the plan was playing out smoothly, all things considered — so far, any guards that needed to be dealt with had been so quietly, cleanly, and the maps they’d drawn up hadn’t failed them. vesper led a team, just a handful of people who’d rallied under his goals, through the seemingly endless white halls of this bunker, and though he was usually a man dead-set on working alone, he had recognized the benefit in having a team for a facility this size. their goal, though a massive undertaking, was to release the entities stored here from their captivity and to shut down the communications systems between bases, in order to buy them and the trapped creatures enough time to escape. through winding halls, and crossing rooms far too spacious for comfort, vesper dragged his fingertips along the chair rails, bricks and long expanses of stone feeling nothing less than suffocating. as his gaze settled on a security camera nearby, he exhaled calmly, confident in the rigging he’d done to disrupt their feeds.

ah, we’re here.

though he trusted this team to follow the plan to an exact degree, the notable variability came into play with the reactions and responses of those they came to free — for reasons unbeknownst to him, vesper was the only one of the four who had, so far, been greeted by the beasts on their journey with calm respect and docility. this meant the other three were always at a higher risk than himself, and he knew he needed to keep a close eye on them as they each took on the job of releasing as many captives as possible. this was his goal, his plan; if he wanted it to happen without major loss, he needed to stay alert.

breaking the key reader was the easier part, by comparison. entering an almost unfathomably massive room, vess took no time in admiring the vastness, only pointing the others in the directions he needed them to go. passing the cells of varying sizes, he took note of the fact that while some were big enough to house what was inside, most were far too small. he passed a bird, feather pattern swirling like the cosmos and big enough to step on him, bashing its head into the door in hopes of escape. next, a series of salamanders — these few looked violent, vess noted, but this cell was under the directions of another to handle. keeping his eyes trained on the unbreakable glass in each door, the last one he stopped at was a figure, pitch black and banging at the window, clawing, beating, demanding.

that’s what it was, a demand, pounding through vess’ skull like a drum. he shouldn’t be hearing this, not through the doors, created and maintained to exert total control over a captive’s power. vess looked perplexed. no matter the reasoning, it was bleeding through effectively. he turned to glance back at the others, and then the massive exit door at the other end of the room, currently opening as intended on the timer he’d set. soon, they’d have fulfilled their goal. as he looked back to the entity in this cell, however, it looked like a human — pounding away at the glass, demanding freedom, but human. vess cocked his head to the side, and took in the sight of him for a moment, the blond man behind the glass.

no matter. now was the only time he had, so he stepped up to the locking mechanism and got to work. his skill in this particular area of tech and engineering was the only reason he’d managed this journey so far, and it proved once again helpful as the lock clicked, and he stepped back to open the door.

Well, here's the start of my series on the family tree of the Greek Gods. Most of my info will be coming from whatever I find on wikipedia or through google, although I might throw in some of my own personal opinions and interpretations too (but feel free to reblog and add things if you feel I missed something):

The first three deities to come into existence were Chaos, Gaia and Tartarus. Or as Wikipedia calls them: The Void, The Earth and The Abyss.

Chaos then had two children, Erebus and Nyx. Erebus and Nyx are also husband and wife, so that's weird. But I suppose they were some of the only people in existence at that time, so they kind of had to rely on each other. From them, Erebus and Nyx would have many children of their own.

Together with Erebus, Nyx gives birth to Aether and Hemera. I wonder how mother and daughter got along, since Nyx and Hemera were literally the personifications of Night and Day. Maybe they're the reason we have that saying, huh?

Anyway, Nyx also gave birth on her own. Without any father, Nyx gives birth to many children. According to Wikipedia, her children included Thanatos and his twin brother Hypnos, Nemesis, Eris, Momus, Moros, Philotes, Geras, Oizys, Apate, Charon and The Fates. All of these were her children, which technically means Charon is older than his boss. Strange how things work out like that, huh? I guess seniority isn't really a concept amongst the gods.

Anyways, this is getting a bit long. So stay tuned for part 2, when I can hopefully turn away from Nyx and turn towards Gaia.

