Happy Yule to those who celebrate 💜

Today I'm celebrating being five years sober from alcohol. I don't really talk about my sobriety journey on social platforms...

But, I will say. As tough as the journey has been, I'm much happier now than I was when I was drinking... almost constantly. I have an amazing support system of friends and family, which I'm very lucky to have and grateful for. My parents got me this custom phoenix chip for my anniversary and it made me cry because I do feel I've risen out of the ashes of self destruction and I'm being my true self again...

If you're struggling with sobriety. You're not alone. It is a very HARD journey and at times you may want to give up. But every step is worth it. When in doubt I think of the four elements. Water, to accept things you cannot change. Fire, the courage to change time things you can. Air, the wisdom to know the difference. Earth, the strength to move forward.
