Talking kakagai...
Kakashi loves to play small pranks on Gai. His lover is just so straight forward and earnest, that seeing that moment where he realizes he's been punked is just SO funny to Kakashi.
But he absolutely can not stand actual bullying/ mean things being done to Gai. I can see a group of students actively planning a malicious prank when they attended the academy, and asking Kakashi to be in on it, because they thought since Gai "bothers" Kakashi the most, he would love to get some revenge.
Kakashi not only turned the prank around on them, but TRIPLED up the punishment they recieved, and never made it aware he was the one who did it. Those kids became the laughing stock of the academy and Kakashi never let on that he was the 5 year old that ruined their lives.
(And Gai never knew he was ever targeted and kept living his best life.)
Ok honestly, Kakashi’s a rude but to kids (*glares at the genjutsu he put Sakura in day one*) so i can see it
Also he’s so annoyed when people think he’s annoyed by Gai. GAI of all people!? He adores Gai. Gai is the brightest part of his life. His smile makes Kakashi think nothing can go wrong ever again, even just for a little while
How dare anyone think that Gai annoys him
Gai is the least annoying person in all of Konoha 😤😤😤
He’s going to make them pay and Gai is going to scold him for going that hard on the kids, but he does not care
Anyone who says Gai annoys him deserves it

Throught The Looking Glass Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Kakashi goes on a mission and has to leave Faith behind.
Tumblr media
Read on Ao3
Over the next few weeks, I was trained heavily from before dawn to after midnight on Jonin tactics and Anbu strategies to include hand to hand combat-taijutsu, kenjutsu-sword wielding, ninjutsu-chakra nature wielding, genjutsu-control others cerebral chakra flow. I excelled at everything. I have never had innate talent; I have always had to work hard. Kakashi thinks it is in relation to my 15 years of study he calls it. He says, even though at the time it was a past time or for enjoyment, I memorized the teaching, the chakra natures, summoning Panzer, everything.
I think part of him working me into the ground is so that I become too exhausted to hold a conversation. I am passed out by the time he comes to bed yet every morning I still wake up to him holding me like a lifeline.
Tonight is my first night off, Kakashi had a mission all day and is supposed to be back tonight. My training was a bit off as I was worried. Everything is different now that I am here, there is no script. I don’t know what to expect.
I caught a senbon aimed at my head and threw it right back and Genma caught it with his mouth as if it was nothing.
“I bet you can do all sorts of naughty things with that mouth of yours.” I said, catching him off guard.
He looked me in the face, he didn’t know if I was flirting with him, he knows I am off limits per Kakashi but he doesn’t know why I am off limits. Kakashi has never had anyone he cares for intimately; he knows we live together under a matter of circumstances per Hokage’s orders Kakashi keeps saying. I say nothing one way or the other. That alone wouldn’t make me off limits.
I could see him calculating his next remark and thoughts as he tried to figure us out. He was wide open. I came up behind him from under the ground and had my tanto to his throat. I released my shadow clone.
“We’re done.” I said. I started walking away.
“That was a dirty trick.” He grumbled.
“Ninjas use dirty tricks Genma.” I rolled my eyes and sheathed my tanto.
“I am trying to figure you out. Why are you off limits? Exactly where are you from, you don’t look like you’re from here.” He said.
“No shit genius, I never said I was.” I said.
“Then how are you a leaf shinobi?” He asked.
“Why do I have to explain your own… excuse me, our countries politics to you. I emigrated dumbass.” I said.
“From where?”
“Around. Stop trying to dig, if it was something that mattered Kakashi would have told you.” I said.
“Hmm, why do you live with him?” He asked.
“Why indeed.” I stated while rolling my eyes.
I didn’t confirm or deny anything. That should get him off my back. He kept following me and I didn’t answer any of his questions. My guess is Kakashi threatened his life if anything happened to me. I walked into Anbu headquarters, the general public is not really allowed however, I am being trained so I am here rather often as of late. I made it to the mission desk.
“Is Kakashi back yet?” They checked the roster.
“He was due back two hours ago, he has not checked in yet.” They said.
“Alright, thanks.” I turned to Genma. “Let’s check the front gates see if he checked in.” I took off running. Kakashi wouldn’t leave me waiting and my life in someone else’s hand if he could help it. I could sense something was wrong. We reached the front gate and they said he hadn’t come back yet.
“Let’s go.” I said.
“We need permission to leave the village.” He said.
“We aren’t leaving the village. We are going back to the apartment.” I said. I took off running and he followed. I sent my chakra out calling Panzer. He was at my side. “Find him and don’t get spotted, stay with him if he’s injured. Stay in the shadows if there’s a fight.” I said. Panzer shunshin.
We go inside.
“You swore an oath to your Hokage, I have not.” I said. “I am getting him; you can come with or not.”
“We can get permission it won’t take long.”
“You wanted to know what makes me so damn special. Well, here’s your chance.” That stopped him in his tracks. He turned around.
