I received a surprise email regarding this bookmail, but I thought it would be in 2 weeks at most, but it arrived a few days after the email was sent. Nevertheless, I was really excited and decided to film a reel.
I'm not really good with reel videos, but I'm just so excited to show and post this unvoxing right away 😆
The box contains a lot of extra gifts, such as fans, cute shades, nameplates, a bookmark, a book card, and of course my favourite, the book itself. I didn't expect the book to be this BIG, but it was so PRETTY ♡
Read the e-arc last month, it was full of drama, rated it 4⭐️. If you're interested in my review, you can find it on my profile, I posted a review last month, so check it out ♡

Many thanks to @prhinternational for free e-copy via #NetGalley. @getunderlined - 𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙮 𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙨 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(5/5) Like a Love Song is lovely and cute YA romance that revolves around Natalie a Brazilian pop-star who has to fake date to better her image but it soon turns into real forever feeling that helps her find herself and reconnect with her culture and family. The story is about embracing roots and culture, dealing with pressure of fame, family, friendship, and love. Netalie isn’t instantly likable character. As story progressed her character starts shinning more and more. It was amazing to see how being with William and fake dating developed her character, made her want to be herself without changing anything about her and reconnecting with her family in Brazil, and accept her culture and even her Brazilian name. William is cute, totally adorable and developed character. I could relate with his love for his family and financial struggle. Best part of the book is Netalie’s struggle and her development and romance. So far fake dating trope is hit or miss for me but this made me fall for this trope. Overall, Like a Love Song is heartwarming, fluffy and adorable YA romance with fake dating trope and forced proximity arc. I highly recommend this if you like, YA romance fake dating trope forced proximity arc brazilian main character theme of dealing with pressure of fame, embracing roots and culture diverse story exploring identity - 𝙌𝙊𝙏𝘿- Which is your favorite Fake Dating Romance? .... #LikeaLoveSong #GabrielaMartins #YA #YABook #YAreader #YAromance #fluffyromance #fakedatingromance #fakedatingtrope #forcedproximityarc #Brazilianmaincharacter #diversebook #bookaboutpressureoffame #Underlined #Delacorte #prhinternational #penguinrandomhouse #romance #contemporary #indianbookstagram #bookreview #booksteacupandreviews #bookcommunity #bookgram #bookbloggerofIg #booksofig #bookaesthetic #bookblogger #bookphotography via @preview.app https://www.instagram.com/p/CZhgPsePhAh/?utm_medium=tumblr

Jacqueline Woodson - Red at the Bone
When Iris gets pregnant at the age of fifteen, she only takes in the fact that she and her boyfriend Aubrey are going to have a baby. What this really means for her life, she cannot assess at that moment. Sixteen years later, her daughter Melody is having her coming-of-age-party wearing the dress that was once meant for her mother. Not just Iris’s life takes another road with the unexpected kid, also her parents’ plans and of course those of Aubrey and his family change due to the new situation and all of them also have to face the world outside their family bubbly where not everybody is totally understanding. A novel about family bonds and about what influence a single human being can have on how you live your life.
Jacqueline Woodson has chosen a discontinuous mode of narration. Not only does she spring back and forward chronologically, but she also gives different characters a voice and also has a 3rd person narrator tell parts of the plot. This makes the whole story quite lively and often unexpected because at the beginning of each chapter you do not know where you are starting from and who is addressing you.
There are some central topics focussed on, first of all, of course, the teenager falling pregnant. The family manages the situation perfectly, no major fight or disruption arises from Iris’s decision to keep the baby, but it is hard to read about the reactions of her friends and school, even though I would classify it as highly authentic. The only person really struggling with the new-born, yet, is Iris who can never really bond with her daughter. She puts some effort in their relationship, but it is simply never enough and she most certainly suffers from the chances that she in her own perception never had in her life due to becoming a mother that early – admittedly, I had the impression that life could be much worse under these circumstances and Iris had a lot of opportunities to fulfil her dreams.
Another aspect are the class-related and skin-colour attributed options in life. These do not determine the characters’ fate, yet provide some food for thought as do family relations in general in the novel.
The novel offers a lot of blind spots, leaves gaps that you have to fill on your own due to the structure of the narration. I actually liked it because it makes you think on after reading and sticking with the book much longer. I also enjoyed Jacqueline Woodson’s style e of writing which is well adapted to the different characters and authentic.

