so it seems the D&D cartoon has been getting alot of love lately. which is great because I enjoy the cartoon but I remember some folks saying it was lame which got me thinking.

Will the 2000 movie ever see any long?

I'm sure honor among thieves will be a beloved film but do you think Snails will be in idle champions? Profion might show on a few products because of internet fame. I could see " feed me your rage! het tet tet tet!" being on a t-shirt.

This weeks theme is fantasy villains! Which of these malevolent magical monsters will be written up next? Will it be the classic Disney villain? David Bowie and his impressive bulge? A Shrek villain, perhaps? Or am I going to have to talk about a Harry Potter character? You decide!

finally watched d&d: honor among thieves! the acting is great, the story’s solid, and it actually feels like a d&d movie!

in terms of comparing the one made in 2000 vs this one, i like this one infinitely better; the first movie just feels like a generic high fantasy film about people defeating an evil force, whereas this one actually makes references to the source material of the game (like alluding to saving throws, “you don’t see anything”, and others). however, the one thing that the predecessor has over this one is the homoerotic tension between the main antagonist (profion) and his underling (damodar); the remake lacks this, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. 10/10, would watch again.
