PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR SONURGE SHIP
Okay!! (So i am gonna bring up my Whispurge headcanon a tiny bit too just because they do go hand in hand for me, sorry lol. Just dont read past the dash if you dont care about it.)
The sonurge dynamic for me is kind of near entirely one sided as far as like actual romantic interest. Like for sonic its a case of wanting to challenge and tease her to keep her mind off things and rile her up in a friendly way. Maybe a little flirty but for him its nothing serious. He enjoys their banter and their rivalry is a fun one.
But for surge i think its a complete case of crossed wires. The internal battle with her programming that puts him in a place of fixation in her mind by default but now is fluctuating rapidly between “i hate him so fucking much” and “i think he’s clearly amazing and i think i like him”. But either way its a struggle with the thought that the only reason he’s on her mind this aggressively might just be because its what she was made to think about.
I don’t think sonic would know about this internal conflict for a hot minute since i think she wouldn’t explain until it peaked the boiling point but the second he figures out how deep this goes he wouldnt keep this going. Hes not an asshole like that so ultimately this is my Toxic Doomed Ship where they have to eventually keep distance anyway by the end.
Even still when its good i think its really good, its just never going to last without Surge having some kind of breakdown.
——————
Comparatively i think my whispurge headcanons also play on this rivalry dynamic between whisper and surge (definitely a more aggressive hands on one than the one with sonic. Fisticuffs followed periodically by adrenaline induced smoochin) but with those two its definitively, unquestionably a choice they’re both making of their own volition to interact like this. Even if it does carry some doubt or confusion on whispers part mostly about whether she really can trust Surge.
I think two commiserating aggro types can find some comfort with that and ultimately help each other be better than what they are by both of them having pretty tragic pasts they can relate to. (I think tangle and whispers dynamic is also extremely important but she could use another angle like that). Something i dont think Sonic is in a position to ever fully do. At least not until surge already gets all her shit sorted.
#i like them both though#angst is my bread and butter#i cant do pure fluff or i feel like im eating a meal made of only cotton candy and no veg#wanna draw em more#might even make an au or gasp! a fankid#sonurge#whispurge#mogs ramblings

Goat’s Cheese, Apple and Nut Beetroot Leaf Salad (Vegetarian)
It truly is a special kind of joy picking home-grown vegetables in the Kitchen Garden. A joy enhanced when one sees them on one’s plate, and taste their crisp, fresh, delicious flavour. I am still digging up Beetroots, and their leaves makes an excellent substitute to lettuce, like in this fragrant Goat’s Cheese, Apple and Nut Beetroot Leaf Salad! Happy Thursday!
Ingredients (serves 1):
the leaves, large and small, of 4 to 6 Garden Beetroot leaves, depending on their size
1/4 cup pecan halves
1/2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
1 heaped teaspoon Dijon Mustard
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon pure (Grade A) Canadian Maple syrup
a pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper
1 apple (like a Ribston Pippin or Golden Delicious)
30 grams/1 ounce soft goat’s cheese
Thoroughly rinse Beetroot leaves under cold water, until all dirt is removed. Dry them in a spin-drier. Set aside.
In a small frying pan over high flame, toast pecan halves and pumpkin seeds until just browned and fragrant. Remove from the heat; set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine Dijon Mustard, olive oil, apple cider vinegar and Maple Syrup. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and whisk energetically until well-blended.
Roughly chop Beetroot leaves. Rinse, halve core and dice apple. Add chopped Beetroot leaves and diced apple to the bowl, and toss well, to generously coat in dressing.
Spoon Beetroot leaf and apple salad into serving plate. Scatter chunks of goat’s cheese liberally on top, and sprinkle generously with toasted pecans and pumpkin seeds.
Enjoy Goat’s Cheese, Apple and Nut Beetroot Leaf Salad immediately, or chill in the refrigerator until serving time (but toasted nuts are better still a little bit warm!)

That's so valid! I think plenty of folks actually do have a strong aversion to pineapple in general, and perhaps specifically the combination of tastes/textures created when it's placed on pizza. Some people additionally are allergic to pineapple and don't realize it's not supposed to be physically uncomfortable to eat.
I think the question is more, why is pineapple the one we always seem to be hearing about? I know multiple people who straight up won't eat a pizza with onions on it, or mushrooms, sometimes green peppers, sometimes olives. These are all seen as incredibly "normal" pizza toppings, but the aversions are still present, and at least anecdotally, more numerous.
I remember being a kid and seeing all the kid media suggesting "Blech! Real kids all hate brocoli," and wondering, how did they land on that specific vegetable? Broccoli looks like little trees and tastes good with cheese. Why not the far inferior lima bean? Why not celery?
Why was there a bacon craze a decade ago? Why not sausage or ham? Why not beef jerky? It's interesting to think about this stuff.
So, why is pineapple the current point of pizza contention? I remember years ago anchovies were the topping one "had to" dismiss. Maybe in the future it will be something else. What shapes these positive or negative food trends?
According to The Economist:
In December 2009 a Facebook page named “Pineapple does NOT belong on PIZZA!” was launched. According to Know Your Meme, a database of internet culture, this page started the online chatter.
If that's the case, I wonder what seemingly arbitrary inciting event precipitated other trends. I remember tons of kids ordering hamburgers without pickles when previously they were pickle neutral, after a Burger King Kids Club commercial had a 90s cool kid ordering a burger "his way," with no pickles. I'm not sure if the Facebook group is a step up or a step down from that....
I refuse to believe anyone actually has a visceral reaction of disgust to pineapple on pizza. As far as “weird foods” go that’s one of the most tame examples and pineapple is probably the least offensive fruit to put in a savory dish. Pineapple antis are on some performative shit like the people who pretend to be really uncomfortable with the word “moist”
#pineapple on pizza#pizza discourse?#what toppings are no-gos for you?#I don't love an all meat pizza#I need some veg or I feel like I'm just drinking pure grease XD#I used to rib my friends for having narrow palates but as I learn more about food aversions and safe foods#I have become almost entirely live and let live#I could do without the 'Uuugh eww what? pineapple on PIZZA?#Hurk blegh blehhh gross nasty' etc#like tell me what you will and won't eat but spare me the editorializing

