Seeing that video of the cop with the Batman symbol and later getting arrested for child sex crimes. Infuriates me that they just latch onto any logo and logo is forever tainted. Like the Punisher logo.
So, Marvel just got rid of the Punisher logo for nothing since cops will latch onto whatever symbol they want. If Marvel really was that concerned about police brutality and the Punisher logo being involved, they could have easily done a story where the Punisher kills some corrupt cops that use his logo. You could have Frank killing corrupt feds. It's not out of character since he's killed so many corrupt feds and cops before. Now they just ruined the character for short lived virtue signaling points.

And all twelve chibis from the calendar together. <3
ID in alt text and under the cut.
[ID:
Twelve pictures.
The first one shows a chibi drawing of Peter Parker as Spider-Man in his classic red and blue spandex outfit. He is swinging on one of his webs from the right to the left, arms extended and legs bent in front of him.
The second one shows a chibi drawing of Maya Lopez as Echo, with the white handprint on her face, wearing a black crop top, black trousers, and bandages around her arms and hands. She is standing frontal to the viewer, head cocked, left hand on her waist, right hand lifted, holding a gun.
The third one shows a chibi drawing of Luke Cage, wearing his usual yellow shirt and blue jeans. He is turned slightly to the left and looking down at three bullet holes in his shirt. His shoulders are up and his hands are lifted in a what-the-hell way.
The fourth one shows a chibi drawing of Jennifer Walters as She-Hulk in her She-Hulk form, wearing a white and purple spandex suit with short sleeves and legs. She is turned sideways but looking at the viewer, smirking. She is flexing her right arm, touching her biceps with her left hand.
The fifth one shows a chibi drawing of Jessica Jones with her trademark leather jacket and gray scarf. She is turned slightly to the right, arms crossed, expression pissed, as she taps her right foot impatiently.
The sixth one shows a chibi drawing of Marc Spector as Moon Knight, swooping in from the top left. He is wearing his white Moon Knight suit, holding his cape in the shape of a crescent moon. The cape is covering most of his body and his eyes are glowing.
The seventh one shows a chibi drawing of Matt Murdock as Daredevil in his classic red suit, sporting the Daredevil logo on his chest and the horns on his mask. He is standing with his legs apart, slightly turned to the left, holding up his billy clubs in both hands. He looks pissed.
The eighth one shows a chibi drawing of America Chavez, wearing her usual jeans jacket with the red and white stripes on the shoulder parts and the blue shirt with the white star. She is smiling, crouching down frontally to the viewer, her left leg stretched to the side, her right leg bent, so she is resting on her knee. Her left arm is stretched to the side, while her right is aimed at the ground.
The ninth one shows a chibi drawing of Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, wearing her blue mask, blue top with the yellow lightning bolt, and red pants and scarf. She is turned slightly to the right, smiling, and her right arm and hand are embiggened and extended above her head.
The tenth one shows a chibi drawing of Danny Rand as Iron Fist in his classic suit with the yellow mask, green and yellow top, which is open in the front, showing his dragon tattoo, yellow sash, and green pants. His expression is concentrated, and he is turned slightly to the right in an attacking pose, hands balled into fists as his right hand is glowing.
The eleventh one shows a chibi drawing of Frank Castle as the Punisher, wearing his trademark skull shirt and a long black leather coat. He is looking angry, facing the viewer, arms extended in front of him, a gun in each hand.
The twelfth one shows a chibi drawing of Kate Bishop as Hawkeye in her purple outfit with the quiver slung over her shoulder and her purple glasses in her hair. Her body is facing the viewer, but she is turned completely to the left, expression one of concentration, as she bends a bow.

Not giving Bela and Kepp a Keyblade, for the other Predator Gods and their champions, which Keyblades would fit them?
I'll just give one to all of them anyway, because why the heck not? XD I'm basing this mostly on looks and styles, for the record.
For Prax Hondur, the God of Vengeance, I think End of Pain is a good choice. Prax is essentially a figure of divine retribution, punishing people for their crimes; he's a giant walking man-eating hellhound, essentially. If there was ever a keyblade that looked like it came from the bowels of Hell itself, it would be this one.
For his Champion, Mike Mendel, I think Way to the Dawn could be a good fit. It has a couple of visual elements slightly similar to End of Pain, but it has a very different vibe. The keyblade is meant to symbolize Riku's redemptive story arc, with imagery that evokes both angelic good and demonic evil; for Mike, who is a Servant of (and lover to) the God of Vengeance, but isn't quite as black-and-white in his moral philosophy, I think that could be an interesting visual metaphor in a different way.
