an ex-convict from Alcatraz bc he was a cannibal and essentially a crazed serial killer. and his husband is q!Roier, who spent his earlier days on the island flirting with anyone and everyone, has Drama Queen���️ tendencies, and has an alter-ego who lives a double life as a stripper and psychologist. i don’t think Chafaland is canon so we don’t have much of a pre-island backstory for him, if one at all. granted, q!Cellbit we all know that sometimes has the wet cat or chaotic moments, so different dynamics can be interchanged between these two

fitpac!! q!Fit comes directly from the anarchy hellscape known as 2b2t, and as far as i’m aware, has spent most of if not all of his life there. led wars, killed a shit ton of people… yknow, all that jazz. literal war veteran. and yet!! who softens him and literally makes him fucking blush but none other than q!Pac. yes, q!Pac literally got his leg eaten and was also put into Alcatraz but up until he got kidnapped a couple weeks ago, the sheer chaos of this man?? regardless of the angst?? and now he’s slowly healing and getting back to normal too?? a silly lil inventor guy fr

pissa (why was this the chosen ship name again?)!! idk what the hell is going on with q!Phil’s backstory other than that he’s an/the Angel of Death, so there’s whatever angst and/or drama that comes with that. but this man just wants to chill and take care of his kids. and then… you have q!Missa… the MOST pathetic wet cat (/affectionate) on the entire island. and yknow what? i love him for that! the way this man has acted with q!Phil since he returned? i don’t even think i need to elaborate

but on a more serious note tho, i love that the relationships can (and do) run so much deeper too

i’ve talked about spiderbit plenty, but i’ll keep talking about them bc they just mean sm to me. the way they balance each other out and complement each other, the way they’re always there for each other. the way their relationship is so heavily built on trust. these two have so much love and commitment for each other it’s almost sickening. meus pais </3

fucking fitpac man they grew on me so fast :’D there’s a certain depth and potential with them that makes me crazy. they way they could (and do) help each other and always look out for each other. the way that they, regardless of inadvertently or intentionally, help each other heal from all the baggage they each carry is just… ough. i need them to become canon at this point idc. they’re both clearly into each other i don’t make the rules. THE POTENTIAL

i really hope we get more pissa bc it’s literally so crystal clear they care about each other, regardless of how much distance or how much time has passed. and that’s big. just like fitpac, there’s so much potential with them too, even if their marriage is platonic. i just wanna see their dynamic explored more please and thank you. it’s been so long </3

i really do think its been too long without the eggs. and it also sucks that they cant do anything until cc!forever comes back (which is not his fault, hes got a life!) but it stretches it out even more because he'll come back, and presumably they'll be another week of build-up bc i think q!forever will probably get, and deserves, his own return lore stream. we're about to reach 2 months of no eggs and every parent who started a character arc about this just cant finish it and they're getting no hints to make any significant narrative progression.

cause just taking q!bad as an example, he's got a bunch of mini-plots wrapped into this overall arc, with the soul vultures and ron, but the overall plan hinges on saving the eggs. his deterioration is due to the missing eggs. no matter how many smaller plots he introduces, his core motivation still cant even be progressed if there's nothing about the missing eggs. and yeah, im aware that we have the egg photos and the maze but its still not enough to give characters something to act on. but if you give them something to act on, then you need some type of resolution, and, again, there can't be any solid resolution if they already have planned the egg return date to be a month from now.

a lot of characters are getting new plots to work on, but thats mostly beneficial for characters like bagi/pol/tubbo who have no eggs. and characters like aypierre and antoine are exploring backstories which is great for them, but it still doesnt help characters like roier/bad/phil who have established new arcs so strongly tied to the missing eggs. it still means we're missing a lot of resolution, and im not sure how long ccs can improv this out.

My swag and totally normal q!BBH headcanons

I need to talk about my thoughts and headcanons about q!BBH, ESPECIALLY after the lore drops of him being like. a manifestation of c!bbh as well as the fact he “arrived” in 9600 BCE??? I need to say my thoughts- NOW. (also for the fact i wanna draw these out, some of them feel kinda specific and/or complicated)

warning, its a lot:

First and foremost, he’s the Grim Reaper. That’s just a canon fact, but! I still like to remember the name “The Saints of Games” and input that into his lore. 

Basically, he started off as angel, just like q!Philza, but (after some deals and not so good things) he turned into a demon. Design wise, he can go between looking like an angel, demon, or just a guy, but that’s mostly for funsies for me lol

As a demon, he quickly became high ranking, eventually working under the goddess of death herself as “the grim reaper.” this is where he meets phil, since now they’re technically co-workers.

He used to only care for guiding spirits and souls in the underworld, but soon discovered that something was wrong. Souls were going missing, sometimes going past him multiple times. This caused him to venture to the overworld (And cause whatever he did in 9600 BCE???)

The cause of his problems was Foolish! :D Seeing as foolish is a literal totem, I like the idea of him being some type of god/demi god that causes rebirth/keep people from dying/etc. This starts their rivalry that we still see now.

As a general, not every iteration of BBH, Phil, Forever, etc. is the same, they all come from different universes and timelines, but can come together and retain the memories as they move forward. This idea came from the fact qBBH wants “a skeppy” not even his skeppy, just A skeppy. Skeppy is not a deity, so, in every universe, he has to meet bbh over and over again, there are infinite skeppys, but only 1 bbh, and bbh knows that. There is a Skeppy in the QSMP universe that’s been with bbh for years now and has some remembrance of other timelines, the “main” skeppy, if you will (mostly eggpire stuff cause i love the eggpire (something i’ll, idk, make a comic about or something one day))

On the island itself, there’s something up with it that, when they woke up on the trains, BBH, Foolish, and Phil were simply drained of their abilities and magic. They still had some, but no where near enough to leave the island or contact anyone. That being said, BBH gets his energy from souls, something he doesn’t like to do with living beings. He also just naturally takes energy from people, so he plays the bit of the grim reaper that wants people to stay hydrated and takes care of all the eggs because if everyone is happy and healthy, he doesn’t have to worry about accidentally killing them!