I released the tension that holds back whatever gives me the ability to form portals to Kakashi and with Kakashi. I have not been able to do it under any other circumstance. We have tried cultivating it a few times but there have been other pressing concerns. It got placed on the back burner.
Wind started flowing through the apartment. I pulled out my tanto to be ready. I could feel Genma entering a defensive stance. The wall in front of us turned fuzzy and became clear. Kakashi passed out, bleeding out on the floor of the forest. Panzer next to him, in a defensive stance. I held my hand back as Genma went to move.
“There is incoming to finish him off and they will see us. I want them dead. I will heal Kakashi, and you will kill anyone that comes, got it?”
“My pleasure.” He grinned with the senbon sticking out of his mouth.
“40 meters. Three chakra signatures. Panzer, through the portal no discussion.” He went. I closed it.
I started healing him right away. My healing is different than that of the traditional shinobi, I don’t have glowing chakra, it’s faster and repairs, revitalizes and makes the tissue almost brand new. They closed in and I trusted Genma at our backs. He’s amazing in battle, however, these ninja to take on Kakashi must be incredible, or something is fishy. I finished and Kakashi came to.
“We have to stop meeting like this.” I said with a lopsided smile. “You good?”
“Yeah.” He flexed and went on the defensive.
“Report.” I said.
“They appeared out of nowhere, much like your portal. Several of them are dead, the one who conjured the portal is gone.” He said.
There it is, that fishiness. I thought.
“I don’t like this.” I said.
“Genma, fall back.” I said.
He had taken two down and appeared at my side. The other ninja took off once he saw me and Kakashi up and ready. I memorized his chakra signature. I will have to figure out this portal thing.
“I have his chakra signature. We let him go and hope they keep him alive long enough to find out where they are. We need to get back.” We opted for running back to the village in case we were being watched. I did not want anything to slip through the Leaf’s defenses.
We checked in at the gate and Izumo and Kotetsu said we never left. I said, ‘that’s right. We didn’t.’ That was the end of that.
Panzer had already informed the Hokage of the issue in case we needed back up. He was so worried. I love that boy. Our report was uneventful, Kakashi never made it to his mission. He was ambushed where we found him. He wasn’t the target, but they needed him to be alive. If I am the target, why? Would it be to study me? I didn’t see Sound Village headbands. Was it Pain?
I was sitting in bed mulling over in my head, this is new territory. I have no answers.
Kakashi came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist.
“I don’t know if I thanked you the first time either or this time but thank you.” He said.
“Always.” I said, blushing. “My abilities are just a product of your teachings, mostly. Is this my thank you gift?” I chuckled jokingly waving in his direction.
He said nothing but came to bed. I watched him like a hawk, every movement, every ripple of muscle. The expressionless expression on his face that told me everything and nothing. He leaned down over me towering over me inches from my face. My heart beating in my throat. Even with a fresh shower he smells of the forest after a rain. He took in a sniff and leaned closer. I placed a hand on his hard chest. I bit my lower lip to stifle a moan.
“My point still stands.” I said. He brushed my hair to the side as he started kissing my neck. I pushed him back to look at him. “Once I taste you, I won’t get enough. I’ll need you all the time.” I said. “My body aches for you as it is.” I stated, practically out of breath. “Once I let you inside of me, you’re mine. All of you.” I said looking into his eyes.
“I need you. I must taste you. I have been smelling your scent next to me for a month now. Waking up hard with you in my arms with no relief. I am going crazy. I need to fill you.” I bit my lip.
“Then do you accept my terms?” I asked.
He took a deep breath.
“You already know the answer.” He said.
“Say it.” I demand.
“I want you and only you. I want to be the only one you taste, the only one who you think about, the only one who gets to feel and see your body, be inside of you. It will happen now or later, but you belong to me.” He said.
My lips crashed into him, and I was soaking through my panties. He backed up from the kiss and scented the air. He lowered his head to my clothed nipple and started to suck and bite gently.
“You don’t have to be gentle with me Kakashi, I can tell how you like it and I want it just as you and I have fantasized. I won’t break.” I said.
He let off a primal moan, more of a groan and a growl.
“We have all night. I am going to take my time with you until we are both exhausted and your throat hurts from screaming my name and taking me in that pretty little mouth.” My hips ground into his knee and he pushed back. I moaned. He ripped my shirt off and started to work on my other nipple.
“I don’t want to go slow this first time. We can go slow later!” I ripped off his towel to see his glory before me. It was long and thick, held heavy and strained for release. I licked my lips and ground into him again. He pinned me to the bed with my hands above my head and sealed his lips over mine. Our tongues fought for dominance, neither of us winning the dance, but just tasting each other. I could feel him slide my panties to the side, he was kind enough not to rip these as I brought them from home.
“Please Kakashi.” I looked at him and his sharingan was open. He’s memorizing this moment. I blushed. He took his index finger and dragged in slowly along my folds collecting my feminine honey, dripping from his finger he shoved his finger in my mouth, and I sucked it clean. Tasting myself on him was something special I did not anticipate, very erotic.
