Glenn Rambo
Glenn Marshall Rambo was born on December 4th, 1970 in Alice, Jim Wells County, Texas. His father was Gary W Rambo, and mother, Rebecca Anne Roark. Though he had siblings on his mother’s side, I’m unsure if there are any on his father’s side.
There wasn’t a whole lot that I could find about Glenn’s life, other than some old forum posts that talked of him posthumously. On my death space, there was a post from the user “Puke”, who copied and pasted a letter/description about Glenn Rambo, and the life that he lived.
Glenn was raised by his mother and grandmother in Violet, Louisiana, St. Bernard Parish, the New Orleans area. He was “blessed/cursed’ with a unique appearance “which some found strange or evil”, and would lead him to be harassed on a daily basis, by closed-minded law enforcement and those who called him and his family “witches”. Others in St. Bernard would always see Glenn walking everywhere, with a big boombox on his shoulder, taking his time and listening to his music. He soon acquired the affectionate nickname “Lilac Ozzy”, finding a safe haven connecting with “freaks” like himself in the growing underground Hardcore/punk/metal scene in New Orleans.
Eventually starting a band called Nuclear Crucifixion in the mid 80’s with friends Donovan Punch, Brian Patton, Dave Moran, and Darren Shallenberg. This band would eventually morph into the early iterations of Soilent Green. Their shows would be memorable not only for their “ahead-of-their-time” fusion style, but also Glenn’s outrageous stage persona. He was a true performance artist, as recalled, and would eventually end up singing with bands like “Nun Molesters”, “GM Pussy Bitch”, and “Swarm”. Glenn is remembered as the guy that, “knew every lyric, every riff, and who had such an extensive knowledge (of) music in general, that you could talk for hours and hours with him, and he’d just keep recommending new bands, or pulling out obscure and arcane types of music you may not have heard of”.
Despite people thinking that he was sinister, he was actually “one of the most genuine, loving, intelligent people you’d ever meet.”. He’s remembered for his dark and piercing appearance, while also having an absolutely hypnotic speaking voice. Low, modulated, and subtle; a true Southern gentleman. Glenn loved reading, obtaining information, and devoured books. He was always thirsty for knowledge, and a deeper understanding of spirituality. “No garden variety Satanist”, Glenn was more interested in human nature and all its darkness. Wise beyond his years, he was also very sensitive. You could talk to him seriously about any number of topics. He also had a keen sense of humor, and a sense of absurdity. Glenn was a lover of animals, who he adopted a whole flock, and called them his babies. He’d walk around the French Quarter with his beloved ferrets stuffed in his pockets, sneaking up his jacket, curled around his neck.
Glenn had epilepsy, which caused him to be on meds his whole life; the condition gave him seizures, but he considered it a blessing in disguise, because it “gave him visions that other people couldn’t see.”. His mother had epilepsy too.
He would take something potentially tragic, and turn it into something unique and magical. When he’d see you, he’d come over to give you a hug and a kiss. Glenn is recalled as a healing presence, a truly enchanting soul.
Glenn stayed in Voilet, Louisiana because he and his mother didn’t have a car, his leg was broken, and he didn’t have anywhere to evacuate to. He thought that they could just bear down, and ride out the storm. They may not have wanted to leave the comfort of their home, when they didn’t have anywhere to go to. But, “when the levees broke, they didn’t stand a chance.”.
One of his favorite quotes was, “Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the house of God.” Liber al vel Legis 1:57, Aleister Crowley.
♦♦♦ [Music History] ♦♦♦
On the metal archives, Glenn’s musical history is still rather vague. It lists that he sang for the bands mentioned before, though the only ones with dates or links seems to be Soilent Green and Nuclear Crucifixion, as of June 2023. I’m not sure what the exact time frame was for the other bands.
Nuclear Crucifixion is listed as having been from New Orleans, Louisiana; one source states Metairie in particular. They formed in 1987, and lasted through 1988, though the archive also states 1989. I don’t know the info about that specifically. This iteration of the band had 2 demos, the first being “Killing Ourselves To Live”, in 1987, and the second, “Torture of Humanity”, in 1988. The former starts with a song titled, “Nuclear Vomit”, which was later reworked into some Soilent Green songs, like “Numb Around The Heart”. Both demo releases were on cassette, no label. The band was also listed as being spelled “Crucifixtion”, with a T, and at some point it was called “Seveth”.
