eggman got a double win by allowing sonic to act on his normal personality and protect the badniks at scrap brain btw cuz like yes it will save him time and money and resources from not having to replace them all the time anymore but also because if he forced sonic to stand there and do nothing while those little guys got hurt/broken/etc then let's just say sonic would have set a new world record speedrun for clawing his way out of empire programming
#i implied this. with how hard he was fighting against saying 'sorry' for#protecting the motobug#and how his processors were whirring like crazy from the internal conflict right up until#eggman said yes actually he SHOULD protect the badniks. that it would be Helpful#but idk if anyone caught it... it was kinda subtlehjfhgfgh

Propaganda under the cut
Specifically the first motobug from sonic 1:
most likely the first enemy you kill in sonic 1. it's metal shell provides no protection compared to flesh
Sonic:
He's the main character. Which also extends to favorite character. You know how fans treat their favorite character in fanworks? Whump and angst and truama
got hit with a sleep dart in tmosth

Sonic IDW/ Pokémon Crossover
A Glimpse At The Past
Year 21XX Log 1 It has been a week since Dr. Eggman has rebuilt not only me but the other Hard-Boiled Heavies. He had rebuilt us with one simple task in mind, obey him and too see too Sonic The Hedgehog's destruction. All the Heavies including myself vowed too serve him with the utmost loyalty. We would defeat Sonic and make our Creator's dream a reality. Dr. Eggman had already put together a new plan that the Docter says will see Sonic completely defeated and begging for mercy. All the Heavies are ready too prove themselves and so am I, though I must make sure the Heavies do not do anything reckless and cause needless damage to themselves.
After all as there King and Leader of the Hard-Boiled Heavies it is my job too protect the Heavies!
Year 21XX Log 4 About a month has past at this point, and all the Heavies and I had just comeback from another failed plan with Dr. Eggman. This was the second failed plan this month and it had put our creator in a rather bad mode as he ended up ranting about Sonic and his friends. The Heavies and I would have let our Master be too rant in peace however, Rider had suffered major damage from the red echidna, Knuckles. Optics were fractured, right arm was missing and a major fracture in the framework. I ended up going too Dr. Eggman with the damage report and asked our creator too fix Rider. Dr. Eggman merely scowled as he read the report and waved me off saying that he would repair Rider eventually and too stop pestering him. I apologized not wanting too cause our Creator anymore trouble and walked off towards the hanger were the other Heavies were, along with Motobug Jimmy who was at the currently powered down Rider's side and Gunner who was trying too fix Rider's broken optic…..
Hopefully Dr. Eggman would fix Rider soon…
Year 21XX Log 8 Another failed mission, a battle in the sky that they all had lost. The Heavy Wing had sustained massive damage and Gunner, Magician, and Shinobi were all in bad shape. Rider had managed too only sustain minor damage and I had taken a critical hit too both my arms causing the gears too randomly lockup. However repairs for myself could wait as Gunner, Magician, Shinobi needed immediate repair. Dr. Eggman was currently floating down on there Egg Mobile ranting and raving about Tails and Team Hooligan. I normally would let Dr. Eggman rant however 3 of the Heavies were in current need of repairs, which I told Dr. Eggman immediately when he had fully descended. Dr. Eggman waved me off and told me that they all could wait for repairs as Metal Sonic needed a tune-up after the fight he had with Sonic. I was greatly confused by this, Metal Sonic had taken damage yes, however the constant maintenance, new mixed alloy frame, combustion turbine the Doctor had upgraded Metal Sonic with had made the damage sustained quite minimal. I expressed these diagnostics and parameters of Metal Sonic too the Doctor and expressed that Metal Sonic was not in immediate need of repair. Dr. Eggman heavily scowled at my damage report of Metal Sonic and said that he would repair the Gunner, Magician, and Shinobi if he would stop annoying him.
I was thankful that Dr. Eggman decided too not postpone the repairs for the 3 Heavies.
Year 21XX Log 17 5 Months had passed and the Doctor had gone through many failures against Sonic and his friends. Plans and schemes had constantly failed, and the Doctor always yelled in in anger towards Sonic for foiling his plans. I tried too offer council too Dr. Eggman however he told me too shush and not doubt his genius. I swiftly apologized! I should have known that Dr. Eggman and his unparalleled genius needed no council. I must have absolute trust in Dr. Eggman….
As the Doctor has in all of Us!
Year 21XX Log 23 Around 8 months has now passed and the Doctor had grown increasingly angry and frustrated. He constantly yelled at all of us for our failures and not being able too beat Sonic and his friends. We all bowed asking for forgiveness for not being able too make Dr. Eggman's dream come true. The Doctor after around a hour of ranting told us too leave him so he could come up with another genius plan. We all went back to the hanger, not even bothering too bring up that we were in need of prepares after our last confrontation with Sonic, we all felt we deserved the damage we sustained and kept them as a reminder as we went to prep for Dr. Eggman's next eventual plan so we all could be ready. Our failures had made our creator mad, that could not be allowed to persist.
The Heavies and I must bring absolute Victory too Dr. Eggman!
Year 21XX Log 30 11 Months had now gone by and Dr. Eggman had grown quite angry with us all. We all were unable too see Dr. Eggman's plan through and the Doctor yelled at us all as he repaired us. He ranted and raved calling us all failures, saying if we all wanted too stand at his side when Eggmanland was finally created, that we all needed too try harder, push ourselves too the limit and destroy Sonic and his blasted friends. We all apologized but that was only met with more yelling as Dr. Eggman said that he does not want apologizes, he wants results, he wants that Hedgehog groveling at his feet. We all gave a resolute yes and promised we all would make his dreams come true. Dr. Eggman merely scuffed as he told all of us too prepare as he had a major plan in the works. The Heavies and I all gave Dr. Eggman confirmation that the Heavies will succeed…
We will make Dr. Eggman's dream come True!

Trainer was no doubt pissed upon seeing the footage. Sonic and Tails didn't know what to think as they never seen how Eggman treats his creations behind closed doors. They can't help but feel pity though.
It's pretty clear that Eggman only cares about results and failure would lead to abandonments. Despite how loyal or determined the Badniks were to please him. A sad reality most rather not see or admit.

