Out of the characters in knb who do you think is most likely to actually make it into the NBA and have a good career?
Aomine, Kagami, Kise and possibly Nebuya. I feel like whilst Midorima will remain pro, he's the first to quit to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Akashi and Kuroko have talent but with their height? We have to be realistic and Akashi will have to take over the company someday. I don't see Murasakibara actually passionate enough to go to the NBA, and Himuro to continue his pattern of just not making the cut by an inch. The other three of the GOM? Kagami, Kise and Aomine still are tall enough to get by and all three have exceptional talent so I can see them making it. Though Kise because of his modelling career will be that one athlete who works themselves into becoming a genuine star with talk shows and trying out acting. I feel like considering Kotaro also skates, that he actually will pursue a career in skating instead of basketball. Kiyoshi's knee injury will likely prevent him from reaching the NBA heights, but also that Hanamiya's dirty playing style will someday catch up to him and kill his career. I personally do like to believe in karma, so... Whilst Mibuchi is a brilliant player, I don't see him going to the States to pursue a further career and will remain as part of the Japanese basketball elite. He just seems like one of those people who's content to live and die on the soil they were born on. Nebuya is a different case. With his physique and passion I can definitely see him having NBA potential, but unless Akashi actually helps him improve his skillset which Kiyoshi had pointed out was a bit weak, I don't see him making it very far however.

Interviewer: So, what does Cleveland Cavaliers’Aomine Daiki usually eat for breakfast? Where do you go for breakfast? Any fast food? Diners?
Aomine, already angry for wasting time on these types of stupid questions: Between Tetsu’s legs
- And that’s why Daiki doesn’t do interviews without his PR anymore