I want to ask for the primordial husbands with a reader that first came across them some time ago but they are maybe too naive/friendly, and don't know they should be scared, so at first reader just gave both of them a little wave when they saw them, then came the smiles, then the "hey i was passing by, do you need anything?i was going to the market!"

Till one day when others do confront the reader for the "bad company" the husbands are, only for the reader to become teary eyed, with a heartbroken "but.. they're my friends"

it was on quite odd times that you’d see the two that many referred to as husbands around your town. their aura alone was admittedly a little weird — but you are not one to judge such. no, not darling you.

it is what eventually caught their eye. especially when they realised that you work at a bakery they repeatedly frequent.

you were always so friendly. greeting them. asking how their day was. once you even complimented talisen’s robes and alessio’s jewellery - needless to say, they may or may not have gotten just a bit smitten.

well on their way to visit your bakery once more after discovering that they were low on some of their favourite goods - they halted not too far from your figure stood outside of the fluttering flannels and cream-painted building.

“those two are a strange bunch, don’t you know?”

“mhhm. you should be careful. one rotten apple and all, y’know -”

“but. . .” you murmur, brows furrowing as gloss takes over your poor eyes.

oh, they both felt their hearts clench. and then came your little quivering voice.

“they’re my friends. . .”

that was it. both were behind the small group in seconds. alessio with his arms folded over his chest and talisen peering down with a less than decent look yet a smile.

“my, one would think the gossiper is worse than the rumour, would they not?” his voice spun the trio around immediately. sweatdrops evident on their brows at the mere sight of the aforementioned ‘strange bunch’.

all while alessio stepped around them and came up to you. reaching to brush your tears away delicately and giving a small shake of his head.

“don’t listen to the townsfolk. superstitious, is what they are.”

and once talisen was done scaring the ever-living soul out of the group that scattered not too long after, he steps closer as well. brushing some dust off of your shoulder and raising a basket in his hand.

“as promised, the homemade bread for sampling.”

a bright smile finds your lips. how could these two ever be considered odd?

I had originally intended to make this post on Percy's birthday for some well-intended chaos, because why not? But I had a bit of a health crisis since then, and I had no time nor strength to do anything, so here's this now. I have seen so many strongest demigod tier lists, and half of them I find to be somewhat inaccurate, so here's mine:

If you guys want to see specific 1v1 between any characters just post an ask and I will do a breakdown on following criterias:

Now feats is in bold because in the end, that's what actually determines the power level, so keep that in mind. A lot of people might riot, but it is what it is.

[ Okay, hear me out on this before everyone explodes. Nico has definitely one of the, if not the strongest, abilities in the verse in terms of both power and versatility. But he comes up short in terms of strength, stamina, endurance, and feats.]

(Between her and Meg I guess it's sort of debatable given Meg has more abilities and many feats, but Hazel has stronger feats and solid abilities herself)

(No don't bother debating this. It's true)

The sheer number of abilities she has alone is good enough to put her here.

Tons of feats ( check @respect Meg McCaffrey on reddit for elaborate descriptions)

Has mastered one of the deadliest forms of combat known (Dimachaerus, an ancient gladiatorial mode of fighting from the roman times. Apollo states it is one of the rarest and deadliest forms of combat one can master)

Was chosen to command a literal God turned mortal

6. THALIA GRACE

Fought all of Hades's furies and the worst of the monsters Underworld has to offer before her "death"

Has the blessing of Artemis

Lieutenant of Hunters of Artemis

Defeated Luke Castellan completely in pure combat who was before Percy, the greatest swordsman born in the last three centuries.

Fought Iapetus briefly and survived

Survived Orion's attack on the Hunters and fought him briefly and survived

Was considered the strongest demigod in Camp Half Blood before Percy Jackson

7. FRANK ZHANG

Praetor of Rome

Could lead a legion of dead soldiers

Neptune's gift of shape-shifting

As of ToA his life is no longer attached to the wood

The physically strongest demigod

Has the blessing of Mars which gives him enhanced strength and stamina

Can turn into a literal dragon (Need I say more?)

Fought and helped defeat a giant

Blitzed a minor God

(More cool stuff, people need to puts some respect on Frank's name)

8. REYNA RAMIREZ-ARELLANO

(Before the Piper stans roll in, Reyna worked for Circe for a good long while before she and her sister fled after the pirate attack so there's a good chance she knows how to resist charmspeak which is something alike Circe's enchantments.