egghog (i.e. raised by eggman) shadow has a deep love for badniks.
all of the egghogs (sonic, shadow, silver) have an affection for robots in some way or another. orbot and cubot tended to them more often that eggman did, and they were worked into basic badnik software as a high priority.
badniks of all shapes and sizes had a hand in taking care of them - smaller, simpler badniks would allow themselves to be played with like dolls, bring them drinks and snacks, and were programmed to be responsive to things like positive attention, cuddles, and dress-up (e.g. motobugs, buzz bombers, crabmeats, etc). midsize badniks would do all that was previously listed, but they were physically capable of more complex tasks like very basic cooking and building fun things (e.g. egg pawns). the most intelligent badniks/robots were in charge of things like complex cooking, diaper changing while the boys were still babies, first aid, and were capable of complex emotional intelligence in order to soothe the boys when they were upset (e.g. orbot, cubot, omega [to some extent, will elaborate on this someday], etc).
because the boys were reared mainly by badniks and other eggman robots, all of them have a much easier time connecting to inanimate objects or simple automatons compared to their living peers. they all deeply love each other and their father, but anybody outside of their family registers to them as either unimportant, unreal, or a threat.
this is especially true for shadow, who gets upset and protective over broken down machinery but doesn't bat an eye when he's ordered to hurt or kill people. this is, unbeknownst to him, by eggman's design.
shadow collects old shitty motorcycles, old shitty mp3 players, and old shitty badniks/robots. he spends a lot of his free time working on his projects. when he feels like he wants to be completely absorbed in his work or just really push himself, he works on his bikes. but when shadow just wants to relax, he has a very large collection of special project badniks.
shadow's badniks - nicknamed "shadniks" by amy - are his literal pet projects. his goal is to have one completed project of every badnik, and he has thusly become deeply familiar with how they work mechanically. he isn't very good with software though, having to consult his father for help with his badniks' custom neural nets. the shadniks are more complex than mass-produced badniks by a wide margin, both physically and mentally. they're all customized lovingly by shadow himself, and therefore they're all spiky, black and red (each part spraypainted by hand), sharp, tough, and imposing.
most of shadow's scary-looking additions to his custom badniks are either ineffective or actively detrimental in battle. their primary purpose is to keep shadow company, whizzing around his workshop and cuddling his head and enjoying a scratch under the chin every now and then. the shadniks are markedly sweet and friendly in demeanor when you are not categorized in the eggnet as a threat. the shadniks have indeed seen use in battle a few times in tight situations, as they are incredibly physically hardy compared to mass-produced badniks, but shadow always keeps a very close eye on them whenever this happens. they're deeply devoted to shadow, but eggman is still the one they listen to above all else.
shadow spends more time with orbot and cubot than his brothers do, thinking of them as his second and third dads to some extent. they're programmed to fuss over all of the egghogs by default, but shadow goes out of his way to maintain his relationship with them, despite them draining his social battery very quickly. they can be annoying, but he loves them like family.
egghog shadow's compassion runs deep, and his ability to form new emotional connections haven't been scarred by losing those he loves. perhaps if he makes friends with someone else who loves robotics, someone on the side of good, and maybe if he was encouraged by someone he loves and trusts, he could be made into a hero. for now, he sticks with what he knows. which is shoving injured citizens aside to fuss over a half-exploded caterkiller

Sonic the Hedgehog Analyzer, Issue #46: Trial by Fire (Part 2)
I believe that Cover RI is the most appropriate for this Issue, as it’s absolutely frightening, not only because there is a blaze raging around Belle, but also because she’s basically a wooden puppet. This is terrifying for her.
As for the Issue itself, we’re finally going to find out who set the forest on fire.
We start off with Belle waking up to the sight of everything around her burning to ashes while two figures are standing in front of her.
You know, I could just pretend I have no idea who those two are, since it is supposed to be a mystery, but let’s be honest, this isn’t a spoiler anymore.
While it is not an official introduction yet, I will welcome two new characters here - Surge and Kit, who will become incredibly important later on. Also, this basically confirms that Belle nor that kid with the Wisp were the ones who set the forest on fire, but Surge and Kit did. As for their backstory, we’ll dive into that later.
Belle is stunned, and we see her glove breaking apart, her hand being on fire. Fortunately for Belle, the Motobug from earlier spots her, throwing some mud on her hand to extinguish the fire. Honestly, this Badnik is genuinely cute. I mean, just look at him, he’s so proud for saving Belle.
Belle is stunned to see that the Motobug not only saved her hand, but also saved her by dragging her away from the fire. She then remembers the lighter in her hand, afraid that she may have been the one who started it, only to hear someone call for her.
It is Tangle, who was on the search for the ranger’s son. She’s immediately alerted by the presence of the Badnik, but Belle convinces her that the Motobug may have some wires crossed and saved her, with Tangle being fine with him around.
She then sees Belle’s hand, with Belle replying how it doesn’t hurt. Since she’s a robot, I guess Belle doesn’t have any pain receptors, so she can keep going even if she’s completely maimed. Tangle still helps her by wrapping sports tape around it and when Belle attempts to tell her that she may have started the fire, Tangle interrupts her as they still need to find that kid.
Honestly, while it seemed a bit rude for Tangle to interrupt Belle like this, I think it was for the better. They’re in a hurry, the forest is on fire and it would be smarter for Belle to keep quiet until she can get full confirmation to what had happened.
Meanwhile, back at the campground, Amy and Jewel are talking to the ranger, while people around them are still running around, trying to get away. The ranger explains how the campground is overcrowded and the road isn’t meant for heavy traffic, so there will be a stampede if they let everyone leave. With the wind blowing the fire towards them, they don’t have much time left. Amy asks Jewel for any ideas, with Jewel replying how they need to coordinate, but everyone’s so angry.
We then see an older guy arguing with the ranger, yelling at him to open the gates as everyone’s in danger. The ranger tries to calm him down, saying how he also has a kid out there, with the guy noting how it’s the kid with the red Wisp, and the people around him starting to talk how the boy and the Wisp may have started the fire. Amy and Jewel just stare at everyone as they argue, Amy being clearly frustrated as she leads Jewel on top of the rock in the middle of the campground.
What follows is a really epic shot of Amy summoning her hammer and then splitting the huge boulder apart! Like, look at that! That is awesome! Hell, Amy is awesome!
She then tells everyone basically to shut up and listen to her. Yes, they have every right to be scared out of their minds and want to protect their families, but there is a good reason for the gate to be closed, because if everyone tries to leave, they’ll be stuck.
The guy then asks her whether she has a plan to stop the fire, but Amy replies how she’s more of the type leading the charge than figuring out logistics and points at a rather shocked Jewel, asking her for a plan.
Jewel dejectedly tells her that she can’t, with the guy yelling at them, only for Amy to shut him up immediately as she brandishes her hammer. God, I love Amy when she gets riled up and starts beating on the people who are being annoying.
Amy then asks Jewel what’s wrong, and Jewel explains how the only thing she’s good with is paperwork and rocks, so what gives her the right to tell those people what to do? She did nothing but stumble through the Metal Virus, the Eggman attack and the Zeti, adding how the Restoration can’t even keep their own people safe and that she can’t even handle whatever Tangle is going through (one word for the latter, Jewel: communication!).
But, yeah, when you think back to those events, Jewel became a Zombot after getting accidentally affected. When the Zeti attacked, she was hiding in the main control room with Tangle and Whisper, and even then, only the latter two fought back. As for the Eggman attack, we had that moment where Jewel replied to Whisper that she wasn’t a leader and Vector taking charge.
Honestly, this is actually a very big moment for Jewel. The stuff that happened really affected her self-confidence, and it is clear that she isn’t a fighter like Amy or Tangle. However, she still has her own strengths, and Amy reminds her that she’s still doing her best and that she just needs to have some faith, showing her the tarot card again.
Jewel takes it and quickly takes charge of everything, with Amy giving her the most proud look she can manage. It’s adorable.
So, the plan - first, they’re getting the elderly and children to safety. This is followed by the next step of protecting themselves and the forest. They’re going to create a perimeter to contain the fire by digging out trenches, and while Jewel cannot promise everything will go perfectly, they still have a chance if they work together.
Checking back with Tangle, Belle and Motobug, Tangle has some trouble breathing... and I swear we had a similar event with Shard, Silver and Larry in Sonic Universe.
Admittedly, Shard’s comment was much funnier and the situation wasn’t as dire as with Tangle dealing with smoke inhalation.
Anyways, Belle points out where might be less smoke and they find a chasm, spotting Ashe and his Wisp across it. They attempt to get down from the cliff they’re standing on, only to slip, with Tangle coughing violently due to the smoke.
Fortunately, Motobug manages to catch them and as they drive to the edge of the cliff, Belle tells Tangle to grab her tail and pull it at the right moment.
They reach the edge and on Belle’s mark, Tangle pulls the tail, causing Belle to kick them off across the chasm. However, they start falling and Belle fears they won’t make it, but fortunately, Tangle grabs a rock and pulls them onto safety. They all land on the ground, safe and sound.
Belle turns to Ashe, introducing herself, but the poor kid is too scared since he basically is dealing with two Badniks here and doesn’t want to fight. Belle gets serious and tells him that there’s something important he needs to know... and then honks her nose, cheering the latter up and asking him to remember that. Honestly, this is genuinely adorable and I think that Belle would know how to work with children since she and Mr. Tinker had been working on those rides for the kids.
As for Tangle, she is completely enamored by Belle’s clown nose and I’m laughing over here, wondering what is better - Tangle’s wide-eyed expression or Belle’s deadpan look. Belle also adds how, if she tells everyone what she saw, she will disassemble Tangle’s bicycle and hide the parts. Honestly, I love seeing these two interact.
As for Ashe, he tells Belle that he didn’t start the fire, but he did see Surge and Kit doing it. Belle is relieved that it wasn’t her, while Tangle is puzzled over Surge’s ability to manipulate lightning. Belle replies how she saw them too and Ashe is glad they believe them.
The group then leaves, following the river downstream, but a burning tree falls off and crashes into the cliff, causing everyone to fall off, safe for Motobug.
As Motobug looks up, he sees the tip of Tangle’s tail. Fortunately, Tangle has saved everyone, with Belle holding onto Ashe. Unfortunately for them, the tree trunk breaks off and the cliff crumbles, hitting Motobug and causing Tangle to lose her grip.
The last we see of them is everyone falling down the chasm.

