PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 145

SCRIPTURE:

The Lord is near all who call out to Him,  all who call out to Him with integrity.  He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry for help and saves them. ~ Psalm 145:18-19 

OBSERVATION:

The Lord is always near... 

All (and all includes me - especially me), who call out to Him with integrity...

Integrity - 

total honesty

whole and undivided

consistent and uncompromising truthfulness

He heard my cry for help and saved me...

...and still hears my cries for help...

...and still saves me...

...when I am totally honest with Him (and He knows already, so... and I know...)

He saved and saves me from my sin, from the enemy, from myself... 

Something I cannot do on my own - despite all the self-help and 12 step programs and books... 

There is only One Person - and it ain't me - and only One Book...

APPLICATION:

Call out to Him...

Be totally honest with Him... 

Consistently give Him my undivided attention and praise...

PRAYER: (Again going back into the Psalm using "edited" verses 1,2,8,9, & 14)

I exalt you, my God and King,  and bless Your name forever and ever.  I will bless You every day;  I will praise Your name forever and ever. You are gracious and compassionate,  slow to anger and great in faithful love.  ...good to everyone; good to me...  Your compassion rests on all You have made. You help me when I stumble and fall; and raise me up when I am oppressed.  In Your Son's Name, and so that You would receive the glory and honor and praise in all things...

For Him... for y'all... and for y'all's...

it’s truly pathetic that someone of their status would give into the lure of physical pleasure rather than remain obedient to the one they vowed to dedicate their life to.

they’re practically begging for god’s wrath, so they at least deserve your sadistic punishments. you touch their skin with your lips and stimulate their carnal desires but they should be constantly reminded of their sacrilege, unable to be fully satisfied.

the chasity device they wear reminds them of their sin that is corrupting them, the feeling of the attached urethra rod emphasizing what a whore they are for submitting to another human when they have a higher purpose of pleasing god.

a lighted candle represents god’s presence, every drop of wax on the priest’s neck and chest feeling like jesus weeps over them, shedding scorching tears for the suffering and divine justice the priest has so readily subjected themselves to.

if they ever hope to redeem themselves, you’ll have to train them to be obedient again. they can start by taking the whole length of your cock into their mouth, cockwarming you as you pray for god to have mercy on them.

their cries of god’s holy name should drown out the creaking of the wooden pew you roughly fuck them against, and their eyes should remain open and fixed upon the alter.

they should beg god to allow them to withstand these trials lest members of their congregation find them fucked dumb and shrouded in the colorful lights of judgement that the stained glass windows cast on the sacred floor of the house of god.

“One of my favorite meals is grilled marinated chicken. Last summer, I looked up the process of marination because I wanted to know what was happening to the food to make it taste so good. Here’s what I discovered.

When you marinate food, usually a protein like chicken, you cover it in an acidic liquid (like vinegar or lemon juice). The acidic liquid breaks down the outer layers of the meat so that the flavorful seasonings can work their way in deeper.

Marination takes time. You can’t just drop a chicken breast in a marinade for a few minutes and expect it to hold the flavor. You have to give the process time to work.

Prayer is Christian marination. Praying with and in the Bible allows us to sit in God’s truth for an extended period in such a way that allows it to break through our outer barriers and “flavor” us beyond what we were capable of becoming on our own.

With this in mind, let me share with you the prayer I say every time I pick up my Bible:

Lord, please open me up to your Word, and open up your Word to me.

This sets the stage in my mind and heart for something to happen during my daily habit. I want to be changed. I want the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word. And I make these intentions clear by voicing this short prayer.

There are (quite literally) hundreds of ways to incorporate prayer into and around your Bible time. For now, I encourage you to try this short prayer and see what changes take place.

Pro-Tip: Do you find yourself frustrated in prayer because you don’t feel like God hears or answers you? Let me give you the advice my pastor gave me: lower your threshold. Most people think that hearing from God is a miraculous, life-altering event. In reality, God and the Holy Spirit are speaking to you every day (and even multiple times per day!). Lowering your threshold means (1) expecting God will speak to you and (2) actively looking for small ways in which He does. You don’t need a burning bush experience to encounter God; sometimes the right song on the radio can accomplish the same thing.”