The band’s music was very underground, with this general old school Death Metal feel, which is right on par with the nearby Florida Death Metal scene that exploded around that time period. Though it may be obvious to those my age and older, for the younger audience, it seems that the band’s name was inspired by the idea of nuclear fallout. During this time period in the US, with the cold war, many pieces of media reflect this fear; the first to come to mind for me, is ‘Retaliation’ by Carnivore.
The first NC demo was spelled “Nuclear Crucifixtion”. The band photo that is found on the metal archives was taken by Al Hodge of Tungsten, in what was Donovan Punch’s grandmother’s garage. The garage was where they practiced, the area previously having been used as a dance studio by his grandma. Soilent Green also practiced there when they formed, and in the early 90’s Jason Pizzolato’s band Apostasy would play shows with Soilent Green.
Sammy Duet, second to the left, wearing a ‘Nun Molesters’ shirt.
While “Nun Molesters” isn’t listed as its own page on the metal archives or discogs, a few videos from Jason Pizzalato dates the band at having played from 1989-1991. I assume that this was virtually a name change for the band Nuclear Crucifixion, since it had similar members. The band had a man named Joey Hall who was on vocals for the demos and shows, but it should be noted that the band would switch instruments, and invite friends and audience members to join them on stage. Glenn is actually listed as having played drums here.
Glenn would include their Nun Molester recordings at the end of some demo tapes for Soilent Green that he dubbed and sold. As Pizzolato said, “Classic Nun Molester songs include, ‘We Like Smoking Weed’ and ‘Big Pussy’.”. Joey Hall is listed as having later become a cop.
Nun Molesters seemed like a hilarious band to see live, as the demos were quite silly. Though musically great, the eloquence of “I like to eat vagina” cannot be understated. Or maybe that was Nuclear Crucifixion? :p
A video from the amazing ‘Acid Bath Archive’ actually shows a small snippet in time of Nuclear Crucifixion’s life, where Glenn Rambo and Brian Patton were interviewed. The interview was from Pagan Fest, July 22nd, 1988, which took place in Dallas, Texas.
A cassette of the first NC demo is shown, with some footage of the band playing. Glenn stated that they decided to play at Pagan Fest because they really like Dallas, and how the people would listen to music and “accept it for what it is, instead of denying it for it ain’t.”. When asked if he’d still help underground bands if they got famous, Glenn said that he absolutely would.
In 1988, Soilent Green was formed. Also having Rambo, of course, the band’s first iteration seemed to consist of him, Brian Patton, Donovan Punch, Marcel Trenchard, and Tommy Buckley. Some of the earliest demos, as posted by Jason Pizzolato, state that Soilent formed after the ashes of Nuclear Crucifixion. Once again, the time frame is a little confusing, and I don’t know if Nun Molesters was its own separate entity from Soilent. The metal archives states that Soilent was formed after Rambo, Punch, and Patton left Nuclear Crucifixion, though I am unsure what their reasons are, for why they left that band.
The early iteration of Soilent Green is vastly different from the records we know today. A 1989 demo provides a thrashy feel, and the ones from 1990 have that underground early Death Metal feel. The tracks posted by Pizzolato remind me a lot of Macabre’s album “Dahmer”, which actually came out 10 years after those! Early Soilent had this fantastic Death Metal feel which could have really turned them into a major forerunner of the genre, at least, in my eyes. Or ears. It feels like the sound that they achieved in 1990 seemed to be somewhere that Glenn wanted to achieve, as his vocals settled in the Death range, and to me, were great! I’m reminded a lot of bands like ‘Ripping Corpse’, ‘Death’, and ‘Baphomet’. It almost makes me sad that this iteration of the band didn’t continue on.
In 1989, the band released their first demo, which was on cassette. According to videos of the demo by Pizzolato, the demo was recorded at Protech Productions, in Marrero, Louisiana.