Friendly Badniks ahoy! Funny that this isn’t even the last time we see Ian Flynn include a helpful Motobug in his stories. Love Big’s first instinct upon seeing an enemy is to protect his friends. His kind nature is really emphasised in these post-reboot comics!
The setting of Dr. Ellidy’s hideout is on Isolated Island! Yep, the same one Knuckles’ Chaotix took place on! Obviously the Badniks and zone aesthetics are a dead giveaway, but its neat how its the island Dr. Ellidy went to after his retirement, giving its name a whole new context for the story, and he studied rings, akin to the giant ones Eggman experimented with in the game.

Name: Moto Bug
Debut: Sonic the Hedgehog
I have decided that it is finally time for a Badnik post! And only, like, eight months after my temporary burst of interest in the Sonic series. I was planning to do a post on my favorite Badniks from throughout the series, but Moto Bug would have been at the beginning of that anyway, and I realized that there is a LOT to say about Moto Bug. So I am going to say it!
We all know Moto Bug. But do we all appreciate it enough? I know I do, but do you? I sincerely hope so. It’s the basic baddy of the Sonic series, but I think it’s the best basic baddy EVER. Better than Goomba. Better than Waddle Dee. Even better than Gnawty! These are all great, but none of them are a robot, or a bug. Moto Bug is BOTH, and that already puts it in the S tier of creature concepts!
Simplifying a bug face while still having it look very much like a bug face is a somewhat difficult task, but Moto Bug pulls it off PERFECTLY. Good job, whoever designed it! And extra points for it being based on a ladybug. People can convince themselves ladybugs are sweet and innocent all they want, but of course they’re a nightmare for an aphid, or for a humble hymenopteran aphid farmer!
Can perfection be improved upon? Dr. Eggman thought so. And that’s why, in the 8-bit version of Sonic 2, he made New Motora! “Motora” is simply Moto Bug’s Japanese name, so this is New Moto Bug. Moto Bug 2. It’s really the same thing. I guess I like it the same.
In Sonic Chaos, Eggman finally realized that there should be something protecting his lowly goons from being jumped on. So he put a spring on a Moto Bug and made Boing-o-Bot! A spike would have been far more effective, but this is more fun. I think people in this universe value fun over practicality pretty often. That’s why they built loop-de-loops everywhere!
And look how much fun THIS Moto Bug is having in Triple Trouble, riding a Spin Coaster! It doesn’t actually have a name. It’s just known as Sunset Park Zone Badnik, because it appears in Sunset Park Zone. Just call me Weird Mario Enemies Moderator!
Moto Bugs themselves appear in Sonic 4 with a redesign, and... it just feels off to me. All I can think of is that the face is too thin, but it changes the feeling a lot! This is why nobody likes Sonic 4.
I have, however, seen a good deal of respect for the Generations redesign! I suppose it is a good design, but... the big, vacant eyes are one of its best features. Where did they go?
The Lost World redesign may not have EXACTLY the eyes I like, but I do quite like this! It’s a fun, round, cartoony robug. This opinion gets me burned at the stake by “real” Sonic fans.
Finally, in Sonic Mania... Moto Bugs got their biggest break yet! Aside from appearing as basic enemies, this game introduces a notable INDIVIDUAL! Jimmy is the noble steed of Heavy Rider, and he’s bigger, faster, and stronger than a regular Moto Bug, too. But most importantly, he can jump using a telescopic wheel! It’s somewhat bittersweet, though: Jimmy’s very existence is a tribute to Polygon Jim, creator of a ROM hack that allows you to play as a jumping Moto Bug in Sonic 1, which can be found here. Jim may have passed away, but it is clear his influence lives on, and in precisely the way someone who would make a Motobug-focused adventure would want.
*rides away on this*