Now Annabeth's a good contender to fight Reyna, but I am basing this on higher feats. Reyna fought and defeated Orion and was probably involved in overthrowing Krios while the only powerful being Annabeth has gone toe to toe with is Kronos inhabiting Luke's body and she does manage to corner Annabeth in Mark of Athena and Annabeth herself says she is unsure if she could win against Reyna, [it's super close though])

Former Praetor of Rome

Returned Athena Parthenos, the Bane of the Giants

Could easily go toe to toe with Annabeth who has far more training and combat experience than her.

The only Roman demigod to recieve Athena's blessing

Received a piece of Athena's cloak/shield Aegis.

Fought and defeated Orion, a giant who had previously almost completely decimated most of the Amazons and Hunters.

Has the blessing of Artemis

9. ANNABETH CHASE

(Yet again, to Piper fans,Annabeth is a child of Athena, born from divine, though, so i think Annabeth would be able to resist Piper's charmspeak to a certain extent and Annabeth has more feats and overall higher comabt and knowledge plus intelligence)

Held up the weight of the sky for half a day(with Artemis's blessing)

The only child of Athena to find and secure the Athena Parthenos

Fought Kronos and held her own while using just a dagger against his giant scythe

Outsmarted and trapped Arachne just using trickery

Tricked Polyphemus

Was able to fight the giant Mimas briefly with Athena in Blood of Olympus

Survived Tartarus

Architect of Olympus

10. LEO VALDEZ/PIPER MCLEAN

Honestly I can't decide between this. I am going to need you all to decide this one.

Most of Leo's feats are constructing or repairing things. Festus, Argo 2, Archimedies circle, convincing Apollo, and so on.

Piper's feats are all based on her charmspeak and nothing else. Khione, Medea, and even putting Gaea to sleep (because she was already sleepy and in mid-air cut off from her domain for long enough). The plan was Leo's, but the execution mostly depended on Piper, so it's a tie, I think, but let me know your opinions.

Feel free to share your honest opinions; though, mostly, let's agree to disagree on the Top 5. I can welcome debate over 6-10. But I think the Top 5 are mostly factually canonically accurate.

That’s those that do have them. Their universes aren’t identical, so there is likely some that don’t have a Luzhen because their moms mate did perish in the flood: like, say, TMKATI-verse.

Mostly because I was looking through the old posts and one way for Luzhen to be born was somebody locking Peach into the furnace, but not turning it on and that counting to start the process. Obvs different rules now, but variety, you know?

That and the rest of the SWKs can quickly learn why Stone Eggs are a last resort kind of deal, with Peach nearly croaking during birth. Like, ‘Damn, there is a way for us to die, even with all these immortalities’, you know?

Also: [Cherry, holding his little bro up like Simba: PEEEEEBBBBBLLLEEEE!!!!!!!]

If none of the modern kids do the Circle of Life, I will be disappointed.

Recall that back then also were going by the thought of Nuwa having a hand in SWKs creation? Well, thought here: she’s responsible for Reborn-Luzhens creation. Don’t know, just had the idea of a small undefined soul causing some havoc near Nuwa – because it wants a family, it was promised a family, why won’t it be getting its family anymore – reminding her of the Havoc and she ends up making a little clay monkey for the soul to inhabit.

Kinda like TMKATI, just less pregnancy and more clay.

Then she drops the little troublemaker off at Smokey’s, “He really wanted to be born” she shrugs and peace’s out.

Smokey, who was doing his best to suppress his grief at the apparent fact that his dad had died in his world, just now has waterfall levels of water coming out of his eyes. His little brother harassed a god to ensure his own birth! Truly, they are related.

[The knowledge that he might be considered divine royalty under Celestial Law would be a bit much for him right now.]

Honest question: what do the rest of the SWKs think about that? Like, that has to knock the wind out them, for sure.

referencing the Wukongverse learning about Stone Matriarch au + our older post about Nuwa and Houtu making Luzhen on accident + Furnace - Fire = Stone Egg.

