Relpase and rebuilding

When ever I write in one of my poems

The girl is always broken

She’s hurt

She’s cold

She’s fighting

Just to be fine.

Though in real life

I always say

“Oh I’m over that.”

I am not just surviving anymore

I say I’m finally living.

But in the dead of night

I still write about the broken girl.

I still write the hurt.

I haven’t told anyone that the insomnia back.

I haven’t told them my migraines are back

And that my flash backs are

More lively then ever.

The panic is dancing round in my heart.

No.

I never knew relapse could be more then just addiction.

There is no real end to surviving

Every mountain top has a bottom.

After the bombing is over

And you’ve lived the war

You still have to rebuild.

So here’s to the new woman I have to be;

The builder.

Here’s to the next chapter of surviving.

California Teen Who Pimped Out Younger Girls Gets 13 years

Marc Benjamin of The Sacramento Bee writes :   An 18-year-old Hanford woman was sentenced to 13 years in prison for her role in the pimping and human trafficking of younger girls.  Hanford police detectives arrested Jelinajane Bedrijo Almario in May 2016. Though a juvenile, she was tried as an adult for human trafficking, sending threatening emails to a family member of at least one of the girls and making terrorist threats.   Please read the entire article; it is eye-opening.  A case we are involved with, spanning the last 9 months, includes dozens of female recruiters targeting hundreds of others through social media and recruiting parties. We know of one circle of people responsible for the abuse/trafficking of nearly 3000 girls and boys, many of them underage. When this group holds their parties on national holidays, the recruiters go into overdrive needing to supply hundreds of guests with young people to for sex. Not all ‘guests’ need their services as many bring their own ‘party favours’ to share and trade out for the evening. I know these numbers sound outrageous to people many don’t believe they could be true, they are. They have all we received them from the recruiters who are now in protective custody waiting to testify against the individuals involved.  To read the testimonies of the recruiters is horrific. Stories of their own abused laced with guilt-ridden confessions of trafficking others. Accounts of forced group sex and bestiality. Forced pornography and a range of other activities I don’t I feel comfortable writing about in a public document.  People often ask us how they can make a difference: 1) Share this post with your social media contacts. 2)   Support us as we run seminars  around the country raising awareness with community groups, first responders and college students. Domestic Violence Awareness Month – Can Men Be Abused by Women?

It is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so here is a question for you :  Can Men Be Abused by Women?   You might ask; What does he mean by  ‘abused’  ?    Can a man be emotionally abused by a woman?    Can a man be psychologically abused by a woman?     Can a man be physically abused by a woman?    Can a man be sexually abused or raped by a woman?    Can a man be financially abused by a woman?     Dr Tara J. Palmatier , PsyD believes so, in fact she is so committed helping men over come abuse by women that back in 2009 she started  Shrink4Men  because she recognized that men who are in abusive relationships in which the perpetrator is a woman do not have the same support resources as their female counterparts.    So can men be abused?  I’ll let a women do the talking…  The answer to these questions is a resounding  YES . Women are every bit as capable of being abusive as men. Women, by virtue of their sex, aren’t inherently more noble, peaceful, wise, better able to express their emotions or [insert supposed exclusive female virtue here] than men. To claim otherwise is sexist.  That’s right. SEXIST.   Women Are Just as Physically Abusive as Men   High-conflict, abusive jerks seem to be fairly distributed between the sexes. In fact, women excel  and surpass their male counterparts in psychological aggression (Muñoz-Rivas, et al., 2007). Women’s use of physical aggression is nearly equal to men (Parity, 2010). Michigan woman involved in ‘worst case’ of child porn in decades

Anngela Boyle, 27, was sentenced Wednesday, was sentence to 30 years for her involvement in taking sexually explicit videos of young children at her home. She admitted to taking nude photos and videos of four children, ages one to nine. Anngela had confessed to federal agents that she interacted sexually at least four times with a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. The Michigan Judge called it the worst case he had seen in 20 years.  “This type of investigation will always rock a community to its core, and the gravity of the crime and the helplessness of the victims impacts even seasoned investigators,” Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh previously said.  In addition to federal pornography crimes, the couple were also charged with criminal sexual conduct by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.  Anngela Boyle pleaded guilty in that case and received a 25-to-60 year prison sentence in March. I want to live my life, yet there’s a part of me that wants to die. I want to unfold and come alive, yet I am met with so much resistance. I hate days like this when all I long to do is grab that bottle and drown away my sorrows. It’s easier therapy. It’s faster relief. But in the end, I’m always left more thirsty than before.

Why does depression always loom around every corner? Why does it follow me every where I go? Why does it chase me so relentlessly and haunt me in my sleep? Will it ever let me go?

Dr. King. I watched, “Stopping Traffic” tonight and it had a profound effect on me. My first memory is of my uncle pushing his penis in my mouth. I was 3 or 4. It went on from there. Around 12 my mom started to take me to a bait camp where I would service the returning shrimpers. I always knew all this happened.  When I finally got out of that hell hole I grew up in, I went to therapy. I still felt nothing. Nothing at all. It was all just shoved down so deep. And the shame was so horrible that I split myself in half. Part of me was a straight A student and the other part went to bars and picked up men every night. Then, I picked sociopathic men to be with and I stayed because I always thought I deserved it.  Well…when I heard you say that having sex at such a young age was all you had ever known and seeing the all too familiar pain in your eyes…I finally got it. really got it. For the absolute first time. In spite of reading every book I could and over a decade of therapy as well as a life coach and talking about the abuse to my therapist and even volunteering with a sexual abuse survivor group…I honestly never got just how little I was and how much was taken from me.  Been crying ever since. But, I think it is good. I am 55 years old now. And I am pissed off for you and for me and my medical school mentor, whose name was D.C. and as also abused by his father every night of his childhood. Unfortunately, he took his own life 7 years ago. I stopped talking about my abuse because I was worried that people would see me as damaged, broken. But, it is so much a part of who I am that I have to find a way to use what I went through to try to help in some way.  Thank you for sharing yourself I am going to  buy your book .