Do you have any headcanons for your self insert and Eggman
OHO you bet I do, especially since I have a bunch of fics of my s/i and Eggman that I’m literally never gonna post sdhkjdfhbkgbs //^w^//
I really appreciate your interest in my s/i because I don’t talk about him often thinking that people just might not really like to know. So it means a lot thank you :’D
Julian previously lived with a self-formed pack that mostly consisted of wolves and a few dogs. The point of them was to combat against Eggman’s Forces and basically serve to protect the place they resided. Of course having this connection meant that Julian heard about Eggman and all the terrible things he did all the time, being told about the latest news and past stories by the pack very early on in his life.
Despite being very well aware of how dangerous a man he is, Julian was always more intrigued than afraid. Having no idea when what he could possibly do next with how unpredictable he is was the exciting thing happening Julian’s life. He was very good at hiding it from the others though.
Julian was never a physical fighter so his position was to be the lookout, the one that warns the others of oncoming danger.
He didn’t do his job properly on purpose though lmao. Out of his fascination with all of Eggman’s creations from the biggest of mechs to the smallest of robots, he wouldn’t warn the others about seeing badniks because he didn’t want to contribute to them being destroyed. Despite them being programmed to be hostile, Julian would try to get as close to the odd motobug he saw just to get a better look at them.
He had absolutely no regard for his own safety and that only reached higher extremities when he’d sneak not far behind the pack to get even the slightest glimpse of Eggman in person. He still remembers and treasures the first time he got the closest he been yet. Which compared to now, was still very far away as he was up on top of a building lol. But he managed to see him there in his egg mobile just before he left and that was special to him!
I have multiple stories for how they first met personally but I’m still deciding on which one is the ‘canon’ version to my main story of them. Because I’ve settled on combining all my favorite parts into one, I’ll share what I’ve decided on for certain atm.
Eggman visited to see if there was any useful terrain for a base or more healthy animals to use for his pawns. This time he had his forces seize some of the most important members of the pack on the scene. Julian just happened to be one of the random extras they grabbed since he was lurking there. While that was everyone else’s horror, it was his luckiest day!
Eggman had a lot of ideas for what punishment he wanted to give the significant members that he had targeted. But first, he wanted to make sure he could break them down and control them to the point that they feel miserable and defeated, acknowledging his power and greatness for being the winner of the annoying ongoing battle between them. Before dealing with them immediately though, he had them temporarily work for him so he could mock and toy with them some more.
Since Julian was not a trained and skilled fighter like the others, he wasn’t closely involved until the third meeting. That’s when he was unexpectedly brought in and the former leader explained his position of being the lookout. As long as he could be useful to Eggman in the meantime, he could also serve some type of purpose rather than just sit in a cell until he decides it’s time to rid of them all. So he gave Julian a role in his current main base’s security room.
Eggman quickly noticed how visibly focused on him he was the entire time he was talking. Of course, when he can feel the attention on him it further boosts his confidence to the point where everyone can tell that he’s deliberately showing off. But Julian is just like me and recognizes him as a total asshole and finds that attractive about him along with everything else. Eggman announced to the others that he was an example of how attentive the others should be.
During the short time the pack had to follow Eggman’s orders, they were often scared into submission by his threats so much that hardly anyone dared to act up. They knew that their sentence would only become even shorter if they made their unwillingness too clear to him. Julian didn’t have to be told twice to do anything and served him the most willingly the entire time. The second he saw someone even consider an attempt to escape, he’d make sure Eggman knew about it.
It really didn’t take Eggman long to notice how much Julian was into him. He was already getting ideas the first meeting he attended but there was so much besides that which really made it obvious to him. The way Julian’s tail would wag like crazy when he entered the room. How happy he looked whenever Eggman was jolly, especially when he’d laugh. How he failed to hide his reaction towards even the slightest bit of physical contact between them. Even indirect contact like using something after he had, like drinking from the same glass as he did was something that he seemed oddly delighted about.
Most importantly he had many assets that Eggman found useful, such as his enthusiasm to hear him talk about himself and his work, how quickly he’d jump at the chance to serve him. Everything he did wasn’t even in an attempt to impress him or make him notice that he liked him, he did it all simply because he couldn’t help it. He just enjoyed stroking his ego and his satisfaction came from seeing Eggman happy and proud. The way he didn’t expect him to give him anything in return was also helpful in getting Eggman to realize that he had some worth lol
After he’d rid of all the other pack members he’d captured, Julian didn’t even seem to care what happened to happen to them. Instead, he was instead thrilled that he was kept alive for some reason because he still didn’t know why yet. That almost convinced Eggman that his desire to stay on his side was genuine. He was considering keeping him in management of his security and that’s why he was spared.
But he wasn’t going to reveal that to him just yet because he was soon thinking back to the times where people working under him would try to betray him or get something out of him, even after seeming to be pretty devoted to serving him. Even though Julian seemed to have the deepest passion for him beyond working, he wouldn’t overlook the possibility of him being a good actor and spy of some sort.
So he decided that he’d confront him about it and test his willingness. That way he could attempt to understand his true intentions. It’s not like he’d stand a chance against him if he did try anything against him in those moments, so he went for it. He ended up having Julian pinned up against the wall, demanding that he prove to him that it’s all real.
He said that there were no security cameras around, so he can do whatever he wanted and nobody would ever find out. He expected Julian to understand that if he had some plan to attack or betray him, now was his chance. But that’s not what he thought of with those words. And oh boy, did he know how to prove how he really felt. It was after that where Eggman knew for certain that it was real and things escalated between them from there when he took full advantage of his desire for him.
When Julian was staying with him at the base everything went well. Eggman liked how much the wolf made it clear that he would never ask so much out of him, never interfere with his work or speak against his orders because he understood and supported him in a way that no other person had done before.
Julian especially cheered on all his biggest dreams for Eggmanland, any latest plans and projects that he revealed to him and he loved to hear of all the stories of the evilest and cruelest chaos he’d brought upon people, lands and the entire planet. Hearing of it all from his perspective had been his dream ever since he’d been told about him.
The surviving (hint hint) members that had never been captured by Eggman attempted to come and ‘rescue’ Julian, but it was never a group effort. His former partners would take it upon themselves to go alone to find retrieve him, believing that he was being held there against his will. Most of them never figured out why he was so calm about being there and even after they reminded him of how dangerous Eggman is.
They were furious and appalled when they finally realized his betrayal of them for Eggman and how he completely supported the man’s actions. But it didn’t matter because none of them ever left the base unscathed to tell anyone else of their discovery. Eggman would threaten them and take action upon them himself so they’d never be able to even dare to try to come back again. Julian didn’t care what he did to them as long as it got them off their backs.
So yeahhh, Julian doesn’t have the power to be labeled a true villain like Eggman but he definitely isn’t a good guy huh XD He knows how to look and appear innocent and hide his much darker side. Eggman definitely helps bring it out of him and is a very bad influence without even really trying though heheh. They also have a lot of very deep and dark secrets that nobody else will ever know or hear of, if they do then they won’t live to tell the tale anyway. Eggman especially has always made sure of that. 👀
As time went on he realized that despite hardly being able to contain his immense amount of love for him, Julian was still very good at keeping the secrets they had together too. That’s why he eventually decided to also give him the role as a type of spy that could act and blend in well with their enemies.
He’d later go on to fool the Resistance as his spy by joining them and reporting back to his beloved with any necessary information he’d gathered. Despite a lot of close calls, Julian’s biggest accomplishment is that he managed to play the part right up to the moment where Eggman was about to drop the sun down on everyone. Then he finally got to join his side again and despite not expecting anything, he got quite the reward for that effort ;D

There is more to this hedgehog than meets the eye, so much in fact, that I have to add it under the cut.
Professor Evi L. Robotnik...
Evi (pronounced Eve-eye) was adopted into the Robotnik family at a very young age.
Eggman was far from dumb, and knew exactly what was happening in this world. Humans were becoming extinct. He knew he would be outlived, and he certainly didn’t know how successful any attempts to making himself immortal might be, and becoming a machine himself has always either failed him or did more harm than good. He has been betrayed by his very own creations with the competency to rule his empire too many times to allow himself to be over thrown by them too early in his plans. He needed a successor, a Mobian of some sort, one that wouldn’t be noticed if they went missing but one that wasn’t as incompetent as his henchmen.
It was surprisingly easy to legally adopt a child from a tiny orphanage in a tiny town, even easier than simply kidnapping them. Plus, if anyone tries to ‘save’ him then it’ll be THEM who are kidnapping.
All of the gross and difficult parts of parenting were thrown to Orbot and Cubot, and it wasn’t until Evi was a little bit older that Eggman had actually grown rather attached to this tiny rodent living with him.
Evi was absolutely fascinated by all the machines, which at first was assumed to be just a tiny child’s attention on 'metal toys’, but after he was able to adapt a motobug to actually fly like a ladybug, things changed very quickly. He was allowed to be in the workshop more, to watch and learn, and to tinker with broken and unused parts.
Evi found an old Metal Sonic model that had been broken and left with the pile of junk parts for months, and begged to be able to have it to work on. Eggman allowed him to have it after a little bit of convincing, and secretly decided to let this be a test of his skills, to find out what it is his successor will do with the bare minimum of what Eggman leaves behind.
2 days and this Metal Sonic was already up and running again, and that was with the bare minimum. Evi was given full access to the workshop after then, and this Metal Sonic was his own to update and maintain. Evi loved his pops, and he understood he was the bad guy, but it was so fun to be a bad guy he didn’t really care. He was safe, he was loved, and his smart little mind was free to explore the world of robotics. He soon had his own Shadow Android to tinker with too. He was surely going to be a great heir to the Eggman Empire and will do all he can to make his pops proud.
Evi was helping Eggman with a generator strong enough to take an entire continent and send it flying into the air to make their own Land that they would rule over. Evi got the honour of putting the final of 3 chaos emeralds they needed into the machine. But in the excitement there was a miscalculation, and the giant battery they were using to try and store the energy for the wave couldn't hold the emeralds power and it exploded as soon as the emeralds were put into place. Since Evi was literally touching the machine when this happened he got the most damage, lots of burns, bits of shrapnel, but the heat and light permanently blinded him.
Evi was terrified. He couldn’t see, and he believed he messed up so badly, he didn't know if anyone else got hurt. What happened to the machine? The Emeralds? Evi refused to stay down for long, and was a constant struggle for Orbot and Cubot to handle, as they were in charge of helping him heal. Evi was determined to fix the machine regardless of his lacking of sight, he’ll find a way, he’ll make his pops proud of him, he won’t let him down, he was so certain that Eggman was disappointed in him for his miscalculations that he had to make it right no matter what. But he was always put back into bed to rest.
Only a few hours pass of struggling that Evi is told to stay still from his Pops, which he promptly obeys to, preparing for the lecture or scolding of some kind. Instead, he finds his vision returning to him as something is pulled over his eyes. The entire time he was supposed to be resting and getting the care he needed from the bots, Eggman was making him some glasses that bypassed his eyes entirely to allow him to see. It took the information and image in front of him and delivered it straight to his brain just like the eyes would normally do. Over time with tinkering the glasses turned into the powerful goggles he has now. Eggman taught him the importance of making mistakes, and even got to laugh with him about a few of his own mistakes he made in his younger days too, but the fact that Evi refused to let his work remain broken made him very happy, and together they planned on making it work together.
Maybe with less emeralds this time.
Actually... that Phantom Ruby might be of some use to them.
Surely
they can’t possibly
mess this up
this time
right?
(I suggest reading Fleta’s backstory if you haven’t already)
After having time to grieve, and build up the empire once again, Evi has returned to rule over the world with many iron fists. He can’t allow anyone else to think they can become the new hot shot villain of the world, they must know their place, beneath him and his empire.
The heroes on the other hand. The HEROES. They, well, they’re actually kind of fun. He’s never really, interacted with another non-robot person other than his pops before, and these heroes, although they make a mess and break his stuff, give good banter, and are always fair fighters. He’d never admit it, but he’s gotten a little soft over the years as he’s gotten to know his rival, if anyone knew any better, they’d notice how he never actually hurts anyone, or endangers the planet, and he’s actually quite protective of his rivals, not letting anyone else have a go at them. He can put on quite the show, and of course would never ever want to let his pops down, so he makes sure the Eggman Empire lives on in infamy, causing havoc and mayhem with huge elaborate plans of world domination, that when looked deeper into isn’t actually the end of the world.
He’s nowadays more just a villain for fun and to keep up appearances, and besides, if he didn’t keep having plans to foil, then he’d stop getting surprise visits from his rival, and the chance to fight and heckle them.
He is the villain of the story.
He is Professor Evi L. Robotnik.