I should really do an updated TMKATI timeline post once my exams are over. Currently I'm thinking of altering it so that the twin boys of the Nodelets - Jidu and Luohou - are the ones created from one of the parents getting trapped in the Furance without the fire, likely from LBD stealing the Furance/capturing one of them. I'm thinking Luzhen (like possibly Canon!MK) would be created by Nuwa since TMKATI!MK got found by the Shadowpeach parents as a "broken" egg and they accidentally became his parents.

The Stone Matriarch au likely doesn't apply to many of the other universes since it is in of itself an Au. If any of the SWKs find an egg at the bottom of FFM/Mount Huaguo, it's like a million to one chance.

The one that does is super hyped/sad though. Not sure which.

I love the idea of Reborn!/Smokey's Luzhen getting created because Nuwa encountered a little chaotic soul wanting to be born + realising that she shoudl probably give him to someone with a similar origins.

And let's just say; what if... Reborn!Luzhen's soul was created as a reincarnation?

The Reincarnation of a *certain* Primordial Demon who has just died? And may need to be raised in tandem with it's Qi Energy counterpart in order to grow into a (mostly) balanced monkey?

As for the method in which: (Stone Monkey + Furnace) - Samadhi Fire (or they waiting too long) = Egg?

Most likely candidate would be Netflix!SWK/Cherry.

Because he's the exception of Monkey Kings who haven't been "furanced" yet.

I'm just imagining the next Wukongverse he pulls up looking SUPER rough.

Starfruit: "Wow, you look like Hell." Cherry, covered in burn scars: "Don't remind me. Ran into some jerks who stole a bunch of alchemy supplies from the immortals." Sugar: "Calabash?" Cherry: "No thanks I'm not hungry. Well anyway this guy working for Heaven thinks I'm too dangerous to be walking around, and he tosses me into this big pot. I run out of air and somebody turns the heat on! For like a month!" All the SWKs who Know: *winces of sympathy* Ace, jokingly nostalgic: "Ah the Trigram Furnace. Usually happens before the Buddha's hand though." Cherry: "Yeah don't remind me. Luckily my new friends got me out and woke me up." Dawn, suddenly pauses: "Wait. Woke you up?" Cherry: "Yeah I sorta passed out just before the worst of the fire started." Dawn, gettign concerned: "And were you asleep for that whole time?" Cherry, getting nervous: "Yeah??" Dawn: (*shares a look with the other monkeys. A bunch nod their heads with nervous expressions*) Cherry: "Why, what's the problem? Did you guys not fall asleep?!" Smokey: "How could we? The flames of Samadhi nearly turned me to ash. Only way me or any of us survived it is because the Wind corner has a higher pressure." Cherry: "There was corners in there?" Dasheng: "You didn't train in alchemy under Subuhti as we did. The Trigram Furnace is made up of eight corners according to the major celestial elements, with each corner having the properties of that element. The Wind element feeds but also suffocates fire, so even True Fire weakens there." Cherry: "Oh. I think I survived cus I just went into a dissociative state and became a statue." Dawn, now convinced: "YOU PETRIFIED!?" Cherry, getting scared: "NOW I AM!?"

Cue the monkeys who know about how Stone Eggs are formed dragging Cherry to see Guanyin. The bodhisattva explains that; yes, Cherry is carrying a mini-him all wrapped in a stone casing, all because the lack of air in the Furnace caused his body to believe that it was time to bud off into a new monkey. Cherry faints. Joyfully.

Cherry, rambling excitedly: "A mini-king! No! A Prince! NO! A PEBBLE! And he'll be *just* like me!" Dawn, stressing: "Aren't you worried that it could kill you!?" Cherry, brushing him off: "Pff! I'm immortal. Can't die. If I was really worried - I'd just grab a few more pills or peaches." Dawn: (*grabs Cherry by the collar of his armor and pulls him closer. eyes glowing red*) Dawn: "I have over twenty times the amount of immortality you have, and I almost f*cking died. The only reason I'm here today is because Guanyin, the goddess of safe birth, was at my side. And because my Macaque would have dragged me back from Diyu if I had. So. Be. Worried." Cherry, nods fearfully: "Y-yes sir."