The Thoughtful cases of Aomine and Kise [tentative title]
Aomine Daiki/Kise Ryouta
Alternate Universe - College/University
*To be posted on AO3*
Prologue
It's unfair, he thinks, how the one thing that curbed your boredom, gave you life and friends that lasts a lifetime, is the same thing that's giving him grief and pain now.
He finally got the courage to get consulted by a doctor, to have his ankle checked properly after all this time. It was half on a whim and half because he'd felt off kilter. He'd been feeling off recently, way off; more than during his time in Teiko and a whole lot more than when he was in high school.
It hurts, it causes his chest to constrict and his blood running cold when the doctor had given him news that the damage is enough to warrant rehabilitation, and that any more strain to his ankle and he might not be able to play basketball ever again, or walk even—though, the latter is more of a worst case scenario, the possibility of it happening is still very much there.
It's so not fair, not when he's barely just started university, not when he's barely just joined the team and started practice.
What can he do though?
It's not like basketball was his first choice of career to begin with, now that he thinks about it, had he ever thought about making a career out of basketball? With his modelling taking off to much greater heights, was basketball as a career choice in the forefront of his mind? If anything, the reason he came to love basketball was—
"Sorry—ah, if it isn't the famous and popular, Kise-kun!”
Well, as glad as he is to finally have gotten his ankle examined and is taking measures to not damage it further, he quit the basketball team. Can he let it go?
Coming up to the captain with a resignation letter was one of the most painful things he'd experienced. His heart was pounding, ears ringing. He might've held the paper a little too tightly, made creases here and there as the captain looked at him in the eyes and thanked him for having joined the team, no matter how short, the hand on his shoulder as the team captain gave him a smile, sincerity in his eyes; why did it felt like he was disappointing people?
"This sucks… so much," he murmured to himself just before he'd gotten to his apartment and got the privacy he wanted.
Body moving on autopilot as he moved through the hallway and into the living room.
Sucking in a shaky breath, he stumbles to his sofa, his body freezing cold and boiling hot simultaneously as his knees hit the floor, fingers twisting the sofa's cushions as he doubled over, face buried so deep into the cushions that he's gasping for breath even more than he has to and—
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh," the scream he lets out aches, trembles through his chest, flows to his entire body. It makes his throat ache, raw and voice broken as he sobs the pain of leaving basketball behind. Shoulders shaking and chest heaving from anguish.
Truly, he thinks, it's unfair.
In all honesty, he'd never thought he'd get scouted, for the national team—at the time he’d accepted the thought but not really, it wasn't the NBA but better than nothing, right?
Except, here he is now, right where he's wanted to be, training and training endlessly to finally go pro. Go toe to toe against the big boys, in a country where basketball is more than just a hobby or an extracurricular sport, thousands of kilometers away from home. He's not as early as Kagami's draft for a team—who left for America a little into their second year in high school—but he still got in six months after the red-head left for the States.
He’ll catch up in no time.
The ball shoots flawlessly into the hoop, practically having thrown it with one hand from the free throw line before wiping the sweat trailing down his cheek with the neck of his shirt.
If—no, when things go according to plan, he'd be in the Cleveland Cavaliers once the season starts, probably not as a starting player, but it’s still better than nothing. It makes the adrenaline pump through his veins, the excitement building up, winding him tight like a coil.
He sees it then, gaze far away as he stands under the stadium lights, the smell of salonpas and sounds of basketball shoes squeaking against the polished wooden floor, players warming up from both sides of the court. Presented with players taller than him, bigger than him; just imagining it gets his blood pumping and heart racing.
And the images are completely broken when the shrill ringing of his phone finally registers in his brain. It stops just as he heaves a sigh and makes his way to the benches for his bag before the ringing starts again. There's only one person stubborn enough to keep ringing him more than once.
"Sa-" his best friend's name is barely uttered when Momoi goes straight into the meat of what she's calling for.
"Ki-chan quit basketball!" There's the usual whine of sympathy in her voice, but it's also laced with worry and sorrow. It takes him a second or two to comprehend the words spoken, Momoi having said it so fast that it almost sounded like one whole word. "So?" He asks in reply, after all, what does she expect him to do when he's half way across the world? Not only that but he's scarcely spoken to the other man ever since he left Japan.
"'So'? That's all you're going to say? Did you even hear me!? Ki-chan quit basketball!"
"Yeah, what am I supposed to do? I'm not there, besides, we're not close. What do I have to do with him quitting?"
Momoi is quiet, the line barely making a crackle of noise that for a moment he thought his childhood friend had hung up on him. "It was his ankle, Dai-chan…"
What was he supposed to say to that? He knew, hell, the person in question literally couldn't stand up after that game during their first year. Hasn't he just started university too? "Dai-chan," Momoi whispers, "he's going to be doing physiotherapy for his ankle."
There's a sudden chill in the room, bone-deep and freezing his blood over. When was the last time they had a one-on-one before he moved? Was it just before he had to go to the airport or was it even more before that? Doesn't that mean that he won't be able to play anymore, even if it's a casual game?
His ears are ringing, piercing and aching through his head, subconsciously he tightens his grip on his phone. "Dai-chan? Are you there?"
His responding hum is nothing but autopilot, still turning the idea of him going back home and not playing a one-on-one. One of the constants in his life that came back after the Winter Cup and the whole streetball against Jabberwock. Wait, was it his fault, then? He was the one to push the other, made him develop his Perfect Copy, hell, he’s pretty sure he even helped, no matter how little, into him entering the Zone.
Thoughts race through his mind, what does he say? What does he do? What can he say? What can he do? “Did—do the others know?” There’s a short crackle of something rustling, probably Momoi shaking her head or something, then speaks, “So far, Akashi-kun knows, but I think Tetsu-kun knows too.”
For some reason, that makes the pit in his chest deepen, his lungs constricted as if it collapsed on itself, his stomach churning uncomfortably. He hears Satsuki breathe in as if she still has more to say but he doesn’t think he can listen to more, to process it and all. So he does what he always does, he ends the call without a second thought, staring despondently at the dark screen of his phone.
It takes a few seconds but the screen lights up again, his childhood friend’s name displayed, calling him again, this time, he throws it on top of his bag, the ringing in his ears louder than his ringtone.
“It’s quite unfortunate to bear the news of you quitting.” He blinks at the man across from him, calmly picking up his drink to take a sip through the straw. There’s warmth in his chest, to hear his former captain’s words, familiar scarlet gaze returning his own amber ones. “Aww, it’s so great to hear you be worried about me, Akashicchi!” He coos, the red-head simply wears a small smile.
“But of course, despite what we’ve been through, you were still under my care, Kise.”
He flushes, his cheeks feeling warmer than the summer air, rubbing his nape and looking down at his own drink. A pregnant pause befalls them, the noise of other patrons in the cafe nothing but background noise, he purses his lips, tries not to pout in his own self-loathing and disappointment. “I’m sorry, I won’t be able to play with you or the others anymore.”
Akashi hums, his smile now reassuring and gaze sympathetic. It takes everything not to see it as some twisted sarcastic pity for his situation. He reaches out between them, a hand on top of his own in a comforting squeeze. He really doesn’t want to cry, especially when the last thing he wants is for Akashi to feel embarrassed to be with someone who’s sobbing his eyes out but he can’t, long lashes catching tears, pink cheeks streaked with spilling regret and heartache.
Akashi doesn’t say anything, simply holds his hand as he bows his head and cries under the privacy of being hidden by his bangs.
It’s ironic to meet with his friends at a basketball court. Summer sun shining beautifully but their expressions hold the same sadness he feels. He’s not trying to get pity from others by telling them but they’re the friends he’s cherished and loves, he keeps them close because out of everybody he’s met and befriending, they’re the ones he knows he can count on. Momoi’s eyes are glinting with unshed tears as he bears the news. Murasakibara offers him a snack to “cheer up, Kise-chin”, Midorima apologizes in that roundabout way he does when he has nothing to really be apologizing for, he and Momoi hug each other tight, and Kuroko gives him that determined look he gets, as if to tell him “my games will be in your behalf”.
