Cutesy little headcanons for golden boys, go:

I like to think of them as being very different but somehow compatible Purpled seems to be a very independent and proud person— He's quiet, not very sociable, doesn't have a lot of people he's close to, and basically only talks to his dog. He has this whole thing about "I don't need anyone and I can do everything by myself" going on Tommy is a lot more outgoing. He has friends and family and backup when he needs them and as loud and annoying as he is, people tend to like him. And to me he seems like the type of guy to stop at nothing to become friends with someone else Tommy likely decided to befriend this edgy angsty antisocial dude and annoy him to the brink, and Purpled thought he was obnoxious but secretly loves the attention and being able to mean something to someone not as a weapon or an ally but as a friend Tommy definitely showers the other in gifts and praise and affection Purpled gets shy easily, shows it through antennae and tail(s). He still doesn't like to talk about his feelings but makes sure Tommy knows he loves him They're extremely protective of eachother (finally having someone to call theirs) (Purpled avoids everyone besides Dogchamp, Tommy, and maybe later on Shroud) They're probably disgusting with how much they adore eachother Ughhh I have so much more I hate these dumb blond bitches /pos

Me and Shroud found this weird mob that was like a pig but with fluffy grey white fur on it. Looking like some puppy wondering around the house. It being clinging and following Shroud around like it knew him. I told him to wait outside while I go get us some snacks to feed us and the weird puppy. But come back to seeing the two gone and going down the same path we always see the letters we sent you go down. So just in case. Look out for him please! He'll get in trouble for wandering without anyone with him. Thank you!!

Anon, you have opened a DOOR and I thank you cause I've been needing an excuse to talk about my thoughts!

Imma try and summarize here but either way this will probably be lengthy - so fair warning on that ^^ (also this is like... So very much based on headcanons that got out of control cause cPurpled has next to nothing going on lore wise till Las Nevadas and I wanted to flesh him out)

I also feel like it's good to note that my Purpled design plays into the alien vibe, bros got four arms, some extra eyes, antenna, the whole shebang - but anyways.

For the background headcanons, it is more so a thing for Purpled, cause yeah it would be funny to say he really is just a bit of an angsty teenager who wants to be left alone but also consider what if he was a bit fucked up. My idea is that due to also being a mercenary (of sorts) Purpled has more recently been experiencing freedom so to speak, till the smp he had been raised up to be a mercenary - raised and trained as a living weapon and only now is he kinda out on his own. Punz has a similar origin but that was years ago for them, they aren't bothered and have long since adapted to their lifestyle of mercenary work.

The dynamic of the two is somewhat brotherly on the surface, but it's more so of an apprentice situation. Purpled was picked out of a crowd to be further trained out in the real world by Punz, their relationship is not particularly healthy in any manner and is far from a sibling bond. Purpled came to the SMP with Punz but due to a stagnation in work on the server Purpled is somewhat left to his own devices, though Punz checks in here and there and they do have semi-regular training sessions. After all Punz does take his job as a mentor somewhat seriously.

I'm still working on actually figuring out the environment that Purpled was raised in, since a lot of what he went through effects his character/gives some reasoning for some behaviors as well as fuels my other headcanons, but yeah uh not a very poggers early teenhood.

As for the Purpled joins the syndicate au, would love to get an official sort of name for it, it uses a lot of my headcanons as a base and namely the background stuff! It's a storyline that would eventually really dive into my interpretation of Purpled and his thought processes as he finally gets into a situation where he can heal from the environment he was raised in.

It's rather canon divergent, being post prison break and basically, due to a turn of events Purpled ends up effectively "saving" Tommy from Dream and this leads to Golden Duo getting help from Phil and Techno, Tommy basically doesn't know where else to go and defactos to finding Phil- Purpled sticks with him due to the fact that Punz has more or less brought him into their & Dream's plans as a 'failsafe' of sorts - so Purpled briefly scrapping with Dream and interfering certainly isn't going to go over well and Purpled would much rather to just avoid whatever would come out of that consequence wise.

So not only are Golden Duo forced to deal with eachother, they now also are staying at the commune for a bit. They have some fun interactions and exchanges during this but my Golden Duo thoughts are for another day. Tommy does eventually leave, but Purpled sticks around for a bit longer - despite his denial of any assistance and consistent "I don't need your help" statements.

This eventually segways into a little mission to go get Dogchamp from his base, since while Purpled isn't opening up about it Techno and Phil can both kinda tell that the kid doesn't want to go back to the general SMP for some reason. So of course once worries of his dog are mentioned Techno makes the offer to go help get Dogchamp and to bring him back to the commune since he understands the value of a good animal companion.

Purpled of course tries to say that he doesn't need help, unfortunately for Purpled Technoblade does not care and can see through his angsty "I don't need anyone's help," bs.

