A lot of inspiration from other artist and tumblr folks…I hope I haven’t crossed any lines here (let me know if I have pls). I’ve really enjoyed drawing again over these past few weeks, I’m new to tumblr and I needed some inspiration for some new drawings. So:

if you are so enraged with problematic teachers in HP and abuse/neglect/unfair treatment of students in Hogwarts, then you bash not only Snape, but McGonagall, Hagrid, all the DADA teachers, Slughorn, Filch and Dumbledore as well.

if you only hate Snape for being an "abusive teacher" and never speak one word about all those other cases, then you don't have a problem with treating students unfairly, you just have a problem with Snape. and that doesn't make you against child abuse.

One thing that never fails to shock me is how many Marauder stans I’ve seen hating on Draco for saying this line to Hermione in GoF:

“Granger, they’re after Muggles,” said Malfoy. “D���you want to be showing off your knickers in midair? Because if you do, hang around . . . they’re moving this way, and it would give us all a laugh.”

Yet somehow they can’t apply that same logic to what happened in SWM:

James whirled about; a second flash of light later, Snape was hanging upside down in the air, his robes falling over his head to reveal skinny, pallid legs and a pair of graying underpants.

Many people in the small crowd watching cheered. Sirius, James, and Wormtail roared with laughter.

I’ve seen Marauder stans who bash Draco and call him horrible for “making a SA joke,” but then go ahead and defend what the Marauders did (which was ACTUAL SA, not just a gross joke) in SWM as if that’s not much worse. The irony is ridiculous.

That’s always confused me because… they can clearly see the harm in a character making a SA joke, but they gloss over or even justify their favourites characters actually doing what said character joked about??? Make it make sense.

Defending Severus Snape is not enough. I need a fucking gun

Snape and what a victim is supposed to look like.

Or: The reason you all hate him so much while making up excuses for other characters!

Would he still be so despised by the fandom, if he had been portrayed as weaker? As more emotional?

No, i don’t think so.

Others have said this before and i have to agree with what they said:

Y‘all are angry, because he is not the perfect victim.

He is not what you would expect a victim of abuse and bullying to look like.

He is confident.

He is strong.

He is sharp.

And he is bitter.

He is so, so bitter.

he harbours resentment.

He does not forgive those who wronged him.

When that is exactly what you would expect from a victim, is it not??

A victim is supposed to look weak and behave weak and to suck it up.

And to forgive.

When you tell people they have to forgive their tormentors, do you really tell them that so that they can heal?

Or…. so you don‘t have to deal with the mess?

Maybe, so you don‘t have to adjust your world view?

People are not obligated to forgive their tormentors.

It doesn‘t matter if they have changed.

What matters is how they made the victim feel.

And if the victim feels if they can forgive them.

And if they chose not to forgive, they turn in something else in your eyes.

They turn into the hater, the bully, the bad guy.

Bacause the victim is supposed to forgive and forget and let it go and not be bitter about it.

A victim is supposed to turn into a good person.

To learn from their experiences to be kinder to others.

To not treat others like they have been treated.

They are not supposed to not be able to let it go.

And if they are not able to do that, well then there‘s something wrong with them.

If a victim doesn‘t turn out the way they wanted them too, well - then they had it coming from the beginning and they probaly deserved what happened to them because they would have turned out bad either way!

Snape is the opposite of what a victim is supposed to be like.

Severus turned into a resentful and bitter adult.

He was never able to move on and heal from his trauma.

And at the same time, he knows who he is and what and doesn‘t make up excuses for his behaviour and instead just accepts himself the way he is.

And that is what makes you so fucking mad.

He turns into an asshole and is not sorry about it.

He is openly resentful and at times hateful.

And he is not fucking sorry about it.

And it makes all of you mad because that is not what is supposed to happen.

And let‘s not lie to yourselves- if he didn‘t have greasy hair and a hooked nose- you would look at him from an entirely different angle.

Like you do with Tom Riddle, or Regulus Black or Draco Malfoy.

with all the godson+godfather hcs of Snape and Draco out there, what if they were like actual brothers?

Lucius could've taken in Severus after he graduated, or Lucius and Narcissa treated him as their practice child and spoiled him all the time

when they both graduated, they're still in touch with Severus

when they find out (assuming they didnt know beforehand) the abuse T*bias puts him through, they immediately act to save him and take him in as their legal guardian

calls them mom and dad as a joke at first but eventually becomes normal (he stops calling them that when he's of age but they still tease him for it)

when Draco was born, Narcissa introduced him like "Draco's your new little brother" and Severus treats him as such and infodumps random potion factoids to baby Draco so much that his first word was probably something potion related

Draco grew up with an older brother not even related to them (he didnt find out until he was like 9) and a little over 10 decades older

they would've fought like siblings too😭 severus forgetting the age gap while they're play-fighting or whatever and then he's like "wait shit no dont tell cis— don't tell mom stop crying" then gives him a bribe

the reason Draco strutted in the castle all throughout first year is because his older brother is the potions master, not because his dad's a hogwarts governor

There are three(3) things one can reasonably expect from the average little boy: 1. bragging about having more of a thing than the other kids 2. bragging that their dad is totally better than all the other dads. Could absolutely beat up all the other dads, even. 3. oversharing the FUCK out of their family's business. anyway, I'm saying that Tiny Draco Malfoy was rolling up to all The High Society Baby Functions™ and whipping out this mega devastating little kid move: "oh, two parents? That's alright, I guess. I have three. Yeah, a whole extra dad, yes. Also BOTH of them could beat your dad in a duel on their own. No, he's not just a family friend, he's definitely also my dad. they all sleep in the same room, on the same bed, every night, like all parents do."

halloween costumes

I began drawing this on Halloween and have just finished it. It was my first time drawing Albus and Minerva, and although it's a good start, I'm not entirely happy with how I drew them.