◈ (I'm curious to see what happens)
Accidental Injury:
Both hybrids were versed in what to do should Eggman’s robots attack while they were traveling. Most of the time, the toddler stuck to the plan and kept from getting underfoot, but it was likely that her Hero was beside them that day that she had ‘forgotten’ that little piece of information. While for the most part she was staying closer to the sidelines as Sonic and her father dealt with the problem, Harmony saw her chance to show the hedgehog what she could do when a motobug got close enough for her to grab.
All she wanted to do was be helpful and by grabbing the round robot, it was a thought she would be doing. One spin in a circle was followed by another and a third to pick up the momentum she needed to send the thing flying towards the flying eggmobile that was watching everything below it. What she hadn’t been expecting was for Sonic to make the jump towards her target at the same time that she had released.
Her emerald eyes widened, watching as the curveball special that was the motobug slammed into the protective ball form that Sonic was able to obtain and knock him completely off course from the rotund genius who only then realized that there were actually three players on the field against his robots and him. While her father handled the last remaining robots, Harmony made her way over to the disoriented hedgehog as quick as her feet allowed her.
“I’m sorry Sonic. I didn't mean ta hit ya... I was aimin’ fer eggbutt... Are ya oki?” She placed her hand on his one arm, locking eyes for a moment to at least get a nod at her question before her ears were ruffled to show that there was no harm, no foul. At least she had been able to show him that she was just as strong as she had boasted about in the times they met prior.

