Same as it ever was. Remember that anyone trying to tell you that people not in the government are the problem is probably trying to manipulate you. Fascists win when Racists take action. They will try to use social tension to blame minorities for the problems in the world and allow the Racists to take action against them and take power in the chaos. When they are done with the minorities, then comes the purity tests. Speak up, act out. RESIST.
"...Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
The fact that this is 80 fucking years ago but still just as relevant is terrifying.

you know what? like, no, actually, i don't want to see endless reblogs of gifs of people punching nazis with trite comments underneath like "likes charge reblogs cast" or "here's some positive cleansing energy for your blog". actually i want to know what concrete steps you're going to take to support the vulnerable people in your life, because personally, just a hot take here, but i actually believe that it's more important to care for people and act out of love and compassion than it is to act out of hatred and idolize violence. not that anyone would care about this. i swear it's all just some fantasy where people are so excited they finally get to be violent because they actually only care about getting to be the oppressors and have their turn as the boot on someone's neck.
they've been doing this to jews for over a year now, after all.

Philip Lowe is confirming what I suspected about Elon. Nazi-adjacent is still just as bad. Using the power of others' hatred to amass power is still despicable.

On the importance of immigrants…
I usually just post fun, quirky fandom stuff, but in light of recent events I felt I needed to speak up:
Most Americans probably know this iconic song.
youtube
It’s considered a classic piece of Americana, but what you may not know is that despite all its mentions of West Virginia, the song was actually inspired by its neighbor, Maryland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other thing is, it wasn’t written by John Denver but by a couple, Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. Their creativity and collaboration brought the song to life before Denver’s voice made it a legend.
Before the success of that song, the two were very much starving artists—in the most literal sense. They couldn’t even afford groceries.
Tumblr media
The names Sol and Helen Butt may not mean anything to you, but they mean everything to me…they were my great-grandparents.
Sol was a Polish immigrant, hence the unfortunate last name, awkwardly shortened from its original Polish form. It’s difficult to trace the records, but we believe he arrived in the U.S. sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s. According to my grandmother—his daughter-in-law—he saw the writing on the wall with the rise of fascism and antisemitism in the lead up to you know what.
As a Jew, he decided to leave before it was too late. The details are hazy, and my recently deceased grandmother’s memory wasn’t as sharp in her final years. (We sadly lost my grandfather when I was very young.) But as far as we know, only Sol—and possibly one of his sisters—made it out. What became of his parents and other siblings is unclear, but you can imagine…
Sol was, by all accounts, a kind, generous, and very… passionate man. One family legend tells of a time when a man came into their little “Mom and Pop grocery store” and held a knife to my great-grandmother’s throat, attempting to rob them. My great-grandfather was in the back, where they also had a small butcher shop. Hearing the commotion, he came out holding his giant butcher’s cleaver. The would-be robber took one look at the furious Polish man with the enormous knife and bolted. But Sol, enraged that someone would dare threaten his beloved wife, didn’t stop there—he chased the man down the street, cleaver in hand, yelling at him the whole way.
Sol and Helen had a long, happy marriage until their deaths, long before I was born. They were apparently so well-loved in their neighborhood that when they eventually retired and sold their shop, the community threw a giant block party in their honor. Somewhere, packed away in my dad’s house, there’s an old album with grainy photos of that day—a celebration of two lives that left such a lasting mark on everyone around them.
They were survived by my grandfather, who, as I mentioned earlier, passed away many years ago. Even so, I can still vaguely remember him—a warm, bald man with an infectious belly laugh and the kind of hugs that made you feel completely safe and loved. Sol and Helen raised a good man, someone who spent the last 30 years of his life using his law degree not to climb the ladder at some fancy law firm, but to defend people against predatory IRS practices, fighting for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. Tragically, despite his dedication to helping others, he was let down by the U.S. healthcare system and died from a preventable cause—a painful irony for a man who spent his life trying to make things fairer for others.
All this to say, immigrants built this country, shaping everything from agriculture to art and contributing to the few parts of the U.S. that make life here worth living. No one should have to justify why they deserve to exist somewhere, but immigrants have more than proven their value. Without them, much of what we think of as quintessentially American wouldn’t exist—from Italians giving us pizza to Japanese workers building the railroads, to Mexican communities enriching our culture, to a small immigrant-owned grocery store quietly supporting the creation of one of America’s most beloved songs. Immigrants aren’t just part of the story—they are the story, woven into the very fabric of this nation.
Fuck Elon Musk
Fuck our orange dictator
Fuck Nazis
And remember kids, always punch Nazis in their stupid fucking face.
Or chase them with a cleaver, you have options.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, that is all.

