I don't think you understand the sadness that just came over me when I realized Anthony Tremaine probably won't be in the new descendants book. I literally read three of those books because of him. I was content with him not being in one of 'em was because it was Huma and sea three centric.
Like what's even the fucking point anymore?

don't get me wrong, i'm all for cute stories about pregnancy and having children together, but as someone who is like super terrified of pregnancy and wouldn't consider themself as someone who'd make a good parent, i'd loooove to read more fics about... that? either it's an unwanted pregnancy and they're terrified, or the couple talks about having kids and maybe the partner is open to the idea but understands and respects their s/o's fears and wishes. idk.

I was talking with Eri about shipping and authorial intent yesterday, and it occurred to me later that the importance even of the platonic bond between Maedhros and Fingon is probably distinctly exaggerated by the fandom (myself included) vis a vis how much attention Tolkien actually pays to it. What do we have in the books, really? The "ancient friendship" spoiled by the lies of Morgoth, the rescue, magnificent as it is, and the short mention of the Elessar (which, I will fight to my dying day, especially in a society where gems are present everywhere, is not in any way undeniably equivalent to courtship). Yes, it is extremely easy to construct their narrative arcs around eachother, but I honestly think that this is more a testament to Tolkien's skill as a writer, than an entirely conscious move on his part, given that it is not at all emphasised within the text.
And no, I'm not in fact saying that the fandom should not focus on this friendship, and most relationships in the Silmarillion are closer to vestigial than not anyway because of the very nature of the book, but I do think that as a fact it bears pointing to.

i personally prefer s2 haladriel mainly because i adore the dead dove mindfuck they’re embedded in each others minds and can never erase it dynamics (although the execution itself is another story lol) but at the same time im fond of s1 as a whole much more not just ship wise but in terms of plot enjoyment does this even make sense idk

well hold on, if we define a character flaw as any limitation a character deals with, regardless of whether it's something Morally Wrong With Them or not, then Ford's paranoia counts as a character flaw since it does in fact negatively impact him and the people around him. Let me use better wording here: I will die on the hill that Ford's paranoia is not a moral failing.

Okay, someone tell me if I’m the only person who thinks this, but I think if things had gone differently, Vi and Sevika would actually get along kinda well? Like, their biggest aspects to them is loyalty, even though it looks a little different between them. Sevika is more to the Undercity while Vi is loyal to the people she loves, but my POINT STANDS. And they’re both fighters, they have that in common, AND they’ve already beaten the snot out of each other twice now. That’s how you get to know someone.
Idk, I just feel like if things had gone differently and they hadn’t wound up on opposite sides, like if Sevika stayed with Vander instead of Silco, things would have been better between them and they might have actually gotten along

unpopular opinion: i know most of the show fans find ursula bonadeo annoying and dislike her character because cesare projected lucrezia onto her and used her as a substitute. but after many rewatches, i grew to like her. she's very pretty, and she was very sweet to lucrezia while helping her with giving birth. i feel sorry for her because she's a noble young woman who spent her life trapped with an abusive husband who beats her. and when she thought she finally found this handsome, honorable savior who could free her (even though she was indecisive about him, which i don't blame her because women back in that era didn't have many choices, and her husband would probably kill her if he found out about her and cesare), he turned out to be unhinged, as he seduces her, and manipulates her while being lustfully obsessive over her. so, she was rightfully terrified and frustrated by cesare because he eventually assaulted her and dragged her around while forcing himself on her because she didn't exactly look like the perfect image (mirror of his sister) in his head after she cut her hair. then she got a very brutal end at the hands of the french army, raping her and mutilating her. she lived most of her life being tormented by cruel men. her character makes me so sad thinking about the women who were mistreated and killed by their abusive partners and were lost and forgotten to time because of the patriarchal system since it is beyond horrible towards women.

