She really went from "I'm your princess" to "*leans back on Egwene's pillow* I could be your princess " in a matter of two sentences

I don't think the fandom is going to be able to handle it when Elayne and Avi finally share a scene together.

Regardless of who they’ve cast in the Wheel of Time Tv Series, I’ll always imagine Elayne Trakand (my wot crush 😍) as something like this when I read or audiobook the novels — here’s My version of Elayne in a few styles, anime, illustrated, and oh my even sort of photographic 🫣🤯 ! Queen Elayne, Elayne Sedai of the Green Ajah (((created in Midjourney))) >>>

Also, can we talk about how Morgase and Elayne respond to the Two Rivers raising the banner of Manetherin?
They're so paranoid that someone is going to usurp their power in a part of the country that they already had no power over. It's fucking stupid. It's exactly why I hate princesses.
And Morgase actually makes sense; she's the queen, she hears some disturbing rumors, she has other shit to deal with, she'll get to it later.
But Elayne. Elayne is pregnant with Rand's babies. She spent considerable time with Mat Cauthon in Ebou Dar. And her first words to Perrin about it are "I should hang you as a traitor." Get the fuck out of here.
While we're on it, the Two Rivers descending into feudalism is part of why I dislike Faile so much. She literally came to this isolated bastion of democracy and said, nope! We've got to fix this! AFTER SHE RAN AWAY TO ESCAPE EXACTLY THE THIS SHE FORCED ON THEM? Get the fuck out of here.
But at the end of the day, the real, true problem was Robert Jordan, who considered himself a "libertarian monarchist." I mean. What. The. Literal. Fuck. Talk about an oxymoron.

endless amount of favorite character aesthetics:
She had to think like a queen. The Rose Crown is heavier than a mountain, her mother had told her, and duty will make you weep, but you must bear and do what must be done.

Legit. I hate princesses, but not because they take baths. Elayne is trying to run her country during the apocalypse. All people deserve good hygiene ffs, and taking a bath is how you get clean in Andor.
what she says: i'm fine
what she means: the purpose of elayne's COT bath scene is to show how taxing the reality of being a ruler is. even while taking a bath, which should be a moment of privacy and relaxation, elayne is still surrounded by people and still working, hearing reports and giving orders and mentally running through all the hundreds of issues she needs to deal with, and she can't even finish her bath without being interrupted by somebody demanding her immediate attention. and yet the only thing fandom got out of this scene is "haha elayne's obsessed with taking baths because she's a spoiled princess"

A guide to Rand al'Thor's love life, simplified:
Elayne Trakand: "I will have him for my throne." *giggles*
Aviendha: "I hate him! I hate him! I hate him! I need him inside my guts right now! I hate him!"
Rand al'Thor: "Oh Min, you're the only normal woman in my life."
Min Farshaw: "I am a woman and I will have you beg for it like a dog, drooling into the carpet."
Rand al'Thor: "Why are all my relationships so terrible?"
Lews Therin Telamon: (sounding haunted) "Ilyena used to grip it with her feet like the teeth of a darkhound and leave me seeing stars. Oh light how I miss her."
Moridin: "I will see you dead." (Princess Bride narrator: "But what he meant was "I love you."")