But the young Monkey King is still super jazzed about his upcoming mini-him. Even if he's now looking up other ways him can become immortal so that he can meet his little pebble and give him the hugs he himself was denied as a baby.

Dragon Sovereigns and their questionable meal choices

Y'know how Neuvillette is a legit water sommelier. He can actually parse out difference between different type of water. I am gonna chalk it up to Hydro Dragon thing. And while, it raises interesting questions on its own, like how do the different boiling and filtering technique affect the taste? And all the myraid of questions.

(It's even more fun and morbid, if you just go slightly off the tangent and add more questionable things in his diet. Like, how 'primordial sea' was described as Sovereign's blood and the 'beating heart' reference. And, now you get a Neuvillette who is also a fine sanguine sommelier.)

But..back to the topic, What if every dragon species has eccentric taste that completely baffles everyone, but tastes delicious to them?

Do the Anemo Dragons eat wind? Or is it clouds? Are Snezhnayan clouds similar to eating ice cream? Do stormy/thundering clouds leave a tingling aftertaste?

Can Geo Dragon eat dirt? Do they cronch on invaluable stones (diamonds, ruby)? Do they like to eat fine, powdery, soil? Or smooth, soupy mud with the hint of petrichor? (Hilarious image of Azhdaha and Zhongli fine dining but its gem, mud, soil. Mmmhm, delicious.) Do they eat enitre jars of salt?

What about Apep? Is she an herbivore dragon? Eating plant, fruits or whole ass trees, fungi, algae, etc. Just nibbling on an entire Acasia tree and enjoying the prickling texture of spines.

Pyro Dragon? Do they enjoy fires based on the type of fuel used(specific woods)? Are they like greek gods? Burn the sacrifices and they enjoy it through the smoke?

Electro Dragons? Waiting underneath thunderstorms with their mouths open to sample lightning? 'Ah, yes, this one was particulary strong. Such fine taste of conviction in it.' Do they get drunk on lightning and electricity?

What about Cryo Dragons? Do they like everything frozen? Icicles and snow? Do they eat permafrozen food? Are snowflakes a delicacy for them? Like HP verse thousand flavour candy (based on two snowflakes having enitrely different design) so it's always a delight to eat them?

There' so much you can do with Dragon pallate. Add in, besides taste what does their favoured diet coveys to them? Like Neuvi can sense emotions through water, so maybe that's an important factor and helps him in gwtting more deeper meaning out of his water tasting besides good taste?

Hi, I'm not well-versed in the mythology of Hera, but I've had an idea for a webcomic featuring her. Imagine Hera leaving Zeus with just a suitcase and her loyal attendant Iris, navigating modern Greece and self-reflecting on her life, while Zeus plots to win her back.This concept draws inspiration from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's S2 E1 Rose Weisman storyline and Pausanias's Descriptions of Greece, where Hera crashes the wedding of Zeus to a wooden cult statue of her

I envision Hera as a Dorothy-like figure (Golden Girls vibe, with Wendie Malick's voice).

I imagine that as a young ambitious goddess, Hera declared herself goddess of the stars and the galaxy, experimenting with primal forces—mashing it or flinging it into the heavens. Despite her formidability, she won Zeus' heart (they had a secret affair, hidden from Rhea while he was still married to Leto) Hera was thrilled to become Queen of the gods but grew disillusioned when Zeus deemed her interest in primordial laws "unfit for a queen." He reassigned her domain to domestic bonds, making her the Goddess of Marriage.Hera tried to conform but struggled with Zeus' infidelity, which brought her deep embarrassment. Feeling unable to embody her assigned role and domain, Hera dealt with her issues with Zeus' mortal lovers and demigod children by revisiting her old passions, by making constellations (if you know how most constellations are made in mythology you'll get it).

In recent years, Hera has seemingly calmed down, growing apathetic towards the mortals (with whom she always had a complicated reputation). She now believes the rest of the gods should follow suit.

I believe that during her time in Greece, she reflects on her relationship with her foster parents, her father - have a salad with Apollo etc

I'm a bit hesitant, worried that I might misrepresent Hera or create a retelling that won't resonate. What do you think of this idea?