'Thus he ended his speech, and he doesn't say That he had wronged or spoken ill of the king, But he prayed that God long keep the king In life, in happiness, [in honour], and in contentment. And when, to the people in attendance, he said, With a steadfast countenance, "Pray for me," With a firm heart he presented his head To the sharp blade that carried it off in one blow. [And not fearing the great cruelty Of the sharp blade [...] Each one seeing that people bore great grief from it] The [three] who had to die afterwards Said nothing, as if they intentionally Had entrusted Rochford Alone to speak for their conscience [...] [The Queen] was still so curious [...] Therefore, they tell her that her brother had shown The greatest strength of any man ever seen [...] The story of the death of Anne Boleyn : a poem by Lancelot de Carle, JoAnn DellaNeva (Translator, Editor, Writer of added commentary)
"'I will,' he said in a good lawyerly fashion, 'not in this point arouse any suspicion which might prejudice the king's issue.' Unwilling to drop his line of questioning, Hales next claimed that George had spread malicious reports which called into question the paternity of Anne's child, Elizabeth. George did not dignify this with an answer. He knew his own sister." Hunting the Falcon, John Guy & Julia Fox
"But George refused to answer the question with the required yes or no, not wishing, he said, “to engender or create suspicion in a matter likely to prejudice the issue the King might have from another marriage.” Nor would he respond to any suggestion that he had spread a rumour that Elizabeth was not Henry’s. The idea that he believed Elizabeth was not the king’s child and that he had repeated such an untruth was, to George, so contemptible that he would not even dignify it with a reply." The Infamous Lady Rochford, Julia Fox
"George Boleyn's real 'crime' was to be Anne Boleyn's brother and Princess Elizabeth's uncle. He was intelligent and spirited enough to mount a powerful defence of his sister. He was powerful enough to provide the focus for Boleyn followers and, especially, those who would assert Elizabeth's rights as heir to the crown." Anne Boleyn, Josephine Wilkinson
#tsf repeated the line of 'george sealed his own fate' which pissed me off...so much#(yes these are screencaps from tsf. don't @ me)#george boleyn#first of all; george's fate was already sealed. so#secondly; i feel like that report from chapuys has been...misinterpreted; possibly?#(unpopular opinion forthcoming): i don't think he repeated what was written on the accusations he was brought#to humiliate henry (although probably this was a bonus)#i think it was more a matter of... he wasn't going to allow them to accuse him of having said something ('not even more replied better')#that they refused to read into the record. and accountability and possibly more a way to give one last blow to cromwell#vis a vis humiliating henry. which is part of why wulfhall was so infuriating#that it was portrayed as cromwell 'tricking' george into doing so.#because the next part (oft omitted which is why i've included it above) is that he won't say anything to impugn the king's issue.#and the NEXT part is to accuse him himself of having spread rumors elizabeth wasn't the king's child#and why would he do that. even his enemies admitted his intelligence#(christopher hales was very closely connected to cromwell and george would've known that if he fucked up it would reflect on cromwell and#thus infuriate henry)#as for his last speech; i wish he was given the credit that anne is given and deserves#which is that his final words were to protect his remaining family#but yeah. so much interesting in de carles. these men being fortified by notcing the crowd was grieving them; not exulting in their ends.

you know what really annoys me
i can say i'm in love with my cat. i can say i'm in love with my home. i can say i'm in love with the stars, and the sunrise, and the mountains and forests and oceans and everyone knows what i mean. it's accepted
but if i say i'm in love with my partner it HAS to be romantic. the only way to be in love with a person is romantic
i don't think that's true. i think you can be in love with anyone, in any type of love. i hate that society has decided being in love is ONLY allowed between two romantic partners
my partner and i are not romantic, but i'm still in love with him. the same way i'm in love with all my friends, and i don't think society should get to tell me that's not a valid form of love

// "Dark Danny/Dan is half Plasmius."
I literally do not give a shit.
I headcanon Dan as 99% Danny, and he only picked up a few things from Plasmius like the teal skin, red eyes, and fangs.
Otherwise, he's Danny. Evil Danny with trauma™️ galore, no more humanity, etc. He snapped. He had enough.
So then, what happened to Plasmius? Because Vlad was technically still alive during Dan's time, "Plasmius" ceased being his own person, or his spirit went back to Vlad. His body/ghost was used for Danny to fuse with and to become more powerful/evil/mad (mad as in insane).
Danny's body (as Phantom) and mind was the one that won out the fusion. It wasn't until after he fused with Plasmius that he started to gain firey white hair, and the rest of his new ghostly features.
Plasmius' mind is not in Dan. There is no Vlad there. It is Danny without any ounce of humanity left.

random question time ✨ favourite movie? (or if you don't do favourites then a good movie you would recommend to someone) And if they were remaking it/never made it and you could recast/cast it, who would you chose? Would you change director/dp? Maybe change a soundtrack? (kinda build-a-bearmovie question I guess :)))

favourite eighties classics: overboard, romancing the stone, trading places
