just fyi, the puzzle peice symbol is seen as offensive to autistic ppl (such as myself), because it implies that there is a missing peice of the puzzle, if you will, further implying something is wrong with us. Just reiderating something I've heard 🤷🏼 /nm /neu
Dear anonymous,
Thank you for sharing your perspective on the puzzle piece symbol. It's important to remember that the autism community is incredibly diverse, and interpretations of symbols like the puzzle piece can vary widely among individuals.
The puzzle piece symbol was originally intended to represent the complexity and diversity of the autism spectrum. The idea was that autism is not a one-size-fits-all condition, but rather a 'puzzle' of diverse symptoms and experiences that can vary greatly from person to person. It was not meant to imply that something is 'missing' or 'wrong' with autistic individuals.
However, I understand that some people in the autism community, like yourself, interpret the symbol differently and find it offensive. This is a valid perspective, and it's crucial to respect and acknowledge these feelings.
At the same time, there are also many autistic individuals who do not find the symbol offensive and see it as a representation of their unique experiences and the diversity of the autism spectrum. It's important to remember that there is no 'right' or 'wrong' interpretation here - each person's feelings and perspectives are valid and should be respected.
In the end, the decision to accept or reject the puzzle piece symbol is a personal one. Each autistic individual has the right to decide for themselves how they feel about the symbol and what it represents to them.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Open discussions like these are essential for fostering understanding and respect within our community.

Recently the new puzzles I ordered arrived in the mail. I was super happy to get them and even more excited about putting them together. Did you know that TODAY, Jan 29th is National Puzzle Day?! This time of year our days seems to move a little more slowly - which I cherish. Spring always seems to arrive so suddenly and there’s always so much to do. But for now I have the peace of the winter and the quiet evenings to sit around with family (or even by myself) and put together a puzzle at the dining room table. There are certainly unending options of puzzles to buy these days. I used the Snap2Finish photo platform and uploaded some favorite pictures from a vacation my oldest daughter took to make these as a surprise for her. Even the smaller puzzle (8x10 and 110 pieces) can be a bit challenging. But if you want more challenge, the puzzles can be created as large as a 20”x30” which is 1,014 pieces. Still not enough challenge for you? Try creating a puzzle with a collage of your favorite pictures! There is also the option for a children’s puzzle. The 11x14 has only 30 pieces (compared to 252 pieces in the same size of our adult puzzle). These are not just for children. They are also great for anyone at any age that wants to improve their fine motor skills. When my mom had her stroke several years ago I made and brought a children’s puzzle when I would visit her and we’d make it together. It was a beautiful way to connect and visit. The puzzles come in a nice gift box with an image of the finished puzzle on the box cover. Perfect for gifting too. What kind of puzzles do you like to make? I’m thinking I should have some ‘seasonal’ ones that I pack away and get away with the different holiday decor. I have books I do that with… why not puzzles. #puzzlepiece #puzzleday #familyfun #vacationlife #adventuresawait #ygyclub #digital #photography #ygyphoto https://www.instagram.com/p/CoBNTwPvMXP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

🍸✨ Long time no chat, Hakucchi!
I was thinking, the other day, about those late nights we used to share with one another. I really miss those days. Even if it was you mostly listening to my woes and would repent.
Those times were rough on me but you made them bearable.
So!
I was hoping you could swing by the bar later and let me treat you, the good ol’ fashioned Ruizz way!
Rui! So good to hear from you!
I'm glad I was able to help you through it all. I don't think I'd forgive myself if I left you hanging when you needed me most. Besides, it wasn't all just listening. Don't tell me you forgot all that time we spent practicing our lines together. I thought I swept you off your feet for a moment there. Shame, it's really hard to compete with you. At this rate, you're practically the king in his rizz palace. The thrones right here, your majesty~
But, yeah, of course. I'll come swing by. Only as long as I'm able to treat you next time, too. We're thinking about hosting a party here in Hotarubi again. I figured maybe we could enjoy the music from the safety of my dorm? ;)
Just name a time and place, and we'll make it a date.

Fragile Canvas
Who is there when not loving? Who exists if not giving? A taped-together heart, held out, Hoping it will be taken, Seen like a priceless work of art— Something to be admired, Never touched.
Because the moment it is, Everything falls apart.
Tears of acceptance fall, Breaths of doubt are drawn. How can someone so wonderful, Hold broken pieces in hand, And not see that putting them together Is a waste of time?
Once the whole picture is seen, Departure feels inevitable. The puzzle, complete, No longer new or shiny— Just a worn-out puzzle with missing pieces, In a worn-out box, Lost but never found.

The puzzle piece
The puzzle piece as an autism symbol has been a subject of debate for some time. I understand the concerns and respect the varied perspectives within our diverse community. However, there's a lot of misinformation that leads people to view the puzzle piece symbol negatively, and I want to clarify a few points about why I personally resonate with it.
1️⃣ Misconception: The puzzle piece implies that autistic individuals are 'incomplete' or need 'solving'. Truth: The puzzle piece can symbolize the complexity of the autism spectrum. It reflects the diversity and uniqueness of each individual's experiences. No one is 'incomplete' or needs 'solving'; instead, we are all different pieces of a larger societal puzzle.
2️⃣ Misconception: The puzzle piece was initially used to represent 'puzzling' behavior that needed to be 'solved'. Truth: The original symbol was a puzzle piece with an image of a crying child, introduced by the National Autistic Society in the UK. It represented the 'puzzling' nature of autism at a time when there was little understanding or acceptance of the condition. The symbol has since evolved to exclude the crying child, and the meaning has changed with societal progress in understanding autism.
3️⃣ Misconception: The puzzle piece is universally rejected by the autistic community. Truth: Opinions vary widely within our diverse community. Some prefer the infinity symbol in rainbow colors to reflect neurodiversity, while others feel a connection to the puzzle piece and what it symbolizes today. It's essential to respect each individual's choice.
It's okay to have a symbol that resonates with you and represents your journey or experiences with autism. For me, the puzzle piece is a symbol of how we each contribute uniquely to the larger picture of life and society. What are your thoughts on the matter? Let's have a respectful and constructive conversation!

Transition means Change
We’re ‘in the middle’ of transitory times. The old puzzle-pieces are worn out and  new pieces have to be made to fit together to overcome a paradigm-shift, producing a sustainable System lasting for decades - more likely, centuries! - to come. The Anthropocene is done!!