Chaos and Her Children (I'm sorry, I didn't really plan a sketch ahead so I couldn't fit Yuna in the eldritch fam group shot lol)

Wanted to make a post about Yuna's biological family. They are all originally Pokemon OCs, but Yuna's vague resemblance to their mother compelled me to put them in the OP verse as well. This is just a placeholder, but I like to refer to the children as The Chaos Sibs :D Excluding Yuna, the siblings take inspiration from the Velvet Room attendants (from the Persona series), the Three Mothers (from Dario Argento's films), Chthonic gods, and certain fears from The Magnus Archives.

Eriza

The mother. While she usually appears to others as a very tall and exceptionally beautiful woman clad in robes and with a gentle voice, she is actually an ancient, primordial god-like entity in disguise. Her true name is unknown but in the human language, it means "The Singer of Unreality." She is largely absent from her children's lives but nevertheless continuously watches over them from afar. Although she finds amusement in mankind's suffering and discord, she ultimately does not want its complete destruction. Her resemblance to Nico Robin is purely coincidental (during the time I created her, I was not into OP and was unaware of Robin's post-timeskip look).

Moira

The eldest. The most serious one in the family. She is a bit of a misanthrope, preferring to stay away from human affairs. She comes off as a stern and cold person, this being considered ironic by her family since she carries "the fires of hell" within her; her main power is to emit and control heat, to the point where anything or anyone she touches, breathes on, or is in her vicinity can burn into ash instantly. She can negate the usage of Busoshoku Haki, and quite painfully, making the user feel as though it is burning and melting off of them. Her animal symbol is the dragon. Her design is largely inspired by Sumika Warakubami from Kakegurui (because as soon as I saw her I just went "omg she looks like a perfect mix of Eriza and [insert father's name])."

Kita

The 2nd child. The most chaotic one of the children and the most involved with the human world. She is often seen hanging out with the Red Hair Pirates - having a brother-sister-like bond with Shanks - though she will occasionally spend time with the Thriller Bark Pirates as well, considering Perona like a daughter. Her powers are associated with darkness, ghosts, and nightmares; she becomes most powerful during the new moon and the solar eclipse. She can also attack by manipulating her sleeves, which includes being able to sharpen them into blades. She can prevent the usage of Kenbunshoku Haki. Her animal symbol is the cat (including big cats, especially panthers). She is the first of the siblings to meet Yuna when she was a child (although Yuna does not remember this).

Carmen

Was the youngest until Yuna was born. Uses male, female, and gender-neutral pronouns. They are similar to Kita in seeking fun and pleasure in the human world, often reveling in their festivities. They are like a walking mix of a mirror funhouse, a haunted house, and a kaleidoscope. They have the ability to induce hallucinations, influence ecstasy and madness, and generate glass shards out of thin air (this being dependent on how much light there is present). The glass shards can be used simply as attacks, build shields, and construct false realities. They can prevent the usage of Haoshoku Haki, or more accurately reflect its effect back at the user. Their animal symbol is the fox.

Look rationally I know that in the world to the Silt Verses, the evidence suggests that gods are primordial forces of chaos without conscious thought (or at least not conscious thought that's intelligible to human beings) but that's only half the equation. That's the in-universe Watsonian reading of the text.

From a Doylist perspective, though, the actions of the gods frequently serve as plot devices (though post modern audiences generally scoff at deus ex machina, I don't intend that as a criticism fwiw - beautifully told, deeply meaningful stories can feature divine intervention at regular intervals, eg: the works of Homer).

So while it's debatable if the Trawlerman is capable of loving humans or picking favorites, one fact is abundantly clear: Carpenter is quite transparently Jon Ware's blorbo. Anyway. Who said that.

Hiranyagarbha Talon Abraxas

Hiranyagarbha (हिरण्यगर्भः) literally means the ‘Golden Womb' or ‘Golden Egg‘ or ‘Universal Womb' is the Source of the Creation of Universe or the Manifested Cosmos in Vedic Philosophy, as well as an Avatar of Vishnu in the Bhagavata Purana. According to Matsya Purana gives an account of initial creation. After Mahapralaya (the Great Dissolution of the Universe) there was Darkness Everywhere. Everything was in a State of sleep. There was nothing, either Moving or Static. Then Svayambhu (Self-Manifested) being Arose, which is a Form Beyond Senses. It Created the Primordial Waters First and Established the Seed of Creation into it. The seed turned into a Golden Womb, Hiranyagarbha. Then Svayambhu Entered in the Egg.