So they go get Dogchamp, during this Techno probably does some prodding and questioning to try and get some details outta the alien, this doesn't really work but my idea is that Purpled makes an offhanded comment about being trained to be an effective living weapon of a mercenary. This offhanded comment seals his fate pretty much, cause by the gods does Techno understand that treatment wayyy to well. So an offer is given for Purpled to join the book club, and well, the syndicate gains another member after some time - even if said member is a bit walled off, he's a member none the less.

I still don't have a code-name for Purpled but that's kinda how the whole thing starts, I have additional notes but I'll save em for now since this is a long enough post as it is- but yeah, it's a silly little concept that I really do like and hopefully I can do something with it at some point.

im writing an au that is supposed to include everyone in the dsmp. but i am a humble enjoyer and dont know about lots of characters, purpled included. can i get a guidebook to writing cpurpled? any tropes to avoid, motivations you see people getting wrong, etc?

okay so. purpled is Interesting bc there's a lot of depth to his character in the sense that he himself is not self-aware of his own actions/wants, making for there being three purpleds: the purpled that he shows to others, the purpled he feels he is, and the true purpled he himself isn't even fully aware of. and depending on how deep you wanna explore into his character, that third one likely won't even come into play, because that is more of an instance of a character study/purpled-centric piece, but i'll go over it anyways, just in case! splitting this into parts below the cut to make categorizing things a bit easier :]

first, the basics:

purpled has a very. unique way of talking. in serious moments, he's calm, collected, and intimidating, and will act like you'd expect a broody teenaged mercenary to. most of the time, though, his speech pattern is the world's most ungodly mixture of teenage boy and starving victorian orphan.

in fight or flight, he chooses fight 100% of the time, even if that fight is not immediate.

purpled only cares about a handful of things: self-preservation, his image, and money. this doesn't necessarily mean he won't do "good" things, just that his motives are less about saving people and more about advancing his own agenda. during the red banquet, for example, he only saved the attendants because he was paid to. eret called him a hero for it, but it was nothing more than a matter of who paid more. his morals are extremely skewed,

but he's not inherently malicious. he's indifferent. his actions are logical, not emotional, so despite harming others for his own gain, he typically holds no ill-will towards them. for example, the wiki cites that he and bad have a negative relationship for betraying the eggpire during the banquet, but in reality, purpled really doesn't see bad in anything but a neutral way. there are very few people he holds either positive or negative emotions towards, as his default state is indifferent, but willing to go along with the other person's emotions if they pay enough.

the only people he does feel a semblance of strong emotions towards are: hannah, boomer, ponk, tubbo, jack, and quackity. he has positive personal relationships with hannah, boomer, ponk, and tubbo, seeing them as genuine friends. additionally, ponk, tubbo, and jack are fellow businessmen, which he very much admires. quackity, of course, is the one person on the list he has overtly negative feelings towards, something that possibly extended towards slime after the ln finale, as well. he has an Odd relationship with tommy in the sense that they're somewhat rivals, but not in the usual fandom sense where "oh they secretly care about each other because they're sworn rivals". purpled would sell tommy to satan for a single cornchip and not even blink. there's also dogchamp, his dog, which is i think the one True attachment he's ever had on the server.

business is very important to him! purpled only really cares to talk to people who he sees on a similar intellectual level as him, and business is the closest way to his heart, as seen with his relationship with ponk.

anyone he doesn't see on his level is "lesser". this is specifically highlighted with his viewpoint on slime, as he sees slime as nothing but a child who can't fend for himself and has to rely on quackity for everything. this viewpoint is, obviously, extremely untrue, because purpled is an unreliable narrator in every sense of the word.

he's very smart and extremely capable. if he sets his mind to something, he Will accomplish it through any means necessary, even at the cost of others.

he is also. just sillie. at least around those he trusts or is pretending to allow to get close to him (like fundy in ln). he pulls stupid pranks for stupid prizes. he's just a boy that really loves his dog. he's the server's strongest warrior yet he runs screaming from boomer because they threatened to child-leash him. do not be afraid to make him a freak (because trust me he Is one)

some deeper stuff! all of these things are unspoken, and things he himself is not aware of. a dive into his subconscious thoughts, if you will. if you're writing something deeper with him, these are things i recommend alluding towards/highlighting, but in a sense that only the audience is aware of. they're not things that should be Explicitly Stated, at least not by him/his pov. purpled has little to no true self-awareness, and when he does have moments of introspection, he Still manages to fuck that up, which i'll be getting into

purpled does not really feel any negative emotions other than rage and spite. or, more accurately, he doesn't let himself feel anything other than rage or spite. when lamenting about his loneliness on the server, he immediately spins it into a revenge plot, believing it'll be solved as soon as he gets his just desserts. he does feel and process positive emotions, it's just negative ones he pushes aside for the sake of anger.