Before I could completely swallow, he kissed me, drinking me out of my mouth. He’s as much as a deviant as I am, I should have known with him reading porn in public. He pulled back to watch as he entered a finger inside of me and his thumb rubbed sloppy circles across my clit. It wasn’t going to take long for me to go.
“Ohh my god, you feel so good.” I moaned and thrust at him.  I was about to come and then like a cold shower I could feel an unusual presence and shot up with Kakashi still inside of me. “What is that?” I asked.
“Foreplay?” He said. “No, I feel someone…” Before I could finish my sentence, I was transported somewhere else, and I lost the feeling of Kakashi. “You.” I said.

Agitated
Another KakaSaku one shot because why the hell not?  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
While out eating dinner, Kakashi noticed that Sakura was too quiet even while Naruto, Shikamaru, and Kiba were bantering loudly across the table.
Sakura was not even eating her food. She was just pushing bits and pieces of meat around her plate, looking detached and uninterested despite the food being her absolute favorite. Kakashi was suddenly tense, and it doubled over when he saw Sakura look up and then silently stood before slipping away unnoticed by everyone, except him.
He waited a few minutes before deftly following after her.
Outside, Kakashi found Sakura standing on the small bridge that arched over a tiny stream. She was frowning and looking as though she was in deep thought.
Slowly, Kakashi made his way to her, having this strong urge to comfort her. He didn't mean to, but Sakura was startled when Kakashi finally spoke from behind.
The Copy-nin didn't beat around the bush and asked her straight on what was bothering her. At first Sakura appeared apprehensive, almost embarrassed. But Kakashi was gentle, coaxing, and persistent. Finally, Sakura relented.
"Kakashi-sensei, I really... I mean there's this boy that I'm seeing... and he was... well, he wanted us to..."
Kakashi watched Sakura's face turn redder with growing anxiety. In the back of his head, he already had a hunch of where this was going, and he could already feel something sinister stir within him.
Sakura gazed at him before looking away again as she fumbled for words. With a deep, steadying breath she murmured, "Sensei, I like this guy, I do. But I'm not... I don't want to be just his... his one night stand."
Sakura's voice had dropped so low that normal people would have had no chance of hearing. But with Kakashi's extraordinary hearing, the words were not lost to him. In fact, to the Copy-nin, they sounded as clear as though Sakura had spoken them directly into his ear.
Kakashi's reaction was immediate.
He felt his fingers curl into tight fists, his chest constricting with mixed shock and anger, and he could even feel his covered sharingan eye swirling behind its confines.
He was feeling these emotions for a variety of reasons. One would be that Sakura's statement had suddenly opened up his eyes that his once childish ex-student was no longer a child, but a young woman. Proof of that was this sleazy scumbag trying to bed her, and he was not in any way or form prepared to accept the fact that Sakura was now grown. Another reason would be that he hated seeing how distressed Sakura looked. There was no question in his mind that she was as appalled as he was to know that someone wants her in his bed, and not even permanently within the honorable standard, but just for one night as though Sakura was some loose woman. A third reason would be Kakashi being angry at himself for not looking after her as well as he should have.
Trying to control his emotions, Kakashi made his way to Sakura until he was right in front of her. Very gently, he placed a finger on her chin and tilted her face up so he could look into her eyes.
While his eyes were full of controlled rage, hers were filled with confusion and hurt. It was all he could do not to crush her in his arms and soothe all her worries away. Something told him it was a bit overboard, but for the moment he ignored it. Nothing was important but to make Sakura feel well again.
"Sakura, you don't have to be his one night stand, whoever the hell he is, or anybody else's for that matter. You know that, right?"
Sakura swallowed and sniffed, the corner of her eyes were suspiciously moist. "I know, sensei. But he made me feel so... wanted. I've never felt that way before, not even with Sasuke, ever. It was... it actually felt... good."
Kakashi's eyes darkened. "And what did he say? That since he's being so good to you and treating you right, you should return the favor?" He asked bluntly, his tone curt.
Ashamed, Sakura bit her lip. She wanted to bow her head again, to hide from his piercing gaze, but his finger under her chin prevented her from doing so. Instead, Sakura could only avert her eyes and slowly nod her head.
Kakashi hissed something under his breath, something Sakura didn't catch. As she finally had the courage to stare at her ex-sensei, she was suddenly struck at how serious Kakashi looked at that moment. She never thought he'd take her plight seriously, but one look at him was enough to convince Sakura that Kakashi was as invested as she was in this dilemma, maybe even more so. And that only added to her confusion. She never expected him to react so strongly, as though he cared for her deeply.
Something tugged at her heart at her last train of thought. Did Kakashi really care about her?
"This guy," Kakashi said through gritted teeth. "Do I know him?" Kami, Kakashi thought. What if he did know the guy? What if it was one of Konoha's teams? He couldn't imagine beating someone he knew to a pulp, but if it was for Sakura, he wouldn't mind getting even. In fact, just thinking that it was one of their own that propositioned Sakura like a prostitute was more than enough of a conviction Kakashi needed.