It’s all so incredibly heartwarming and endearing that he burst into tears right on the spot.
He’s in a mix of tangled emotions. He’s lost in which path to take when the road he’d been treading is suddenly blocked off. Kuroko had called Kagami with his permission to let him know too, afterall, despite the distance, they’re still friends. Kagami gave such an awkward response that it made him giggle through the tears until, “I can’t say how despairing that may be and I’m really sad that I won’t be able to play with you for one-on-ones or team plays anymore but I’m also pleased to hear that you’re finally getting treated, Kise.”
He and Kuroko then bickered after that (“I didn’t think that you know what ‘despairing’ meant, Kagami-kun.”, “Ah-!? I know words, Kuroko!”, “That didn’t seem to apply for our exams, however.”, “You—!”). It was funny to watch, to say the least.
However, when Momoi asked if she could tell about his situation to her childhood friend, he felt a bit of panic course through his veins. “I think I’ll tell him myself.” He’d told her.
In the end, Momoi told him on his behalf.
Unable to even think about what he would say, what face will he be showing; will he be glad? Or just as heartbroken? Will he not say anything at all? Afterall, they’re not as close as they used to be, no matter how many times he wishes on a shooting star for them to go back to how it was before.
With the other being half-way across the world, will they ever go back?
In his stay in America, the one thing he can say is that moving from one place to another is the biggest hassle he still hasn’t overcome. Besides, there’s so many people around, is it his fault that he’s late?
Okay, maybe he is. He overslept for several minutes, but at least he’s only late by ten minutes. An absolute win in his book.
Kagami is scowling at him once they see each other, grumbling about how he had to wait under the September sun; it’s still hot enough to be uncomfortable but cold enough where you can feel it whilst standing under a shade. “C’mon, let’s eat.” He starts off, and Kagami goes on a little rant about how he should at least apologize for making him wait, not answering calls or texts, or updating him. He shrugs his shoulders and responds with, “You sound like an overbearing girl, stop it and let’s eat.” Kagami, still glaring at him, agrees.
They sit down across from one another, people bustling around them, Kagami’s a little preoccupied with his phone, a small grin then his face is back to that stupid-looking expression he always has. Completely out of nowhere, he says, “How are we old enough to be drafted to be in the NBA but still considered not old enough to drink?” The red-head blinks at him, he thinks he saw one of his brows twitch, a slight pout to his lips, “I’ve never really… Thought about it?” A pause, “Why?”
He shrugs, leaning back into his seat and lets out a yawn, “Just find it weird how we’re technically considered legal but not legal enough, apparently.”
Kagami hums in thought. It’s quiet between them then, aside from a waiter coming up to them to take their orders, they simply sit there, waiting. He knows that Kagami knows, can tell by the stiffness of his shoulders that he wants to ask about what he thinks or something.
In the end, it’s when they find a street court, that it’s brought up. They’re sweaty and breathless. A score of 20-19, with Kagami being the latter, of course. “Have you heard?” He asks tentatively and all he can say is a mundane “yeah”. What else is there to say? For him to say?
The red-head sighs, dribbling the ball with his left hand. “Don’t you have any thoughts on it?”
Seriously. “Not really. Doesn’t matter.”
“Yeah, but you guys were former teammates and in the same school and everything.”
“Can’t say anything about a person who’s changed, idiot.” Kagami blinks at him, “Geez, for all I know, he moved to the countryside and tried to live as a farmer.” He gestures for him to pass the ball. “It sucks, yeah, but I’m not him and he’s not me. Last thing I want is to be putting words into his mouth or whatever.”
Kagami keeps looking at him like he wants to point something out but is debating if he should or shouldn’t. Instead, he passes him the ball, seemingly off-handed he mutters, “There it is,” he’d ask about it but Kagami’s reaching out for a steal and his mind blanks and his body moves.
It’s on the way home later that night that he mind-numbingly pulls his phone out to look at the numbers saved in his contacts, and realizes he doesn’t even have his phone number saved. There’s his current coach’s and team’s numbers, his family’s, Satsuki’s, and Kagami’s and Tetsu’s but nothing from Akashi, Midorima, Murasakibara. Or Kise’s.
He can probably send a message through social media but he doesn’t want to pull out an old, inactive Twitter account; he doesn’t have Instagram; he has a Facebook account that he also doesn’t use—through Messenger could work but will whatever message he’ll send even reach the person he’s trying to talk to?
Kise probably has everything personal to him is set to private. No, he’s certain that it is.
He can ask Momoi for a copy but he’ll have to deal with her hounding for answers. Asking Kuroko would feel a bit weird, he’d probably goad him about how bad of a friend he is to not have his former teammate’s number. He definitely isn’t asking anything from Kagami even if they’d gotten closer than before and them meeting up every other week is a reprieve he tries to enjoy with someone familiar.
What should he do now? Blank dark blue eyes staring at the ceiling of his apartment. Actually, why is he worrying about how he’d reach Kise when he doesn’t even know what he’s going to say. Kise can handle himself, can’t he?
“He’s probably crying like a baby, like usual, right now.” He informs no one. He’s completely bothered by the other’s situation that he can’t wrap his head around it. An inexplicable urge to get up and fly back home just to see him, to be seen with those sparkling gold eyes and to hear that familiar sing-song cadence as he calls him (“Aominecchi!”). What should he do, with this feeling?
Sneakers squeak along the polished floor, the sound of thudding balls echoing, voices a cacophony of white noise as he practically takes up one half of the court. He doesn’t like the way he can feel his coach’s eyes trained on his back, as if observing him with a magnifying glass. A few minutes passed by and in the vulnerability of him drinking water, his coach made a move.
“Your mind’s floating away. Everything all right?” He exhaled, and nodded an affirmative. As much as it annoys him to admit it, his speaking is still a little rough. “If something’s bothering you, don’t hesitate to reach out, Daiki.” Inwardly, he cringes at the way his name rolls awkwardly off of the older man’s tongue, but he nods nonetheless. Not like he’ll be able to voice it out properly anyway.
With that, his coach goes back to where he stood, watching the others and giving advice or reprimanding when needed. He tries not to let it dwell within, the flash of gold enough to reel himself back the moment he’d heard his coach’s words.
The ball easily passes through the hoop, barely touching the rim. Just as the ball hits the floor with a thud, he walks up to his bag, phone in his grasp.
To: Satsuki
Send me a copy of Kise’s number
His former highschool teammates all gape at him in disbelief, and if asked, he is still too. Who wouldn't believe it? To suddenly find out that you won't be able to do something that's practically been a steady stream in your life, that thin thread cut from your life.
It's only been a few days and every morning, he'd have to remind himself you have to stretch your leg, do as your therapist said, don't skip a day, it pulls him back and slaps him in the face of reality. It's a fresh wound that seems to grow ever deeper.
They all say their words, no different from other Generation of Miracles and then it's back to that tensioned carefree atmosphere that university students hold.
When the time comes for them to part ways, Kasamatsu hits him upside in the back of his head, the spot throbs but as he lifts his head to look at the older male, unshed tears in his eyes, Kasamatsu is glowering at him. "Stop sulking, idiot. If you have the time for that, then focus on getting better! Nothing will happen if you don't do anything, stupid."
"Kasamatsu-senpai…"
The dark haired man sighs, fingers running through blonde locks in a moment of gentle care, "I don't know what made you finally get your ankle checked but I'm glad that you did. Anymore and I don't even want to think about the consequences."
Kise sniffs, a shaky exhale escaping him. "I'm sorry." For not listening to you before. It goes unsaid, yet Kasamatsu pulls him in for a hug, petting his hair and running his other hand down his back, soothing whispers into his ear. It breaks him even more. "I don't want to quit!" He tells the older, clutching tightly at his shirt.
As expected, Momoi calls him, asks in that shit-eating way if he's gotten sick and in his deathbed or if he's been replaced by a "more caring Dai-chan?" He grits his teeth through it all, waits for Satsuki's probing to pass by like a very annoying, loud breeze.
"Really, though, didn't you have Ki-chan's number?" From before?
"No, I don't." Because I didn't bother to save it at the time.
"Well, then, I guess I can send you a copy," because I know you're worried. They hang up the call and within a minute he has Kise's number saved in his contacts and his best friend's "don't bully him too much!" in his inbox.