For Baan Mehar, God of Desire, I think I'm gonna go with Crystal Snow. As much as I DESPISE the Arendelle World in KH3, I do genuinely like the look of this keyblade, in general. As for why I'm choosing it for Baan...well, Baan's animal motif is a polar bear, so I felt a keyblade with an ice theme fit him best. There are really only two candidates I can automatically remember (the other being Diamond Dust), and I think the design of this keyblade works a bit better. Being shaped like an actual castle gives it a grandiose nature, fitting the weapon of a God...while having a cute little snowman keychain fits Baan's more sweethearted personality as well.
For his Champion, Seala Jones, I think I'm gonna go with Ever After. I actually had a REALLY hard time deciding for Seala, for a lot of reasons; I wanted a keyblade that kind of contrasted Baan's, while still having some sweetness and lightness to it. Ever After is themed around Tangled/The Kingdom of Corona, which can kind of be seen as a "sister film" to Frozen, I would argue, and also depicts a fairy-tale tower of isolation (Rapunzel's woodland retreat), but has a theme of flowers and sunlight rather than icy cold. It seems a decent enough fit.
And now, for Bela, the God of Gluttony. I think Skull Noise is aesthetically the most fitting. It's a very "dark-looking" Keyblade, and when you combine the menacing appearance and skull logo with it actually having a little black cat as the keychain - which is Bela's animal motif - I think it matches well enough. As an Honorable Mention, I'll offer "Pumpkinhead," because a keyblade with a Gothic, Halloween-style, Tim-Burton-y look also seems appropriately fitting.
As for his Champion and "pet," Kepp...Lost Memory. Without question. The name of it alone feels like it fits Kepp most, and the style of the Keyblade just looks like it would fit him and his Master quite well. I also like the color contrast: Bela's key being mostly black, while Kepp's is mostly white.

Maria Castle (and Jason Aaron) officially declare: "The Punisher No More"... while gloriously pissing off right-wing chuds in the process!
I just read the final issue of Jason Aaron's 12-issue Punisher maxiseries, and here it is at long last! The scene in which Frank Castle's entire career of mass-murder and fascistic vigilantism is openly denounced by his now ex-wife, Maria!
This scene alone is what officially piqued my interest in wanting to read this book! Although Aaron is one of my personal Top 5 favorite comic book writers, I was initially uninterested in reading his recent Punisher run despite hearing critical praise for it due to both my personal overall lack of interest in Frank's solo-titles (my past exposure to him has mostly been through uneasy team-ups and/or rivalries with other characters like Spider-Man & Daredevil...), as well as the real-life controversy surrounding the Punisher's signature skull logo being co-opted by police officers and white nationalists (even though Aaron's run changed the logo in-response to said-controversy by having him join forces with The Hand ninja-cult). But when I heard about this scene on the day the final issue of the maxiseries dropped, it alone convinced me to want to actually read this series for myself, as it demonstrated Aaron's commitment to actively deconstructing the Punisher as a character while refuting his toxic & harmful ideology!
After being interrogated by the likes of Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Black Widow, and Moon Knight, Frank receives judgment from one final figure in the form of his former wife, Maria. Now able to fully announce her intentions to divorce her husband without a mob shoot-out to tragically interrupt her this time, Maria openly condemns all of the murders that Frank committed in both her and their dead children's names whilst revealing that she arranged for all of Frank's numerous weapons safe-houses to be confiscated. Half of the monetary real-estate from which would go to herself so that she could start a fresh new life, while the other half would be donated to charities in their children's names. As Maria herself states, "That's how you honor your dead family, Frank. Not by using them as an excuse for slaughter," before saying goodbye to her ex-husband for good as he awaits judgment for his crimes from Earth's Mightiest Heroes...
Holy FREAKING crap! This is the literal embodiment of giving the "reason you suck" speech if ever I've seen one! Not only does Maria freely express all of her personal justified grievances with her sadistic ex-husband, but she completely refutes his murderous & fascistic "might-makes-right" beliefs, and punishes him for his crimes by financially defanging him whilst simultaneously donating half of said-money & resources to worthwhile causes that ACTUALLY contribute to helping individuals hurt by corrupt societal systems, rather than further perpetuating said-corruption like Frank's murders have done.
