#linktober#linktober 2024#the legend of zelda#wind waker#ocarina of time#loz#loz ww#loz oot#link#josh art tag#had a lot of fun with this one despite how annoying it was to draw#oot link was at a difficult angle and i also just could not shade this for the life of me. restarted the shading like 3 times#i think im reaching that point in the cycle i typically go thru with my artstylr where ive grown tired of my shading style#to the point that i forget how to do it and it never quite looks right#so if my next post features changes to my artstyle thats why lol#but i enjoyed making this despite that cuz i like the ideas behind it!#i normally wouldve redesigned ww!link's outfit but i purposefully drew it accurately#to highlight how its more like a costume. cuz thats kinda what it was! and its modeled after the hero of times clothes#but is pretty innacurate. which i think is cool.. shows how much time has passed and how the view of the hero of time has warped#so i also purposefully made oot link wearing my redesigned outfit for him (even if you cant see much of it at this angle)#to further emphasize how ww!link's outfit is not only essentially a costume but is also quite innacurate#i like having ww!link ditch the costume for something else to show how he stops being some kid in oot!link's shadow#and grows into a true hero of his own#hence my ww!link redesign where i put him back in the lobster shirt. but i do keep some green and something similar to the hat#to have him fit in with the other links while still being unique#look i have a lot of feelings about ww!link and oot!link#i wish zelda would do more stuff like this... i think having oot relate to wind waker makes the story more interesting#and makes ww!link more interesting! cuz he cant be the hero of time they want. but he does become the real hero they need#the oot ww tp trio is so good... and they all work great as standalone games but their connections do really add something

#kingdom hearts#kh#khux#khux Skuld#kh skuld#kingdom hearts Skuld#skuld kh#Skuld kingdom hearts#got distracted from typing the tags by going to watch cutscenes with Skuld my friend Skuld in them#I love her#design notes: she got the scarf because it reminded her of Ephemer AND Braig#you can’t see it but under it she has a star necklace that reminded her of Player#this is based on the subject x Skuld theory! hence the scar. she got it either from just player or got one of the lines from fighting#darkness and the other from player idk#her coat was given to her by Braig/Luxu when he broke her out of radiant garden! it’s slightly too small for her now#she’s tall!!! to me. over 6ft. not quite Lea but still tall#her earrings are the only things that survived from her original outfit. everything else is new#she doesn’t have gloves because I forgo. then I was really happy with how I shaded the hand so I’m not putting gloves on her now.#but she probably does have them#she’s been living in Quantum for a while and is sorta tied up in some illegal shit but nothing really bad.#her and Strelitzia are friends!!! they met at a coffee shop when it was raining and Shuld was the only one with an umbrella#they didn’t realise they were both from daybreak until Skuld saw a painting Strez did and broke down crying.#her memory is still kinda fucked. when she first arrived in Quantum she didn’t remember her name yet and went by X.#she started collecting things that reminded her of the friends she couldn’t quite remember. she’s got a shoe box or two of trinkets#she also will get something if it reminds her of Lea/Isa because even if being in RG was hell she still misses them.#also Vanitas is there. he’s her terrible little brother who bites people. she loves him. he is the only reason she knows her own name#she found him and her heart recognised him as Ventus her brother Ventus. she knows he’s not all of Ventus now but it’s too late#he’s her little brother now. she’s trying to rehabilitate him like taming a feral kitten. he’s switching between ‘I want to be loved’ and#‘I’m evil fuck you’. she introduces as ‘this is my evil brother he is terrible and rude but we’re working on it and I love him.’#she would get along great with Sora I think.

#silm#silmarillion#elrond#plague doctor#hc that the general outfit becomes the m-e equivalent of doctors' white coats#other plague healers (esp in numenor) typically wear silver or black masks to help distinguish elrond#bc if there's an emergency and someone is dying of Shadow or something its very helpful to be able to locate elrond by the white mask#in the ares ridden with disease or war it's almost instant relief to see that glowing bone-white mask approaching#despite the initial off putting nature of the whole outfit#(non numenoreans who don't see him/general peredhel weirdness as often tend to be substantially more alarmed)#i have a whole set of other versions but i havent gotten around to coloring those yet

i was sincerely hoping someone would bring up sof so i could show off all the designing ive been doing in my free time LMAO here's ganon as of rn :)
#design subject to change but not for much longer because im almost at the point where i have to make him appear in the comic lol#asks#loz: sword of fate#also he's just ganon in sof not ganondorf! dorf as a suffix is. well it's used for villages in german according to my very brief research#but yknow japanese writers i will cut them some slack. anyway since he's the first ganon i thought removing the suffix would be appropriate#like it was added onto the name in later generations or something. you get what im saying. this makes sense#anyway design things i want to point out. the mask gets flipped after link cuts it open during a miniboss fight which serves as the first#reveal that ganon is like. his age. a kid. + by the time link sees him next he's put it back together upside down.#the flipped shiekah eye is a symbol in itself obv but the 3 dots r also supposed to sort of evoke the triforce when it gets flipped#hence why the one on top (power) is white while the others are fully filled in!#and the horns when flipped are supposed to resemble boar tusks a bit irt later incarnations lol#color symbolism in his design also--as the story goes on he becomes more generally desaturated and the hair turns bright red which becomes#his dominating color. one of the first things to go as he begins to spiral are the blue elements of his outfit bc he's losing wisdom!#anyway. i put too much thought into this LMAO <3#skribbles