if you like robots so much, then maybe you should become one :/c
falling stars fic masterpost
There was no escape from the tank. Sonic was stuck like a fish in a bowl, and he didn't even have the comfort of colorful pebbles to help ease his claustrophobia. Not that it would've mattered, since the cables at the top of the tank soon became alight with electricity, and the Roboticizer roared to life.
The feeling started in his eyes. They were as wide as dinner plates when the electricity coursed through them. It was like they were being peeled away and replaced by something else, something colder. Something that glowed dimly through the bubbles of the tank.
The feeling quickly spread to his nose. His ears. The rest of his body.
It was cold. So cold.
By the time it was over, Sonic couldn't even shiver. Temperature wasn't even a blip on his radar anymore, he was so incapable of registering it. His body was no longer flesh, fur, and bone. Now, it was metal, circuits, and wires. He saw the world through a red-tinted screen. At first, the image was fuzzy, but it quickly sharpened, the pixels that made up his environment rendered in crisp HD.
He saw a motobug with a star sticker on its forehead cowering by the door. He saw Doctor Eggman standing on the other side of the glass, grinning at him triumphantly. Sonic stared back at the man, the gears in his head beginning to turn.
Then, he realized something. He wasn't in pain anymore. The lingering ache that had been holding him down for days had been obliterated, and he was left feeling strong. Powerful. Like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders--or, more accurately, his leg. And the person responsible was standing right in front of him. Examining him through those round glasses and down that big, long nose.
Doctor Eggman.
Sonic… was supposed to listen to him. That's right. He was supposed to do whatever the Doctor said. As a part of the Eggman Empire, it was Sonic's job to help see its conquest through. And he would. He would do it. It was what he was made for. Yeah, he remembered now. Serving the Empire was what he was always meant to do.
The water drained from the tank, and the panel at the top slid open.
Eggman said, "Well? Do you plan on staying in there forever? Front and center, if you please."
Sonic's shoes sparked to life, and he flipped out of the tank in one swift motion. He stood in front of the doctor, still dripping, with his head tilted upwards. Even with the extra inch or two his new metal shoes added to his height, Eggman was still so much taller than him.
"Remarkable," Eggman breathed. He was admiring his handiwork. "Perhaps this old machine has held up better than I thought. How fortunate for you, Sonic… since the alternative would've been much uglier."
Sonic caught movement out of the corner of his eye. Immediately, he snapped his head toward the door, and only just barely managed to catch the back of Metal Sonic as he angrily flew away.
With a wave of his hand, Eggman said, "Oh, pay him no mind. You know how it is with look-alikes, don't you? They tend to become quite envious over time."
Suddenly, Eggman stepped away from Sonic. The doctor's attention was now on the motobug that was still cowering by the door. He shot it a loathsome glare. "Now, to take care of that miserable little traitor…"
The motobug curled in on itself when Eggman approached. It knew what was coming. Deactivation. Or dismantlement. Or something else that any sensible robot would be wise to quiver in fear of. It covered its eyes with its claws, unable to look at the disappointment on the doctor's face.
However, right as Eggman was about to lay a hand on the little robot, Sonic appeared in between them. He had crossed the room in the blink of an eye, so fast that neither the doctor nor the motobug had even seen him move at all. Now, he was standing protectively over the little robot, his glowing eyes boring into their leader like hot coals.
"What do you think you're doing, Sonic?" Eggman hissed.
"Easy, sir," Sonic said. His voice was covered in a layer of robotic vocal fry, and far too flat. "I'm just lookin' out for the Empire."
Frowning, Eggman leaned back. There was a hint of genuine curiosity in his narrowed eyes, but it was well hidden. "I don't remember telling you to do that," he said.
Sonic's heroic nature was, of course, common knowledge to Eggman. But to see it translated to--and even directed toward--his own robots wasn't something the doctor was expecting. And it was a strange sight to see. After all, none of his badniks had teamwork programmed into their code. None of them cared about each other.
The only thing that mattered was that they were loyal to Eggman himself. That was the driving force motivating each and every one of them. And Sonic, now a Robian, should be no different.
Should be.
"I- I know," Sonic said quietly. He looked down, the new programming in his head fighting against the will of his heart. It was hard for him to get his next words out. "It… won't happen again. I'm s- suh- sorry."
The motobug didn't dare move. It stayed perfectly still, every mechanism in its body locked in place while Eggman stared down at it over Sonic's shoulder. Slowly, the doctor's expression changed from resentment to rapacity.
Eggman stroked his mustache. He was calm now. He'd realized how to take advantage of this. "Actually, Sonic," he began, "it would save me a great deal of resources if you protected my badniks. You have no idea how expensive it is to replace them! And money doesn't grow on trees, you know. It's hard work printing it all myself."
Sonic looked up. His processors, which had just been whirring loudly from the war being waged inside of his mind, suddenly shushed. He smiled. "I'll keep 'em safe. Promise," he said. The faintest glimmer of emotion shone through his robotic voice: gratitude. "I won't let you down, Doctor Eggman, sir."
Eggman spun around on his heel. He started down the hallway, the sound of his footsteps echoing down the long corridor. His blood red coat trailed behind him, a stark reminder of what he could have done to the motobug. If he'd wanted to.
Finally, the motobug allowed itself to relax. It was lucky to be online right now.
After letting his own shoulders slump, Sonic turned around to face the motobug. He winked at it with his electronic eyes. "Don't worry, little buddy," the Robian whispered. "I've got your back!"
"SONIC!"
Hurriedly, Sonic followed after Doctor Eggman. But not too hurriedly--he didn't disappear from view like he had when the motobug's life was in danger. He just jogged down the hallway at a respectable pace before falling into step at the doctor's side.
He didn't notice Metal Sonic watching him from the shadows. And he was too focused on Eggman's voice to hear when the look-alike exited the Scrambled Brain Bowl. He and the doctor continued on through the complex, unbothered.
While they walked, Sonic thought about how good it felt to have two functional legs again. He was thankful that Doctor Eggman had fixed the broken one for him. The Robian cherished it--cherished his freedom of motion.
For the next few days, Eggman kept a close eye on Sonic. The Robian could always feel the doctor's hawkish gaze on the back of his neck while he worked. But the brand new code swirling around his mind told him not to worry about it. And Eggman kept him too busy for any doubts to creep in.
So, he didn't ask questions. He served the Empire.
He ignored his whispering heart.
But the static in Sonic's mind was building. It grew louder every time he listened to Eggman. And it grew more insistent every time he ran an errand for him, or took down a G.U.N. drone that had wandered too close to Scrap Brain Base.
It pulled on his heart like a drawstring every time he was reminded to stay away from the deepest part of the basement.
No amount of un-OSHA-regulated labor could kill the part of him that was fighting. Fighting hard against Eggman's control. And as the days turned into weeks, the static plaguing his mind became impossible to ignore. Now, it was deafening.
At the same time, Eggman stopped ordering Sonic to follow him around everywhere. The doctor probably assumed his Roboticization was flawless. That he could be trusted not to rebel. So, his leash got a little longer. And Sonic was left alone with his thoughts more often. Thoughts that oftentimes, didn't match up with the programming that had been drilled into his brain.
Thoughts that he didn't belong here. Thoughts that he was forgetting about something.
Thoughts that he should really just go and check out that room in the basement, the one that was locked behind a heavy blast door.
Sonic groaned. All of these thoughts were giving him a headache, and that shouldn't even be possible. Annoyed, he kicked his feet. They were hanging off the edge of the Brain Bowl, because he was sitting on the very tip of one of the Bowl's mustache spikes. The movement made him feel a little better, but it wasn't enough to get rid of the static that was ringing in his ears.
Beside Sonic was the motobug with the star on its head. It balanced expertly on the thin strip of steel, having gotten used to Sonic's weird hang out spots by now. It looked at him curiously.
Sonic smiled. Maybe a little thinner than usual. "Just thinkin'," he told the motobug.
The little robot kept looking at him. It beeped once.
Sonic rubbed the back of his neck. "What else? About his vileness, Doctor Eggman. Duh."
The motobug beeped again.
Sonic pinched one side of his mouth and looked away from the little robot that could always, somehow, see right through him. "Alright, alright. You caught me. But it's nothin', bud. Seriously."
The motobug wasn't convinced, and neither was Sonic. But there was no more time to talk about it, because an alarm suddenly started going off in the Robian's head. His eyes flashed red.
[INTRUDER ALERT. IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED.]
[LOCATION: BB-F3.]
An intruder? That was different. But Sonic's directive remained the same: protect the Base and its badniks.
In a flash, Sonic stood up, hopped over the motobug, and slid down the roof of the Brain Bowl. He made his way inside and up to the third floor landing in ten seconds flat, his thrusters allowing him to skip the elevator entirely. Once there, he looked around, but the landing was empty. The only things up there were benches and tables, and a few spare tool boxes.
Sonic frowned. Could it have been a false alarm?
The thought had barely finished processing when he noticed it--something shiny on the table at the far end of the landing. Sonic bounded over to it and found that it was a card of some sort. He turned it over and was confused to see a bat printed on it with the words "Thank you" written over top in pretty cursive letters.
A voice from behind Sonic said, "Hey there, Blue. Nice of you to drop by. Mind lending me a hand? I'm looking for something special, and I heard it's stashed around here somewhere!"
Sonic froze. The static screamed in his ears.
Blue.
His sensors warned him of an incoming projectile, and he snapped out of his daze. He whirled around and caught the boot that was about to slam into his head with one of his hands. It belonged to a bat Mobian with white fur. And on her wrists, she wore two gold bracelets.
Sonic recognized her. From the photograph. The photograph that Doctor Eggman had shown him and…
Him and…
Sonic's heart tore desperately at the code that had his mind in a chokehold. It shuddered. Wavered. But remained intact.
The bat wrenched her leg free of Sonic's grasp. Then, she used the momentum to send a sweeping kick at his feet, attempting to knock him over. But Sonic recovered fast, and used his rocket boosters to dodge the kick and flip over her head. From there, he grabbed her by the arm, and threw her across the landing.
She used her wings to stop herself from crashing into the wall. But she was slower than Sonic, and he caught up to her before she had the chance to recover. He dug his claws into her shoulders and slammed her into the wall, and his momentum carried them all the way through it and into the room on the other side.
It was the room with the big green tank. The room he had been reactivated in, a little over a month ago.
The bat used her feet to push Sonic off of her. Then, she jumped up, and dusted herself off. "Wow!" she said, her eyes sparkling. "Not even Metal Sonic was able to get in a move like that. You can really do it like the True Blue himself!"
Sonic stared at her. The static was so loud. So loud.
Finally loud enough to unhook the claws of Eggman's nefarious programming from his mind.
"You," he gasped. Like he had just come up for air. "You're the one who stole Shadow's inhibitor rings!"
#falling stars au#thank god sonic has an iron will or else this could have gone so much worse <3#anyways writing his dialogue for this part gave me the willies. LOL

Specifically the first motobug from sonic 1:
most likely the first enemy you kill in sonic 1. it's metal shell provides no protection compared to flesh
locke:
He microwaved his own son. I don't know how his wife didn't canonically kill him right then and there because I sure would have.

