Ok I actually have to write up this crazy fucking dream I just had, completely unprompted
So I had some legit fucking weird ass fever dream about going to a uni for coding and working on ancient computer stuff in a country where there's these propaganda/school material loot drops that are done and managed by the minister of propaganda, who in this case was slavoj zizek. They would drop out of the sky kinda like the drop pod things in lethal company and when they opened they'd just drop random textbooks and vague eastern-european looking propaganda on the ground, and you had to dress up as and pretend to be a Nazi to go over to them and pick stuff up, and he literally shows up in person and thanks you for doing it sometimes and makes sure your Nazi impersonation is up to spec before you open the pod thing.
So I did that and apparently did so well that my entire class got a promotion or something, and I decided to get drunk for the first time in my life, so I ordered two shots of jack and coke because that's like the only thing I know how to order and they just poured me a tall glass of it instead with like a lime on the top, and I ordered fries with it but apparently it wasn't lunch yet so they just made this weird fucking sandwich that was like an amalgamation of like 23 different things instead, and then gave me the glass they already finished pouring after making the sub/sandwich for like a full half hour in front of me.
Also for some reason slavoj zizek was also a visual artist or something and personally wrote and designed one of the textbooks for our classes and literally the entire uni regarded that specific textbook as the "coding bible" and talked about it like it was literally the best coding textbook ever written. It had like three weird esoteric lines of text on every page that vaguely referenced coding and then just a bunch of random designwork that I think kinda looked a bit like the designs on the old US C ration boxes but literally everyone regarded that specific textbook as the best coding textbook in the world. It was some shit like "he who codes, can code" or "arrays let you put stuff in arrays, amen" and then just a bunch of random fucking designs all over the page that had literally zero relation to coding whatsoever, and literally every single page was like that, and there was like a massive essay at the end with like pictures and stuff taking about slavoj zizek and the contributions he's made to the textbook and the nation, and I think my brain confused him with zladislaw beksinski at some point because apparently he also just went by that name for some reason.
I wasn't even thinking about zizek before I went to bed so I assume he must have broke into my house and walked up next to my bed and infiltrated my brain that way somehow.

White King Quartz can purify and help in the transmutation process of negative energies! The white color is a result of liquids and gases trapped during the crystal’s formation. It can strengthen and amplify any gemstones near it.

John Green's video about Johnson & Johnson is cool and necessary but the chronic liberalism of it it's kinda of off-putting.
Don't think appealing to good emotions might make changes but protests maybe will.

i killed. i murdered. i'm nothing like these sleepy people here… nevertheless, you can actually be grateful? bastard… i’m saying… thank you. because you spilled blood, you saved all of these people’s lives. i couldn’t have done it without you. (ID in alt)
#vashwood#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#trigun#trigun maximum#participated in altades' dance collab :3 very grateful for the opportunity and many thanks to them for organizing this!#there was a lot of vw arc choices... but i went for the leonof arc bc it's a dear vw moment to me#i think a lot of the leonof arc further breaks down vash's ideology and for the readers - together with ww- to learn that his ideals aren't#pure naivety and that vash knows he's at an odd standpoint with himself. he's criticized ww for shooting rai-dei just prior when ww had don#so on the behalf of vash but here he thanks him for killing on behalf of his home and its genuine. bc vash's presence - although it's not#his fault - he was the reason leonof and gray had gotten to the ship and killed people there. that's the guilt he has to live with and#despite his anger he'd still resolute not to kill. meanwhile ww just did what he had to - beating down on a seemingly immortal monster but#at the core made up of many lives he had to take and i feel as the fight dragged on - his own mentality waned. committing active carnage#while remembering the orphanage... and bearing that guilt alongside the words vash left with him during rai-dei's death#only for vash to thank him afterwards what he's done and for apologizing for pushing his beliefs on ww when he had no solutions of his own#anyway. i just have so an immense love for this arc bc they just got around to appreciating each other in weird ways. though ofc its still#weird and confusing for ww bc every new info on vash it'll just be strange to him as someone who's human#ruporas art

George Lucas once mainlined a bunch of Kurosawa films and had a genius idea. "I know," he said, "I'll put samurai into space." And in doing so he created one of the greatest sci-fi concepts to ever exist, ill-knowing that its ultimate culmination into a gloriously fantastical monastic errant-knight religion would soon be consumed by people who would say, "Actually, George, I don't like these guys. They're simply too unique. I want to focus on generic sci-fi shit that exists in a million other properties instead because it's more palatable to my basic tastes." And so we now have to watch Star Wars properties that hate what makes Star Wars stand out amidst its peers, our walls battered by the tantrums of people who seethe (SEETHE!) at the idea of things like 'rules' and 'discipline' and 'respecting the people around you.' They'll tell you laser guns that may be fired indiscriminately and impersonally are cooler than laser swords which require martial discipline; that anyone with power would naturally turn away from restrictions and want to play by their own rules or outright seek domination and cruelty; that unrestrained passion is a virtue regardless of the harm it causes -- and never realize that in saying this, they are telling on themselves, and it is no wonder any idealism or liberalism they profess feels empty.
Also, they sometimes defend genocide, and, you know, that's beyond telling.

i know this show is so important for many people but when i see it described with words like "clean" and "safe" as its held up as one of the best examples of queer television the primary emotions i feel are disgust and also just. terror
like im so glad the teens watching this have shows like Sex Education and tbh even crap like Euphoria but fucking hell, its so wonder i talk to some younger ppl and their views on sex and queer desire are so fucked up when they have like. this, and cartoons, bc theyre the most ~unproblematic~ things

I like parts of the Maester conspiracy theory but what I don’t like abt it is it’s used to blame everything that’s ever gone wrong for the targs on someone else & absolve them of any responsibility for negative actions. I can believe they hate magic, because all the types of magic we’ve seen in asoiaf is destructive and/or requires sacrifice of an unwilling innocent, and they want order and peace for the realm (how is that a bad thing??). I can even believe they may have poisoned the remaining eggs during aegon III’s time to prevent another dance from ripping apart the realm. I don’t think they are anti woman troglodytes who do things just to cause mass suffering, that’s not in line with what we’ve seen of any maesters besides maybe pycelle (besides, making targ women suffer is the hobby of targ men). I don’t think they somehow killed aemma arryn/baelon to install Alicent hightower. I’m willing to be generous and see how that’s a plausible theory to someone being told the broad strokes & not all the facts bc hightower = oldtown = citadel and all that. But we know the maesters were the ones telling viserys to leave her alone for a few more years, we know that her trying for kids too young is what made her weaker, which then eventually killed her. If the goal is to see her dead, why the hell were they trying to preserve her health? Wouldn’t they have encouraged viserys to start impregnating aemma the moment her cycle began? The situation is very clearly written to show viserys’ desperation to not be like jaehaerys & to have a son and heir, which culminates in him losing his wife and their most recent baby all at once. I don’t think the maesters caused summerhall. Even though I unironically love egg & will be saddened if I’m proven right & he’s the one who did the deed (again, willing to be gracious & say the experiment got out of control, but it’s more likely to me that he was intentionally sacrificing family members to hatch the eggs), it makes no sense for maesters to have done it just bc pycelle & tywin were alive and shady at the time. I think egg doing it makes sense with what we’ve seen of targaryen self destructive obsession & how desperate egg was to have dragons bc of war/trouble with the lords. Also some other things mentioned in dunk & egg that I’m not arsed to fully flesh out in my ramblings lol. Idk my point is some things abt the theory are plausible and some things sound like qanon supporters talking about The Deep StateTM to avoid talking about the failings/losses of their favorite politicians.