In 1991, a demo was released called ‘Satanic Drug Fog’ which was recorded in 1990 in Baytown, Texas. This was recorded the same time as their other demo, ‘Squiggly’. Squiggly is also known as ‘Squiggly Demons’ and ‘Soilent Green’. Both were on cassette. Ten songs were recorded total, with 2 being left off the tapes. I am unsure why, let alone whatever happened to those songs.
In 1991, a 7” vinyl was released that had 4 songs, one being from Soilent Green. The song was “Circle of Death”, which was on side B. The other songs included were, “Waiting in Silence” by Slugs (also on Side B), “World View” by S.I.K., and “Brainwashed Society” by the Detrimentz. Interesting to note, Slugs was the band that Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange were in, before it turned into Crowbar.
In 1992, Soilent Green released a demo, though there is no official art or title for the project. An interesting note about this demo though, is that Donovan Punch had broken his arm the night before, at an Exhorder concert, and couldn’t play guitar. As such, he is only backing vocals. Pizzolato was friends with the guys, and he and his brother listened to a cassette that Punch brought of the recordings, so that they could record the guitar parts from him. This demo was to be released in 7” format by Relapse Records, but it never happened. Years later, the band ended up putting out a handful of releases on the label. This demo would be the last to feature Glenn Rambo, and as far as I know, might have been the last piece of music that he’d ever record.
I’m not sure why, or how, Glenn Rambo ended up leaving Soilent Green, but in 1993, he was replaced with Ben Falgoust. In an interview with Richard Metal Fan, in may of 2023, Ben stated that he’d help Soilent when they’d play shows in the Texas area. He said that there was some kind of situation with their singer at the time, and they parted ways; which later, Ben was offered to join the band.
But I’m not sure what that reason was, let alone what happened to Glenn after that. Between the years of 1992-2005, I have no idea what might have happened in his life, though it doesn’t seem like he created anything musically.
On August 29th, 2005, Glenn passed away, having been found dead in his mother’s home. His ex-girlfriend Stacy, and some National Guardsmen went to his mother’s house, because they hadn’t heard from them since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. The bodies of Glenn and his mother were still in the house. A friend named Melissa posted on the (now defunct, not archived site) nola underground:
“Glenn had a broken leg, and he and his Mom had no car to evacuate. If you know them, you probably know that his family didn’t have much money. I’m not sure where they are going to bury them, or if there are any next-of-kin that could help. Maybe we can all take up a collection to make sure that they are buried properly and have grave markers. I don’t even know how to go about doing something like that. It just makes me sad to think that after we have all lost so much, we are now finding out that we have lost good friends as well. Glenn was an important part of the NOLA scene, and a good friend to many of us. He will be dearly missed, and fondly remembered. -With Love and Sadness, Melissa October 2nd, 2005”
Glenn M. Rambo was buried at Saint Bernard Memorial Gardens, in Chalmette, Louisiana. He was 34.
His mother, Rebecca Anne Roark, was buried in the same location, she was 61 (June 8th, 1944-August 29, 2005). They were survived by family, as listed in their obituaries, which was published by the Time-Picayune, on January 3rd, 2006. Their funerals were on January 4th, 2006.
Glenn’s death was a shock to many, as there are still accounts online which have blogged, or commented about their sadness. One in particular is Paranoize, who was friends with Glenn, and played shows with him in the past.
While Glenn may not have spent that much time on Earth, I believe that it is still important to acknowledge his influence on the music scene. Going through the history of Soilent Green, and the music before that point, it’s clear that his musical endeavors helped form the eventual NOLA sludge scene, which grew to prominence in the ‘90’s. My heart goes out to his friends and family. I can only pay my respects, and say thank you, for everything he made.
Thank you Glenn, may you rest in peace.

Random bullet point list of office AU things:
Due to the 1999 timestamp, Pokémania is at its peak. Pedro 100% plays Pokémon and their favorite 'mon is Jolteon. Vosim keeps a Gameboy in his desk and plays Pokemon and Tetris in his downtime. His favorite 'mon is Alakazam.