Sakura was watching Kakashi closely. Something in his voice sounded dangerous; ominous. She had never heard of that from Kakashi before. She was suddenly afraid to answer. Now she was finally aware of how his eyes had darkened and how she could feel his rage radiating off his body in waves. She became afraid to say anything lest she push him over the edge.
She didn't want to put him in trouble, or compromise his position as a respected ninja. She should have known better than let him know of her stupid problem. She was being a burden again, and Sakura wanted to hit herself repeatedly in the head.
As though reading her mind, Kakashi let her chin go, but only to grasp both of her shoulders and make her face him fully while bending his body to her level so his one visible eye remained locked on hers.
"I need to know who this guy is, Sakura," Kakashi said earnestly. "I promise I won't mindlessly hunt him and kill him." He added jokingly after seeing the look on her face, but Sakura was not fooled.
"Sensei, just forget about him." Sakura said weakly, knowing full well Kakashi wouldn't listen. If there was something she knew about her ex-sensei for certain, it was the fact that he was as stubborn as an ox.
Kakashi only stared at her, silently. Surprisingly not being pushy. It made her more nervous than when he would have insisted on knowing. Silence on the Copy-nin was never a good thing, because it can only mean one of two things: He had given up, or he had already planned something out.
By the way Kakashi gave him a small smile, she knew it was the latter.
Sakura's eyes widen at that. Oh, kami, no. What have I done?

No your deffenatly on to somthing
Kakashi didn't care much abt anyones gifts but holding his hands out for obito
Rin get's abductted " obito no we need to follow the rules " obito leaves to save rin and kakashi goes after him
Kakashi 100% didn't want obito to get hurt the same way
I’m looking back at Kakashi saying “you don’t understand what happens to those who don’t follow the rules” and wondering if Kakashi cared more deeply for Obito than Obito would ever truly comprehend. Maybe I’m seeing things through my shipper lens but this line immediately changed my view on his motive for how harshly he treated Obito.
Every single time Obito did something against the rules, Kakashi scolded him like a teacher, directly in front of their actual teacher most times as well which is quite funny in an ironic way. Kakashi was always reprimanding him, always telling him to follow the rules, and was even hard on Minato — and Rin especially, — for being too forgiving of Obito and his tardiness. He really, really wanted Obito to break his bad habits and follow the rules. But why? If he didn’t care, the failings of his teammates wouldn’t concern him. Yes, you could say Kakashi was simply annoyed by these habits and concerned that Obito’s lack of obedience would drag them down on missions. But we see in the scene where Minato tells Obito about Kakashi’s past that Kakashi’s attitude toward the rules stemmed from the trauma of losing his father, and this was sort of reaffirmed in a much later episode when a young Kakashi visits his father's grave.
Kakashi vows to obey the rules, because in his eyes, if Sakumo had done just that, he would still be alive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At first, it seemed like Obito merely annoyed and inconvenienced him with his dismissive attitude towards the rules, and that he and Obito were so different “like oil and water” that this was simply a part of how they clashed naturally, and that was why Kakashi adopted the role of his chastiser. But I don’t think that was the case. Obito’s rivalry with Kakashi was somewhat (if not entirely) one-sided and Kakashi didn’t indulge in it at all, nor did he show any desire to engage with it. Any other time he did butt heads with Obito, it seemed like Obito was almost always the one provoking him. Obito was the main initiator.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the one thing Kakashi was extremely pressed on was making sure Obito obeyed the rules. This boy was practically hounding Obito like an angry mom. And again, for what purpose?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that deep down, Kakashi wanted to protect Obito from the fate he probably thought inevitable for someone as careless as he was. Why else would he be so adamant about convincing Obito to follow the rules and change his ways? As far as Kakashi knew, those who disobeyed the rules died one way or another. I think Kakashi cared for Obito far more deeply than he was willing to admit and I think the only person that saw this was possibly Minato, who urged Obito to try and understand Kakashi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
........or mayhaps I’m reading too deeply into it ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ. But to me Kakashi’s warning “do you know what happens to those who break the rules?” was always secretly followed by an unspoken “because I don’t want that to happen to you”.
In the end, I think Kakashi did not fear what would happen to him if he broke the rules. He feared what would happen to the person he cared for most if they did.

love the idea of obito living after the war and he’s assigned to kakashi’s guard as a type of “community service” and people will pass them in a store and obito is grumbling about how he should’ve killed kakashi, the hokage, when he had a chance and kakashi blithely points out that obito’s has had SEVERAL opportunities to kill him over the last several years. but all the villagers hear is the crazy mass murderer war criminal telling their hokage he wants to kill him and kakashi just :3 *shrugs* because if obito wanted to kill him, he would have.

Between Shadows and Light - Kakashi x Reader (Pt 1)
I'm trying something new, and I am feeling nostalgic. Do tell me how I'm doing?
