30 Minutes of Madness (Videos, 1992-2014)
Two episodes and various segments of the Michigan public access TV show. You can watch them here.
But why stop there? There's an entire website with every episode, even more individual segments, blog posts including videos of other shows, links to an entire documentary, and much, much more.

Dude I just found this video that's an iceberg of public access tv. In the first THREE MINUTES there's been:
A rude psychic who doesn't actually tell people's fortunes, instead hanging up on them if "their vibes are bad" (which applies to everyone)
A wholesome drag queen cooking show where all she cooks are bananas and she has paper mache tits
An anarchist punk who said "oops, my anarchy symbol!" when his desk-pounding led to his hand-drawn sign falling down
This is all in tier 1 btw, out of 6 tiers total. I think I just found my new favorite video lol

I usually don't post anything original, (or anything at all), but I'm really proud of this. My Sibling Liz and I, a few months ago, filmed a pilot for a cannabis- adjacent Game Show for public access television, and this was the result!
It's not perfect, but we did our best. I even learned how to edit video for the project. If you have about a half an hour, I'd really appreciate watching it!

Hi! I'm Chaz and I love the chaotic, 'weird' and funny!
I'm starting this archive to compile all my favourite pieces of media pertaining to the art and humour of chaos, joy and being human (in all its beauty and strangeness.)
I'll explain my thoughts and aim below, it may get long ^^
I don't think I quite have the words to explain exactly what I'm meaning, but I hope I'll find them eventually, for now I hope the works I'll share speak for me.
I've had this idea for quite some time, I've always been fascinated by those who have little care for what society deems normal and are earnest in expressing themselves, especially through video, who want to spread laughs and joy (or do so unintentionally!)
It started with the visual artist Jan Hakon Erichsen. (I highly recommend you check his work out!) Erichsen explores physics within his works, many including suspense and tension.
My first introduction to Erichsen was one of his older works (2018 i believe) in which he has spagetti noodles lined up neatly and attached to 2 peices of wood at either end, Erichsen then uses his head to break through the multiple spagetti noodles. Many people reacted somewhat negatively with the sentiment of 'Well that's rather silly what's the point in that' but that is exactly why I enjoyed it so much! It IS silly! It was amusing to see, and I don't believe that these works are just made willy nilly, thought is put behind how he will execute these ideas and how to get the intended result. But also I just really like the idea of Erichsen going 'man I'd love to just break pasta with my head in hundreds of different ways'
Throughout the years since then I have found myself enamoured in 'weird' things, for example surrealist peices of media such as ENA by Joel G, LetspaintTV, Xavier Renegade Angel, The Flacid Ego Show and Talking Heads' show 'Stop Making Sense' serving as big inspirations to me.
This fixation has only grown with the reach of social media growing even more in recent years, many people sharing their thoughts and ideas online and creating content just for the fun of it! I've found myself drawn in by very many creators who truly are creating fun pieces of media truly because they want too, reach or no reach! I find almost all the time these videos are quite playful in nature and I believe that Play itself is an art and should be celebrated, so I'd like to do that here!
Thanks for reading I do hope my rambling made some sense and you'll stick around to enjoy with me!

Lyric Video: The Library is on Fire Teams Up with Mike Watt on a Tense and Uneasy Ripper
Lyric Video: The Library is on Fire Teams Up with Mike Watt on a Tense and Uneasy Ripper @heygroover @romainpalmieri @DorianPerron @wattfrompedro
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter and musician Steve Five took his name from a poem by French wartime poet René Char, while working at Strand Bookstore. He also had weekly meetings over coffee with Television‘s Tom Verlaine. Five started The Library is on Fire back in 2007, and the band quickly established a sound that combined the melodies of Guided by Voices and the wall of sound guitar riffage…

i would love if Jane Schoenbrun tried novelizing their films. now that they've written a novel, it would be so interesting how they would approach it, what they would expand on, especially since both films are so tied to being films. plus since Public Access Afterworld is a trilogy-capper to World's Fair and TV Glow, it would be cool to have all three on a bookshelf together

Stairway to Stardom opening
I don’t know how I have only recently discovered this amazing public access show from NY (1979-90’s) but there is an entire YouTube channel dedicated to it. It’s amazing.