#ad Thank you to @prhinternational for this gifted copy of The Testament. I cannot wait to read it. ☺️ Are you a fan of The Handmaid’s Tale? I admit I haven’t read the book yet, but I’ve seen two seasons of the show and I’m hooked and can’t wait to have time to catch up on the latest. Then after I think it’s time for me to start these books because the story is so compelling and intriguing, all the whole being disturbing and scary. I can’t wait to find out both what happened before and after! 😄 • • • • • • #bookstagram #bibliophile #deskdecor #booklover #bøker #desksetup #bookvibes #bookstagramfeatures #hyggelife #hyggehome #bookworm #readerofinstagram #vscobooks #bookphotograhy #deskspace #igreads #booksbooksbooks #pumpkinseason #autumnreads #bookaesthetic #bookcommunity #influencer #inspiration #bookishlife #mybeigelife #nordicstyle #itsfallyall #huntingforautumn #partner (at Oslo, Norway) https://www.instagram.com/p/B35B42cA0cn/?igshid=57lpc90ykwon

Book Review: A Sorrow Fierce and Falling
Book Review: A Sorrow Fierce and Falling
“It is rare to meet a true lady in this life, much less a true sorcerer. We shall always remember.”
— Jessica Cluess, A Sorrow Fierce and Falling
I would like to thank NetGalley and Penguin Random House International for sending me a free eARC to review! This does not affect my opinion.
Hiya, everyone! I’m back with a review, and this time, it’s for the last book I have come to love and adore. If…

I recently finished an ARC of THE SACRIFICE BOX by @martin_j_stewart (thank you @prhinternational!) and here is a short review: Moody and atmospheric, THE SACRIFICE BOX is a look on friendship and childhood and wanting a way out. It is gripping, and the author thoughtfully balances spooky and disquieting with well-placed humor. I also think the use of the physical manifestations of fears and other messed up things in the dark recesses of the human mind is a clever metaphor for how tangible and crippling our fears—our painful, deepest fears—can sometimes feel. Reminiscent of ‘It’ and Stephen King in general, I definitely recommend Stewart’s sophomore novel for fans of the genre. ——— Side note: I had the boldness to read this at 3am. Nope. Do not do this kids. I had to rewatch my favorite scenes from ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.’ ——— #TheSacrificeBox #MartinStewart #VikingBooks #PenguinRandomHouse #youngadult #coffee #booksandcoffee #book #bookworm #bookish #bibliophile #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #bookphotography #bookblogger #flatlay #iphonography #iphoneonly #takenoniphone #vsco #vscocam #vscophile https://www.instagram.com/p/BnQ-gWaFKS_/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kn68qwnbjzok

✨ ARC REVIEW The Cousins by Karen M. McManus 4⭐
Thank you @prhinternational for the #gifted ARC! 💕
I’m a big fan of thrillers but YA thrillers rarely work for me. The exception for this is the YA thrillers McManus writes. I always enjoy her stories and this one wasn’t the exception.
The story follows three cousins that barely know each other but are all invited to stay and work in their granma’s…

Time for Wrap-Up!
There are a lot of good things that I'm grateful for that happened this month. From our thesis defended, finding amazing reads to receiving an approval of earcs of some of my most anticipated reads 🩶
Long story short, this month has been wonderful to me. Perhaps even better than the last 🩶
Although I still find myself having a few 1-2⭐️ reads and even DNFS, this month is still amazing 🤚🏽
As much as I wanted to post a booksya feature of all of them, I'm afraid I cannot, so I had a blog post for the rest of the novels I read which will be redirected to my goodreads review, you may check it on my Blog Highlight 🩶 I've posted the rest here on booksta, especially those I really did enjoy ✨️
The total number of books I've read this month should have been 28, but the other has a problematic author, so I'm not including that. If you know, you know 🙈
I hope you had a wonderful June month as well, everyone ✨️