hello hi 🌸 💗 i love ur headcanons so i hope im not bothering u by asking this!
what are ur headcanons for older kagami from knb? what do u think his personality would be like, relationship with family, friends? would he stay friends with any of the GoM or his highschool friends? who would he be closest with? is he in a relationship, and with who? does he get married? want kids? does he go through any changes or crises?
u don't have to answer any of these if they make u uncomfortable but if u do thank u for it! i hope u have a good day!
Hi there!! I hope you have a good day too, I definitely had a pleasant one, esp after seeing this ask! This got a lil long so I’m gonna put it under a cut asdgja
I love to think about the boys’ future, and since Kagami’s my favorite when it comes to picking a basketball brain I love thinking about older Kagami!! I think from the outside, he’s even more intimidating and menacing-looking than he is as a teenager: he probably grows a few inches in height and also in width, bulking up mainly to his shoulders and his arms. He wears his course hair shorter, and he grows a small beard or a goatee, accentuating his chin - altho he really doesn’t always remember to shave, so there’s usually some stubble all over his face, too. Even his eyes seem darker, with his overall stark complexion, but it just means his face lights up all the more when he smiles!
My favorite depiction of older Kagami is still very much rough around the edges, now more than ever, because I like to think that he never gets drafted into the NBA - everyone can’t always achieve their dreams, after all. It’s definitely a huge slap in the face for him, and for a while, he doesn’t even really play basketball. For that period of time, he works for his dad, and he’s estranged from everyone who’s ever been very close to him, including Kuroko and the Seirin team.
He basically snaps out of it when he reunites with Himuro and Alex and they tell him that, “hey.... you can literally still play basketball not getting drafted is not the end of the world, dumbass”, and so he starts to hang out at streetball courts again, play with local kids, teach them a few moves that were apparently too weak sauce for the NBA but they’re plenty fun when it comes to impressing teenagers and curious children.
After that, he quickly finds himself again, quits his job at his dad’s company and comes back to Japan because he realizes that he needs to live his own life and it starts by living where he truly felt at “home”. He finds a western-style diner in Tokyo to work at as a chef, and finally calls Kuroko back, apologizing profusely for the months/years of silence. He reassures Kuroko that he won’t ever disappear like that again, and they always keep in touch after that, because their friendship is for a lifetime.
Kuroko re-introduces him into their group of friends, because of course he would be talking to everyone: the GoM, the guys from Seirin, even some people from the other teams. They play basketball every Friday afternoon/evening with the guys from GoM and whoever is willing and ready to join them, and then they go out to have a few drinks at the local pub.
During the most turbulent years of Kagami’s life, he doesn’t exactly go out looking for his special someone. His love life simply wasn’t a priority to him, and he’s fine on his own - he’s not lonely, he has Kuroko to talk to, Himuro to call, and now, his friends to stand by him. His last relationship was with Aomine, and it. didn’t, exactly, end well, as Kagami recalls. They had a few fights, as how dumb teenagers in love, trying to figure themselves out would do, and when it became too overwhelming, they ended it. Maybe when they meet again, become friendly again, Aomine already has a partner who has inspired him to do better and get better with his depression, or maybe he did that to himself, and there’s just so much tension between the two of them now - so many stolen glances, so many words stuck in their throat, so many what-ifs hanging in the air.
I like to think that they end up together, after all. Maybe they stay too late at the pub one Friday evening, beer after beer until their inhibitions loosen and they start speaking freely about how they feel now and what had hurt them in the past. The conversation goes on when they’re sober, too, and maybe Kuroko helps them sort it out as the mediator he so often is, and Kagami and Aomine get to start over, as better, more balanced, more attentive and self-aware people. And this time, they stay together for good.
I don’t believe either of them would be very passionate about having kids - sure, it would be nice, they’d say, but it’s not a commitment they would be willing to take on until at least they’re forty. By the time they are, most of their friends (Kise, Kuroko, Momoi, even Murasakibara) have kids of their own that they occasionally babysit/co-parent, and they also have a group of children at the nearby streetball court that they’re coaching slash raising. They have a lot of love for those kids, all of them, and they don’t miss having a child on their own when they have so many they care about already. Kagami even cooks for the kids from the court sometimes, and they spend most of their summers in California, and when he has Aomine and his friends by his side, Kagami doesn’t even regret it that he never went pro.

