Indexing Items in Python
The code snippet provided shows how to insert an item into a list at a specific position rather than appending it at the end. Instead of adding "sunglasses" to the end of the list using append(), the task is to insert "sunglasses" at index 2 of the list travel_items. Explanation of the code:travel_items.insert(2, 'sunglasses') This uses the insert() method to add "sunglasses" at position 2.…

THIS EPISODE WAS INSANE, theres just so much I loved about it, John freaking out about his AirBnB rating, Sherlock resuming unzipping the body bag every time John said anything, John being SO SMART and seeing immediately what was wrong with the cane theory after Sherlock went ‘what do you think, Watson’, Sherlocks little ‘hello’ to the mic when he catches it (plus his flustered little ‘*huff* stop it’ when John is complimenting him), the chaotic trying-to-stand-on-Johns-shoulders and Sherlock ruffling his hair, SHERLOCK TALKING SO NICELY TO THE BIG FELLA (aka the horse that may or may not be Silver Blaze), the fucking ending??? WDYM GUNSHOTS????

Monty Python Fan watches Red Dwarf for the first time
(or, a Monty Python fan watches the Red Dwarf episode “Timeslides” for the first time)
Recently watched the Red Dwarf S3 Ep5 episode “Timeslides” for the first time, and I really liked and enjoyed it fr! It was very funny tbh, and ngl I fr relate with Lister’s existential dread with lounging about with nothing to do and wishing things went differently. I would absolutely love a Tension Sheet fr, I think it’d help me with my anxiety tbh
Kryten & Cat are so cool I absolutely love them both <33
Holly is a Sarcastic Queen fr 💅👑✨
Ruby Wax as Blaise (/Blaize) Falconburger was also pretty funny too, I really enjoyed her performance in the episode!
Ok the reason I did watch this episode was partly (actually no, not “partly”, it’s was “entirely” really lol) because of the fact that Monty Python member Graham Chapman was originally gonna play the role of Blaise(/Blaize) Falconburger, but he unfortunately passed away before rehearsals and filming began, and so the role was given to Ruby Wax at the last minute.
Idk why, but if in some AU where Graham never had cancer (or, at the very least in an AU where Graham’s cancer wasn’t as rapid and he was still well enough to at least appear in cameos or smth idk), this scene truly would’ve hit different at the time as it probably would’ve been, like, his final final acting role or smth, ya’know what I mean?
Like the episode is about people entering into photographs, like MOVING photographs, and so if Graham appeared in this episode as was originally planned, his performance really would’ve really given the episode a whole new meaning to it. Like the episode is about people going into the past via photographs from the past, and trying to change the timeline so they could have a different future compared to the one they currently have, so they could have a better AU life than the one they currently have, an AU life where they are happy and content compared to the mundane monotony and lack of excitement in their original life. Graham’s would-be performance had he not died would’ve (imo) represented this heightened sense of longing to be in a AU where everything is alright and good and happy and the world was ok for once (like for example, Graham Chapman not having cancer and is still alive and well and happy), as well as being really emotional too 🥺🥺😭😭❤️❤️.
Anyway, those are my thoughts and I apologise for making everyone sad now.
To cheer myself and y’all, the Red Dwarf theme song absolutely slaps fr 💯💯💯

Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969-1974)
I've just finished Monty Python's flying circus and I've forgotten how good the series is (of course there are some parts that aren't as good mainly in series 3/4). There were sketches that really made me laugh. I think my favourite series are season 1 and 2, it has the best and funniest sketches.
I can see where John was coming from when he was saying that in Series 3 they were repeating themselves they were quite a lot of sketches that were similar to ones from season 1/2. When I watched it before I didn't notice that.
Another thing I realised from a second time round is how good Terry Gilliam's animations are. When I watched it before it was my least favourite part but now I appreciate it a lot more. Maybe it's because I can see how painstaking it must of been (especially as I had to create a stop motion animation project for college last year and it was so difficult) and how amazing it must have been for 1969.

The semester started and my sleep schedule instantly crumbled. My fatigue has come roaring back and I get to reacclimatize to the bottom of my energy reserves.
On the upside, I have 6/13 pages completed. I’m gonna post the first half for Ko-fi members when I finish 7 pages.
#ramblies#then I am absolutely not doing another comic cause I get sucked in and don’t have as much time to learn#I built in lesson times to my schedule to start learning python and reviewing rigging stuff#dunno if I’m worth anything today as I slept like shit#grunt work days at least allow for inking

#Excel is actually a decent editor for writing Java#it makes it very difficult to make some of the most common Java mistakes#like writing code in Java
"Lol"
"Lmao" even.
Is this an "I have written too much Java" emotion or an "I refuse to touch Java" emotion?
I am, perhaps, overstating my aversion to the language - I don't really hate Java, I just don't find it terribly fun to work in (although it's been years since the last time I had to, so maybe IDE advances have made it more palatable now). I've worked on some Java projects that were quite well put together, but I've also seen my share of code with types like ProducerFactory<FactoryProducer, IGatewayFactoryFactory>.
In general if speed is not an essential part of a project I prefer to write in Python for its terseness and extremely effective syntactic sugar (context managers, generators, etc.), and if speed IS essential then various C variants, Rust, or even Go will almost certainly outperform Java. So it's not entirely clear to me why Java is still used outside of legacy code.
#FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE!#python does of course run into problems if you have a large enough project and inexperienced developers or poor code review practices#because sooner or later someone's going to do something 'clever' like hiding important things inside properties#or mucking about with metaclasses without understanding how to properly scope magic#and then you're in trouble#('clever' in this context is the sort of cleverness where you get a perl regex to compute fibonacci numbers)#(i.e. the sort of thing that's fun to do for fun but should never be put in production code)#I saw some code at google once where accessing what appeared to be an ordinary attribute actually froze for 45m#because it was a property that fetched the value from a sandbox environment#and if there wasn't a sandbox environment currently running it would spin up a new one from scratch and wait for everything in it to come u

To whom it may concern, i think I've found a new game engine to fully dedicate myself to
Godot, because it looks just like game maker but i dont have to pay 5 dollars everytime I want to actually publish something
And i could finally make games available for mac!! What a concept
#i havent tried it yet but the reviews look good#i just hope the published result is a simple .exe file and not something that asks you to install random .dll files to work#like rpg maker and some visual novels#which is the one point that game maker has in its favour#well that and the fact that I know what Im doing lmao#but hey! godot is python based! python is not hard I can do that#they also have avaliable 3d games but i rather stick to 2d pixelated games#can you believe im an actual game developer? no way

I loved the episode so much omg, Johns little laughs when Sherlock is confronting ‘Presbury’, Sherlock calming John down after getting him outta the pool (AND CALLING HIM JOHN), Marianas cat pregnancy, the cat himself, Sherlock covering for Mariana by pretending he made the cat noises out of excitement, ‘I have a dog, and a detective, to look after’, it was just great

Ripping Yarns (1976/1979)
I recently watched Ripping Yarns written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones on Youtube and I really liked it, some of the episodes I liked more than others (a favourite episode doesn't come to mind). Michael was really good in it (and he looked so handsome in it - added bonus 😏). The other actors of which all of them I'd never heard of before were really good. Even though I can understand why Terry J didn't star in any other episodes apart from the pilot, I kind of wished that he did feature or at least as like a guest star or a cameo. I loved that John did a cameo in the final episode (Golden Gordon), that's so funny.
I really recommend watching it if you haven't. It's all available in Youtube