Several characters have pets. Dee has Snowball of course. Bert also has his two rats, Cheezit and T-Rex. Vosim has a huge tank with 4 or 5 goldfish. Pedro has a pet frog and them and Voder both own a St. Bernard named Sparko. Sam (who is blind! never mentioned) has a service dog (undecided, maybe a retriever) named Zoltar. Dandy has a cockatiel named Daisy. There's a stray cat that keeps showing up on the stairwell outside Otto's apartment window because he fed them once. His cat now. Cider is allergic to cats and dogs.
Cider is the weirdo that gets up at 5 AM for a run before work everyday, eats really healthy (is basically pescatarian), keeps a very thorough day planner and owns a PDA. Nobody can take him seriously.
He's also still a furry. His fursona is a mouse named Melvin. He has been to Confurence.
Terminal is the mail carrier that is so happy to have the office on his route. Everyone is friends with him in some regard and he's a huge fruit. Should this be modern day, he would be an Instagram girlie.
Rotten works at a music store down the street from the town campus. Bert swings by pretty much every day after class. They met after Bert stopped in one day trying to buy some normie pop punk music and Rotten basically grabbed the tapes out of his hands and threw them in the trash before dragging him to the real punk section. He also slipped him a tape of his own demo album he'd been working on. Bert was instantly smitten.

Happy Birthday Robert Bernard Andrew “Bobby” Gillespie who was born June 22nd 1962 in Glasgow.
Most people would be happy being famous for being in one iconic band, but like our last Birthday Boy Jimmy Somerville, Bobby has been in two great Scottish groups, he was drummer for The Jesus and Mary Chain in the mid-1980s before going on to be a founding member of the alternative rock band, Primal Scream.
Born and raised in the south side district of Mount Florida in Glasgow, he attended Kings Park Secondary School. His father is Bob Gillespie was a union rep and aspiring politician. Before joining The Jesus and Mary Chain Bobby roadied for Clare Grogan’s Altered Images, later joining ex “Images” man Gerard “Caesar” McInulty in the indie pop band The Wake who had a wee bit success, notably playing support on tour with New Order
By 1982 he had already formed Primal Scream and splitting his time between the two groups before leaving The Jesus and Mary Chain to devote his time to the former in 1986. Although well known in the 80’s around the Scottish Indie scene it wasn’t until Screamadelica was released in 1991 that the band had their breakthrough, since then they have went on to be one of the most successful Scottish groups.
In October 2021, Gillespie published his memoir Tenement Kid a memoir relating his childhood in 1960s Springburn Glasgow, the discovering of punk, then his realization as an artist, until the release of Screamadelica.
Gillespie married stylist Katy England at St. Margaret's Church, Betley on 29 July 2006. They have two children together, Wolf and Lux (born in 2004.
In April this year Bobby joined Eric Cantona on stage to sing song ex-footballer penned for Palestine. Writing on the official Primal Scream Instagram, Gillespie wrote: “Last night I was honoured to sing with my friend @ericcantona on a song he has written about Palestine titled ‘Give Us a Ticket’.
The song, Loaded is my favourite by Primal Scream.

Birds of Downtown Kelowna
top-left: American Widgeon
top-right: Mallard
bot-left: Red-breaster Merganser (?)
bot-right: American Coot
These are the main birds that occupy the shores of Lake Okanagan (kɬúsx̌nítkʷ) in downtown Kelowna. They are fairly territorial, and seem to have their favourite spots. Mallard land is just in front of the lake monster statue, at the intersection of Bernard Ave and Abbott St. The occasional widgeon joins the group, they seem to get along just fine. Directly north and south of there, the coots are abundant. They travel along, bobbing their heads up and down as they do, such inchworms in water. The mergansers tend to stick to the boardwalk near Tugboat Beach.
Disclaimer: If you can't tell by my simplistic vocabulary, I am not a bird expert. Until yesterday, I referred to the mergansers as the 'punk ducks' and the coots as 'little round guys'. However, with the knowledge I now hold, I do now feel a slight intellectual superiority. Yesterday, a group of three folks were taking a stroll along the snowy boardwalk. "There are so! many ducks", one of them noticed. As my riding partner and I passed them on our bicycles, we proudly and loudly exclaimed: "Coots are not ducks!" and rolled off into the distance.

