It reads almost like prophecy to say that every victory in our [very] long civil rights movement is followed by a wave of white backlash. Across the world, the songs and psalms for restorative justice, reparations, and [decolonized] abolition have been met with state-sanctioned violence, ethnocentric nationalism (lasseiz fascist style), and a neoliberal brand of racism that @elonmusk is determined to be the poster child of. At times, I don't know if I'm trapped in a twilight zone where the 2020s are actually the 1930s (there are a lot of alarming similarities, especially in relation to Black reproductive health) But it's not that history is repeating itself; rather there are recipes and rhythms that humans love playing on repeat, all while pretending they're not actually doing the same white supremacist nonsense they're predecessors pulled (Pro Life folks, y'all ain't slick). Books bans aren't new. Weaponizing antiracist language (especially words coined by Black women + femmes) isn't new. Erasing and segregating education is one of the oldest racist tricks in the book (I just assume white supremacists have a great big book where they try to "science" and justify their perceived supremacy . . . all while misinterpreting and appropriating the histories and cultures of the same empires who colonized their ancestors. . . .) Regardless of the recipes and nonsense, Black folks, indigenous folks, queer folks, undocumented folks, incarcerated folks have all lived under the apartheid systems by design and it through their rebel afterlives that we move into Black August. WHEN did I say anything about single women adopting children? Because um nobody's against that. If anything caring for a child will help them and maybe learn to look for better men who won't fucking leave them. And how do you know pro lifers aren't adopting children and fostering them? You seemed bothered enough to type this. All because I said that prolife people need to open their doors and wallets for pregnant people( and I do mean all pregnant people) and raise all the kids?

Because when asked what exactly can be done for pregnant people to elevate many problems that come with pregnancies such as costs, adequate medical care, and other things there’s a distinct lack of answers. Because the programs available to assist with costs for food, baby formula, medical care during the pregnancy and afterwards is being cut or unavailable to due to the many requirements some of these programs have. Foster care seems to lose kids or place them with people that really shouldn’t be anywhere near kids.

You asked what I would do, and I said that I can’t adopt because most agencies don’t allow single parent adopt unless you meet age requirements, which I don’t. I would still push for safe and legal abortion as an options within a reasonable time frame especially if it’s medically needed( or if you don’t think you can go through with the pregnancy), seek a trusted person to adopt your child should they choose to go through with it.

We’re already losing medical care for pregnant people because abortion is part of their curriculum yet so many states are outlawing it, putting so many at risk.

All that because I ask what you, as a prolife person, would do to help.

Ps: I really enjoy your blog since you're probably the only openly prolife accounts I could think of aside from Prolifeproliberty and Probirth, it just seems like the rest of my mutuals that were in the same fandom as I do [Ninjago, DC comics, heck most shows ] are all staunchly pro-choice/progressive, it's difficult to find someone with the same values as you do while fangirling over medias. Aw thanks so much! Most people in fandoms who are open about their takes on controversial/political issues tend to be far left because those are the only acceptable opinions to have in fandoms it seems.

But no it's not too late to ask about the New Year! I have pretty generic "resolutions" since they are things I'm always trying to do but try start fresh every new year. Things like read more books, finish a writing project I've been working on, study my bible more in depth, things like that!

During National Adoption Month (November), we acknowledge the histories, memories, and afterlives of those adoptees who were once children and those who are still adopted into environments where their ancestral identities, languages, and kinship connections are erased, shamed, and disregarded.

We recognize that the multinational and multicolored families who were brought together through colonial adoption agencies and for-profit trafficking have potential and power to disrupt these systems by growing in fellowship and family-ship by nurturing antiracist learning + practices at home and decolonized politics into their community gardens.

But keep in mind, dear neighbors, that the adoption industrial complex is not rooted in community building or ancestral childraising practices. It is not an act of "saving" children from Palestine or Ukraine or Haiti.

The adoption industrial complex rips apart communities through war, through apartheid, and (yes) through settler-colonialism. The agencies and agents of adoption retain structures of environmental racism, probirth politics, and ugly feminism that allow white folks and white-aligned skinfolk to purchase Black, brown, beige, indigenous, and impoverished kids and across the Global South. You "save" a vulnerable child just to reinforce the same apartheid praxis that made them vulnerable in the first place . . . all in the name of what?

Children have a voice, and children have a right to remain, reclaim, and return to their communities.