this is because, inherently, purpled does not believe he is in the wrong. ever. everything is always the fault of others, which is why he results to anger, because that's what happens when he pushes blame onto other people. he doesn't ever accept that his actions can be detrimental to himself, and that his issues are always the fault of others. for example, he believes that the reason his legacy on the server was "ruined" was because of quackity's intervention. while quackity's destruction of his ufo certainly didn't help, purpled's core issue was himself. his own self-isolation is what started the downfall of his legacy, and his continued isolation is what sealed its fate.

his inability to process his true emotions/wants makes him very prone to self-sabotage, although he believes the path he chooses is the right one. due to quackity's intervention, he believes that he wants a legacy to have power and to be remembered. when he laid out his issues, however, his biggest hang-up was that "if he asked people on the server to name three things about him, none of them could". deep down, what he wanted was a sense of connection, of building a legacy through the bonds formed with others, but he was unable to realize that.

he's so fucking stupid. all of this is me trying to say he's a fucking idiot. he has the emotional capacity of a pet rock with angry eyebrows drawn onto it. he's hypocritical and not even aware of it. i don't think he has the emotional ability to know what hypocrisy is.

the most important thing, though, is to not woobify him into the "manipulated minors" trope. purpled was not manipulated, and although his age plays into the tragedy of his character on a meta-level, it has no true importance to his actions/story. and although i gush about him a lot, and there are reasons to why he acts the way he does, he is not a good person. i can explain why he does what he does all i want, but at his core he is flawed and antagonistic. that's what makes him so good!! he is not a good person, he knows he's not a good person, and unless he's purposefully playing that role in order to deceive someone, he doesn't pretend to be one, and is up-front with others about that fact.

- he also doesn’t have a great concept of gender, because he doesn’t exactly fit into the idea of the human binary, but the term agender also doesn’t fit him. He only uses he/him because that’s just what everyone refers to him as. He doesn’t really care that much

- as much as I love the alien headcanon, I think he was an watcher, was

- I think at some point he had to strike a deal with hypixel themselves, for a roof over his head and somewhere safe to sleep. And hypixel took away his wings, removed his halo, and sewed up any extra eyes he had and cut off any extra limbs

- he pretends he was never an Angel. He doesn’t know what anyone’s talking about, hypixel saved him. He’s one of their top mercenaries, he was never something as holy as a watcher. But he holds his mask sometimes, and pretends to remember what it’s like

- on days where phantom pains and balance is really bad from his wings, he uses dogchamp to help him move around

- speaking of dog champ, purpleds also trained him to comfort during panic attacks. Dog champ is a big dog, he reaches up above purpleds hip in height. He’s also floofy as fuck, and sheds e v e r y w h e r e

- purpleds fascination with space comes from his days as a watcher, all the stars, the lights, the planets. Everything

- he also sympathizes with aliens, he sees himself as one, isolated from everyone else, different in some way that’s wrong

- he hates the feeling of crushed velvet, he hates that so much in the casino was made from crushed velvet

- a contract is still held over his head by hypixel, he’s still on a leash by them, to be dragged out at any time

I don't think c!Purpled and c!Guqqie are long-lost siblings or whatever. I feel like they would both be able to understand each other. They are both similar but in opposite ways. They are able to understand each other's pain even if it's drastically different from theirs.

Them not being humans (for purpled, alien HC of course), knowing what it's like not to be human. Then feeling of alienation if common for them.

They both know what it's like to be so lonely. Guqqie was abandoned by everyone around her, and Purpled isolated himself from everyone.

Their dog is their only companion, providing them with the only comfort they could get. Guqqie rushing to her dog after having a mightmare. Purpled threating to kill everyone if anything happened to Dogchamp.

Being a wheat farmer and spending days tending their wheat field even if it's unnecessary. Guqqie spending days farming to distract themself from the lonely town. Purpled working on his potato farm even if people constantly stole from it.

Being unable to find a stable home and constantly longing to leave. They both know the feeling of not belonging and the longing to leave their so-called home.

Also, I want to point out that they both died bc they "fell" out of a tower. (Guqqie finally giving up and jumping off. Purpled being pushed off by Charlie.)

But hey, maybe I'm making connections with no real basis but that isn't going to stop me from talk about my favorite characters.

TLDR; They aren't siblings but people who can understand their struggles in their unique way

Purpled sat at the edge of Las Nevadas, staring longingly out toward the world outside. His expression steeled as soon as someone walked up. "... did you get an invitation yet? Or should I call the president up to see if you're allowed in..."
