These are merely personal theories and headcanons. All could be disproven, so please consider them with a grain of salt.
My top headcanons and theories:
1) I firmly believe that Kaveh is Hine Mavuika's reincarnated sister. I am willing to defend this belief; I will die on this hill.
Tumblr media
2) This is less of a theory and more of a headcanon: I believe Alhaitham arranged for or sent Kaveh away during the Sumeru Archon quest. Regardless of whether you ship them or not, they care for each other. I found Kaveh's sudden trip to the desert during the Archon quest to be random.
Tumblr media
3) I also play Honkai: Star Rail and have a theory, though I do not have any supporting evidence. I think the Traveler and the Trailblazer are the same species. They likely both have a Stellaron inside them and share the same golden eyes.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
4) The small saurian in the Natlan world quest is the reincarnated Pyro Dragon.
Tumblr media
5) Headcanon: Alhaitham can see the Aranara, not due to childlike wonder or the Aranara themselves trusting him, but simply out of spite.
Tumblr media
6) Another theory: Herta from Honkai: Star Rail is possibly one of the witches belonging to the Hexenzirkel.
Tumblr media
7) Honkai: Star Rail takes place after the Genshin Impact storyline.

I have (not) returned. I'm here just to share a shower thought: Why the hell did Xiuhcoatl need to make Golden Entreaty, or an object similar to the Golden Entreaty, anyway?
I know Waxaklahun said that piecing the remaining Golden Entreaties together would activate Huitzilopochtli, but the current Golden Entreaties (presumably) weren't Xiuhcoatl's creations, because they were made using Xiuhcoatl's corpse after Xbalanque slain him, used as tokens of peace between Xbalanque and Waxaklahun.
The eyes of the great dragon[Xiuhcoatl], split in two by the sword of the children of man.
- "Revelation from the Past" Quest
A white disc retrieved from the ruler of Cinder City's corroded ruins within Ochkanatlan. It is one of the essential tokens required to journey to the Great Volcano of Tollan and remove the "Flamelord's Blessing" from the little Tepetlisaur's body, and is said to have been one of the fragments left behind when the Flamelord's eye was split in two.
- "Between Pledge and Forgettance" Golden Entreaty
While in that same Golden Entreaty:
According to legend, it is said that the ancient Dragonlord — who once held dominion over all light and wisdom — transformed one of his eyes into a conduit of supreme authority by which all flames might be governed, and that this became his only exploitable weakness...
Xiuhcoatl already used his eye to make a "conduit of supreme authority" to govern all flames before he was slain. Emphasis on "authority". I always find the naming strange, does it means "authority" of the Dragon Sovereigns, the one that allowed them to have supreme control over their elements, or something else? By the naming alone I think it's the former. So that means Xiuhcoatl created his elemental authority.
But again, it's so strange. He was the Pyro Sovereign, why the need of making his authority if he was already a Sovereign? Didn't it came naturally with his Sovereignty?
...Or is it?
This makes me wonder: Do the Dragon Sovereigns' Elemental Authorities came naturally to them, like something they were born with, or did they have to craft it/did something to attain it?
To be honest, I lean towards the former. Confirmed Dragon Sovereigns have motherhood theming to them. Which makes sense, they're the original ruler of Teyvat after all, the true creators. I don't know how to say this, but they have a more "natural" feeling to them, like biology and such, more related to organic life, kind of way.
Read here if you want to see the Sovereigns motherhood theming! But if you want to see a glimpse of what I mean:
Tumblr media
Apep's immune system having DNA-like attacks
Tumblr media
Sourcewater Droplets having DNA-like thing inside them, almost like an egg cell.
Contrast this with the Archons. They're Celestia-backed rulers, invaders from afar. No wonder if they have a more artificial feeling to them. The Archons tend to have more mechanical or even computer-like theming or is an adept in on of them.
Raiden Ei created two mechanical puppets, Scaramouche and Raiden Shogun, and now presides her consciousness in the later.
Focalors created the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale.
Zhongli didn't have one, but he's surrounded by people adept in machinery, like Guizhong and Xianyun.
Nahida, Avatar of Irminsul, have cursor-like charge attacks and her skill... well, you know it. Considering Irminsul itself behave like a computer, that makes sense.
Mavuika has a motorbike, 'nuf said.
(Once again, Venti is an outlier. Or maybe he has one but I miss it? Please tell me if I do😅🙏)
But by now, you guys must know who has a mechanical theming to them while also being the original ruler of Teyvat, right?
Yep, that's right. Xiuhcoatl.