The Rise of Pure Vegetarian Restaurants: A Guide to Healthier, Ethical Dining
In recent years, pure vegetarian restaurants have witnessed a surge in popularity as more people worldwide embrace plant-based lifestyles for health, ethical, and environmental reasons. These establishments provide a rich dining experience free from animal products, offering vibrant flavors that cater to everyone from devoted vegetarians to curious newcomers. Here, we delve into what makes pure vegetarian dining a unique and valuable choice, explore different types of vegetarian cuisines, and discuss the health benefits and positive impact on sustainability.Explore the top 10 veg restaurants in Chennai for a delightful experience of authentic and innovative vegetarian cuisine. Perfect for food enthusiasts looking to savor the best vegetarian flavors in the city
1. The Pure Vegetarian Concept
At its core, a pure vegetarian restaurant serves meals that are entirely plant-based, meaning no meat, fish, poultry, or seafood is included. These restaurants typically also avoid eggs, though some include dairy (often labeled "lacto-vegetarian") and many emphasize the freshness, quality, and variety of ingredients used to create satisfying, nutrient-rich dishes. For those who prefer vegan options, many pure vegetarian eateries are increasingly offering dishes free from all animal products, including dairy and honey.
2. The Health Benefits of Pure Vegetarian Dining
Pure vegetarian diets are often praised for their wide array of health benefits:
Heart Health: Research indicates that plant-based diets can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease. Vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains found in vegetarian diets are naturally rich in fiber, antioxidants, and essential nutrients that promote cardiovascular health.
Weight Management: Plant-based diets are typically lower in calories than meat-based diets, which can support healthy weight management and reduce the risk of obesity.
Diabetes Prevention and Management: Vegetarian diets that are high in whole foods, especially those rich in fiber and low in refined sugars, have been linked to a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.
Cancer Prevention: A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is linked to a reduced risk of various cancers, particularly those of the digestive system.
As more people turn to plant-based diets for health reasons, pure vegetarian restaurants have become havens for diners seeking nutrient-dense, well-balanced meals without compromising taste or satisfaction.
3. Ethical and Environmental Impacts
One of the primary drivers behind the popularity of pure vegetarian dining is the ethical and environmental impact. By choosing a vegetarian lifestyle, individuals can contribute to animal welfare by reducing demand for meat production, which is often associated with practices that may harm animals.
Environmental Sustainability: Livestock farming is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water pollution. Pure vegetarian diets significantly reduce the carbon footprint and have a lower environmental impact.
Animal Welfare: Many vegetarians adopt their diet as a way to take a stand against factory farming and inhumane animal treatment.
Resource Efficiency: Raising plants requires fewer resources, such as water and land, compared to animal farming, making plant-based dining a more sustainable option in a world with finite resources.
4. The Diversity of Vegetarian Cuisines
Pure vegetarian restaurants today offer a variety of culinary options, from local favorites to international delicacies. This broad range ensures that diners are never limited in choices. Here are some of the popular types of vegetarian cuisines you might encounter:
Indian: Indian cuisine is rich in vegetarian options, with dishes like paneer tikka, chole bhature, masoor dal, and dosa, which showcase the country's diversity in spices and flavors.
Mediterranean: Mediterranean diets are predominantly plant-based, featuring dishes like falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh. Fresh vegetables, olives, and grains make Mediterranean cuisine both flavorful and healthy.
East Asian: Many East Asian cultures incorporate a significant amount of vegetables, tofu, and soy-based ingredients into their meals. Stir-fried vegetables, vegan sushi, and tofu-based dishes are staples in this category.
Mexican: Mexican cuisine offers vegetarian delights such as tacos, burritos, and enchiladas filled with beans, veggies, and guacamole.
5. The Dining Experience: Atmosphere and Community
Pure vegetarian restaurants often prioritize creating warm, welcoming atmospheres that promote mindful eating and a sense of community among patrons. Many of these establishments also focus on sustainability by using locally sourced ingredients, eco-friendly packaging, and minimal-waste cooking practices. In addition, some restaurants offer educational resources on vegetarianism, such as cooking classes or workshops on sustainable living, enabling diners to expand their knowledge and adopt more plant-based habits.
6. Finding Pure Vegetarian Restaurants Near You
The growing demand for plant-based dining options has led to a boom in pure vegetarian restaurants worldwide. Whether you're in a bustling city or a small town, you can likely find options nearby by checking online reviews, exploring food apps, or using dedicated vegetarian restaurant directories.
