the thing that gets me with the idea that the prince shouldn't save snow white and that she should save herself instead is that the prince saves snow white from, basically, being in a coma. like, that's the only thing he saves her from. so the argument is literally "how dare this coma patient not wake herself up and a man do it." which, granted, i don't think anyone making that argument realizes that's what they're actually complaining about. but i also think they don't realize that because i don't think anyone making that argument has actually seen or read anything about snow white in their entire lives and are just against the idea of a man saving a woman on principle alone because that's so unfeminist or something, i guess. and, y’know, nevermind the actual context of the situation. or how the thing that’s actually not feminist at all is reducing a woman’s entire character and story to somehow just being about a man because he happens to save her literally at the very end of her story, and from a situation that is literally impossible for her to save herself from in the first place because, y’know, the problem is that she’s in a coma.

Her reception to his gesture was more pleasant than he anticipated. Though the equally formal address from her was . . . intriguing. While in fantasy, he likened himself to a valiant knight of stature, he was sure that not one word of these dreams was uttered aloud. In still silence, he waited with his lips perched above her knuckles. Hesitantly, he sowed a kiss into her skin. It had not yet been determined if her condition was contagious, but the cook did not deign to treat her like something diseased. His expression mirrored the levity in her tone. A soft smile started to spread outward, though uncertainty percolated through his visage. Irresolute laughter tumbled from his lips. "Hardly," he managed to mumble, "I'm merely the cook of his crew, and I am at your service, my lady Lumi." Subconsciously, his thumb swept over her skin; his sodalite stare swept softly over her face. "Is there anything else I can provide you?"

It had been months since her hand had been caught in the familiar greeting that foreign nobility had often used when visiting her home island of Borealis. Only years of training kept her from removing her hand from his in surprise at the sudden gesture. Instead, a soft smile spread over her lips as a gentle laugh bubbled up. "What courtly manners."

Fingers curling around his hand gently she gave his hand a warm squeeze, even if her touch was as cold as ice. Her tone now playfully teasing as she added. "You can call me Lumi, Sir Sanji."

"Shit, did I do all that?" Jake mutters with a huff, his slim fingers caressing the reddening spot on your hips that's definitely going to bruise tomorrow. He grabs your thigh and hooks it over his hip as a smile begins to appear on his swollen lips.

"Yeah, jackass," you scoff, eyes showing nothing else but love. You lift your hand up cradle his warm cheek. "Told you to be more careful."

He only hums before turning his face slightly and pressing a kiss against your palm. "Sorry, beautiful. Couldn't help myself."

You laugh and smack his chest lightly, leaving your hands there to feel his still slightly quickened heartbeat. "Okay, prince charming."

There's nothing better than this - laying face to face with the person you love the most, wrapped up in his arms and feeling your eyelids growing heavy out of exhaustion.

"I'm sorry," he speaks after a heartbeat or two of silence.

You huff and finally close your eyes, moving even closer to him to bury your face in his shoulder. "No, you're not."

"Yeah, I'm not."