This week I interviewed great Adelaide Punk band ‘The wired Serenity’. After a delay while the band got a new singer, we finally got time to do this Interview. Here it is
Can you tell us a little history about The Wired Serenity? Members etc?
The Wired Serenity (TWS) formed when a group of passionate music students, from the special interest music program at Playford International College, got together to create original music. They had their first gig at Broadcast Bar on 23rd Dec 2021 playing a mix of covers and originals, unbelievably back then one original was still having the lyrics generated the day before that event. The band has learnt a lot since those early days and recent restructuring with a new singer joining the band has cemented the decision to produce and perform high quality music.
The band now consists of Dylan on the drums, Toby on lead guitar, Bernard on Bass and Winifred (Fred) on vocals. There is also a rhythm guitarist that has been dabbling with TWS at rehearsals and there might be an announcement about that soon. TWS are so excited about the direction the band is taking.
They will have their debut their new singer Fred on 15 April 2023. TWS will be back where it all began, at The Broadcast Bar, 66A Grote St Adelaide this time with Brat 86 and Hoffmann and the Cosmonauts on the line up for the night.
Which musicians/bands are your biggest inspirations?
There is no doubt Dylan is a fan of Dani Washington, the drummer from Neck Deep. He says the style is complex but in a way that it doesn’t overfill the song and is still easy to listen to.
Toby’s biggest inspiration is Marty Friedman, guitarist from Megadeath. Marty creates very melodic, but still fast, guitar solos and harmonies by incorporating classical music theory. Toby originally developed his writing style on this however has branched off to his own style that he has found comfortable.
Bernard is inspired by Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne, He fuses a lot of genre specific techniques into his playing but it works. Bernard likes his style because it is non-traditional and unique.
Fred is heavily inspired by the 80’s and 90’s, especially bands like Tears for Fears and Radiohead, with biggest inspiration from Jeff Buckley, Fred was absolutely obsessed with him back in high school.
What is your impression of the Adelaide Music Scene?
Adelaide really does have an immense amount of talent, so many other local bands clearly doing what they love, and their passion is so intense. The bands are incredibly supportive of each other as well, there is a real community feel in the industry. The venues TWS have played at have all been very friendly and supportive with good crowd interaction.
What is your writing structure? Is it a jam together, or does someone bring a song in already written and you put it all together?
TWS each bring something in at different times and then expand on that as a group. Sometimes one of the band members will have an idea and we’ll workshop on it together; this can be as simple as allocating time to create and just mucking around until something sticks. Toby has focused on writing some of the music, Fred and Dylan usually come up with lyrics or melodies, Bernard is the in-house editor and deals with quality control, but TWS all work on different things at different times.
Your song Faker is one I have heard a lot recently. Can you tell me what it is about and how it came about?
Faker was written by our past member Jaydn. Sadly, the future of this song is currently in limbo with some ongoing issues from the recent restructure, but TWS are excited about the new direction the band and its music are taking. The new singer Fred has released work as a solo artist in the past and TWS are super excited with the dynamics in the band now. The new sound is more refined, and TWS are confident with the new direction the band has taken. They already have a new song called “Without Me” that they are really thrilled about sharing with everyone.
Do you have a favourite venue to play?
TWS have enjoyed all the venues they have played at, but Broadcast Bar has to be one of their favourites. It’s not a big venue but it’s quirky and fun and Bryan is very encouraging of emerging bands. He was the first venue to give TWS a shot at playing on stage and has continued to be super supportive of the music. This is the reason TWS wanted to debut the new lineup back where it all began, the Broadcast Bar. If you haven’t been there go check it out, some amazing new talent comes through that venue.
When can we expect to hear new music from you?
TWS have a couple of existing songs that are undergoing some changes that are in the production pipeline already and they have a completely new song called “Without me” on its way as well. This is the first song created with the new band line up and will debut on 15 April 2023 at The Broadcast Bar, we are so excited to see how the song is received by the crowd.
What is your career highlight so far?
Dylan’s pick for a career highlight is The Halloween Show that was held at Lowlife Bar. The crowd really embraced the theme and some of the costumes were insane. It was a good turn out and the crowd was so engaged with the music. There was a smoke machine, fake cobwebs hanging from the ceilings and so many people in costumes, it created such a good atmosphere.
