Aomine's hobby is catching small animals like cicadas and crayfish so I bet he knows (and can identify and name) randomly found bugs etc. One time, he got in a banter with Akashi whether the beetle they found was Lucanus maculifemoratus or Lucanus yulaoensis. It was one of the few times Aomine argued with Akashi and was actually right.

(Kagami has no clue about bugs but Aomine seems so passionate while speaking about them he can't help but listen with a dreamy smile)
