📚First Book Series You Own📚 . Hello, bookish lovelies! Happy Saturday!! I hope this week’s treating you well. My week started just fine and slightly calmer than usual; however, my lack of self confidence has taken its toll since Thursday after a failed task at work. Thankfully, some surprising bookish packages totally cheered me up and I’m feeling energetic now.😌. . Today I’d like to share the first book series I own, THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy PLUS the brand-new prequel, THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES by Suzanne Collins. I still remember how addicted I was to the story when my best friend in junior high school lent me her precious collection of this trilogy and the craziest part? I lost 2kg after devouring this series because I totally forgot to eat lunch & dinner for three consecutive days!😂😂😅😅. . The hardcover edition of these four books is so freaking pretty I can’t even! I’m really glad the prequel matches the original series so perfectly even though it’s released almost a decade later.🙃😻. . P.S. 🖤Bully High School Romance🤍 . Hey, bookish lovelies! How’s your day? I hope you’re having a good time. I seem to have the ability to pick the most disappointing reads when I need them least. That being said, the books I recently finished are nothing but a total let down.😔 They all started pretty promisingly but wrapped up terribly. *sigh*. . Thankfully, Sammi @authorsjsylvis new release, ALL THE LITTLE LIES, makes my current reading life more bearable. I adore Sammi’s swoon-worthy romance like THREE SUMMERS, and I’m so happy (and slightly surprised) that she adds something thought-provoking in her book this time. . ALL THE LITTLE LIES isn’t your typical upper YA romance; it tackles important issues such as bullying, domestic violence, and drug abuse, just to name a few. 🌿Contemporary Romance Book Stack🌿 . Happy Sunday/Saturday, everyone! I hope y’all have a splendid weekend. 🍪If you could only read ONE genre of books in the rest of your life, what would it be?🍪 . To answer my own question, it’d be Contemporary Romance without doubt! When reading first became my thing years ago, my favorite genres used to be dystopian and paranormal romance but now contemporary romance/fiction has topped my reading list as I grow older.😂😅 . How’s your week? To my surprise, my working schedule this week is relatively loose and I actually have time to take a breath, relax a bit, and refresh myself before working on a new case next Monday.😌🌿🍹 . 💙Mental Health Awareness💙 . Hello, bookish lovelies! How’s your May in general? I hope you had a wonderful month! I’ve spent so many nights at work this month and in recollection, it was sort of insane.😅. . I’ve always wanted to actively advocate the importance of mental health issues and since May is the official Mental Health Awareness Month, what better way to jump on the bandwagon than by recommending a book with characters battling against mental health problems? . тнe lυcĸy oɴeѕ by Liz Lawson @lzlwsn is about two teenagers, May and Zach, who survived a horrifying school shooting, tried to find their ways back to the new normal: a life without a beloved brother, and one forced to live with disturbing rumors and endless trolls. . May and Zach had very different reasons to mourn over the incident, and I appreciate the overall character development of the protagonists. Needless to say, it was never an easy task to depict the subtle evolution from grief, hatred, and self-loathing to plucking up courage, seeking help, and eventually forgiving others. Liz certainly did a spectacular job raising awareness for mental health fighters (PTSD sufferers in this story), so this book was a perfect pick for the month.💕. . The book I finished yesterday was a short read from a young climate activist, well-known for her school-strikes and groundbreaking speeches, Greta Thunberg. “No One is Too Small To Make a Difference,” consists of Greta’s public speeches conveying important yet usually neglected messages to the readers and audience around the world.🌏 . This book also reminds me of a class about climate change and UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) I took in university, which totally broadened my horizons about what’s going on to our beloved planet.🌱 . Even though Greta never stops speaking out our minds and keeps advocating, raising awareness about 🅲🅻🅸🅼🅰🆃🅴 🅲🆁🅸🆂🅸🆂, which should be treated as a crisis as if our house were on fire from now on, I’m actually more eager to find the solutions to such an almost-unsolvable problem. We all know we have to reduce carbon emissions but how exactly can we effectively fulfill the control of carbon footprints?👣 .