Part 2
In the aftermath of the Uchiha massacre, Y/N finds herself grappling with loss, duty, and an unexpected connection with Kakashi Hatake. As she cares for Sasuke and navigates her feelings for the enigmatic Copy Ninja, their bond deepens amidst missions, village gossip, and unresolved emotions. But with Sasuke’s protectiveness and Itachi’s shadow looming over them, can Y/N truly find love and normalcy, or is her heart forever tied to the past?
masterlist
Tumblr media
The soft hum of the cicadas filled the warm summer evening, blending with the crackling of a small fire in the yard of a modest home on the outskirts of Konoha. Y/N Uchiha sat cross-legged near the flames, her dark eyes reflecting the light as she meticulously sharpened a kunai. She was surrounded by an air of calm, but her thoughts were far from peaceful.
The massacre haunted her every waking moment. Every shadow seemed to whisper the names of her kin, every quiet moment echoed with their cries. She'd agreed to take care of Sasuke, but her own grief felt like a relentless weight. The truth Itachi had confided to her before leaving—the burden he'd carried, the impossible choice he'd made—was both a curse and a mercy. She couldn't hate him, even though she desperately wanted to.
She had just returned from a simple mission that morning, and had arrived later than expected, she knew her parents would be angry. When she stepped into the compound her thoughts vanished. The first thing she saw? Itachi, holding a Kunai in his anbu uniform. Blood, bodies.... "Itachi...." he turned to her carefully, tears in his eyes. He walked to her, and fell on his knees. He told her everything, in turn he asked for two things: Take care of Sasuke, and never tell anyone what he shared with her. With that, he was gone. He had meant the world to her, as young as she was, Itachi was the love of her life.
A sudden knock at the door shattered the stillness. Y/N tensed, kunai at the ready, before she remembered herself. Few dared to venture out to her home, and fewer still would come without warning. She set the weapon down and rose cautiously, brushing the dust from her hands as she approached the door.
When she opened it, Kakashi Hatake stood there, his mask hiding much of his face but not the exhaustion in his visible eye. His slouched posture and the faint sag of his shoulders spoke of battles fought, both on and off the field.
"Kakashi," she said, surprise coloring her tone. "What are you doing here?"
He hesitated, one hand resting on the doorframe as if it were the only thing keeping him upright. "I need your help," he said simply.
Y/N's brows furrowed. She stepped aside, gesturing for him to enter. "Come in," she said softly, her earlier wariness replaced by concern.
Kakashi stepped into the modest home, his gaze sweeping over the sparse but functional interior. He didn't sit, though, remaining near the entrance like he didn't belong.
She crossed her arms, leaning against the wall. "What kind of help are we talking about?"
Kakashi's hand moved to his headband, fingers hesitating for the briefest moment before pulling it up. The red glow of the Sharingan in his left eye was sharp against his pale skin, but there was a faint tremble in the lid. "This," he said.
She held back to ask where he had gotten it, thinking back to the relationships he had with Obito before he died.
Y/N's lips parted in surprise. She hadn't seen the Sharingan outside her clan, ever, to be fair she was just 14 when the clan disappeared. Her gaze softened. "You're struggling to control it," she deduced, stepping closer.
He gave a short nod. "It drains me faster than I can keep up. It’s… not mine"
There was a heaviness in his voice that she recognized all too well. Loss. Guilt. A desperate need to honor the dead in a way that only the living could.
"Does anyone know you have this?" He hesitated for a second and looked away, the insinuation was clear. No.
"I can only teach you what I know, which isn't all" He nodded and accepted what she could give.
She inhaled deeply, her mind already racing with the lessons she'd been taught as a child. "Sit down," she instructed, motioning toward a cushion. When he hesitated, she gave him a pointed look. "You came to me for help, so let me help."
Kakashi complied, lowering himself with a stiffness that came from too many missions and too little rest. She sat across from him, her dark eyes locking onto his mismatched gaze.
"The Sharingan..." she began carefully. "It requires more than just physical energy—it takes something deeper. Something you need to learn to balance." Her tone softened. "I can teach you, but it won't be easy."
"I didn't expect it to be," he replied quietly.
For a moment, neither spoke. The weight of their respective losses filled the room like an unspoken truth, pressing against them both. Finally, Y/N broke the silence.
"Why now?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why come to me after everything? You could've gone to the elders when they were still alive"
Kakashi's gaze flickered, the Sharingan fading as he let his headband fall back into place. "Because I thought I could handle it on my own," he admitted. "Besides, you understand where this came from."
Her heart twisted at his words. She knew exactly what he meant, and she hated how true it was. They were both haunted by the past, bound by love and loss in ways no one else could comprehend.
She reached out, placing a hand lightly on his. "We'll figure it out together," she said firmly.
For the first time that evening, a faint smile touched Kakashi's lips, hidden though it was behind his mask. "Thank you," he said simply.
As the fire outside burned low and the night deepened, the two found a strange solace in each other’s presence. Neither dared to say it aloud, but for the first time in a long while, neither felt entirely alone.
Years Later
The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden glow over the dirt path as Kakashi and his newly assigned Team 7 made their way back to the village after a routine patrol. Naruto was complaining loudly about the lack of excitement, Sakura was scolding him, and Sasuke trailed behind, his expression as unreadable as ever. Kakashi, walking ahead, tuned out the bickering and kept an eye on their surroundings—until he saw a familiar silhouette approaching in the distance.