When you see a Nazi, ask them if they had family who fought in WWII if they deny being a Nazi. And if their relatives fought against Nazis, remind that person that their relative would fight against them because they’re a Nazi.
Or point out to them that you had a relative that fought Nazi’s and that you wish to continue that tradition

Defending them gives you all the information you need. Anyone that doesn't think that Elon 'could' be doing this is not your friend. That person is a useful idiot at best and a Nazi-sympathizer at worst.
In case anyone missed how unambiguous Musk's nazi salute was.

The first German media is carefully starting to report on our Foreign Minister "warning against" the absolute bloodbath "humanitarian challenge" of an all-out Israeli attack on the refugees in Rafah.
And I found myself baring my teeth against the radio like a weirdo because I can't contain my disgust and fury.
You.
Were all cheering this on UNTIL NOW.
You.
Were persecuting anyone who raised the alarm about the ON-GOING humanitarian catastrophe as an "antisemitic terrorism supporter". People lost JOBS. People lost social standing. PEOPLE WERE SUED.
Everyone with a human heart WAS SCREAMING ABOUT THIS FOR FOUR MONTHS but you were too fucking racist and arrogant to listen, because "who can trust these Muslims and anyone who lets themselves by MANIPULATED by them amirite".
And NOW that 30 THOUSAND bodies are counted and MANY will follow, NOW that EXACTLY WHAT PEOPLE SAID WOULD HAPPEN IN RAFAH IS HAPPENING.
Now you're getting scared because those people who kept screaming about human rights might ACTUALLY have been onto something, and you're seeing yourself unable to wiggle out of the fact that YOU TOO cheered on this ethnic cleansing, you see yourself in some DEEP SHIT of I don't fucking care "public opinion" or something, because CERTAIN AS HELL IT'S NOT SUDDENLY GROWING A CONSCIENCE.
And now you try to fucking quickly get up some "plausible deniability" defence, so that you might be protected from the full brunt of "The world is watching the targeted massacre of refugees on livestream and YOU personally told the perpetrators that it's fine, go ahead, no red lines, do as you wish because PER DEFINITION your ends are pure of heart and justify ANY means physically possible" UNTIL THIS FUCKING MOMENT WHEN IT BECAME TOO OBVIOUS TO FURTHER DENY REALITY.
I fucking hate everyone.
I hope their stories haunt you to the end of your days, awake and asleep.
Germany is complicit and was ENTHUSIASTICALLY so until THIS moment, where now everyone is trying to wiggle out.
"We just didn't KNOW! UwU"
FUCK THIS ENTIRE FUCKING NAZI COUNTRY

Well, @palefirefox decided to block me, which is actually probably fair, given that I’ve been relentlessly calling him on his bullshit. Before he did though, he did claim that he didn’t say any of the things I accused him of in my numbered post last night, and that I couldn’t find quotes. (bottom of my post included so you can see that it is what he's responding to):
Tumblr media
I made the list I made by going through his blog, so some of them might be hard to find, but here’s what I could pull just from what’s on my blog (I highlighted the relevant parts on the longer bits because I didn’t want to be accused of taking anything out of context but there’s a lot to read):
Judaism isn’t a real religion/ Judaism doesn’t allow converts
Tumblr media
If Judaism does allow converts it’s a Zionist plot
Tumblr media
Palefirefox has “expertise in cultural history” that the members of the culture that is under discussion (Judaism) lack.
Tumblr media
Being Jewish doesn’t mean you know more about Judaism than palefirefox does (given the way it was used to “answer” the question, I’m interpreting the below to mean that because Christians aren’t necessarily experts in their religion, Jews aren’t either. Which is actually a fair point, but it doesn’t answer the question of how he knows more, and also it’s easier to know when someone is wrong than to produce the correct answer yourself. I pointed out that the average Christian might not be able to name all of Jesus’s disciples, but they can probably tell that Odin wasn’t one of them.)
Tumblr media
He has claimed that antisemitism isn’t a valid term because “Semite” refers to both Jews and Arabs, so Jews can’t use it to refer only to themselves
Tumblr media
He has said that he won’t consider any evidence coming from the USA in general, and has disregarded provided links to proof because they weren’t quality (including the OED and BBC websites)
Tumblr media
People claiming to be Jewish who are telling him that he’s wrong are probably lying and shouldn’t be believed
Tumblr media
Jewish people were probably taught their own religion incorrectly and he knows it better than they do
Tumblr media
While he demands that others provide proof of what they say, he flat refuses to provide any proof of his own.
Tumblr media
Anyway, if anyone wants to send this on to him so that he can see that the mean lady on the internet has proof, I’d appreciate it.