Playing as the support act for Teenage Joans at the PUSH Music Career Expo was a great experience and was the highlight for Bernard. This event was held at Northern Sound System, Elizabeth, such a great facility providing an opportunity for bands in the north to be able to access a high-quality venue.
Toby said being invited to play at Slingshot Festival was his highlight. With back-to-back gigs on the weekends during the festival, TWS played at Arthur Art Bar for the first time. It was awesome to see people walking past on the street, stop and then decide to come in during our set.
Fred still credits performing with Dylan and Toby at events for school. Some might say it sounds lame but that was the first real step into serious performing, and honestly had a really big impact on Fred. Despite where TWS play in the future those early performances will always resonate with the band.
What is your ideal festival line up?
Having a punk genre background logically TWS would go for a punk genre festival. Local Bands they really enjoy performing with are Newgate Crowd and Violet Harlot, but they would also be keen to perform with Tunnel Vision and Lola.
If TWS could invite Interstate bands, then Spici Water would be on the list and the wish list bands for the festival would be Dragged Under, Radiohead and My Chemical Romance.
If you could invite 3 musicians (dead or alive) who would you choose?
When choosing possible musicians(dead or alive) for a festival, the ex-drummer of Slip Knot Joey Jordison or Taylor Hawkins drummer of Foo Fighters would both be high on the list, as well as Chester Bennington, the singer from Linkin Park. These musicians have all left a massive impact on the music industry.
If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 1 album, what would you pick?
There probably wouldn’t be a lot of vibes on a deserted island so these albums are the bands pick to bring some good vibes to such an isolated venue:
• Dylan – The Peace and the Panic, Neck Deep
• Toby – V by Havok
• Bernard – Government Plates by Death Grips
• Fred – Danger Days by My Chemical Romance
What are you long and short term goals?
The short-term goal for TWS is to get out there more, finish recording and release their first EP. All proceeds from performing go towards recoding their music.
Long term TWS would love to be successful enough to make a career from the music, travel, go on tour and be the band that others want to open for.
Finally, where can people find out more about you? Socials etc?
The Wired Serenity (TWS)
Left to Right:
Bernard Chrominski (Bass)
Winifred Lewis (Vocals)
Dylan Ballone (Drums)
Toby Trenwith (Guitar)

Bluey Doodles. Bluedles if you will.
the St. Bernard in the upper corner is my self insert lol.
OC stuff below the cut!
I think it’d be funny if Bandit was like Hugo’s mentor or something when he was in uni.
I think it’d be funny if Bandit was like Hugo’s mentor or something when he was in uni.
I imagine that Hugo’s got a Not Great relationship with his parents, so for the period of Bandit’s mentorship he’s a father figure to him. I think they’d stay friends once the mentorship ends, even tough Hugo’s like ten years Bandit’s junior.
Its a good setup for explaining Queerness and discrimination to the kids(both of whom i HC as queer anyways, so a queer role model is a good thing for them.) and how Found Family is just as good as Blood Family.
Blues is WHIPPED for Hugo, but Bandit still goes Dad Mode on him at first, bc i think its sweet.
Bluey thinks it is Very Cool that she and Blues have such similar names.
Hugo is about the same height as Chilli, and Blues is Very Tall. The girls love when he gives them shoulder rides for that very reason.
anyways Gay Dogs.

Three questions for you!
1. It's time for the annual team building retreat! You have to pick which group you will be sent with to compete again the other! Do you side with the Wild Geese or the Iscariots?
2. You've won a week's vacation to the Bahamas, all expenses paid! But there's one problem...who is going to look after your beloved poochies while you're gone!?
The only people you can ask is either a starving Alucard or The Major. Who would you chose and why?
3. You've gone back in time to the night of your prom dance. The entire cast of Hellsing is there, along with ...everyone else.
Who amongst the cast is on your dance card and who is on your hit list?
I'm gonna start by saying that I'm dying for these questions and love them to bits. TYSM!! I'm gonna get right into it.
