Fat Kereru

The fat part is obvious really and so inherent to kereru that it can't really be used as a descriptor. They also during some times of the year do great big swoops over the trees to show off to potential mates, and at other times get so drunk on fermenting fruit that they fall under the trees and lie out on the lawn with mates.

Lol. People saying they personally don't like something is one thing, but it's certainly purity culture when people try to censor and control what people read or create in fiction using the premise that it either "harms or corrupts The Children", or otherwise is too uncouth for a "normal, pure person" to read or create. Anti behavior may not be the textbook definition of puriry culture but it damn well is an outcome of it. There's a reason people compare it to Catholic puritanism. It enforces the same basic ideals on people in the hopes they will be pure and keep the people around them pure.

Lance vs memories of human kindness and self-sacrifice

he sees a few in his tenure as Champion, before the RGBY plotlines; unfortunately while the memories of kindness towards pokemon are frequent, the memories of self sacrifice are far less. lance writes them all off as flukes, as shallow moments meant to be a performance, to keep their pokemon feeling loyalty.

it's the pokedex kids where he first really sees self sacrifice and kindness for what it is. where the pokemon themselves are so deeply in love with their trainers, with their best friends that they'd rather die defying him than lose their human partners; red's pikachu remembering red and how they progressed from pika disliking red to so close pika is willing to die for his trainer, puriri's love for blue when she and blue had only each other (and silver; blue's love for silver, their bond as siblings and how blue loves silver's pokemon like they're her own). how green's pokemon respect their trainer and their loyalty to him even at his harshest because he does love them. yellow.

yellow is like him, they can see (have seen) everything he has, and yet they choose this current world and the pokemon with them believe in yellow the same way they believe in their pokemon.

all four of the kids are the first time he sees and feels those memories of a pokemon experiencing kindness and self sacrifice that deep in his soul and i think that's what enables them to win at the end of the day. lance is so thrown off by these unexpected memories and feelings that he is not at the top of his game and for a single second in time he's conflicted on whether he's really right or not.

ofc he resolidifies his stance on the matter immediately after and never regrets anything he's done, but by then he's already lost lmao

interestingly, it's only after the RGBY arc that lance starts looking for other trainers like this; he wants to see if the kids themselves are a once in a lifetime fluke of kindness and self sacrifice, or if it's really as common as they think it is for trainers to just. be like them. he wants to know if their belief in the bonds between themselves and their pokemon exist in other people. (does he find it? who knows. it isn't going to change what he thinks and feels, or what he's done so it's more curiosity than anything. he's been himself for too long to change in any real way.)

#2362 - Prolasius advena - Small Brown Bush Ant

The other 18 species in the genus are all Australian.

Prolasius advena lives in Nothofagus forests on the North and South islands, usually nesting under stones or rotting logs. Colonies are multi-queened with hundreds of workers. Unlike most New Zealand ants, it defends itself by spraying formic acid rather than stinging.

Several beetle associations have been recorded - a staphylinid (Holotrochus sp.), a small endemic stag beetle (Ceratognathus passaliformis), and a pselaphid beetle (Ecomorypora granulata). The worker ants also feed on sap exposed by the puriri moth (Aenetus virescens) as it feeds on the wood of putaputaweta trees (Carpodetus serrata). Also a known host of the parasitic nematode Diploscapter formicidae.