It details also finds mention in one Hymn of the Rigveda, Known as the Hiranyagarbha Sukta, suggesting a Single Creator Deity (Verse 8: yo deveṣv adhi deva eka asit means "He is the God of Gods, and None Beside Him.", identified in the hymn as Prajapati.

The concept of the “Golden Womb" is first mentioned in the Vishvakarma Sukta (RigVeda) which picturized the “Primeval Womb" as being Rested Set upon the Navel of Vishvakarman the Supreme Cosmic Creator, that One wherein abide all things existing. This imagery was later transferred to Vishnu.

The Upanishad calls it the Soul of the Universe or Brahman and Elaborates that Hiranyagarbha floated around in Emptiness and the Darkness of the Non-Existence for about a year and then Broke into Two Halves which formed the Svarga and the Prithvi.

In classical Puranic Hinduism, Hiranyagarbha is the term used in the Vedanta for the “Creator". Hiranyagarbha is also so called Brahma because it is said He was Born from a Golden Egg (Manu Smrti), while the Mahabharata calls it the Manifest.

Some Classical Yoga traditions consider Hiranyagarbha as the Originator of Yoga, though this may also be a name for Rishi Kapila.

Part 3 of me trying to compose a family tree for the Greek Gods based on what I've seen on Wikipedia while trying to also give my own thoughts and personal interpretations on it:

Last time, we discussed Gaia and most of her kids. We ended with her convincing her children to cut up their father. Now, let's discuss what happened next.

When Ouranos died, his son Kronos castrated him and threw his genitals to earth. They reached earth and formed new beings. When Ouranos's genitals fell to earth, their blood mingled with the Earth/Gaia, leading to the birth of three new beings: The Furies, The Giants and The Meliae. Meanwhile, the genitalia themselves fall into the rippling waves of the ocean, leading to Aphrodite being born from the sea foam which rises shortly thereafter.

I guess this means Aphrodite is the oldest of the Olympians. She may actually have been around during Kronos's reign, which technically means she's probably ages older than Zeus. Does this mean she's a primordial deity, or does this make her the first god? I'm not entirely sure. Either way, she is the oldest olympian by far.

But now, let's skip ahead. Zeus has overthrown Kronos and defeated the Giants. Desperate now, Gaia calls on her last son (her only one with Tartarus): the monstrous Typhon. Typhon is also the husband of Echidna. Of all of Gaia's children, Typhon is her strongest. I'd also bet he's her youngest. But that's just me making a guess.

Anyways, let's end it here for now. We're now all done with Primordial Gods (unless I missed anyone, course. Please tell me if I did), so when next I come back to this we'll discuss the first generation of Titans.

main / pkmn — if you think you don't know him, you've probably seen him somewhere without realising it. he's your champion! he's your chosen one. he's your saint and saviour. or is he really the reason the world around you is shivering apart, little bit by little bit? he couldn't tell you as a child, and he still couldn't tell you now. this beleaguered old legend still ambles from lead to lead on his path to some kind of ultimate understanding, some kind of zenith to his messianic condition. he doesn't know what he's for, but that's okay, he knows you don't know what you're for either. the learning curve never ends. this ash can be encountered almost anywhere in the pokémon world, known to regularly drift from region to region, gig to gig, battle to battle, apocalypse to apocalypse. surely, one day, this curse will lift ... won't it?

supernatural — ash is a drifting, wayward hunter from the south-west, son of a hunter and a restaurant owner. his father passed when he was young, and during the same incident, ash became the willing vessel of the god quetzalcoatl, granting him vast power and a unique kinship with the natural world. he seeks vengeance for his father, but has become cognizant of the primordial gods' schemes and also seeks to confront and punish them.

