I received a surprise email regarding this bookmail, but I thought it would be in 2 weeks at most, but it arrived a few days after the email was sent. Nevertheless, I was really excited and decided to film a reel.

I'm not really good with reel videos, but I'm just so excited to show and post this unvoxing right away 😆

The box contains a lot of extra gifts, such as fans, cute shades, nameplates, a bookmark, a book card, and of course my favourite, the book itself. I didn't expect the book to be this BIG, but it was so PRETTY ♡

𝐌α𝗒 𝐑𝖾αᑯ𝗂𐓣𝗀 𝐖𝗋αρ-𝐔ρ ♡

This month has been A LOT for me. I obviously have been more productive and driven (¿?) than the previous months. I think 🙈

With that being said, I also got myself a lot of new books to read for the next month and arcs as well that I just got that I can't wait to read.

Anyway, I've read a total of 24 books this month, which was surprising to me, not gonna lie 🤚🏽

My top 5 reads this month are:

1. My Noisy Roommate 2. Boruto series in general 3. Dark Water Daughter 4. Love & Other Tropes & Everything We Never Said 5. Lies and Weddings & In the Shadow of the Truth (my tier 5 🤚🏽)

☆•°𝐋𝗂𝖾𝗌 α𐓣ᑯ 𝐖𝖾ᑯᑯ𝗂𐓣𝗀𝗌 𝚋𝚢 𝙺𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚗 𝙺𝚠𝚊𝚗°•☆

𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜: 4⭐️ 𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠:

This is my very first Kevin Kwan novel, and I would say I was a bit challenged through its writing as a whole. It is something that I'm not sure if I like or dislike, but as for the content in this novel, I think it fits well.

Lies and weddings is probably more of drama and something elite, classism and sociopolitical in content rather than a romance novel. If you're more drawn to romance, I think this might throw you off.

That being said, this is really something chaotic, in my opinion, specifically the characters. As someone who's Asian, I can really attest that some of the rep here are also present in Filipino households.

As for the characters, same with my opinion on the writing, I'm not sure if I love them? I would say I was more inclined and focused on the drama revolving around the characters. Although, I'm sure I hate Arabella.

I also would like to add that part towards the ending? I was hoping for more drama there, actually.

Overall, I would say I was entertained with the whole events.

Things to note in this novel:

○ drama focused ○ sociopolitical ○ elite, classism ○ aggressions ○ toxicity ○ financial problems ○ fashion ○ minimal romance