Nah, I digress. The whole Natlan feels mechanical, and some say modern. We all know by now that it's because the Natlan’s dragons civilization is so damn advanced.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These b*tches are dragons' creations. The dragons possibly have spaceships or space lifts, etc. Man, there are too many examples to count.
I have to admit, Natlan’s incredibly advanced civilization came out of nowhere, for me personally. We do have mentions of dragons' courts through Scylla, Wenut, and Apep. But I think no one could infer from there that the dragons were insanely advanced to the point of making spaceships.
But... if this was an isolated case in Natlan, Xiuhcoatl not being the original Pyro Sovereign could explain it. Since he wasn't the original, he might lack the "life-giving" aspect of the Dragons Sovereigns, so he compensated it machinery and technology. Filling the natural world with artificiality.
I also want to point out to the Elemental Authority itself. This is Neuvillette when he received his Elemental Authority:
Tumblr media
The bubbles may not be the Hydro Authority in its literal sense, but it is the representation of it. Maybe the Authority itself isn't visible to the naked eyes, and represented as elemental energy itself.
While the Golden Entreaty itself is a bunch of physical objects. And it isn't far-fetched to assume Xiuhcoatl's original Golden Entreaty also looked like one.
Tumblr media
I once theorized that Xiuhcoatl wasn't the original Pyro Sovereign. Namely just because his beta name is Xolotl, lol. But with the Golden Entreaty's description and the mechanical/modern theming to Natlan, it makes... sense?
Btw look at this post with the wonderful @kajenus to understand what I mean, lol.
If he wasn't the original Pyro Sovereign, it's possible that the Pyro Authority didn't descend or manifest correctly with him, forcing him to create a substitute or a mechanical aid to govern Pyro element. And also, it connects to the Pyro and Natlan’s themings! Legacy and succession!
youtube
Watch this wonderful video by ABD Illustrates! Their theory is made before Natlan dropped, but it holds extremely well! But tl;dr for you guys; Pyro characters often have a theming of being the successor or having parental figures that pushed them forward. "Passing the torch," so to speak. Pyro Archons also worked like this, they're normal humans succeding the Pyro Archonhood.
Natlan too have a huge theme on legacy. Honoring the past and their heroes, yet also striving forward to a better future.
So isn't it fitting that the original wielder of the Pyro Authority was actually also a successor too? The one who upholds his predecessor's legacy?
But idk, this is just a random shower thought that popped out while I'm stressing over my exams. And 5.5 is just around the corner, this theory will age badly, isn't it😅
Tl;Dr: Xiuhcoatl might not be the original Pyro Sovereign. His beta name was Xolotl, yet the name still exist in-game. The Golden Entreaty hinted that he didn't or couldn't wield the Pyro Authority normally, forcing him to use his eye as a "conduit of supreme authority" to govern all flames. This could also explain why Natlan’s dragon civilization was so advanced, as Xiuhcoatl might lack the "life-giving" aspect of natural-born Dragon Sovereigns, so he compensated it with technology. Also, it fits the theme of Pyro and Natlan of succession and legacy.

Tf2 dragon au time! I've had these guys in my brain for years and I finally decided to update them. So ask me anything and enjoy!
(please dont ask about the Sydney Sleeper would logistically work. Please I don't want to this about the biological implications of that modification.)
Tumblr media
Despite his wings, Scout can't actually fly. He never learnt how to and can't get more than a flap or two in before losing coordination.
Tumblr media
Soldier here works nearly identically to his human counterpart. Though he lacks the shotguns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Surprisingly in this universe it's common for dragons to lack or have very rudamentary flame sacs. Course, Demo here has no need for spitting out hot rocks like the others, not when he's got his bombs.
Tumblr media
Medic used to be a student of Merasmus, Studying healing and black magic. He doesn't care about beating up his old mentor every year though
Tumblr media
Spy was a damn nightmare to design and incorporate gameplay designs into. His mimic ability is akin to that of an octopus or cuttlefish, changing colours and contorting himself to copy the shape of his target. The disguises are terrible and yet they still work for just long enough to get in striking distance.

Have you heard of the canonical/ingame xbalanque x xiuhcoatl genderswap fanfic writing group yet
You ask me THAT? You ask the Xiuhcoatl's simp that scoured every crumbs of his mention in the game??? Of course I do.
Personally, I don't agree with the ship, but why do they have to heterofy it😒 If they want to ship them so bad, at least commit to it and make it a DOOMED (and optional: toxic) YAOI as God intended😤✊️
But if you want to hear my copium-riddled brain's opinion... it actually makes sense. Not that Xiuhcoatl is actually female, but in a way, he also embodied femininity.
(TW: Mentions of pregnancy. Nothing graphic though.)