And what makes Maria's berating of Frank Castle even more satisfying to read is that it ultimately managed to royally piss-off the far-right fascist scumbags who glorify & appropriate the Punisher's iconography in real-life. Seriously, when Punisher (2022) #12 was first released I witnessed several Comicsgater chuds whining and complaining about Marvel "ruining the Punisher's character forever" and Jason Aaron "emasculating Frank Castle." Additionally, said-CGers argued that Maria Castle was "unlikable" for robbing Frank of all his weapons and safehouses (except... I can honestly sympathize with Maria here since if I was also resurrected from the dead and found out that one of my relatives committed multiple mass-murders "in honor of my legacy," then I'd be pretty pissed off about it as well...).
And all I have to say in response to these bigoted manbabies' complaints about Aaron "ruining Punisher" is this:
GOOD!
If Aaron's Punisher maxiseries, and specifically the scene of Maria Castle condemning Frank, managed to anger the very same fascist rightwingers who blindly idolize the Punisher (despite his original creator Gerry Conway intending the character to be a cautionary figure about the failures of the justice system), then that fact alone makes this deconstruction of both the character & concept of Frank Castle a truly worthwhile endeavor! While the series ends with Frank using the last of the demonic magical powers granted to him by The Beast to escape the Avengers' captivity, along with the Archpriestess of the Hand trying to indoctrinate another troubled American youth similar into becoming her cult’s next "Fist of the Beast" (reflecting the sad reality of how fascist systems can continue to exist in society even when notable individuals are defeated), it appears that Marvel is officially retiring Frank Castle for good. Even though just last month Marvel released a new Punisher miniseries written by David Pepose which stars an ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Joe Garrison adopting the mantle, the epilogue of Aaron's maxiseries reveals that Frank had permanently banished himself to the Weirdworld alternate dimension, intentionally avoids fighting in local conflicts but instead provides shelter for war orphans (indicating that he might have actually taken his Maria's words to heart).
In my opinion, this is a far more satisfying conclusion than the alternative of having Frank killed off at the end of the series. This means that he actually has to put in ACTUAL effort to find some form of atonement or rehabilitation, rather than simply evading punishment for his crimes through death.
Overall, Jason Aaron's 12-issue Punisher maxiseries was a phenomenally inventive and thought-provoking character analysis and deconstruction of the truly violent & unstable individual that Frank Castle is (even long before he officially adopted the skull logo), whilst simultaneously analyzing and critiquing the circumstances that contributed to Frank's fascistic and murderous beliefs, as well as their negative impacts on his interpersonal relationships with individuals such as his wife Maria Castle. Although sadly, the way Aaron brilliantly ended Frank Castle's career as the Punisher in Issue #12 was sadly overshadowed by the controversy generated by a certain OTHER comic that Marvel released the exact same week... namely the publicity-stunt shock-death of Ms. Marvel (aka, Kamala Khan… aka, my all-time favorite superhero) in Zeb Wells' Amazing Spider-Man (2019) #26...
Sigh... at least Kamala was fortunately later resurrected over in the X-Men titles and was given the awesome Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant miniseries written by her MCU actress, Iman Vellani (which I've read and absolutely loved)!
But aside from that, the Punisher by Jason Aaron is easily one of the best modern comics that I read in 2023, with Issue #12 being the absolute thesis statement of what this series is truly about! I highly recommend it to anyone who desires a complete refutation & condemnation of the murderous scumbag that Frank Castle is and always has been.

I haven't made a real list, but since I spend all my time reading comics here's a top ten for 2022. (no particular order) First up is Kyle Starks' I Hate This Place. Kyle is always the best and a couple inheriting a farm only to find out it's haunted by ghosts/aliens/demons/cyptids/everything is a great hook.
Next up is the new Amazing Spider-Man series that brings back writer Zeb Wells and artist John Romita Jr. They're two of the best to ever do Spider-Man and as they tend to do they drag him through the mud along the way.
Adjacent to Spider-Man is Jed Mackay doing more Black Cat stories. He's writing the Moon Knight, Black Cat, and Dr Strange series and has proven to be one of the best and most prolific writers in the Marvel bullpen. Here's a bit from Mary Jane & Black Cat: Beyond.
Too bad for Jed but this was the year Chip Zdarsky hit homer after home with so many great series. Daredevil, Stillwater, Public Domain, and two Batman series that are all comic of the year level. It's been crazy watching the comedy guy known for Sex Criminals become the most prized writer at the big two. Nobody but Chip gets to write Batman and work for Marvel at the same time.