Y/N Uchiha.
She was returning from a mission, her travel-worn cloak dusted with dirt and her weapons pouch slightly askew. Despite the weariness in her step, her gaze was sharp, and the faintest smirk tugged at her lips when she spotted the group.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" she teased as she stopped in front of them, her eyes immediately seeking out Sasuke. "You’ve got yourself a squad now, huh?"
"Y/N," Sasuke greeted with his usual detached tone, though there was a flicker of warmth in his eyes.
"Wait, you know her?" Naruto asked, pointing at her dramatically. "Who is she?"
Sakura, more composed, bowed slightly. "It’s nice to meet you. I’m Sakura Haruno."
Y/N’s gaze softened as she regarded them, then flicked over to Kakashi, who stood silently watching her with his usual aloof demeanor. She grinned, mischief sparking in her eyes. "I’m Y/N Uchiha, Sasuke’s... clan mat and," —she nodded toward Kakashi—"I’m the reason they call him the Copy Ninja."
Naruto’s jaw dropped. "What? No way! You mean you taught him how to do that crazy stuff?"
Kakashi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Don’t give her too much credit."
"Oh, please," Y/N shot back, her grin widening. "If it weren’t for me, you’d still be trying to figure out which end of a kunai to hold." Y/N shrugged, a playful glint in her eyes. "He was hopeless on his own. Let’s just say he’s lucky I took pity on him."
"Now you’re exaggerating," Kakashi interjected, though his tone was more resigned than annoyed.
"You’re just mad because it’s true," Y/N teased, crossing her arms and tilting her head at him. "Anyway, I’m guessing this is your new team? Good luck—you’ll need it, especially with this one." She nodded toward Sasuke, who just scoffed.
Sasuke cleared his throat, clearly ready for the conversation to end. "Are you heading back to the village?"
"Yeah," Y/N replied, her tone softening. "Mission's done, and I’ve got reports to file. I’ll see you at home later."
As she turned to leave, she paused and glanced over her shoulder at Kakashi. "You’ve got your hands full with these kids, but don’t slack off on them. They deserve the best, Copy Ninja."
Kakashi raised a hand in lazy acknowledgment, though a faint smile tugged at the corner of his masked mouth.
"She’s awesome!" Naruto declared as they continued walking. "I didn’t know you had someone like her in your clan, Sasuke!"
"She’s annoying," Sasuke muttered, though his tone lacked any real bite.
Kakashi, watching the interplay, found himself smiling faintly under his mask. Y/N had a way of livening up the quiet moments, her banter leaving an impression long after she was gone. Though her words had been playful, the truth in them lingered. She had been his guide through a part of his life he wouldn’t have navigated alone, and for that, he would always be quietly grateful.

Gai has plummeted from the sky exactly twice in canon, one was his fall after releasing the 8th gate. A serene acceptance of his own end. And the second was off the Tobisachimaru, where Kakashi caught him and they fell hand in hand. Kakashis Story (the book) opens up to Gai I think at his most honest, he is childish and selfish and desperate. He threatens Lee into getting him on a flying boat for absolutely no reason, other than to feel the importance of being one of the first Shinobi to be on it. He is striving for a significance the universe stole from him by allowing him to leave past his prime, his moment with Madara where he was no longer human; but God. Kakashi has spent the entire novel not scrutinizing, but pitying Gai for a lack of understanding of what they have left. But Kakashi, who has lived in the past for nearly his whole life, is met with a woman who lives in that same war; who’s leaking grief out onto Kakashi the entire novel. In a moment of her exposition, her; the embodiment of past, weeping before Kakashi, Gai is falling off the boat. A descent into oblivion; an oblivion he wants but was denied. And Kakashi cannot care about the war or the woman or the past, all he does is jump after Gai. And hold his hand. It is by outside, coincidental forces (Sai, on a bird.) that either survive. Kakashi refused Gai to descend into oblivion alone.
This novel is also the first instance of Kakashi being relevant with both of his eyes. I like to think it’s them falling together that Gai really understands that this is the first time he’s looked into Kakashi’s eyes since adolescence.

Listen. I don't think Kakashi and Iruka ever actively hated/disliked one another. Even early in the series it's pretty apparent they have a normal level of respect and are quite civil a lot of the time they just also happen to Disagree on some key things [namely: chuunin exam incident]
That being said however I think the funniest reason for them not to like one another as kids is if Iruka took one look at Pakkun's little pug self and said "man you're an ugly little fuck aren't'cha?" and Kakashi was so enraged and offended on his dog's behalf he declared Iruka his enemy forever and Iruka has no idea why Hound/Kakashi is such a snit with him but he's like "well two can play at this game" and now they're sniping back and forth for years
And Iruka is Convinced Hound/Kakashi is just an arrogant arsehole with no manners and then one day he sees a very familiar pug in Kakashi's arms on a bench or something and is like. Oh god no. I insulted his fucking dog. No wonder he doesn't like me
Cue the most awkward and embarrassing apology ever because Kakashi refuses to accept anything but the best for his dogs and yes he does make Iruka apologise to Pakkun directly even though Pakkun has absolutely no memory of ever being insulted at all [but then Iruka offers to cook for them and Pakkun folds faster than origami]

Chapter 1
I just finished picking up the keys for my new house as the closing date finally arrived. I had signed and it was bittersweet. What should have been a joyous occasion will be etched into my brain as a somber one as I came directly from my father’s funeral, right before that was my eldest and only sister’s funeral and her one-year-old son, my nephew. My father’s car was struck by a drunk driver driving down the wrong way on the highway and they were passengers, and they were killed on impact. I have been told life goes on, which it does, I guess.