1. Fun fact about me! I went to an all girl catholic school for high school, so I've already been on retreats with a group of Catholics (and I'm well familiar with Catholic guilt, oh boy) so I'm gonna have to say the Wild Geese. They're probably really rowdy, but a corporate retreat probably means NOT a warzone and (if Hellsing sponsored) somewhere either nice in Britain or a country still under Britain's thumb. Sounds like it could be a good vacation.
(On that note I wrote some Hellsing headcanons ages ago about going to LeMans for the famous endurance race and because Pip and probably a bunch of the Wild Geese are French, they'd be familiar with it if not love going themselves. I've been before, loved it, and kinda follow endurance racing already, so I would love to do that as a retreat.)
2. Before I pick a babysitter I'm going to give you a full disclosure: I love big dogs. Grew up with goldens, a St. Bernard, and now my folks have a Newfoundland (who is a big baby that looks like a bear). So I would also have big dogs, probably Newfs or something (if only I'd be in a place to have a wolfdog) if I lived somewhere cold enough to be tolerable to them.
Now that said, I would honestly pick the Major. Alucard may or may not have eaten dogs and if he's hungry I would not be risking that. Automatic disqualification. But I would also daresay the Major probably likes dogs and might look at the Captain as a bit of a big dog himself. So if I were in the position to be able to ask: please take my dogs and don't let them witness your war crimes, sir. (Man let's trade for the week: you take my dogs and I take yours, if you know what I mean-- give me the Captain in swim trunks tanning on a beach. Or like, even better rent a whole catamaran and sail out to sea alone for like a week. A lot can happen in a week).
3. Prom was a funny night. First all-nighter I ever pulled in my life; I remember driving/flying home at 5AM in an overpowered car and feeling very free when the sun rose. I didn't actually spend much time dancing though because I went with friends-- had an all girl's school and knew no guys from the other private schools in the area. I think we had a brother school, never really got involved with them though.
That said, I would've danced with at least Integra, no questions asked. Just as friends. Would've probably avoided Zorin like the plague. And I am an almost criminally shy individual so I would've been pining hard across the room for the Captain only to get punked into dancing with him by a group of my friends. I would've never recovered. Didn't grow into IRL courage until many years later, lol, and I'm still a bit of a coward online. I am like, 3 hairs away from doing a Mill college AU for shits and giggles. But I'm gonna finish the December fic first. I may or may not have cheated and started drafting.

Patrick is a solo artist who's sunk his heart and soul into a second album that's failing to chart. Obviously what he needs to bump up sales and dirty up his nice guy image is a sex scandal. His music label hire amateur porn star and aspiring poet Pete to pose as Patrick's boyfriend and together they make one intimate video destined for infamy on the internet.
Patrick falling for Pete isn't part of the plan.
The Truth About Patrick
Pete Wentz is a fashion mogul with a brand new music label who gets an earful of struggling artist Patrick Stump's demo and wants to sign him. Except when he asks to see a photo of Patrick, Patrick sends him a picture of his hot roommate Mikey Way instead.
An AU based on the movie The Truth About Cats and Dogs.
Anything by SnitchesAndTalkers
Seriously they have so many good fics so I just linked their AO3 but some of my favourites they’ve written are Christmastime In The City, Dead and Dreaming, Pretty In Punk, and The Pros and Cons of Craigslist
I Could Crush You With My Voice
Pete was in an accident at an Arma show that left him totally blind. After four months of moping around his apartment, totally depressed, he opens his window and hears Patrick singing. It's love at first listen.
I Have Forgiven Jesus
In June 1952, Father Patrick Stump is involved in a scandal so great that the Diocese of Chicago has no choice but to send him away in disgrace. He finds himself in the town of Clark, Mississippi, a town not known for its tolerance of anything other than the All American Dream.
Pete never wanted to make the move to Clark but found himself forced by lack of opportunities and the death of his father during the war. Out of work and close to out of hope, he stumbles across a card in the general store, neither he, not the writer of the card aware that what follows will alter the course of their lives irrevocably.
But the smallest towns often have the darkest secrets...