hey there! if you're up for it, can we get some fluffy future aokaga hcs if they were firefighter!kagami and officer!aomine rather than pro/nba?
thank you for sharing with us! your aokaga hcs give me so much life and make my day 💖
Fluffy firefighter/officer headcanons, huh? Let me see what I can do.
-They work their schedules with each other so they’re always on the same shifts. No way is one potentially going to a call without the other one on scene.
-They always hang around each other’s stations during shift too, so they’re always getting made fun of by their coworkers.
-Have they accidentally shown up to work in each other’s uniforms? Absolutely. Especially on a night shift.
-Though you know if it ever ends up that one of them can’t respond to an emergency the other one will be at, their whole department will look after the other. This is especially true for the police force. They have to make sure the scene is clear before Kagami can go and do something stupid like a rescue while on an active shooter scene.
-They’re always there to comfort one another after a heinous call. The first time Kagami actually witnessed a gun being pointed at Aomine, he had to call out for the rest of the week. The police force gave Aomine the rest of the week paid due to him having to actually fire his weapon, which helped Kagami.
-The flip side is also true for Aomine. When he watched Kagami charge headfirst into a blazing fire to rescue a child, it took everything in Aomine to stay where he was and keep the passerby’s behind the tape.
-They really can’t understand why the other would put themselves in completely different dangerous situations, but they’ve come to terms with it.
-Plenty of nights have be spent where they’re both laying awake comforting the other due to the nature of their jobs. The first time Aomine took a life, Kagami knew he had to be the rock. The first time Kagami drug, what ended up being, a deceased body out of a fire, Aomine had to take care of the cleaning and cooking for a solid month. Cooking without the use of a stove proved to be a difficult challenge that month.
-Every night they make sure they confess their love for one another before falling asleep. Who knows if they’ll be able to hear it again.
-Please don’t listen to the radio when these two are working the same shift. May God have mercy on your soul if you have to switch to their channel to inform them of a call.
-They have tried switching jobs for a day multiple times but it.... doesn’t go well. Kagami is not a fan of guns and Aomine is just not a fan of fire in general.
-They both are each other’s go to backup, which quickly gets them recognized and have them moving up the ranks faster than most of their buddies.
-Kagami has watched Aomine frisk both men and women in the field. It lit a jealous fire in him that will not be put out until they retire.
-Aomine has watched Kagami carry both men and women and seen those people basically profess their love to Kagami on the street. There have been a few times women have been so appreciative they’ve kissed Kagami on the lips and Aomine’s hand grips the handle of his gun so tight. Kagami gets flustered, but after the scene dies down Aomine makes sure everyone knows who Kagami belongs to.
-They may get a lot of shit from their coworkers for being openly gay in emergency fields, but if anyone from the outside shows a little bit of disgust or homophobia, both groups are quick to defend.

Not fic - Spoilers for Last Game
The parts not in Extra Game, so caveat lector.
Finished Last Game and I feel so vindicated! My version of the KnB future always had Aomine and Kagami as NBA pros, and now it’s as canon as it’ll ever get. My fics are now more canonical than I’d ever thought they’d be!

“story-kat replied to your post “jp artists on twitter are writing...”
I don't know, we recruit overseas quite often, but we do it for collage age kids. I had always assumed that most if not all of the GoM & Kagami would get college scholarships. They were to amazing to not be heard of, but they would have finished high school. But, I understand that the culture is different and I accept that. For me it just breaks Kagami's character to much (heck and the meaning of the manga) for me to be able to appreciate it.*and then the NBA recruits on it's own from other countries (not as often) and from colleges.
oh yeah they would, but imo only Aomine would actually go off and be a pro bc let’s face it? he wouldnt make a good cop in japan XD and i dont see him doing anything else. most of them would get jobs and play basketball as a hobby because they are not suited for the enviorment. so 5 years of college ball? yes. whole career in JBA/NBA? not really. I also accept that. I accept that it’s a dumb au ending and that’s all.

Aomine’s Future (Headcanon)
Now, I’m not going to ignore arguably the most popular KNB husbando out there! I hope you all enjoy and forgive me for the minor sidenote at the end. -Obviously he’s going to move to the US in the future, and I think he’s going to stay there for the rest of his life and not go back to Japan once his career at the NBA is over. -But, he will definitely still be into things from back home like idol culture. -Whilst he is interested in joining the police force after his career, I don’t think he will actually go through with that as devoting his time to making people abide the rules when he seems to hate them himself wouldn’t work out for him. That’s more of a young boy’s fantasy he will grow out off. -I can, however, see him finish his auto-biography and perhaps write a book or two more, but being a writer won’t be his main job after his NBA days. -He will probably work in the athletic world for the rest of his life, he’s a basketball junkie. Whether he becomes a coach, or a sports commentator, Aomine is not giving up on basketball. Ever. -Considering he’s going to Cleveland, and according to the internet, its actually really big in the beer industry, can I see Aomine rewatching his old matches with his fridge stocked with beer? Yes. He’s definitely that kind of guy. -He might own a few lame baseball caps. -Doesn’t settle down before 30. Perhaps not even before he hits his forties. -I can see him owning a dog or two as an adult. -He certainly has his own jacuzzi and a pool. Guy’s a bath-time fan. -He’ll definitely use that bubble bath of his to impress the women he takes home. -Would prefer girls who like beer over girls who don’t. -Over time, I can see him evolving from a big boob guy to a guy who loves a big boobs + large ass combo.  -I can imagine him trying to pick up good looking dweebs for one night stands using being a Japanese athlete to his advantage. (I can even imagine him actually having tried to pull the ‘I’m hot and Japanese’ on Alex but it wouldn’t work due to the age gap). -Unless Momoi were to start pursuing him, I feel like he’ll end up with an American girl. -If he goes on the route of marrying another celeb, then he’ll end up with a Japanese-American idol. No doubt about it. This man is a huge idol fan, and one that’s actually living in the US and could even teach him more about the country would be a big bonus for him. -If he goes on the route of marrying a normal American girl, I feel like he won’t go for an Asian girl but white or black, actually. I mean, I do think Aomine would be into some of black culture and a curvy black woman, but canonically he has only expressed interest in white women like Marilyn Monroe and Alex when it comes to foreign women so either of the two are on table. He’s definitely interested into an interracial relationship (which leads me to another one who I think is pro-interracial and my side-note).
(the only other character we know is fan of an American actress, is Midorima as he likes Elizabeth Taylor. With him going to Boston and all, yes, I can see this guy being into British white girls, and likely north-west European white girls in general. This guy definitely would prefer the traditional old world over the new world, and the countries of this area are rich, influential and most of them are innovators in the medical technology field, etc. So I can see Midorima actually developping an interest in that region of Europe and considering moving to any of these countries after his NBA days. Also, did you know the Olympic gold medalist, the Flying Dutchman, Epke Zonderland, has also studied medicine? Just imagine these two handsome athletes working at the same hospital. I feel like there would be women who’d get sick/injured on purpose, just saying).

