When you should ignore criticism on your creative project:

- When personal opinions are treated as problems with your project (i.e. “I don’t like it so it’s bad”) because it shows that this critic is not coming from a place of good will. You don’t want people who let their personal preferences dictate their objectivity to influence your own feelings on your work

- When the criticism is unconstructive and doesn’t explain how the critic came to their conclusions, because it gives you nothing to go off of to improve and therefore is unhelpful - unhelpful comments can only upset/confuse you and so should not be dwelled on

- When the criticism is unsolicited, because you’re allowed to ignore criticism that wasn’t requested, regardless of whether or not it’s helpful or coming from a good place (outside of anything potentially harmful of course) since it’s purely your own creative project