hello hello! who are your top 5 wot characters?
Hello friend excellent question thank you!
1) Egwene al’Vere - Character of all time!! Relentless, determined, ambitious, cunning, unbreakable, her drive and desire for more really resonated with me as a child starting these books and as I’ve grown I only appreciate her more. Always seeking knowledge, learning from and understanding those around her, even though she’s suffered the most unimaginable trauma. She truly gave everything of herself to fight for good, choosing (more than once) to sacrifice herself to save others.
2) Elayne Trakand - I love that RJ took what was a fairly stereotypical princess character and let her get her hands dirty. She is PROUD to make something herself!! She respects the work it takes to make something worthwhile even though she’s coming from such a privileged place. She has her moments of well meaning snootiness sure but within that is a genuine love for her people and the responsibility to do well by them. Sure maybe we made a few war crimes along the way but our hearts were in the right place ❤️
3) Moiraine Damodred - Goddd what can I even say about her, she is everything to me. Book and show canon can coexist like a waveform waiting to collapse for me so thinking about her as a young woman setting out on the search for the Dragon against the Shadow makes me crazy. Add in all the insanely good backstory with the Sun Throne, her family, her relationship with Siuan, there’s so much to unpack. I will fight that she IS a main character and she IS both a mentor and a chosen one in her own right.
4) Matrim Cauthon - oh my gremlin son. Many people have him all wrong, he is NOT cool he is a hyperactive hyperaroused hyperfixated DORK. He WILL get the job done and you can depend on him like no other but he will complain the whole time. His POV is always a delight from making incorrect assumptions to collecting magical curses and/or items to finding ah, creative solutions to problems.
5) Verin Mathwin - god I agonized over this last place, I have about 30 honourable mentions. I will say Siuan comes very close but unfortunately her story takes a really difficult turn for me and I, frankly, hate it SO. Rafe. You know what you need to do.
So VERIN. Truly the character arc, starting from one throwaway line in the second book all the way through one of if not THE biggest plot twist in these books. If you know you know.

with how much they’re playing up the Daughter Heir thing with Elayne and Nynaeve and people immediately knowing who Elayne is, I really hope they keep the bit where Birgitte is like “why the fuck did you tell them you’re a princess, Elayne? That’s such an obvious lie no one is going to believe you’re a princess!”

Elayne is an amazing character who I would absolutely hate in real life.
Just like… every time someone points out how Elayne makes bad decisions and is often kind of a shitty person I want to be like ‘yes and it makes me weirdly fond of her’.
I love that Elayne is Team Analyze The Evil Artifact To Figure Out How It Works. I love that Elayne makes increasingly questionable decisions because she knows she has Plot Armor. I love that Elayne is arrogant and clueless a lot of the time and doesn’t even notice it.
Elayne is flawed and I think her flaws are realistic and interesting. YMMV! It’s just that as I spend more and more time thinking about the obviously morally grey characters in WoT (and there are… many) I realize that the ta'veren and the supergirls are really not exempt from moral greyness either. Everybody in the series is making (often) bad decisions with (often) incomplete information and they’re all kind of terrible at one point or another, sometimes in ways the narrative highlights and sometimes in ways that are more idiosyncratic to the reader.

More Wheel of Time News!
Sorry if this isn't comic related but I love these books and the show and want to share more stuff about it.
So some spoiler free info for show onlys
Last season we met the amazing Elayne Trakand, one of my favorite characters and the Crown Princess of Andor, the kingdom all of our main kids are from and the most powerful nation on the continent
Tumblr media
This season we are meeting her family
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left to right)
Olivia Williams plays Queen Morgase Trakand, Elayne's mother and the Queen of Andor. Skilled politician who came to power in a succession crisis she is canny negotiator but also loves and cares for her people.
Callum Kerr as Gawyn Trakand. Elayne's brother who is fiercely protective of her, and goes to the White Tower to train to possibly become her Warder; already being considered a great warrior
Luke Fetherston as Galad Trakand. Elayne's other brother who is considered possibly a greater warrior than his brother and is considered one of the most beautiful men in the kingdom.
This is also were some confusion/possible changes from books are coming in. In the books he is Elayne's and Galad's half brother, the son from their father Taringail's previous marriage and goes by Gawyn Damodred (he is a distant cousin of Morraine). Now in the books Gawyn is treated by Morgase like he is her son, and he thinks of his step mother and half siblings as his full family, so it is possible they are simplifying some relationships, but I think this is a miscommunication as in S2 they mention Elayne having a half brother.
Nuno Lopes as Lord Gaebril, Queen Morgase's advisor and lover. While Andor is a matriarchal monarchy where women have the primary power (hence why Elayne is next in line despite having at least 1 older brother), he wields incredibly and growing power of his own