As I pulled into my new driveway in my red sedan, the movers behind me. I climbed up the three steps on the faded wood steps to the four-bedroom two-story single-family home with white aluminum siding paint needs redone of course. I opened the screen door and it fell off the top hinges and I look at it lay off-kilter, ‘Can anything just go right?’ I think to myself. I unlock the heavy wooden green door with paint chipping in various places and open it so the movers can bring my things in.
“Ma’am!” One of the movers calls out to me.
“Yes?” I sigh.
“We wanted to let you know in transport, that some of your things have been lost.” He winces no doubt used to being yelled at. “He continues, it looks like it is some clothing items, kitchen boxes, living room boxes. We were unable to locate so we have written you a check.” He hands me the check. I took it from him and walked away.
I guess the answer is no, nothing will go right. The universe wants me to suffer for some misdeed in my past life or something.
“Just put everything in the house please.” I say and go on about the walkthrough. The house is in the middle of nowhere Ohio, middle of nowhere was my preference, Ohio, not so much, I moved closer to my sister to help her with my nephew. She worked on a military base, and we were going to be living together, her husband left her for someone a little, younger and bigger chested. She wasn’t bothered by that. She loved her son so much nothing else mattered. I work from home as a Network Engineer, it doesn’t matter where I am as long as the internet connection is viable.
The wood floors are original oak, just need refinished and sealed. The paneling must go. The kitchen needs redone, the cabinets aren’t even salvageable, they are the original 1950s style. I want to go more modern. As I continued to walk from room to room with my thoughts, I found myself in the basement. I heard the movers yell they were finished, and they left. I looked around, I had a modern washer and dryer left in the dusty basement. There are no cracks in the foundation, it doesn’t smell moist or musty one of the reasons I bought the place it is in great shape, one owner just needs updated. I go back upstairs to go into my car and bring my tools out of my car, my dad always told me when moving keep the important things in your car, so they don’t get lost wonderful advice Dad.
I moved everything from the car into the house, my tools, desktop, monitors, laptop, video game consoles, books and huge first aid kit. I felt a vibration from my pocket and pulled out my phone to answer.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Panzer is all done from his groom. He was a very good boy. Did you want to come get him or would you be needing him dropped off there is an extra fee for that?” The groomer asked.
“Oh! I would love if you could bring him to me.” I replied.
“That is out of our normal service range we will have to charge mileage if that’s ok?” The groomer clarified.
“I will pay whatever.” I stated exhausted with today’s events.
“Ok great. We’ll be there in thirty to forty-five minutes.” I ended the call.
What a lifesaver. ‘I feel like such a horrible mom. Where are his bowls?’ I thought to myself.
I headed to the car to look. “They must have fallen under seat.” I mumbled. Reaching under the seat I found what I was looking for.
“AH HA!” I exclaimed excitedly that something is finally going a bit right.
I brought it in and set up his dishes. The food is in one of the kitchen boxes. If it is not there, I will just order takeout and we will eat together, no big deal.
I decided to take my tools and first aid kit to the basement and get started. I want to keep my mind busy, and off everything. It takes me two trips to get everything down the flight of stairs and set up. The horrible fluorescent lights turned on and my large toolbox opened and organized everything I need out. I get my wireless speaker paired to my phone with my loudest emo music playing and I head back upstairs as I know Panzer is about to be dropped off.
I met the groomer at the front door with the tip and I thank him and said our goodbyes. I close the door and take off the harness and toss it haphazardly to the side. Panzer is so excited but weary as this is a new place.
“Hi baby boy. Did you miss Mama?” I lean down to give him kisses on his big white nose. I have had German Shepherds my whole life, but he has been the biggest and it always seems as if he knows what I need before I even do. I’d be lost without him. “Let’s go downstairs Big Man, this is our new home we need to fix it up. We are going to be here a while.” He followed you without question as you went to work downstairs.
The music continued as I picked up the crowbar and went where I left off on the far wall to start prying off the hideously dated paneling. It was easy to do, the glue they used to attach it was barely holding and only two nails per piece. It didn’t take long. I felt like I had a rhythm going and was on the last piece of this wall. Excited to have started something and getting close to completing a segment had me reeling.
The piece I finished prying hit the ground and Panzer started flipping out. I immediately turned to look at him and he wasn’t looking at me. His nose was in the air, and he was sniffing, his hackles were in the air, and he was growling.
