Graveyard of Unfinished Projects, Pt I

@anti-workshop asked me to do a deep dive on my Graveyard of Unfinished Projects, and i’m always thrilled to talk about my art!

i got this little cart (with working wheels!!) at target for $5. i am forever finding the most amazing little doll accessories from their discount bins at the front of the store. i’ve also got some fake greenery tiles for photoshoots, a cute bike (although that came from michael’s, i think), and an adorable little orange wheelbarrow. once the projects on it are finished, it will become a doll-sized tea tray.

first up: witch cubone! he had a bone club but it was really thin and it broke at some point. this is from an stl i found on thingiverse.

baby dragon eggs! I recently made an egg and a baby dragon for a coworker who is having a baby soon. i painted the egg iridescent pale pink and glued a deep pink heart jewel just above the clasp, and painted the dragon iridescent purple (purple is her favorite color). of course i forgot to take pictures before i gave it to her. >_< it was super cute though. stls from thingiverse.

tiny snail dragon with wings! i have a few different versions of these tiny dragons, the stls were made by the same person who made the eggs.

skeletal dragon, snail dragon with and without wings, regular dragon, sea dragon. i have a couple versions of each. here’s how they look on and off the sprue. they’re actually jointed and they’re held together by stringing with tiny hair elastics. i use the clear ones meant for braiding. the wings are strung separately from the rest of the body and let me tell you what a bitch it is to get the damn elastic threaded through the tiny holes. i need some really fine gauge jewelry wire to be able to string them without difficulty.

part of a tea set! these are roughly 1:4, or Mini Super Dollfie (MSD) scale. there’s more pieces in this collection, including a lid for the teapot, that i haven’t gotten around to printing yet. files from thingiverse.

beacon the prussian blue (NOT navy blue) three-tailed kitsune, my fursona. she leads those who are lost out of the darkness by the light of her lantern. i customized and bought this stl from heroforge. their options for anthropomorphic characters have really expanded, and i’m here for it!

doll shoe bases. wedge heel on the left, platform heel on the right. i bought the files from moonlightjewel, they’re designed in monster high scale but 3D printing files are scalable so i scaled them up a bit for my MSD. haven’t decided what to do with them yet. i have plans for a retrofuture alien girl at some point maybe they’ll come in handy for that.

possum cowboys, aka the sheriff and her deputy! this was one of the first things i ever 3D printed. i believe the files for this came from thingiverse.

the PRIDE and JOY of the Unfinished Projects Graveyard; the only object in this post that i 3D sculpted myself. it was sculpted in nomad sculpt for the ipad, using a tutorial by erika casab of little robot studio. it was SO HARD but i didn’t even cry once. i’m still inordinately proud of it, but it is so freaking difficult to photograph!

It’s nearly 4 am

It didn’t matter how long or short you were apart, Simon always brought something back for you

After each and every one of his deployments, though all you ever asked for was for him to return to you in one piece, he would find you a small souvenir, a token, a postcard, or some sort of little trinket from whichever corner of the glove he found himself in this time, keeping it near and dear to him until his feet were back on familiar ground and he could put it in your familiar hands

You had told him that it wasn’t necessary, but when he simply blinked and ask you if it made you happy, your reply was an instantaneous ‘yes’, to which he replied ‘then yes, it is necessary’

You loved and treasured all of them, multiple shelves throughout your shared flat adorned with the items that reminded you of the fact that he was always being reminded of you wherever he went

It didn’t take very long for Simon to become enamoured with your reactions each time he presented you with his newest find, wondering if whatever he picked out would make you gasp and cover your mouth, make you roll your eyes and smirk, make you laugh and squeeze his arm, each time was a guessing game that had his heart skipping a beat or two in anticipation

Soon enough, he decided he didn’t really need deployments as an excuse to surprise you, or any reason really, other than to see you smile

And so, trips to the supermarket made by Simon alone more often than not began including cupcakes in your favourite flavour

He’d come back from the mailbox and drop a single flower from someone else’s garden onto the table in front of you

Your nearly finished perfumes and lipsticks would magically find themselves replenished

But being Simon, his gifts didn’t always need to be extravagant

On the rarer occasions when he was only on base for a day, he’d often bring you back something simpler, if not sillier, like a paper clip or a sticky note with a terribly drawn doodle he’d stick to your forehead (god forbid he ever bring home a bullet casing, bragging about how he was thinking about you while he practiced shooting loads today-)

Sometimes he’d bring home a book he saw laying around the common room he thought you might enjoy

Other times he might walk into a room and notice you eyeing the hoodie he’s wearing, pulling it over his head without hesitation and offering it to you before you could even think to ask

Most of the time though, Simon was great at bringing home takeaway for dinner, a favourite sight of yours to behold as he walked through the door of the flat

Empty handed or not, so long as he was home with you , you were happy

fuck it here’s some dating firefighter!jason headcanons… there’s one suggestive pick up line at the very end ;(

- He often leaves your shared home in a chaotic state— hair disheveled, shoe laces untied and a piece of toast hanging from his mouth

- However despite his hastiness, Jason never seems to forget to kiss you goodbye. His lips would connect with the plump skin of your cheeks first and then travel to your lips. He’d mutter small a “I’ll see you tonight,” and send you a quick wink before running out the door

- He laughs at your jokes and always continues the bit. If you make a fire joke/pun, you know he’s about to make a million more

- “I don't need a fire alarm to tell me that you're on fire.” “Jay come up with something better please”

- Jason works late at the station, so on days where you have some free time, you bring him a shawarma from his favourite restaurant. He’s always surprised, but so unbelievably happy at the same time. If he’s not too busy, you’ll stay and steal a couple bites of his wrap while he tells you about his day

- He brags about you to his coworkers. Like a lot. They all know you by name and they often tease Jason for not shutting the fuck up, they’re tired of hearing about you (actually they’re just jealous)

- Jason is really protective over you, especially in public spaces. He always has his hand on the small of your back or has your hands interlocked. He guides you through crowds and makes sure to keep close. On the off chance that you’re not near him, his eyes will still be on you. It’s never weird or overbearing though, he’s protective, but he’s not over the top

- he regularly watches crime and law enforcement shows with you and has a habit of pointing out inaccuracies (especially when the fire department’s involved). It’s annoying because he talks a lot, but also, it’s so cute when he gets worked up over the small details

- “The fire escape isn't the only thing I want to go down on.” “JASON WHAT THE FUCK WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT…!! ;)”
