A VERY slow start to @books-and-cookies 1000 pages readathon.

I was exactly on page 100 of The Name of the Rose when the readathon started, now I’m on 331. Haven’t started anything else.

I think (hope) I’ll manage to finish that and The Overstory by the 14th, which would give me 1097 pages. Aiming to start Huck Finn as well, but honestly, who the hell knows.

Meet my goal for @books-and-cookies 24 hour readathon. This beast of a book is 699 pages and I am already halfway through.Starting this readathon on page 330! (That’s an entire book for most people.)

I HOPE I can finish this today, though, I won’t be heartbroken if I don’t. It is a rather enjoyable read and I don’t want this story to end. (But I do have other books that need reading .... sooo...)

Anyway, good luck to you all. I have my tea and comfy clothes. It’s only a half hour until midnight for me and then I can start.

Okay, I just finished this month’s selection for the @literallydeadclub . First, the book cover?!? It GLOOOOOOWS in the dark! I had no idea until I turned the light above my nightstand off, and the darn thing started glowing! That’s a pretty cool feature. - 📚. As for the book? The premise was way cool. The choice of the two narrators was clever, because we got to follow both of the main characters through the mystery of the haunted house. - 📚. Ultimately though, I figured out all the twists fairly early on. Maybe it’s all the mystery books I read so long ago. In spite of this, the writing was well done, and I did enjoy the story. - 📚. SYNOPSIS: What was it like? Living in that house. - . Maggie Holt is used to such questions. Twenty-five years ago, she and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. They spent three weeks there before fleeing in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors.