IDW Sonic #5 review
After four issues of badnik bashing, meeting up with old friends and meeting new one(s), it’s time to focus on the elephant in the room: Where and What happened to Doctor Eggman? This issue answers that, but not they way I thought it would be...
When Issue 4 ended with Eggman vowing to “fix everything” I didn’t think he would literally fix everything. Apparently Eggman’s got amnesia and is now Mr. Tinker. To see the doctor go from mad genius to a kind man who fixes things was pretty interesting!
There’s a new city place Sonic goes to called Imperial City (which is probably a mix of Imperial Tower and Capital City?) And there’s more Forces references, like the Snake from Mystic Jungle shows up in one of the flashbacks. Charmy was kind of cute in this issue, him riding a Motobug was amusing (and will be the closest as a reference to Heavy Rider from Mania.)
What was also interesting about this issue was seeing the Chaotix and Sonic plan what to do next. Sonic has got some conflicting thoughts about this sudden ordeal, while he taunts Eggman during battles, he does acknowledge how threatening he can be at times. (Oddly, I thought he would include the time he was captured in Forces). There’s a point in which Espio decides to punish Eggman despite having amnesia, but Sonic stops him from doing so.
Tinker protecting the villagers was a nice thing to see and it’s at that point that Sonic is convinced that he turned over a new leaf.
In this issue, Sonic tries to rival Shadow’s “furious face”
The art in this issue was alright, Sonic making some amusing expressions, while one of the fight scenes was drawn nicely. Although there’s one more thing I’m wondering.
We also get the Village Head’s point of view on how Mr. Tinker showed up in their village. And that’s when familiar red cubes show up in this flashback-
It implies that Tinker is none other than an illusion of sorts. Then again Tinker mentions Eggmanland, the amusement park (and the hardest level in Sonic Unleashed) causing Sonic to have second thoughts. The cubes could be an after effects of being in Null Space for too long (or maybe using the Ruby for too long also).
Either Eggman is slowly remembering things, or it’s an illusion to distract everyone from his next plan. I guess we’ll find out pretty soon!*
Overall, Issue 5 was pretty interesting, and made me think on the possibilities on what really happened to Eggman. The thought process of Sonic and the Chaotix was pretty interesting to see! What will the next issue bring to the table?
*by the time of writing Issue 6 is already out. It’ll of course change things up a little.

Sonic Boom Summary/Review “Eggman Family Vacation
Eggman Family Vacation was a mixed episode for me. Most of it was kind of boring, but it got a little better towards the last act. One issue I have with the episode is the lack of continuity. All of a sudden, it seems like Eggman is the only one aware that Morpho isn't really his brother, and is a robot from another dimension. Eggman is the one who has to keep bringing it up. Eggman and Morpho are still fighting for who knows what reason. I was able to let the lack of continuity slide for the episode "Where Have All The Sonics Gone", but now it's gotten repetitive and tiring. Remember how Eggman and Morpho became best pals at the end of "Eggman's Brother", why is it portrayed like they hate each other all of a sudden? The episode starts off with Eggman and Morpho fighting over being defeated again, and Mombot is sick of it. She announces she's going on a vacation to Robokken, and wants Orbot Cubot, Eggman and Morpho to go with her, in hopes of bonding. Sonic and pals rejoice over being able to relax with Eggman away, but Amy pulls out a list of activities for them to do, and the gang suddenly loses excitement. While taking a hike, Knuckles accidentally activates one of Eggman's hidden missiles by pulling on a tree branch. The gang then uses Tails's plane to catch up to the missile and stop it. We get a montage of Eggman hating the vacation, while Sonic and pals keep running into different forms of danger, like being attacked by a giant snake, and exploring a dark cave full of angry Widabits. Eventually, Sonic and pals are getting a bit annoyed and exhausted by their vacation. Meanwhile, Eggman runs into Bolts, and notices how intelligent he is. Eggman decides he wants a certain chip from Bolts's parts, in order to make his robots more intelligent. Eggman and Morpho work together to trap Bolts and steal his chip. Mighton finds Bolts, and suspects Eggman is behind taking Bolts's intelligence chip, and charges after them. Eggman then grabs Mombot and the others to evacuate. Eggman flees back to the village, but Mighton and Cyborg Sonic catch up to him. Sonic and pals manage to stumble across them while still hiking on their own vacation. This is where the episode got a little more entertaining. Eggman puts Bolts's intelligence chip into Fire Bot, and it causes Fire Bot to shoot his flames more precisely, and use better strategies for fighting off Sonic. As Sonic and pals charge at Fire Bot, Fire Bot throws the chip to a Motobug, and now the Motobug has better intelligence, and starts driving circles around the others with tricky maneuvers. Sonic and pals keep chasing the minions around, as the minions keep passing the chip around. The gang starts smashing the robots, so they can stop passing them down to the other. Eventually, Sonic and pals lose track of the chip, and wonder where it's at. All of a sudden Mombot starts ranting about how they should stop fighting, and lectures how violence leads to more violence. Sticks gasps, and points out how Mombot must have the chip. Sonic and pals charge at Mombot, but Eggman and Morpho step in front of Mombot, and stop Sonic and pals from attacking. Eggman decides losing his Mombot over intelligent robots isn't worth it. He takes the intelligent chip out of Mombot, and hands it back to Bolts. In the end, Eggman and Morpho learn to get along for the sake of making their Mombot happy. Overall, it was a very mixed episode full of some tiring moments and a lack of continuity, but it still had some funny moments, and a slightly touching scene of Eggman and Morpho protecting Mombot from being destroyed. I didn't love the episode, but I didn't hate it either, it was just very unfocused. The vacation aspect of the episode was the worst part about it, it got better when it became a battle over reclaiming Bolts's intelligence.