I've been going on and on about writers but the recent Poison Ivy series is all about artist Marcio Takara. I normally wouldn't give a series like this a chance but it's a beautiful horror comic where a lot of folks get torn apart by fungal spores.
I also wouldn't have touched a Harley Quinn series but Riley Rossmo's art will get me to read anything. He just started a new Robin series where Tim Drake is living in a boat house and working as a private eye. So far so good!
I don't care about the Eternals or Avengers and keeping up with the X-Men is exhausting but the A.X.E. Judgement Day event was great. Basically the superheroes create a new god and it decides to judge everyone on earth individually. If it does the math and we're mostly bad the earth goes bye bye. Captain America is the first to get a thumbs down and everyone collectively goes "oh so we're fucked right?" Then when the Eternals wake up some old war machines one reads the whole internet and becomes the secret admirer of a single human writer.
As I said X-Men is exhausting, but it was worth it to get all the jokes in X-Men '92 House of XCII which retells the last few years of X-Men comics as if they were adapted to the 90s cartoon.
A much clearer X-Men comic was Giant-Size X-Men: Thunderbird. He was the first X-Man to die for the cause and now that mutants can be resurrected he's back and not sure he wants to be a part of it anymore. It's co-written by trans native-american pro wrestler Nyla Rose and I was expecting very little but it's great.
Guess this is my last one. I have been shocked by how good the Punisher: King of Killers series is. Writer Jason Aaron and artists Jeus Saiz & Paul Azaceta bounce between two art styles & times. The present where Frank Castle is worshipped as history's greatest killer by ninja assassin cult, The Hand, and the past where we discover he first killed at age 10 and how his family dying was never what made him the Punisher. It's also an allegory about how The Punisher isn't cool and you shouldn't like him and anyone who would use his skull logo unironically is dumb.
Sorry TMNT Armageddon Game, One-Star Squadron, Superman The Warworld Saga, X-Terminators, My Bad, Billionaire Island: Cult of Dogs, World's Finest, and everyone else from this year but I've run out of time and space. Look forward to Spider-Man/X-Men Dark Web on next year's list alongside both of Ryan North's new comics Secret Invasion and Fantastic Four.

"YEAH WELL IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU SHOULD GET INVOLVED IN LOCAL POLITICS! BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD!"
Settle down there, immortal chunk of JFK's skull.
My rural Mennonite-dominated area doesn't have a Gay Communist Witch party. These people base every vote on who is the most vocal against abortion, including when selecting a coroner. We have a local Democrat Party, but they haven't updated their Facebook page since 2018. And that update was about how their treasurer was quitting to go be a lawyer in Boston.
This is an area where the proud Democrats are quietly anti-trans as they buy new Teslas with the return on their fracking company investments. How exactly am I supposed to get involved? And why should I, when I honestly think most of these people SHOULDN'T have the right to vote, fucking look at them!
Telling people to get involved in politics as a solution to discontent is like telling people who are lonely to buck up and just put yourself out there and date: it implies a certain baseline. A white, thin, middle class, right / left, straight, Punisher-logo-police-flag baseline. If you don't fit into that, "getting involved" is next to impossible here without compromising your ethics. Or it legitimately demands I put myself at real risk.
I don't trust my parents enough to come out to them. You think I'm telling the meth-heads in MAGA hats down the street that I want to weener a butt?
Congratulations on you being a suburban libertarian who wants out of life exactly what everyone else on your block wants, and frequently gets it. Others of us are not so lucky.
Voting / running for office isn't going to fix my problems.
And if it did, significantly, you wouldn't like it.

so this is a few months old now but here’s my take:
looking at the pdf there are some more benign alt-right symbols in here, like the fucking punisher skull (?), which has never really implied any sort of organization to me (there are also three-%er and other militia logos tho, for the record). There’s also a page on environmental and animal rights symbols.
Overall I would say the things here are less effective at identifying domestic terrorists and more effective at indicating the political leanings of whoever you’re dealing with (or whatever protest you’re dealing with).
It’s also interesting to me that the three pages here are all marked unclassified, and are covered in other unclassified signifiers. So, there could potentially be additional symbols in the DT guides that are more concrete at actually indicating if someone is a potential terrorist, but they are classified. Also, the FBI could be being overly broad in the categorization of DTs at the public level.
Additionally, the weird order of duplication in the pdf (environment, anarchist, environment, anarchist, militia, militia), adds to my hunch that this was probably a mixed classification document.
Do I think you’re going to get arrested for common leftist imagery/slogans: Nope. (At a protest it may be a different story, but it always has been.)