I LOVE your pro nba Aomine with Kuroko. Can I request a fic where they’ve been dating a while and Aomine purposes during one of his games or maybe after winning an important one?? I just love Aomine being in love.
Let’s start with forever
Tumblr media
✎ author notes: this one fic was requested various times in my inbox! I had around six inboxes about pro-NBA Aomine proposing to kuroko. I appreciate the eagerness ❥ I know that a tip-off is usually between the tallest player of each team. For story purposes, aomine and Kagami will be doing the tip-off. Also, I know NOTHING about basketball. (:
✎ pairing: aomine daiki x kuroko tetsuya // aokuro
✎ content warning: cursing, implied sexual activity.

Aomine Daiki was a blessed man.
After the basketball game against Jabberwock, many American basketball scouts had approached him.
Initially, Kagami was supposed to leave for America to play basketball for respected high schools, but Aomine had also caught their eyes. How could the scouts leave such raw talent behind?
They couldn't.
After a long talk with his parents, he kissed Japan goodbye and left with Kagami to pursue their dreams as NBA players.
He never regretted leaving Japan, but he sure as hell regretted leaving Tetsu behind.
So after a year or two went by, Aomine (19) flew back to Japan to win over the man of his dreams.
After a long road of persistence and dedication, Kuroko's walls tumbled down and accepted the fine man that was Aomine Daiki as his boyfriend.
The beginning of their relationship was a nightmare.
Long-distance dragged them through hell and back. Kuroko was a freshman at the University of Tokyo pursuing a degree in early childhood education, while Aomine joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as their newly signed player.
The time zones never matched, and therefore, it was either early morning conversations or late night calls.
Pictures of Aomine seen with various women at clubs made Kuroko insecure, but Aomine would always call and clear up misunderstandings.
"I went out with my team," Aomine's voice carried over through the phone. "Sure, they're beautiful women, but I'm in love with you. I would never do that to you, Tetsu."
"I know you wouldn't," Kuroko softly sniffed, "It's hard reading the headlines of your next potential romance or if you're having a fling with some model. You're so far away, Daiki. And I can't do anything about it. All I want is to be with you."
"You know what they say; distance makes the heart grow fonder, no?" Aomine lightly joked before affirming, "I know. I want you here with me too. Do you know how much I think about you? A lot. No one's ever loved anyone as much as I love you."
And when the public found out that Aomine Daiki was dating a man, homophobic slurs and comments flooded Aomine's socials.
The couple received support and hate.
The fans of Aomine had an unspoken law between them: Kuroko Tetsuya is an angel, and no harm shall come to him.
Although haters expressed their dislike towards Aomine's private life,  Aomine didn't care. How could he ever try and deny his love for Tetsu? They could eat shit for all he cares.
Five years later, Aomine (24) was living his dreams as a young pro-NBA Allstar- dominating the court with 82 points on average.
He carried his team to the NBA championships, landing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the final match-up with the Chicago Bulls.
At the same time, Kuroko Tetsuya (24) had finished his university career and decided to visit his boyfriend in America for a while.
Daiki was close to winning his first championship, and he had his beautiful boyfriend by his side. What else could he want?

It was a beautiful sunny morning in Los Angeles, California. The two love birds were lying in bed together, chatting their morning away.
"'m serious, Tetsu," Aomine had one arm wrapped around Kuroko's waist, "Say the word, and I'll give you anything your pretty heart desires."
Kuroko had his head on Aomine's shoulder; his body turned to his boyfriend as his fingers drew light circles on Aomine's bare chest. "So if I say I want to go to Paris?"
"Two tickets to first class."
"If I want an expensive car?"
"It's yours."
"Wanted you to rent out a movie theater just for us?" Kuroko challenged.
"What movie are we watching?" Aomine smirked. Kuroko playfully rolled his eyes, a small affectionate smile on his face.
Aomine grabbed the hands at his chest, playing with Kuroko's slender fingers, "So, who are you gonna be rooting for at the championship tomorrow?"
"Both of you," Kuroko replied, watching Aomine intertwine their fingers. "Kagami-kun is a fantastic player, and he worked just as hard as you. I'm excited to see my boyfriend and my best friend on the court."
Aomine clicked his tongue, "Wrong answer." He flipped over, pinning Kuroko to their bed. "You were supposed to pick me, Tetsu." Aomine pressed small pecks on Kuroko's cheeks before gradually moving down to his jaw.
A burst of laughter tore through Kuroko's chest as he squirmed under Aomine's lips. "Stop it! You need to shave- that tickles."
Aomine pulled back, "Whaaat? You don't like the stubble?" He said before rubbing his chin on Kuroko's cheek.
"Daiki!" Kuroko tittered, desperately trying to pull away. "No, I don't like the stubble!"
Aomine stopped his attack. "Oh, really?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Either shave or grow it out." Kuroko huffed, laying his hand on the back of Aomine's neck.
"You weren't saying that last night," Aomine hummed, "In fact, I recall your thighs squeezing tightly around my head--"
Kuroko cut him off with a short kiss. When he pulled away, he whispered, "You're the worst."
"You love me nonetheless," Aomine mumbled and leaned down to kiss him, lips nipping Kuroko's before sliding his tongue between them.
A repeat of last night was an excellent way to start their day.

