Poll: Horror Movie Rentals III: The Weird One
Tumblr media
It's the weekend again and sure enough you're back in a video rental store. That strange aura from before still lingers. In fact, it feels much stronger now.
For one, the layout of the store is different. And, while you weren't really paying attention, that group of teens out front might have had super powers.
Plus, the clerk keeps throwing random shit at your head in a very exaggerated fashion.
It's all very weird. And you should probably leave.
But first...
Nine VHS tapes sit before you, ready for renting. Maybe you feel like revisiting a beloved favorite. Maybe you want to check out something you've never seen before...
You take note that all of these are the third in their respective series.
Part 1, Part 2: Return of the VHS

After hearing that mystical toymaker Andre Toulon has managed to create a troupe of sentient, living puppets, Nazi underling Dr. Hess sets his sights on exploiting Toulon's powers for the glory of the Reich. But when Toulon's wife Elsa is killed and Toulon is whisked away by the Nazis, his puppets attack and rescue their maker. Now hellbent on revenge, the puppet master creates a new line of stringless assassins, including the laughing Six Shooter and parasite-spewing Leech Woman, a creature made in his late wife's image. Can one man and his murderous marionettes take down the wrath of the Gestapo?

(If you get this, answer with 3 random facts about yourself and send it to the last 7 blogs in your notifications, anonymously or not! Let’s get to know the person behind the blog! 🍀)
Thank you so much!!
🍀 - I’m from the Pacific Northwest, Oregon to be specific, but despite this, I don’t have webbed feet i.e. I hate being out in the rain. I love the rain, don’t get me wrong, I love watching and listening to rainfall (especially if thunder and lightning are a part of the equation), but I hate standing out or walking in it. I prefer Portland in the summertime, when it’s warm and sunny, and I can walk around in a t-shirt and shorts as I pop into my favorite shops. I’m defidently a summer girl, and I love the heat (though I have to put on plenty of sunscreen before I hit the streets), and don’t I certainly mind wandering around a cramped little retro toy shop with no AC for a good while!
🍀 - I was never a big Disney kid growing up, admittedly, I didn’t grow up with much of their original animated canon, instead watching much of their live-action fair (such as That Darn Cat! and Mary Poppins), non-princess pictures like Lilo & Stitch, and movies they made with other companies like Pixar and Touchstone. If one were to twist my arm, I’d probably say my favorite princess movie is Beauty and the Beast (no big surprise there), my favorite non-princess movie is either Robin Hood or Peter Pan (Prince John and Captain Hook are easily my favorite villains!), and my favorite cross-company picture would either be Monsters Inc (made with Pixar), Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (made with Touchstone), or Dragonslayer (made with Paramount).
🍀 - As proven by this blog, I am a classic horror fanatic, much of which you can see on my main blog, hobbitmajora! I love both silent and sound horror from the 20′s all the way into 40′s, predominantly Universal’s monster lineup and Hammer’s technicolor takes on the originals. I do admittedly have a little bit of a soft spot for some more contemporary/cult favorites, such as the Phantasm series, the Puppet Master franchise, and the Poltergeist trilogy, but at the end of the day, the classics own my heart-it’s what I grew up with, after all! Feel free to drop me a line anytime, I’m always happy to talk horror!
And, on the offhand chance that you’re curious, my top favorites from these studios/franchises include:Universal Monsters: The Creature From The Black Lagoon Hammer Horror: Brides of Dracula Phantasm: Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead Puppet Master: Puppet Master III: Toulon’s Revenge Poltergeist: Poltergeist II: The Other Side