12 Sonamy!
protective sentence starters
First of all, I’m SO SO SORRY that I never got around to answering this sooner! Somehow I can’t search through my own tags anymore through the search bar so it’s been really hard finding the original post containing the prompts in the first place. But I haven’t forgotten your prompts! I promise! Anyway, here’s one of the first ones you requested!
(Also I’m just gonna put this under a “Read More”, btw)
“You’ll back off if you know what’s good for you.”
It was hard to think of a characteristic of Dr. Eggman that was actually somewhat positive, but persistence was often the first thing that came to Sonic’s mind. The same could be said for Amy, in some ways, as well, though at least her persistence didn’t bother the hedgehog anywhere near as much. This didn’t mean, however, that there weren’t times that he found it annoying, especially if he had to deal with them at the same time.
Such was the case today, as he was busy fighting off yet another swarm of motobugs and crabmeats that were currently attacking Green Hill. Eggman’s latest world domination plot may have faltered at the hands of the Resistance previously, but that didn’t mean his motives were completely crushed underfoot.
Seriously, when is Baldy McNosehair just gonna give this up already? he thought to himself as he sped through another hunk of scrap metal. How has he NOT gotten tired of going through the motions over and over again?!
“Sonic!”
It was Tails. Somehow he had caught up to him after getting overwhelmed with a previous wave of robots, but judging by the giant battered wrench he was holding in one hand, he seemed to look okay, save for a few bruises here and there. Sonic also noticed the Miles Electric in the other hand, still intact. “Got any more intel on this yawn-fest, buddy?”
“It looks like you’ve pushed through the last wave of robots, but there’s something on my radar up ahead. It’s readings look familiar, some other things constant, others not so much…keep on the look-out for anything unusual.”
“I’m on it!”
A roundhouse kick here, a boost there, and a hop, skip, and several homing attacks later, they found himself face-to-face with…
“The Death Egg Robot?” Sonic skidded to a stop in his tracks, Tails following suit. “I thought that hunk of junk was down for the count, last time I checked…”
“That’s where you’re wrong, you annoying blue pincushion,” Eggman’s voice boomed from his Eggmobile. “I was able to rework the outer shell into a battle mech that could function on its own.”
“How is that possible?!” Tails asked incredulously. “The outer shell was constructed specifically to keep the Phantom Ruby’s power in check. When the robot physically holding the Ruby ejected itself, the shell should have been rendered completely useless!”
“That’s only what I wanted you to think, fox boy,” Eggman sneered. “You should know by now that I never construct any of my plans with just one backup in mind. OHOHOHOHOHOHO–”
“Can it, Eggface,” Sonic retorted. “Knowing you, any and all of your half-baked ideas wouldn’t last you half an hour no matter how much work you put into them!”
“Oh, you naive little rodent, you,” Eggman bit back. “I can assure you this one won’t be as easy to push through. You see, I rewired the shell so it would run on a different energy supply.”
As if on cue, the core of the shell began to glow, pulsing almost like a beating heart. Unlike the first encounter, however, the “heart” did not glow red like the Phantom Ruby, but green…then blue…then silver…then gold…then red…then purple…then cyan…
Tails’ eyes widened in horror as he finally put two and two together. “…no…”
The mad doctor laughed again. “Oh, yes…while you were busy destroying the Phantom Ruby, I was on the hunt for something far more powerful. So naturally, the Chaos Emeralds were a fitting substitute…all seven of them.”
Sonic shook his head in disbelief as he watched the scene play out before his eyes. “I can’t believe how hard we’ve been duped…the entire Resistance just…completely forgot about the Chaos Emeralds…”
“It was a little difficult to get my hands on the last one, but no matter,” Eggman mused. “At least she’ll be here to catch a glimpse of both of you falling victim to your doom! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!”
Tails raised an eyebrow in confusion “…she?”
“Oh, yes,” Eggman said as he yanked up a bright pink hedgehog by the collar of her red dress. “SHE.”
Sonic’s eyes instantly widened as he realized who it was Eggman was holding hostage. “Amy?!”
The pink hedgehog’s ears perked up as she heard her blue hero’s voice for the first time in days. Just as she was about to shout his name at the top of her lungs, Eggman shoved a hand in her mouth, muffling her scream.
“This little nuisance has been a thorn in my side for the past few days.” Seeing the scowl on Sonic’s face grow, he added, “Perhaps when you’re done for, I’ll finish off your pretty little girlfriend, as well.”
“Finish me? You?” Sonic’s eyes narrowed as he readied a battle stance. “We’ll see about that.” With that, he sprinted in Eggman’s direction as the the Death Egg shell readied its laser cannons and machine guns.
“Sonic!” Tails exclaimed as the weapons opened fire. “Watch out!”
The fleet-footed hedgehog knew exactly how this machine worked like the back of his hand. Effortlessly, he dodged lasers and evaded bullets left and right until he found the core, the shell’s only weak spot, fall into his line of sight.
Now I’ve just gotta ram into that thing a few times and make that thing cough up those Chaos Emeralds, he thought to himself. Here goes nothing!
One.
He felt the shell push back on contact. So far, so good.
Two.
He reached farther, pushing harder. Once again, the shell skidded backward, further back this time.
Three.
As he rammed into the core, the Chaos Emeralds released a shockwave, stunning Sonic and warping him back to Tail, his quills in disarray from the electricity emitted by the gems in the shell’s core. “I can’t stop it fast enough,” he groaned.
“Did you try taking out all the guns?” Tails inquired. “Maybe the Chaos Emeralds took some time to charge up before you damaged the shell enough, so maybe if you don’t get sidetracked by enemy fire, you’ll get to the core faster and deal more damage!”
“Great idea!” He was on his feet again in no time. “Thanks, buddy! And while you’re here, try to get Amy out of that Eggmobile! I’ll take out whatever’s trying to lock on you!”
Tails gave his best friend a thumbs-up as he took flight, beelining straight for the Eggmobile with his big wrench in tow. After narrowly escaping various lasers and deflecting numerous showers of bullets, he was able to sneak up on Eggman from behind. While the doctor wasn’t looking, Tails pointed his wrench at his head. “Where’s Amy?” he asked, trying not to shake in his little shoes.
Underneath his glasses, Eggman’s eyes widened. In the excitement of finally taking down Sonic in his new weapon, he had completely forgotten to keep track of the other annoying rodent in his possession! He slowly turned to his right. No sign of bright pink anywhere. He snapped his head to the left. Still no Amy to be seen. Come to think of it, she hadn’t made so much as a peep in a while…
“The little brat must have left when I wasn’t looking!” He slammed his fist against the dashboard of the Eggmobile. “Blasted hedgehogs. ALL OF THEM!”
In the meantime, Sonic was slashing through every weapon in sight, and was just about to tear through the last laser cannon when he saw the Chaos Emeralds about to form another shockwave. Right as it was about to release, however, there was a huge explosion from within the core, and the shockwave fizzled out. Within less than a second, he sprinted over to investigate. By the time he reached the core, he noticed that the glow of the Chaos Emeralds was absent. In fact…
“The Chaos Emeralds…they’re gone? Where did they go?”
Sonic looked closer at the core. It was completely destroyed, so clearly something must have gotten inside and damaged it enough so the Emeralds could be freed. He looked at the damage around where the core was housed. Were those…hammer marks?
“SONIC! LOOK OUT!”
He whipped his head around to find who screamed his name, but right as he saw who it was, the laser had already found its target. It stunned him, and pain shot throughout his shoulder and into the rest of his body. With no sense of coordination at this point, he toppled out of the core and back onto the ground. Although his vision was blurry at this point, he could make out the faint image of a pink hedgehog surrounded by seven other glowing hues.
“Amy…” he murmured as he fell. “What are you doing…”
“OHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!” Eggman cackled. “At last, Sonic the Hedgehog is finally out of commission! Now, with the power of the Chaos Emeralds, I can restart my efforts to bring the world under my control ONCE AND FOR ALL!”
“OH, REALLY?!”
Sonic’s vision was starting to clear, and he was just about to get back on his feet, when pain starting shooting through his body again. All he could do was lift his head up. What greeted him was none other than Amy Rose standing in front of him, with all of the Chaos Emeralds surrounding her. “Leave him alone, you jerk,” she hollered.
“And what should I do about it, little girl?” Eggman taunted.
“You’d back off if you know what’s good for you!” Amy shouted.
Sonic was able to push himself up off the ground slightly. Amy looked really angry. The Chaos Emeralds were revolving around Amy at an even faster pace now. Suddenly, in a fantastic flash of light, Amy was floating gently in the air, her quills glowing a radiant gold, her red eyes flashing.
The blue hedgehog on the ground gaped. She…she can use the Chaos Emeralds? She has a super form?!
She flew off, zooming towards Eggman, with her giant, walloping hammer in hand, and with one fell swoop, she swung at the Eggmobile, denting it severely as the head made contact. Instantly, the Eggmobile flew into the sky at an alarming speed.
And she didn’t stop there. Right as Sonic finally got back on his feet, she sped past him, readying her hammer to strike the Death Egg Shell, knocking him back to the ground.
Her hammer struck the core with a force so hard, it exploded, taking the rest of the shell down with it. Eventually, it toppled onto itself, clouds of dust emerging with every hunk of scrap metal that hit the dirt.
Sonic was back on his feet again when the smoke cleared. What he saw in front of him was Amy, smiling sweetly at him, as if nothing at all happened. He felt himself reaching out to her, almost reflexively, in an almost protective instinct, even though the roles were so obviously reversed. “Amy…”
His hand was shaking like the rest of his body. She took it in her own and walked closer to him, letting her own free hand rest on his bruised shoulder. Her hand was so warm, so gentle…under the soft little brushes of her fingers, Sonic could feel the pain melt away almost instantly, but he was still as weary as could be. Knowing Amy would want him to rest, he collapsed into her, letting her carry him as she flew back into the air to greet Tails. “Let’s go home”, she said.
And she flew away toward Green Hill, Tails following suit.