#weeklywrapup Last week I read A Secret At Tansy Falls by Cate Woods and also started reading two books. I'm reading The Beat Short Stories of 202, a collection of short stories edited by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiechie. First two stories were not for me, I couldn't get half the things but i loved next two. I plan to read 2 stories everyday and hopefully would like to finish it before month end. I have also started Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon and so far I'm enjoying it. What’s on your weekend TBR?! 📚😍✨ Thanks to @prhinternational, our weekend is fully booked will all of these pretty reads! 😭🙌📚 . We hardly get to buy Adult titles so it’s always exciting to get surprise adult bookmail. 🙈📚 I am itching to start Fifty Words for Rain by Asha Lemmie since it’s a historical fiction novel set in Japan with a biracial Japanese-African American main character. Have been reading a few reviews and they say this book will tug your heartstrings. 🥺❤️ . Then Isabel is excited to dive into Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan! It will be our second read by this author (Crazy Rich Asians!) and we hope to enjoy it just as much! 😍🙌 And I say we because we always discuss books between each other. 😂📚 . I don’t think we’ll manage to finish them this weekend (or start Pretty Things by Janelle Brown which we also look forward to!) but here’s hoping we can still fall in love with these stories. 😍🙌📚✨ . . . #booksbooksbooks #warmandcozy #readersofig #simplethingsmadebeautiful #booknerds #lovetoread #igreads #bookwormlife #bookflatlay #totalbooknerd https://www.instagram.com/p/CENDzXWBg3j/?igshid=1cibtb1vath8k

💙Mental Health Awareness💙 . Hello, bookish lovelies! How’s your May in general? I hope you had a wonderful month! I’ve spent so many nights at work this month and in recollection, it was sort of insane.😅. . I’ve always wanted to actively advocate the importance of mental health issues and since May is the official Mental Health Awareness Month, what better way to jump on the bandwagon than by recommending a book with characters battling against mental health problems? . тнe lυcĸy oɴeѕ by Liz Lawson @lzlwsn is about two teenagers, May and Zach, who survived a horrifying school shooting, tried to find their ways back to the new normal: a life without a beloved brother, and one forced to live with disturbing rumors and endless trolls. . May and Zach had very different reasons to mourn over the incident, and I appreciate the overall character development of the protagonists. Needless to say, it was never an easy task to depict the subtle evolution from grief, hatred, and self-loathing to plucking up courage, seeking help, and eventually forgiving others. Liz certainly did a spectacular job raising awareness for mental health fighters (PTSD sufferers in this story), so this book was a perfect pick for the month.💕. . All in all, тнe lυcĸy oɴeѕ was a 🌟🌟🌟💫read for me and if you’d like some heartfelt reading material for the cause, hesitate no more and go pick this up! . ✨Thanks to @prhinternational and the author for the review opportunity.✨ . #bookrecs #bookreviews #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthbooks #bookish #prhpartner #penguinrandomhouse #ptsd #theluckyones #lizlawson #bluebooksformind #jasshopssmall #bookmarks #booklove #booklovers #readersofinstagram #summerreads #newreleases #instabooks #netgalley #mustreads #bookstagram #bookstagrammers #emilycromwelldesigns https://www.instagram.com/p/CA1uMq9A4vR/?igshid=1jkqukl3wc2qn

Katharine Smyth - All the Lives We Ever Lived
The death of her father has left Katharine pondering about her life and the people playing major roles in it. Amongst them is not only her family but also Virginia Woolf whose works deeply impressed her when she was a student at Oxford. The parallels between “To the Lighthouse” and her own life are stunning, especially when it comes to the impact that places have on the people. It is her family’s summer house in Rhode Island that first and foremost underlines this impression. Re-reading Virginia Woolf gives her the opportunity to understand her grief as well as her family relationships and to finally cope with her father’s passing.
Katharine Smyth makes it easy for the reader to follow her thoughts. Even though it is some years since I last read “To the Lighthouse”, I could effortlessly find my way back into the novel and see the thread that Smyth also saw. I found it an interesting approach for a memoir or biography and I liked it a lot.
There are two major aspects that I’d like to mention. First of all, Katharine Smyth cleverly shows how literature can help to overcome hard situations and to find solace in reading. It has been a concept since the ancient times, the classic Greek drama with its purgatory function and the possibility of a katharsis which helps you to sort out your feelings and opens the way to go on in life. Second, I also appreciated the author’s frankness. It is certainly not easy to write about the own father’s addiction and his slow deterioration, yet, the process of writing might have helped her, too, and embellishing things would have been counterproductive here.
An interesting memoir which was also beautifully written that made me think about which novel I would pick as a parallel to my own life.