There are some that resist him tho: Foolish and Phil, obviously, but also Dapper, Cheyenne, and Leo! The eggs seem to take in the dna of their parents somewhat so these 3 also get that pass... Also Missa, Slime, and Rubius..

Speaking of Rubius, BBH and him I feel like HAVE to have some backstory, they’ve totally met before, both are literally angels/demons. 

Back to Foolish, as much as they poke at one another, they do trust each other a lot, when they were in that dungeon where Foolish almost died, in my head, BBH was basically pulling Foolish out of the way of the Vindicators, digging his claws into Foolish, who then used his totem body to keep BBH from dying (when BBH spent 2 totems trying to pick him up) the third totem was a normal totem tho, him saying “You’re making me eat totems” was literal, he held it in his mouth and broke thru it to use it....

that’s not how they’re supposed to be use i just think it’d look cool...

Im thinking about how all the different phils think about family and how it contrast with each other

They all struggle with family getting ripped/taken away from them or just being not there in general, c!phil with being imortal and techno and wilbur, o!phil the backstory of how being ambiguous but he needs to find them by any means nessary and how it breaks him, and q!phil with chay and lulah being kidnapped over and over and him wanting to be close to missa but not seeing him more than 8 days the whole time hes known him

Also thinking about how they all veiw family relationships will impact thwir interations with each other

I don't have enough deep analyses on o!Phil to explode about it and we'd need Phil to actually drop whatever he has in mind for o!Phil's backstory but OUGH GOD YEAH THEY'RE ALL SO DAMAGED IN SIMILAR YET UNIQUE WAYS.

That would probably definitely be something I thoroughly explore in the AU. Something something deeply damaged and jaded people somehow seeing themselves in each other (which is funny in this case bc they're all the same dude from different universes) and gradually healing through that and ultimately becoming better(ish?) people.

It’s always them. It always comes back to them. And they’re so toxic for eachothers mental well-being it’s twisted. they’re sick.

Two things I like in a dynamic: they depth and funny- and that’s what they are I love them so much muchjjjj I hope they get to hang out moreee

3. Team BBGirls (BBH, Baghera, Gegg/Slime)

Their solidarity during the elections I love and I adore BBH and Slime interactions outside of it and the outcome not smth you would expect! Very loving support system for q!Slime methinks

4. Autotunetrio/ Slime and Tallulah

I made like a whole backstory about those three my like for them is solely powered by fake scenarios in my head. Slime and Tallulah are also there bc I find the things they have in common and their shared tendencies to be dramatic af (Tallulah takes it from her fave Tio Slime what can I say) is endearing.

5. BBH

Umbrella statement the tier dedicated to BBH duos (like Foolish, Dapper, etc) the QSMP rly makes him shine here and I love that for him ^^ One of my fave characters he’s pretty high up there

Honourable mentions: Insaneduo (bc,,,, reasons 😏), Death family (I only get to watch Phil during his early bird streams I find him very relaxing)

(Same anon as before, I just don't want to bother my friends that's why I'm not gonna rb it as of now) I do just want to talk about the hc cause it's such a better look then just possession (it's kinda bland imo) q!phil has quite resontly gotten out of some really traumatic events and has lost access to a space he considered safe. He's just a little guy who wants to be safe ;^;

I think possession arcs can definitely be interesting, but I do love giving characters unique or more underexplored reasons for those experiences.

It's definitely reasonable that Phil has been through some pretty intense trauma, probably all throughout his life. If we consider Hardcore as his internal mindspace (and thus not really his backstory but rather his innerworld), then we really don't know anything about him before the island. What kind of person was he? What did he go through?

DID in itself is a revealing disorder, in that by having it you must have experienced repeated trauma in early childhood, and have at least one alter develop during that time. What kind of trauma varies a lot between people, but just knowing that alone paints a pretty grim picture.

If you want to consider why I picture Ender is coming to the front now, most people with DID are covert most of the time (as in, you will not notice that they have it). During times of trauma or excess stress, this can become more overt and thus more obvious that the person has this disorder.

However we contextualize the world reset into lore terms, that's a pretty stressful situation. He doesn't have a house (security), and he doesn't have any of his stuff.

Ender is a pretty material person inherently. It was probably his job to some degree to keep ahold of their things, and to steal to get what they needed. The loss of their things is a trigger for him to specifically front more often, and Phil denying using/keeping Ender's things reads as a sort of attack. Thus, fight!

Rose is gone and unable to help. For DID q!Phil, she's gone dormant from the stress of keeping Phil protected and safe all the time. She'll be back, but not right now. This only adds to the stress for both Ender and Phil, who are caught in an endless loop of 'an Evil God is attacking me' and 'Why is Phil trying to exorcise me, rude, I am going to take it out on what he loves most.'

Because I write Phil having DID and, like many people with the disorder, he doesn't know he has it. For some Lore I've Made Up Reasons, Ender doesn't know that Phil doesn't know. Thus, fight!

It'll be interesting to see how I can incorporate the upcoming lore into this universe, but I am also willing to ignore canon if things get a little demonization-y (e.g. if Ender tries to kill the kids or something equally inexcusably violent, it toes the line between nuanced perspective of disorders and furthering the stigmatization of disorders).