However, it does make me want to do them more, so.
Ultimately, all this means to me is that the government is aware enough of leftist action to be scared of it, and that’s a good thing.
IMPORTANT!!!
I’ve only seen like one person talk about this and it’s super important that this gets out there
Multiple punk symbols and sayings have been added to the FBI’s domestic terrorism guide
Things included are
The symbol for anarchy
ACAB and 1312
The three arrows pointing down in a circle
Eat the rich
Those are a few but it also mentions anything anti-fascist and anti capitalist
So if you live in the US please be careful

How the dual antagonistic roles of Ares & the Archpriestess effectively underscore the monster that the Punisher has always been…
Seeing as I’m now currently 7-issues into the 12-issue Punisher: King of Killers/Punisher No More maxiseries by Jason Aaron, I’ve noticed an interesting thematic dichotomy between the series’ two overarching main antagonists: the Greek God of War Ares & the Archpriestess of the Hand.
While both Ares & the Archpriestess highly venerate Frank Castle as the most gifted mass-murderer to ever live, the two figures are diametrically opposed to each other in what they regard as the Punisher’s true purpose. Essentially, Ares believes that the Punisher taking up the sword of the Ninja as a member of the Hand is a complete betrayal of the old Frank Castle who specializes in tactical gunfire and fist-to-cuffs warfare. This is reflected in Ares and his apostles operating a black market arms ring which sells fantastical Marvel weaponry to various third parties (i.e. street gangs, terrorists, hate groups, and warlords) all for the expressed purpose of continuing the cycle of war and bloodshed. Conversely, the Archpriestess convinces Frank to accept the role of the Hand’s new Fist of the Beast with the promise of ending helping him his own personal war once and for all by both resurrecting his wife Maria and granting him an army of Shinobi dedicated solely to murder and death to systematically destroy everyone Frank considers to be a criminal.
From a thematic and meta-textual sense, Ares feels somewhat akin to the neoliberal capitalist industry which continues the ongoing cycle of warfare for personal gain (which both the United States & Europe have a long history of…), similar to how Marvel itself has repeated the cycle of Punisher stories of him constantly murdering criminals for the entertainment of audiences (which Ares is also reflective of given his own idealization of Castle). Additionally, Ares also feels like a personification of the vocal group of Punisher fans IRL who were harshly critical of the character becoming a Hand ninja as well as his logo-change due to the Punisher’s signature skull symbol being unfortunately co-opted by right-wing police and militia groups.
Conversely, the Archpriestess helps expose the inevitable fascistic undercurrents which underlie the Punisher as a concept, since she has him join a literal death cult which intends to destroy all in its path, and even specifically chooses Frank as the avatar for the Hand’s murder god due to America’s unique history of mass-murder (highlighting the self-destructive Ouroboros nature of fascism that the U.S. has been inescapably connected to given both its historical atrocities and contemporary culture of apathy which enables the glorification of violence and hatred). And the Hand’s fascistic death-cult ideology is further evident through past comics showcasing the organization’s close associations with HYDRA, which in-itself feels reflective of Imperial Japan’s alliance with Nazi Germany during WWII.
And it is through opposing Ares and accepting the Archpriestess’ offer to Frank of resurrecting his dead-wife Maria in exchange for leading the Hand’s forces as their new “Fist of the Beast” that the Punisher fully succumbs to the Ouroboros nature of his fascistic “might makes right” vigilante-ideology, as he is now willing to end his own war by destroy everything and everyone he personally deems as “evil,” all whilst desperately trying to cling onto the individual relationships that he feels personally entitled to such as those with his wife and children, not yet realizing that he already lost them even long before they were shot to death in Central Park, and that he has no one to blame for losing them but himself…
In large measure, the dual roles of Ares & the Archpriestess effectively correlate with Jason Aaron’s overarching deconstruction of Frank Castle’s character, exposing him as the unstable, self-destructive and uniquely American fascistic vigilante created by an apathetic capitalistic system that he’s always been, both within and outside the printed page!

Looking At James Gunn's Superman Shield
BW Media Spotlight isn't mad, but I am sad Looking At James Gunn's Superman Shield
I’m not angry, just disappointed. Honestly if I had a better article topic for tonight I wouldn’t even bother. Not every superhero has a symbol. Iron Man doesn’t. Wonder Woman doesn’t, not really. I like coming up with symbols for my superheroes because it’s fun but it’s not a requirement unless you’re adapting a logo for a character you’re also adapting. The first Punisher movie lacked the skull…