Take a look at other confirmed sovereigns:
• Neuvillette: He's pretty feminine, actually. Not just in appearance (long hair with a bow tie, superb eyelashes, his name having -ette, a feminine suffix, etc,) but also in narrative. He's regarded as the father of the melusine, and his love for them are nurturing, almost maternal-like. He forgave the Fontainians and made them into real humans with real blood, almost like pregnancy turning an embrio into a real flesh and blood. He also has a Persephone theme going on:
Tumblr media
He's the Persephone to Focalors' Hades, who tricked him to dwell in Fontaine (the Netherworld) and care for the Fontainians. He's also the Heart of the Primordial Sea, the sea that birthed Teyvat's original lifeforms.
And his sourcewater droplets have dna-looking thing in them, almost like an egg cell/ovum:
Tumblr media
So yeah, Neuvillette is MOTHERING😤
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Apep: The dragon has female voice. 'Nuf said/j. But joking aside, she indeed have many life-giving aspect of motherhood:
Tumblr media
Elemental lifeforms were born and nurtured inside her, and she planned to release her "children" after they matured... this is literally pregnancy. Warden of Oasis Prime, her immune system's second boss form holds an embrio, in a pose almost like a mother holding her child:
Tumblr media
And it's attacks are littered with DNA imagery:
Tumblr media
So yeah, Xiuhcoatl being feminine isn't far-fetched. In fact, I expect him to be so. It seems Sovereigns act as the life-giving forces of the original world, and Xiuhcoatl is no exception. The fanfic writers probably catch his feminine side and run along with it.
Plus, if he's the one who created Huitzilopochtli, that's actually pretty cool. Because not only it reversed his position as Huitzilopochtli's weapon in the myth, he also embodied two important female figures in Huitzilopochtli's life:
• Huitzilopochtli's mother (if we go by Codex Florentine), Coatlicue. She has many snake imageries, and Huitzilopochtli is practically her weapon against the stars and moon, the night, which we can take as a metaphor for the Abyss in game.
Coatlicue is represented as a woman wearing a skirt of writhing snakes and a necklace made of human hearts, hands, and skulls. Her feet and hands are adorned with claws and her breasts are depicted as hanging flaccid from pregnancy. Her face is formed by two facing serpents, which represent blood spurting from her neck after she was decapitated. According to Aztec legend, Coatlicue was once magically impregnated by a ball of feathers that fell on her while she was sweeping a temple. She subsequently gave birth to the god Huitzilopochtli. Her daughter the goddess Coyolxauhqui then rallied Coatlicue's four hundred other children together and goaded them into attacking and decapitating their mother. The instant she was killed, the god Huitzilopochtli suddenly emerged from her womb fully grown and armed for battle.
- Wikipedia "Coatlicue"
• But considering Xiuhcoatl's moon imagery, and the fact that he was killed by the Huitzilopochtli's equivalent in game, Xbalanque, he could also embodied Huitzilopochtli's sister, Coyolxauhqui, the Goddess of the Moon.
On the summit of Coatepec ("Serpent Mountain") sat a shrine for Coatlicue, the maternal Earth deity. One day, as she swept her shrine, a ball of hummingbird feathers fell from the sky. She "snatched them up; she placed them at her waist." Thus, she became pregnant with the deity Huītzilōpōchtli. Her miraculous pregnancy embarrassed Coatlicue's other children, including her eldest daughter, Coyolxāuhqui. Hearing of her pregnancy, the Centzonhuītznāhua, led by Coyolxāuhqui, decided to kill Coatlicue. As they prepared for battle and gathered at the base of Coatepec, one of the Centzonhuītznāhua, Quauitlicac, warned Huītzilōpōchtli of the attack while he was in utero. Hearing of the attack, the pregnant Cōātlīcue miraculously gave birth to a fully grown and armed Huītzilōpōchtli who sprang from her womb, wielding "his shield, teueuelli, and his darts and his blue dart thrower, called xinatlatl." Huītzilōpōchtli killed Coyolxāuhqui, beheading her and throwing her body down the side of Coatepec: "He pierced Coyolxauhqui, and then quickly struck off her head. It stopped there at the edge of Coatepetl. And her body came falling below; it fell breaking to pieces; in various places her arms, her legs, her body each fell." As for his brothers, the Centzonhuītznāhua, he scattered them in all directions from the top of Coatepec. He pursued them relentlessly, and those who escaped went south.
- Wikipedia "Coyolxauhqui"
(Btw this supports my copium theory that Xiuhcoatl-Xbalanque are Natlan's symbolic twins. Having similarities with both the mother and sister of the God of the Sun and War... damn.)
In conclusion: Xiuhcoatl might not be female, but he probably does embody femininity. Thanks for the ask!