You Know, I Only Wanted Fun
It’s a Hogwarts AU
But There’s No Preparing for This
Out of absolutely everything in the Central Chicago Public Library that Patrick was proud of, the number one thing was the erotica section. Was that a weird thing to be proud of? Possibly. But everyone knows librarians are the weirdest people on the planet.
On the other hand, the one thing Patrick absolutely hated about his job was difficult patrons. And the most difficult patron in the existence of difficult patrons was Pete Wentz, a man who had a big mouth and bad opinions about Patrick’s erotica section. Patrick could happily go the rest of his career without seeing Pete Wentz ever again. Like, ever. He had a loud voice and grating jokes and Patrick hoped he’d stay far, far away this weekend when Central Chicago Public Library played host to Kingston Lewis, the best erotica writer this century.

All The Beds I’ve Made *
Connor, co-owner of a popular coffee shop in Detroit, has been content to bury himself in his business instead of putting himself out there.
Things change when a cantankerous lieutenant becomes a regular.
(Modern Coffee Shop AU)
Bound
Hank is the sole owner, and worker, of a quaint little cafe nestled in a quite coastal village in the far north of the UK. Nine times out of ten the weather is utterly abysmal, rolling grey clouds and rain showers most days, and his shop is hidden down a narrow cobbled back alley, but he’s somewhat of a local legend for his comfort food.
It’s during one such grim, dreary day when Connor stumbles into his cafe, and his life.
Eighteen Wheels on an Uphill Climb
Hank is going to die. He’s going to die right here in Kentucky, 53 years old, halfway to broke, and tragically sober. Survived only by a nine-year-old St. Bernard and the 31-year-old twink who delivered the fatal blow.
Erasermic
How To Take Care Of A Mummy? *
Present Mic is being a personal nurse for an injured Aizawa.
Guess the rest...
Dragon Fruit
Being a dragon slayer is certainly a lonely and dangerous job, but someone has to do it, and Shouta Aizawa is that someone. He is a member of the Aizawa clan, after all. The job was supposed to be routine, just another dragon to kill to protect a nearby village, but the slayer's life changes forever when he meets Hizashi Yamada, a bard cursed to turn into a dragon whenever the sun rises. Really, there's only one glaring issue: Aizawa can't stand bards.
Hizashi doesn't deserve this curse - at least he thinks he doesn't. How's he supposed to live out a normal life of playing music and seducing women when he has horns and a tail? And that's only during the night! Nevertheless, he's survived with this curse for three years now, but his time's running out. Mating season is fast approaching and if he isn't cured by spring, he'll be completely consumed by the curse. His only hope is Shouta Aizawa, the same man who has promised to destroy him should they fail. Can the two really work together and find the cure when they can't even get along, or is Hizashi doomed to succumb to the dragon's curse?
Leopika
Event Horizons series *
Living in New York City is tough for anyone, and it’s no different for Leorio Paladiknight. He’s a medical school dropout, he’s up to his ears in debt, and his best friend Pietro has been in the hospital for months. But when he meets a feisty blond barista named Kurapika on a beautiful spring afternoon, his life takes an unexpected turn.
It’s Gonna Be a Bumpy Ride *
Leorio hated his cousin, Ging. He was a failure of a dad and couldn’t be bothered to watch his own kid for more than three minutes. It was Leorio’s turn to watch the kid now and it wasn’t like he was going to say no. Gon had no where else to go. He could at least let the teen bum on his couch for a few days.
He did not anticipate Gon’s incredible ability to talk to anyone, including his strange and stoic neighbor with the creepy quiet kid. He could have done with out the crazy clown and the gang drama but, hey, anything for family. (Plus that neighbor is cute when he’s not contemplating murderous revenge.)
The Odd Job
Amateur ghost hunter, Leorio Paladiknight, seems to put himself in quite a lot of spiritual predicaments. This leaves him at the mercy of a surly occult shop owner who might have more than just a few tricks up his sleeve.
Ineffable Husbands
Break my Cage and Spread my Wings *
Everyone called the Titanic the 'Ship of Dreams', but for Aziraphale, it was the ship of nightmares, carrying her away from her home in England, and her dreams of freedom, and towards the bleak future of her arranged marriage in America. The only spark of light in the darkness is her new and tentative friendship with the boldly intimate Crowley.