I could write a goddamn essay about how the "Nazis are inhuman pure evil monsters" logic has actually helped Nazis but unfortunately saying "Hey Nazis ARE people, choosing a group that you don't like and deeming them subhuman and okay to treat as such is not only nazi logic but also makes it easier for Nazism to rise" will probably just have people claim I myself am a Nazi because there are way to many idiots who think that dehumanization is ok when they do it to those who "deserve it"
#*shakes you* if you don't get the point#elon was able to do the goddamn nazi salute and still get defended BECAUSE people believe nazis are these alien “others”#that behave like cartoon villains and want to destroy the great country of america#red skull is a believable nazi to these people because he is the enemy of the character literally named captain america#and has an inhuman looking face#but in reality nazis ARE humans and they will act like human beings#while people are on the lookout for a redskull 2.0 to heroically punch#they're simultaneously rolling their eyes at people pointing out actual real nazi behaviour and calling them overdramatic or sensitive#because they can't grasp that nazism is not redskull#they can't grasp that nazism IS those slurs that discrimination those “opinions” on politics those viewpoints#nazis aren't sitting in an evil lair they are humans who have families and are nice and say funny things#they sway people they can justify their beliefs they can claim it's for the greater good#they don't have to say they're a nazi at all#and then when marginalized groups who aren't so blind call out the dogwhistle or that concerning opinion everyone jumps on them#and will say “but they're so nice” “they're a lefist” “having an opinion doesn't make you a nazi” “nazis don't act like that” etc#and the person in question slowly gains more influence and power because they act like a person#they hurt all the groups no one at the top cares about until oops turns out they're a nazi and nobody can believe it#do you think the nazi party held people at gunpoint in order to be supported in germany?\#no they made promises they inspired hope#they found a marginalized group to use as a scapegoat and justified it through propaganda and arguments that sounded smart and clever#none of that would have happened if they acted like a cartoon nazi#dehumanising and demonising these people merely gives them more power as they are pictured as an unstoppable alien force#you people who are on you morally superior american hero crusade will only hurt others who don't act good enough or you personally#nazis are human beings#i am not defending them#i am not one of them#i am stating an undeniable fact that can make many of them lose their power if enough people begin to understand it#before you cheer “punch nazis” think about how many times you'vr excused people drawing the swastika “for fun”#or how many times you've advocated for censorship and purist logic because you believe you're protecting the kids#or stopping “bad” people from spreading their “fantasies” or “beliefs” and “normalising them”

I think that this goes without saying, but in case someone didn’t know.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s clarify that I wouldn’t physical punch a nazi in the face. They’re not worth the energy to take a swing at, but I would beat them down verbally. Every time I hear someone say something ignorant I usually ask this:
Tumblr media
You can fix ignorance with education, provided they’ll listen and not just hear you out, but fucking process the words that are coming out of your mouth. Put the grey cells into gear, I know its been a long time since they’ve had to do that.
I know that won’t change their mind. Educating the ignorant is a hard thing to do. I’m not saying that it won’t work but this is just fear of what you don’t understand.( Witch Trials, genocide, oh shit history repeats it self?! Bruh.) Its deep rooted and just so freaking stupid.
And instead of trying to learn about another culture ( Expand that narrow mind of yours ya useless duck fart!), in a day and age where you can literally google something. You’d rather be living in a ignorant, narrow-minded, hateful echo chamber? Its not going to cost you a thing but the time to learn. No one is saying that you have to be come a DEI (Diversity, Equality Inclusion) Doctorate instantly.
I don’t understand that mentality of wanting to remain willfully ignorant and hateful. Life is short to be willfully hateful and ignorant. Educate the ignorant, maybe if they hear it enough times that might open their mind. If they don’t listen then you can punch them in the face. j/k don’t really punch them in the face, go for where their brains live, in their ass.
Tumblr media
If you can’t reblog this, unfollow me now.