the boys — think pokémon if they were just v'd up animals - that's it. ash grew up in a suburbian town in japan, near the site of a vought international r&d lab headed by his best friend's grandfather, and found out a little more than he should have as a young child. during an intrepid peek into oak's research lab, ash not only received a hefty dose of compound v, but managed to free one of the animals the lab had been experimenting on; a large, semi-sentient mouse with the power to conduct and discharge electricity. this event forced ash's mother (also being targeted by the yakuza for business protection) to take him away on the run. he and his mother have been weaving in and out of encroaching threats from vought and other bodies of organised crime ever since. ash seeks vengeance upon vought, both for his accidental exposure to v, and for the disappearance of his father (who may have been an unfortunate test subject in the 90s). ash has gained powers from v that seem to amplify with time and training. the simplest way to explain him would be if goku swapped out the disciplined martial arts training for slugging whiskey and throwing caution to the wind.

star trek — half-human, half-klingon, all golden retriever energy. this gung-ho starfleet prospect has never passed an exam, but exceeds in idealism, imagination, and practical xenozoology. all he's ever wanted is to see the stars and to see all of the fantastical creatures roaming out there in space ... sadly, his exam results never quite etched that fate into the stars for him. working the bars of various low-tier starships will have to do.

modern / fandomless — maybe you saw him on your tv in the early 2000s, one of the many pro wrestlers that lit the world on fire during the height of the craze. it's a pity that impassable injury cut his tenure in the ring all too short. this retired fighting performer has relegated himself to a steady but uneventful life helping his beloved mother run her snack bar, wishing that he'd taken up a career in animal care.

cowboy / western — nobody can really give you an exact date of when ash rolled into town, or when his local ranch practically bloomed out of the arid ground, but it seems like he's been there since anyone can remember. he's never done any harm, he's a kind and hardy man, known mainly to mind his business and ranch his prized cattle. rumour has it though, his ranch house is simply teeming with animal life; from his herding dogs, to his ratting cats, to his hunting birds. some say there are creatures in that home that man has never seen before, but hey, that's just a local rumour spun by bored tavern-wives... right?

the taller of the two, talisen, immediately picks up on the signs through your fingers. his brows raising. it’s the first thing that catches his eye - followed by alessio. with both primordial’s attention on you, you could not help the swells of anxiety growing.

yet still, you persist. uncertain if they understand. for they do not respond.

emerald eyes lower to the gifts that you bring them once more. jewellery, this time. the sorcerer grins. the gold chain slides between his fingers and he holds it to the sun to examine.

“beautiful, stellina. a job well done.”

you have assumed that through the numerous occasions in which you have brought them trinkets and gifts - they have grown accustomed to the idea. you create and give. they accept. at times even bringing you their own trinkets and baked goods.

“indeed.” the other hums and your vision flickers over to talisen who takes an opaline ring between his fingers. examining the expertly crafted accessory. “how did you know that this is my favourite?”

you smile, hesitate, then proceed to sign on about how it pairs well with his eyes. his hair. how you think it will create a shine to compliment his ethereal glow.

you then glance to alessio who looks at you with an almost expectant look. not that you processed. and like clockwork, you sign once more. telling him that the chains were created for his horns. to compliment his skin tone. gold suits you a lot, you profess. and ramble a bit about how you would love to see him in silver too, as it would match with his pretty nails.

just as you bow your head and are about to scamper off. something catches your eye - the motion of talisen’s fingers.

wait - is he?

you flush bright red at the realisation. you are most beautiful as well. a stunning songbird that blesses the skies. he signs.

your eyes dart to a second movement. alessio’s hands. oh no - indeed. you are brighter than all the stars in the sky. oh - are you flustered now?

you let out an audible squeal. an attempt to turn away stopped dead in your tracks when warm laughter fills the air and cold hands gently find your waist, turning you back.

“now now, do not get shy on us,” talisen muses. his head tilting with a fond smile. alessio finds place behind you and you think that surely, their affection will be your end.

your hands reach up to cover your face, earning another round of chuckles from them.

“we speak no lies, however.” alessio speaks softly to your ear.

talisen will soon sign at you. thanking you for the gifts - and asking if you would like a warm cup of tea with them. even if it means brewing in silence and the enjoying the simple company of one another.

how can you do anything else but nod your head in agreement?
