Right after posting about Osama Tezuka’s manga with a woman protagonist, this volume of Prime Rose (プライム・ローズ). It doesn’t have a magical girl vibe but it does have a female main character and I completely forgot to put it on my list. In fact, I forgot I ordered it. Also, oddly, it seems I ordered the second volume.

really loving what tezuka is doing with prime rose so far. like the entire conflict so far (~20 pg in of four volumes) is that Emiya just keeps getting bad vibes from the prince of the Gromans and is like um. yeah sorry im pulling the teenage brat card and i am not even dancing w him. oh he wants the next dance? booked sorry. like its genuinely so funny because all she cares about is doing swordfighting and her parents are SICK of it. truly an experience so far.

Ok so after I had ago at drawing Prime Rose the other day, I couldn't help but want to have ago at redesigning her armour to make it a bit more functional rather than formal (Since her original armour is more like a bikini and doesn't really protect her chest at all). Anyway, As I began to thumb nail concept sketches I wanted to incorporate elements of her original design into the armour- i.e the colour, the rose, her decorative headband e.t.c And I also wanted to modernise it by giving it a bit of a 2003 Astro Boy vibe too- this would emphasise the overall aesthetic of her armour. Further more I wanted add a few of my own little extras in her armour design too. After sketching out a few thumb nails, I took elements I liked from my sketches and created one final concept sketch and in the end I came up with this spunky looking armour design. For my Modernised Armour design for Prime, I kept her Amour design simplicid, but I emphasised functionality- it protects her body a bit more. Her Armour is sort of layered- She has a mesh looking leotard underneath and on top she has a crop top chest plate and bikini bottom protective plate. Around the neck area of her chest plate armour- I gave it a bit of a popped out collar to emphasise the spunkiness of the design. I kept the big poofy looking shoulder pads, the x- cross straps and the rose on her chest plate too. The back of her chest plate would have like a diamond opening- sort of like my Version of Livy's Leotard she has in her battle form. For her lower arms I gave her gold/ black and grey trimmed gauntlets to make her warrior side really stand out and because they really work well with her slightly baggy looking knee high boots. I kept her colour palette basically the same as her original armour. Also I kept the little rose earrings in the design too- because they contrast nicely with the large rose on the centre of her chest plate and they emphasise her beauty. Oh and her weapon of course would still be her sword. Overall I love how my redesign of her armour came out- I think it makes her look spunky, it still had that slight sexiness to it and it does give me those 2003 Astro Boy vibes too   Anyways, I had a great time redesign Prime Rose's armour, I do plan on doing a nice polished drawing of Prime in my Armour redesign too. Overall I hope you like the armour redesign as much as I do ^^

The Capcom VS. Osamu Tezuka characters art exhibit is back once again!

Titled "CAPCOM VS. Osamu Tezuka Characters - Tezuka Fighting Universe 2" [ CAPCOM VS. 手塚治虫キャラクターズ －テヅカプファイティングユニバース2－ ] in 2024, it will be held at two locations: the Tokiwaso Manga Museum and the Tokiwaso Showa Retro Museum, both located in the Toshima ward of Tokyo, Japan.

The exhibit will be active from July 20, 2024 to November 24, 2024 at both locations.

The artwork on the poster is by official Tezuka Productions artist, Tsunogai.