“Panzer, what’s wrong?!” I asked worried. I have never seen this behavior in him. His eyes shot at me and he suddenly moved between me and the wall. This confused me more.
‘I have never seen him like this.’ I thought perplexed. It was just a concrete wall.
I continued to stare at the wall and that’s when the air shifted. As if someone opened a door. Wind blowing through the basement. I looked around confused, the windows are glass blocks, this house was built in the 1950s, the windows don’t open yet there is wind in the basement. I felt my heart beating faster as clearly something is amiss and Panzer sensed it well before you.
The concrete wall swirled and looked blurry and translucent at the same time almost like an old TV set when the signal is not clear, but I can sort of make out a picture but not quite. Just as soon as the wind started it suddenly stopped and the walls picture cleared up. It’s a forest, and there is a small clearing with six trees, three on the left and three on the right. In the center of the trees is a man, he is very close to where I am, and I can make him out. I am not sure if he can see me.
Once, I see the man I realize I have finally fucking snapped. I see him bleeding, he is pale, he has his trademark silver spiked hair like in the show and books. He’s in his jōnin blues and his green vest is almost tattered. His leg is injured, and he’s got a huge gash in his torso. This is all I can make out as Panzer starts to growl. I look up and there is incoming. Six ANBU and they are not of the Hidden Leaf Village. I felt my legs running towards him and that’s when he could see me. He threw what looked to be his last kunai at me and I dodged it. Holy shit he must be dying.
“Kakashi, we have to go, or you will die here.” He looked startled, he doesn’t know who I am, and I don’t blame him. “Six ANBU closing in.” He looks and I can see him calculating. “Shit we don’t have time for this. Panzer!” Panzer jumped through the gate and growled at Kakashi and herded him towards the gate. He stumbled and fell, and I grabbed him by his vest and pulled him through as soon as we were all through the gate closed.
I looked right where my head was, and a kunai stopped right in the concrete at head level. I looked down at Kakashi and he passed out. Shit. Even if this is a hallucination, there still is a chance that this could be real so I will do what I would do in that instance. I need to help him.
I grabbed my first aid kit, gloved up and got to work. There is so much blood fresh, dried and dirt. I can’t salvage the vest. I ripped it off the shirt must go as well. I had to cut through it to get to the wound. I grabbed a roll of paper towels that were within reach and applied pressure to get the wound to stop bleeding. I leaned on it with my knee and while that was working to stop the bleeding, I started cleaning the wound on his leg. My bet is some kind of poison. I don’t know what it is.
“Panzer, stand here. Stay.” Panzer took my place applying pressure. I ran upstairs to my kitchen boxes, I unpacked and frantically looked for the vinegar. I found it in the third box, I remember seeing it. Glad this one didn’t get lost.
I ran back downstair and took over. I poured the vinegar on the open leg wound. No movement. It wasn’t as deep as it could have been but deep enough. I placed some butterfly bandages on it and patched it up. I removed the paper towels and there wasn’t too much blood, the gash is about an inch deep, nothing in there and my guess again some kind of poison got the best of him. I did the same thing, cleaned the wound with vinegar, hoping it would neutralize the poison. I can’t take him to a hospital, shit he’s survived worse. Plus, I know he lives…. unless… Ok none of that. I grabbed the surgical staple gun, removed it from the sterile package and placed four staples in him. Thank God he didn’t move or wake up. That would have been terrifying. Now the I.V. for fluids, I placed an I.V. quickly in his right arm and hung the saline turned the manual drip all the way up. My sister used to always joke that I was prepared for anything. Too bad I was never prepared to lose her.
I turned the music off now that the adrenaline had worn off. I went upstairs and got a pillow and a blanket to try and make him comfortable and to stare at him. I can’t believe this is happening. I needed to keep myself grounded and understand this was real and not a hallucination plus I didn’t want him to take off in this world and panic.
I placed a cool wet cloth on his forehead to help with his slight fever, it wasn’t much my guess it had to do with his body fighting off the poison. Several hours had passed and not much change. He got some color back in his face. Panzer refused to leave my side, so I fed him down here and I have seen him hold his bowels for 48 hours he is fine with this.
I gloved up and started to redress his abdomen wound. It looks clean, not bleeding through, and he seems to be healing at a decent pace; I wonder if that has to do with chakra, I thought. I noticed Panzer stand up abruptly and come next to me quickly. He made a little growl, Kakashi must be coming to. I hurried and dressed the wound to put some distance between us.

yeah, your body moving automatically to save someone is good and all, but have you considered the inherent love required to see what’s about to happen, to know what will happen to you if you save them, and to do it anyway, because even though it might kill you, they’ll survive, and in the end that matters far more, because they’re worth it, in the end?
Yes, this post is about Kakaobi.

Kakashi telling Gai that orders are absolute but saving your friends in defiance of orders is admirable and then immediately thinking to himself “I have to take care of him” while he looks Gai in the eyes, brother you are GAY