"Fans are going wild in the crowd this evening!" A sports commentator ecstatically shouts to his partner. "Do you hear those roars?"
"Absolutely, Ryan!" The other matched his partner's energy. "This game has been highly anticipated since the preliminaries! Both teams have strong aces!"
"Chicago Bulls' Taiga Kagami versus Cleveland Cavaliers' Daiki Aomine! Both have one of the most famous beef in NBA history!"
"That's right, Chad! Both are known to call each other out on Twitter, and let's not forget that New York scandal where they got into a physical confrontation!"
"How can we forget, Ryan? Daiki is a powerhouse- scoring 82 points on average. He's confident, and his standoff-ish arrogance makes him stick out. Love him or hate him; he's the best of the best!"
"Exactly! But you also forget the beast that is Taiga! He's also on par with Daiki- scoring 80 points on average. He's got the talent and height power! His drive to be the best pays off because that's exactly what he is!"
"What you said is why the stadium is crowded tonight! Everyone wants to know; who is the best? Who will take home the win and ring tonight! Will it be Chicago Bull's Taiga Kagami? Or Cleveland Cavaliers' Daiki Aomine!"
"And look who we have in the crowd tonight!" The cameras pan to Kuroko, who waves when he sees himself on the big screen. "It's Aomine's long-term boyfriend, Kuroko Tetsuya! That's so sweet, Ryan! He's out here supporting both his boyfriend and Taiga."
"Isn't he adorable?" Ryan cooed, "Oh! And here they come, Chad!" The commentator exclaims as the cameras pan over to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls entering the court.
Kuroko had a good seat- courtesy of Aomine and Kagami. He could see the court and the players nicely.
He cheers when he sees Kagami on the big screen. Kagami gives the camera a thumbs up.
He smiled widely and cheered a bit louder when Aomine appeared on the big screen next.
Aomine notices the camera and winks.
"Here we go, Chad!" The crowd roars, "It's the tip-off between Daiki and Taiga! This could tilt the scales for both teams!"
"I'm gonna beat your ass, Kagami," Aomine smirked when he stepped into the center. "You'll be crying while Tetsu and I celebrate."
"Nah, you're the one that's losing," Kagami gave a sly grin. "After you lose, Kuroko can lend you a shoulder to cry on after he's done celebrating with me."
"Ha, ha. You fucker."
"Asshole," Kagami jabbed back.
The referee blows her whistle, "Language." She warned, "Ready?"
The two aces nod, an intense aura fills the court.
When the ref throws the ball into the air, the game begins.
* ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ * ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
"AND HE DOES IT! DAIKI AOMINE BRINGS THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS TO VICTORY!"
The crowd is mixed with whoops and hollers and boos.
Aomine can't register any of it.
He won.
101 - 100.
He fucking won.
His teammates were huddling him- jumping and grabbing onto him excitedly.
"Daiki, you wonderful, cocky bastard!" "I can't believe you got that buzzer-beater in!" "For a second, I thought Taiga had the ball!" "Daiki, you beautiful son of a bitch! You won us rings!"
Aomine has high off his victory.
He can already picture the 'World Champions' engraving on his ring.
He's on cloud-fucking-9, and all he can think about was celebrating with Tetsu.
"Where are you going?!"
Aomine tore away from his team, not bothering to answer their questions.
He ran towards the seats he gave his beautiful supporting boyfriend.
"Tetsu!"
His eyes landed on Kuroko, who had the biggest grin on his face.
And at that moment, time collapses into one speck.
All the noise and people disappear
And it's just them.
Aomine & Tetsu.
And he wouldn't want it any other way.
He wants to share his victories with Tetsu.
His achievements and failures.
His lows and highs.
His whole life with Tetsu.
And only Tetsu.
Kuroko Tetsuya had loved him when he had nothing. And now that he has everything, Kuroko loves him just the same.
His entire universe is within his grasp.
And he'd be stupid not to hold onto that forever.

"I can't believe you're making me wear this fucking trench coat!" Kagami sneered when he met up with Aomine in front of the ring store.
"Put on the sunglasses," Aomine glared behind his pair.
"No!"
"Put them on."
"No."
"Yes."
"No, they look dumb!"
"Put on the fucking goddamn sunglasses, Kagami!"
"Fuck, fine!" Kagami snaps and pulls out the black sunglasses. "Happy now, asshole?"
"Peachy."
"I can't believe I'm ring shopping with you. It looks like we're about to fucking rob the place!"
"It's the only way the paparazzi don't recognize us," Aomine looked around as if saying the 'p-word' would summon them. "I don't want Tetsu knowing I'm gonna propose because those fuckers snapped pictures."
Kagami grumbled under his breath but made no more comments.
"You're Tetsu's best friend, and I'm his boyfriend. Together we can find the perfect ring for him." Aomine pulled on the store's doors, going in after Kagami.
"Yeah, well," Kagami fixed his glasses. "I'm only doing this because Kuroko loves you, and you make him happy."
"Aw, Kagami," Aomine teased as they both walked up to the glass that showcased the rings. "Didn't know you were such a softie."
"Shut up," Kagami replied.
Aomine rubbed his hands together, and he stared down at the rings. "Now, help me find a ring for my future fiancé."
* ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ * ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
"Are we there yet?" Kuroko pouted, shaky hands gripping onto Aomine's as he followed his boyfriend, blindfolded.
"Almost," Aomine replies, "There's a tree root. You gotta jump over, babe."
Kuroko stops walking, "Daiki, please don't let me fall."
"I won't," Aomine reassures. "Do you trust me?"
"I do."
"Then, trust me when I say I won't let you fall."
Kuroko nods and visibly relaxes as Aomine continues to lead them.
"How about now?"
"Tetsu, you asked me that question five seconds ago."
"Yeah, but now I'm excited!"
After a few more minutes of walking, Aomine and Kuroko finally stood still.
"Okay, take them off."
Kuroko pulls at the blindfold, blinking a few times, adjusting his eyes to the light.
"Daiki," He breathes out in awe. The glowing sun almost disappeared behind the mountain tops. The sky was stretched far and wide in hues of orange and purple.
Kuroko's eyes widen further as he takes in the field before them.
An endless field of forget-me-not flowers fully bloomed tied the stunning scenery together.
"How did you find this place?" Kuroko asks, stepping forward, admiring the blue flowers that grew wildly. A sign that no human has ever disturbed their peace.
"I stumbled across this place when I first moved here," Aomine replied, coming from behind Kuroko and wrapping his arms around his boyfriend's waist. "Used to come here and think of you." He rested his chin on Kuroko's shoulder. "Always thought of you."
"Daiki, this is so beautiful."
"That's why it reminds me of you."
"Sap," Kuroko teased.
"Only for you."
"Why did you bring us here?"
Aomine nuzzled himself into the crook of Kuroko's neck. "To celebrate my big win."
"Your first ring," Kuroko smiled. "I'm so proud of you, Daiki.
"Couldn't have done it without your love and support, Tetsu."
As the evening went by and night fell, Aomine and Kuroko lay in the field, admiring the night sky.
Aomine grows nervous with each passing second. He's 99.99% sure Tetsu would say yes, but he's still anxious.
The box in his pocket weighs heavy.
"... Listening?" Kuroko sits up.
"I'm sorry, what?" Aomine shakes the thought out of his head. "What did you say?" He follows Kuroko's actions and sits up next to him.
"Are you okay?" Kuroko glanced at him, concerned. "You've been zoning out."
Aomine took the deepest breathe he's ever taken. I can do this.
"Tetsu," Aomine starts, taking another deep breath as he pulls out the black box in his pocket. Kuroko's eyes widen. "I love you. I loved you back in Teiko, loved you in Seirin, and I love you now. Loving you is the easiest thing I have ever done. I am devoted to you. You stuck with me through the bad days, and you never gave up on us. You're always willing to help everyone, and you have the kindest, purest soul. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I am beyond grateful to have you. You have my heart in this life and the next. Wherever we are, my heart is yours. I wouldn't have come this far without you, and I can't imagine my life without you. I want forever with you. And marrying you would make me the happiest guy in the world. My love, all I am is yours. If you'd take me."
Aomine opens the small box. He doesn't know when he started crying, but they fell.
Kuroko covers his lips with his trembling fingers.
He could only look at Aomine as fat tears fell from his big blue eyes.
Aomine's voice manages not to crack, steady and sure, "Kuroko Tetsuya, will you marry me?"
Kuroko chokes out a sob of laughter. His lips spread into one of those grins that leave Aomine speechless. He nods quickly, "Yes," He chokes out before throwing himself at Aomine. Both fall back into the field, "Yes! Yes, yes, yes, oh my god, yes, I'll marry you, Daiki!
Kuroko leans down and captures Aomine in a soft, sweet kiss. When he pulls away, he scatters kisses around Aomine's face.
"Yes," kiss.
"Onehundredperecentyes," kiss.
"I'll marry you," kiss.
"I'll marry the crap out of you, Daiki!" Kiss.
"I love you so much," kiss, "love you forever." kiss.
Aomine laughs, placing his hands on Kuroko's waist. "You can't take it back, Tetsu. You've already said yes."
"Good, because I want to be stuck with you." Kuroko kissed him one last time before hopping off of Aomine. "I can't wait to tell the others!"
"Satsuki's and Kise are gonna scream," Aomine reached for the box and took out the ring. "May I?"
Kuroko nods quickly, flushed. "Yes."
Aomine slides the simple yet elegant band onto Kuroko's finger. "Kagami helped me pick it out."
"I love it," Kuroko looked at the ring that fit his finger perfectly. The gems were the slightest of blue if you looked closely. "It's perfect."
"We're getting married," Aomine whispered, an affectionate look spread crossed his face.
"We're getting married," Kuroko whispered back before tackling Aomine once again into the ground.
Aomine's too enamored with Kuroko to give two fucks about that being the cheesiest shit he's ever done.
Feeling Kuroko's wandering hands under his shirt, Aomine couldn't help but think how happy he was.
Aomine Daiki was a blessed man.

“I just won the first game of the season, and you want to talk ‘bout fruit?” Aomine glanced at the camera and back the the interviewer.
The interviewer gulped, “Well—uh—”
Aomine smirked, “Sure, I’ll bite.” Aomine grabbed the microphone from the guy and looked directly at the camera. “Favorite fruit? It’s gotta be Tetsu.” He winked.
From Japan, Kuroko’s jaw dropped at his boyfriend’s comment as he watched from his tv.

The flashing lights blinded Kagami as he made his way to the Cest Bon restaurant, where high-listed celebrities dine in Los Angeles.
"Who are you having dinner with, Taiga?" "Aomine Daiki? He arrived a few minutes before you!" "Tell us how you felt losing your last game!" "Are you having dinner with Daiki?" "Is this a date?"
"Just friends catching up," Kagami gave them a tight smile as his team led him through the crowd of paparazzi.
Answering the paps was a mistake as the paparazzi kept shouting questions at a faster rate.
"But you and Daiki have an ongoing rivalry!"
"Do you two get along outside of basketball?"
"What's your blood type?"
Even after Kagami's security team opened the doors to the restaurant and Kagami stepped inside, the paparazzi were at the door snapping pictures.
"Ah, Mr. Kagami," The french accent of the waiter was heavy. "Let me show you to your table. Mr. Aomine arrived a few minutes ago."
Kagami nodded and followed the man through the restaurant until they approached Aomine, who smirked when he saw Kagami, and Kagami grinned at his friend.
"This is your table," The waiter said, "Please, Mr. Kagami, Mr. Aomine, drinks are on us. Thank you for choosing Cest Bon tonight. A waitress will be there shortly to attend you."
"Thank you," Kagami gave a slight bow before he pulled out his seat and sat in front of Aomine.
"Thought you weren't gonna make it," Aomine took a sip from his wine glass.
Playfully rolling his eyes, Kagami replied. "I was like 10 minutes late, dude."
"Yeah, well, time is money, baby." Aomine winked. "But, I'll let it slide since I haven't seen you outside of games."
"God," Kagami groaned, closing his eyes. "Don't talk to me about games. My ego is taking a fucking beating."
"Yeah?" Aomine pushed his hair back and smugly smiled. "Heard you lost your last game. What happened there?"
Kagami shook his head. "It wasn't my day. I can't believe I lost to the Nets. The fucking Nets!" Kagami leaned on the table, closer to Aomine. "My team is giving me shit for it! But the fuck was I supposed to do when the Nets fucking three-man block me?"
Aomine laughed, "I know- saw the game. You're carrying your team. Not your fault; your team can't do anything without your assistance."
Kagami huffed out in amusement, "Right. You get it. You carry yours all the time."
"Oh yeah, most definitely, yeah." Aomine nodded, picking up his drink again. "They ain't shit without me. But hey, the Cavaliers pay me handsomely, so who am I to complain?"
Kagami was about to agree when a waitress walked up to their table.
"Good evening, I'm Elizabeth, and I'll be your waitress tonight." Both men turned their attention to the woman.
She was hot— dark-skinned, soft brown eyes, tall, with an hourglasses figure.
Unfortunately, both men were in a relationship of their own. Neither flirted with their waitress, and they ordered instead. And as much as the waitress eyed them, Kagami and Aomine didn't return the favor.
"Will that be all?" She gave them a friendly smile.
"Yeah," Aomine waved her off.
"And more wine, please," Kagami held up his glass. "Red, Pinot noir."
The waitress nodded, promising to be back in a few with their meals.
"She was cute, huh?" Kagami started the conversation. "I'm surprised you didn't hit on her."
"Why would I hit on her?" Aomine raised an eyebrow.
"Because she's exactly your type?"
"Nah."
"Really?" Kagami raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "She had big—" he motioned to his chest.
"Tits?" Aomine replied with a sly smile.
"Breasts." Kagami blushed at Aomine's choice of words, and he slightly narrowed his eyes. "She had big breasts."
"She did," Aomine agreed, "But I already got someone at home."
"Oh, for real?" Both of Kagami's eyebrows rose, and his eyes widened a bit.
"What— Don't look so surprised, asshole!" Aomine clicked his tongue. "I'm a good boyfriend."
"What's her name?"
This time, it was Aomine who turn was to blush. "It's a guy."
"Oh shit."
"Yeah," Aomine looked away, his cheeks hot.
The waitress came back with a bottle and their appetizers. After she left, Aomine quickly shoved a piece of shrimp in his mouth.
"Since we're talking about relationships," Kagami picked up his spinach roll-ups. "I—uh— also have a boyfriend."
"No shit," Aomine chuckled, "Would you look at that?"
"Who would've thought?"
"Not us," Aomine grabbed one of Kagami's spinach rolls. "We should do that couple shit and have a double date."
"Actually," Kagami covered his mouth with his hand as he tried to finish his roll. Once he swallowed, he said, "That's not a bad idea. I really wanna introduce you to this guy."
"Yeah?" Aomine said with his mouth full.
"Yeah, I think he might be the one." Kagami looked down, soft pink hues on his cheeks. "Like, I can see myself marrying him and starting a family."
Aomine softly smiled at his friend. "Well, tell me about him. I wanna know why he has you all whipped."
"Okay, but only if you do the same with your boyfriend." Kagami grumbled, "I wanna know how someone would willingly date you."
"Ha, ha, ha," Aomine joked, no harm in his glare towards Kagami. "But ight. I can also see myself marrying my current boyfriend."
"Okay, what do you wanna know?"
"Anything," Aomine smiled, "Look, he isn't even here, and you're already blushing like a teenager in love." He pointed at Kagami's blushing cheeks.
"Shut up!" Kagami covered his cheeks, "Okay, well, uh, he's so fine."
"Oh?" Aomine pressed for Kagami to go on.
"He's like 5'6," Kagami smiled fondly— as if he remembered a cute moment between him and his boyfriend. "He's got a nice built."
"Damn," Aomine thought about how his boyfriend is also the same height. What a coincidence.
"He used to play basketball back in high school, I think," Kagami grabbed a shrimp from Aomine's plate. "He's got the cutest smile and big blue eyes and light blue, soft hair ."
Aomine was beginning to find it freaky how his boyfriend also played basketball in high school, had a cute ass smile, big blue eyes, and light blue, soft hair. He couldn't count how many times he's run his hand through the soft strands.
"Oh, plus, he moved from Japan like a few months ago." Kagami threw the shrimp in his mouth.
"Wait a motherfucking minute," Aomine swore; his heart stopped beating for a second because his boyfriend had also moved from Japan to Los Angeles. "Wait a goddamn minute."
"What?" Kagami looked at him, confused.
The match-up from Kagami's boyfriend to Aomine's was eerily similar. There's no way his Tetsu would cheat on him, right?
It must be some weird coincidence. Right?
"Does..." Aomine's throat grew dry. "Does he have a dog?"
"Yeah," Kagami visibly shivered. "He loves that mutt."
Okay, don't panic. Anyone could have a dog. Aomine's heart began beating out of his chest.
Tetsu has a dog too.
"Loves vanilla milkshakes?"
Kagami looked taken aback. "How did you know?" He raised an eyebrow.
Holy shit.
Holy fucking shit.
"Does he got a beauty mark on his left hip?" Aomine felt sick as the realization was setting in.
"..."
"Went to Teiko Middle school?"
"...How—"
"Is your boyfriend a kindergarten teacher?!" Aomine tightly grips on the glass of wine.
Kagami looks at Aomine with confusion. "Do you know him or something?"
"Man, I can't believe this shit, damn." Aomine wanted to cry right then and there.
"What's wrong, dude? Why do you keep looking at me like that?" Kagami grew uncomfortable. "I'm your best friend, so just say what's on your mind."
"Fucking—" Aomine buried his face in his hands. "I didn't know you were talking about him."
"Do you know him or something?"
"Do I know him?" Aomine pulled away and let out a dry laugh. "Like the back of my fucking hand, Taiga."
"I'm not getting it." Despite saying that, Kagami looked at Aomine, horrified. Deep down, he didn't want it to be true.
Kuroko wouldn't cheat on me. He loves me.
"We're fucking the same guy!" Aomine covered his mouth with his hand and looked away, pained.
Kagami blinked.
"Kuroko Tetsuya?" He whispered.
"That's the fucking one!" Aomine snarled and looked around. No one seemed to notice his outburst. "That's the love of my life you described."
"We're fucking the same guy?"
"The same fucking guy," Aomine repeated.
Kagami and Aomine sat in silence for the next ten minutes. When their main dishes arrived, neither made a move to eat.
"Daiki, how did you two meet?" Kagami finally asked with a downcast.
"Meet him at a party Satsuki threw a few months ago when he first moved to LA." Aomine wasn't even hungry anymore. He wanted to confront Tetsu.
He wanted Tetsu to tell him that it was all a mix-up. That Tetsu has a secret twin, no one knows about.
"Well, I met him at a party Kise threw a few months ago when Kuroko first moved to LA." Kagami scratched the back of his ear. "I asked him if he had a boyfriend, and he said no."
"That's funny," Aomine glared at him. "Because Tetsu said the same to me."
Kagami nodded, not knowing what to say.
Please tell me this isn't true. That Kuroko, my love, is cheating on me— tell me it isn't true. Tell me that he's loyal to me, and only me.
"He told me I was the love of his life," Kagami deeply frowned.
Aomine scratched his head awkwardly. "Yeah, well, you ain't special, buddy."
Kagami played with his steak, poking it with his fork. "Damn, he told me I was the light to his—"
"Shadow?" Aomine finished Kagami's sentence.
"How did we not notice? Tetsuya's been at every single game I invited him to," rubbing his right eye tiredly, Kagami let out a deep sigh.
"He does have a low presence," Aomine pointed out. "It's easy for him to get under the radar."
"That cheeky little shit."
"How come I have never seen your name pop up on his phone, though?" Aomine looked up, complexed. "Surely, you two texted as much as we did."
"We texted and talked on the phone all the time," Kagami sadly smiled. "But, uh, I have no clue. I've never seen your name pop up on his phone either."
"Now, I wished I got my hands on his dark blue phone sooner."
"Dark blue?" Kagami looked uncomfortable, "He has a red phone."
"No, he's got a dark blue one," Aomine pulled out his light blue phone— the color of Kuroko's hair. "We have matching phones— his phone is dark blue because that's my color, and my phone is light blue because that's his color."
Kagami felt his eyes sting with tears. "That's really fucking hilarious." Kagami forced a laugh as he pulled out his phone and threw it onto the table.
It was a light blue color, just like Aomine's.
"We also have matching phones— his phone is red because that's my color, and mine is light blue because that's his color."
Both men didn't say a word after that.
They were trying to process the love of their lives, their potential husband, cheating on them with each other.
Neither wanted to say who was the side piece. One had to come before the other, right?
Their broken hearts would not be able to stand being the other man.
They had the worst dinner of their lives- eating in silence and avoiding eye contact with each other.
The paparazzi captures Aomine and Kagami leaving the restaurant together by the end of the night.
Neither of the men stopped to take pictures for the magazines or fans.
Instead, they walked away from the restaurant in opposite directions, neither turning back.
Kuroko Tetsuya managed to break the hearts of two all-star NBA players, and he had no clue about it.

I want a wedding one now 😡
I LOVE your pro nba Aomine with Kuroko.

Five years later, Aomine (24) was living his dreams as a young pro-NBA Allstar- dominating the court with 75 points on average.

Daiki is a powerhouse- scoring 75 points on average. He's confident, and his standoff-ish arrogance makes him stick out. Love him or hate him; he's the best of the best!"
"Exactly! But you also forget the beast that is Taiga! He's also on par with Daiki- scoring 75 points on average.
